Their automated scan engine can be a little better. Their manual testing is very thorough though.

I am the Co-Dounder and CTO of a Crypto Fintech company that provides a financial platform to invest in crypto portfolios.

For what projects/services did your company hire Audacix?

In the financial sector security is an important aspect of an application. In our early stage, we needed a partner that executes a detailed Penetration Test of our web application.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have done some research and found some companies, also local ones in Austria, that offered services. Where Audacix stood out is the information they provided so that you can get a clear picture of how detailed the pentest is done. After the first calls it was clear that Audacix also provided one of the most detailed tests which was perfect for our needs.

After some initial calls to clarify the scope and some technical questions, we only needed to wait until the test was done and we got the result. The report was very clear and we could act on it easily since all the vulerabilities were explained as well.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to fix one critical vulnerability instantly and made some improvements by fixing low priority vulnerabilities as well. Also we got the confidence that the rest of the application was secure enough for our purpose.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Even though the initial calls were maybe not that efficient, there were only a few and then the pentesters could already start. After that, communication was very efficient and the results were achieved with little overhead. So overall effectiveness was very high.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The level of detail in the pentest as well as a potential holistic support with experts and other tools.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The professional execution was really good. The only thing which could have been improved would have been clarity over the contract: - The currency was once in AUD, then in EUR so the price was not clear to us - The contract could have also been more simple by just selling a one-time pentest service instead of a 2 year contract which is billed differently the second year
