I’m the Canadian sales and marketing manager for Walker's Shortbread Limited, a 126-year-old cookie manufacturer based in Scotland. I manage the company’s Canadian market business.

We needed an agency to help us develop a digital strategy.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Arnold Street Agency has helped us set up our Canadian Instagram and Facebook pages. We’re also working on TikTok and Pinterest. The team works closely with our marketing team in Scotland to create a presence specific to Canada while still being tied to the base brand. Arnold Street Agency has created reels, videos, and general photography for posts on Facebook and Instagram. Arnold Street Agency does everything and provides equipment; we only provide the cookies.

The team picks the content from our Scottish team that resonates with our market and creates their own — it's about 50/50. Additionally, Arnold Street Agency manages how we talk to and work with influencers. 

What is the team composition?

We’ve had calls and interactions with all their senior teammates, from Emily, the CEO, to the head of design and head of content. We have a day-to-day manager who manages all the internal teams and communications with me and with Scotland. We’ve worked with quite a few of their people, including the heads of creative and production.

How did you come to work with Arnold Street Agency?

We did an online search for top agencies in the Toronto area. Arnold Street Agency came up with high recommendations and praise from other companies. We interviewed 2–3 agencies, and Arnold Street Agency came out on top. When we first met with them, we got the names of some of the other companies they work with, and we had a look at their Instragram pages to see if the tone, look, and assortment of products fit with ours as well. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ll probably spend $40,000–$50,000 by the end of the year. The investment will be around $100,000 for a year.

What is the status of this engagement?

They started to post in mid-September 2024, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Based on the strategy Arnold Street Agency put together for us, we got off to a great start and gained many followers quickly. The team provides metrics every month, including the most popular posts, to help formulate the strategy going forward. Although we only have a month of metrics at this point, all initial signs are positive, and people have responded well to the ads, photographs, and videos.

How did Arnold Street Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve been pleased with the project management. Connie, who's our point of contact, is very good, patient, and receptive to the changes we want to make. She has a positive attitude and is always helpful. She finds a way to get things done and has worked under tight timelines. Although we got off to a slower start, this was because our marketing group wanted to check through everything.

Moreover, Arnold Street Agency excels at working with what they have and is really good at coming up with great ideas when the budgets aren't as robust as they would like, which we appreciate

We have check-in video calls, and there’s a shared Google site where they post things for us to check. We can all go in and have a look and give feedback. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Emily is fantastic. She’s been very patient. Taking the leap into digital has been a huge undertaking for us, and she’s been wonderful as our team vets everything and becomes more comfortable with the process. She's been great at giving us an overview of the company, talking about how they work, and making us feel comfortable. 

Connie, our day-to-day manager, has also been wonderful — we've been in great hands. She can be in a tough spot working with our team and trying to keep everybody happy, but she’s very organized, friendly, and helpful. I can't say enough good things about her.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Arnold Street Agency is very down-to-earth. While other agencies have been stuffy, Arnold Street Agency is easy to talk to and understands our vision and restrictions. We have to stick to a general guideline set forth by Scotland, so the team can't always do what they want, but they've been willing to work with us and come up with something. They’re all very passionate, positive, and receptive, even if we've only met them for 10 minutes.

Arnold Street Agency is willing to do whatever it takes to make us feel comfortable. They tell us when they don’t agree with something, and they’re great. The team is very open to feedback and uses it collaboratively.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing I can say that we weren’t happy with. The tweaks we make to their ideas aren’t major overhauls. If they bring us an idea and we’re not interested in it, they’re fine and move on to the next thing.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Talk to them. Be honest and open, and have a good idea of your goals. Arnold Street Agency works within the metrics of digital platforms and can help you bring them to fruition. You need to have a clear idea of your objectives and what you want to achieve; the team will help with that.

Communication remained open throughout the entire project and if we had any questions or required updates, they were always available to meet to discuss. 
We were fully briefed every step of the way, from the initial proposal to the summary of campaign results. All aspects of this project were delivered well and on time, and their team was extremely responsive to our needs.

We began working with Arnold Street Media when our company was quite new, and our product line was still in development. At that time, our goal was to create a new logo and begin growing our presence in social media. The team at ASM was amazing at helping us create a chohesive, and beautiful aesthetic for our IG feed, as well as assisting with copywriting our monthly content. 
As a team, we were able to grow our following exponentially over the course of two years. During this time, they also assisted with designing the labels of my product bottles. As we approached the launch date of our product line, ASM developed a solid digital marketing strategy that included fostering pre-launch buzz, developing and executing dark ads, email marketing, and re-targeting ads.

Initially, our measure of success was achieving a reasonable follower count. Not only did the ASM team create a beautiful, on brand feed for us, but our follower count grew beyond our expectations. After launch, they managed to gather thousands of emails addresses of customers interested in the education we provide and our product line.

With Arnold Street Media, we started the Social Media platforms for a worldwide and well-known wine brand from Chile, called Casillero del Diablo. (@casillerodeldiabloca). It was a big project for us since we wanted to keep the escense and soul of this Chiliean wine, but also incorporate it into the Canadian consumers lifestyle. 
Needless to say, this was a project that required a lot dedication, attention to detail, and budget management. The whole investment was totally worth it as we started to create 360 campigns and seen actual results converted into sales, but keeping the parameters of the brand and also creating experiences and ideas for the canadian consumers of all age and backgrounds.

I wasn’t seeing the traffic that I wanted to have during my first year of business. That’s why I hired Arnold Street Media to take care of all my social media and PR work.

The team handles my Instagram and Facebook where they post regular content. They also create ads and handles my giveaways. 

Arnold Street Media manages my partnerships with influencers. They even help with my website content. They’ve already finished doing a video production for me, which is posted on both my website and social media platforms. They also spearhead my SEO and PPC efforts.  

What is the team composition?

I originally worked with Emily (Founder & Production Director), and now I work consistently with Robyn (Marketing and Communications Director) and another staff from their team. 

How did you come to work with Arnold Street Media?

I fell in love with their portfolio. I also looked into a few other companies, but they were always the quickest to get back to me for anything. They were always there from the beginning and always just on top of everything. Above all, they gave me the most advice and direction. 

Arnold Street Media gave me a great layout and plan of the scope of work. I just felt they did things in a very personalized way. Considering the scope of work they were willing to do and their reasonable price, we chose them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $14,000, and we roughly pay them $2,400 a month.  

What is the status of this engagement?

We started partnering with them in July 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since the start of our engagement, they’ve gotten me several sales. I’ve also landed a partnership with Urban Outfitters, a huge retail store. They reached out to me and found me through Instagram. They loved my branding, my story, and basically how my company was presented. As a result, they wanted to try some samples of my products. We sent it to them and they loved it. After that, I closed a deal with them. 

Additionally, I’ve also been in three subscription boxes. The subscription boxes have been great because they went to 200–300 people, so I had about 600–800 people trying my product. From those, I’d say about 25%–30% have posted about it.  More importantly, those who posted it were also influencers, so it was a great exposure too.  Arnold Street Media has definitely impacted my business in a positive way. 

How did Arnold Street Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They are great with deadlines and they always communicate with me. I’m very lenient with deadlines so I usually give them more time to finish things, but sometimes, they finish it within 24 hours.  If there's an emergency or anything, they always reach out to me. I think that has only happened once since July. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

For the price they offer, their quality of work is fantastic. Moreover, their customer service is also amazing. I worked with another company before, and it took them forever to complete things. That’s why I’m shocked by Arnold Street Media’s exemplary time management capabilities and their ability to complete exceptional work done.
