Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the Creative Director at the Telecom Infra Project or TIP for short. TIP is a non-profit telecom industry organization that is trying to assist with education, certification, testing and validation, and promotion of new, open technologies in the industry.

In my role, I support our marketing initiatives through creative collateral as well as developing our brand language and messaging. This requires creating in-house collateral, but also hiring vendors to assist with more challenging initiatives.

For what projects/services did your company hire Armonica Film SRL, and what were your goals?

I started with TIP toward the end of September 2022 and we were quickly approaching our huge industry-wide event Fyuz at the end of October. Our biggest challenge was ensuring that the event was captured from a video perspective as that work had not begun until I started with the company. We ultimately needed tons of video assets, including over 30 sponsor videos, videos of our breakout sessions, and highlight videos showcasing the overall event.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The biggest factor for us was finding a vendor who would be available for a full week on such short notice. Ideally, they would also have a reel or series of reels highlighting work in the tech industry and at events. Armonica fit that bill perfectly, quickly working with us and using their time wisely in the run up to the event. They also showcased a ton of great videos from other conferences and tech companies they have worked with.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

We needed 30 sponsor interview videos, so the team needed to block out calendars with C-suite executives, find the time at the event, shoot, and then edit all of those videos. We also tasked them with simultaneously capturing our breakout sessions which required them having additional crew in multiple locations throughout the event. Finally, we needed a highlight video which required capturing b-roll throughout the event as well as preparing a thematic story around the event.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked with Paolo and Roberta primarily and briefly met their talented team of creatives. Feedback went incredibly smoothly and, even though we often had to go back with edits as there were many project stakeholders, they quickly updated and supplied us everything we needed and were very pleasant to work with.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We received a lot of acclaim and thanks from our 30+ sponsors who also get to use these videos to assist with their marketing initiatives. We played these videos on social where they were instrumental to increasing our social followers by 50% and improving our overall YouTube presence and metrics.

There was minimal project management needed on my end. Roberta did a great job of scheduling everything and provided a calendar of expected delivery dates post-event. They were fast and professional throughout and, despite us having nearly 60 videos from them, they were able to provide them all within the month. We were very pleased with their communication and timeliness.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Everything. They are true pros who can handle anything you throw at them in a short time period. Their professionalism was top notch and the quality of the videos they produced wow'd not only internal stakeholders, but also our external sponsors and teams.

No, I am looking forward to working with them again in the future.

My name is Craig Weisbaum. I’m the owner and chief creative officer of Talking Tree Creative, a video and event production company based in Baltimore.

What challenge were you trying to address with Armonica Film?

We were hired by a pharmaceutical company to produce video interviews with experts at a medical conference in Italy. It wouldn’t be cost-effective to bring a whole crew and equipment from the U.S., so we needed to hire a local production company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Armonica provided the engineering capability and the video system required to record the interviews. They also supplied all the equipment and crew for the actual video and audio capture.

We hired them for a second project in the same Italian city a month later, which was a similar engagement.

What is the team dynamic?

We sent a small team to direct the projects; three people for the first, two for the second. They made sure somebody on the crew spoke English, in order to translate for the rest of the crew and interface with the director.

How did you come to work with Armonica Film?

We used web searches and the Production Hub directory to find potential partners. We visited their websites and looked at samples, and then narrowed it down to 2-3 companies.

After talking to each about the equipment they use and the skill sets of their crew, we felt Armonica was a good fit. We asked for pricing, and they quickly got back to us with a quote so we could complete the proposal to our client.

What is the status of this engagement?

We hired them for the first project in September 2017, and the second project in October 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They aced the technical details that go into making a shoot a success, such as having a logical signal flow. The crew knew the equipment very well. Able to set up the proper white balance and the proper lighting, and make sure the audio levels are correct.

The quality of the work was excellent. They know their stuff, they know their business, and they do it very well.

The crew also had good creative suggestions on camera angles, which is really helpful on this kind of collaborative project.

How did Armonica Film perform from a project management standpoint?

Excellent communicators, which is very important. Constant communication from the planning process, all the way through the execution of the job.

They were very service-oriented as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They made our job very easy by delivering what they promised, when they promised it. Most impressive was that they were engaged with the whole project, which is actually rare in outsourcing.

Not only are they really good at their part of the job, they're aware of the other parts of the project and willing to help in any way—whether it's in their contract or not.
