What challenge were you trying to address with Appworks Technologies?

I came up with a novel solution for solving identity fraud issues in the real estate industry. The technology for building it was outside of my scope.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Appworks Technologies is developing my solution in the form of an iOS and Android app, and website and desktop software. We have been using tools like InVision for the design process.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Appworks Technologies in September 2016. The collaboration is ongoing.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

When I first presented the project to Appworks Technologies, they scoped the initial stage for comprehension of what I was trying to do and determining how it would be done. That first step was definitely the best one because the people who were assigned to it understood what I was doing, which was far outside of their specialty, given that it focused on real estate, document control, and fraud. Appworks Technologies understood it all and applied their own tools to it.

How did Appworks Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Appworks Technologies had excellent performance. We're not done, but we're very close, and project management has certainly been more complicated than I originally anticipated. I had never embarked on anything of this nature before and didn't understand how much it would involve. We've had multiple layers of development, which were perfectly managed by Appworks Technologies.

We have used software which allowed me to create the initial screen wireframes, giving Appworks Technologies a better understanding of what I was trying to convey. We also used InVision, which allowed me to see a clickable mockup of the app.

What did you find most impressive about Appworks Technologies?

Appworks Technologies' communication skills across all departments were impressive.

Are there any areas Appworks Technologies could improve?

I can't think of anything.

CONEXSYS Registration has an operational office in Beverly, Massachusetts, and our head office is in Bonita Springs, Florida. I am the VP and a part owner of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Appworks Technologies?

We were developing a software enterprise solution aimed at servicing trade shows, conferences, and continued education programs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Appworks Technologies performed an extensive study of our existing platform and developed our software using C++. It covers all of our very specific requirements for servicing the industry. We have a four-developer team working on the solution.

How did you come to work with Appworks Technologies?

My VP of customer success found Appworks Technologies and recommended the company. We found their group to be proficient in the field.

How much have you invested with Appworks Technologies?

The cost of Appworks Technologies' work has been above $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Certain portions of the project, including its core, have been completed, but we're still building very specific requirements around those. We hope to complete the project by our deadline, June 1^st, 2017.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

From an overall view, I can note that Appworks Technologies has a very good project manager leading the work. We have involved a project lead from our side, and I have seen the overall progress. In general terms, the grasp which Appworks Technologies had in trying to get all requirements from us was excellent. The back-and-forth communication around wireframes and development in an evolving project has also been very good. It has turned out to be a large piece, much more involved than what we originally had. We had been using three different platforms, but we're consolidating them into one.

How did Appworks Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We have weekly communication around builds, including conference calls. The deadlines are being met, and the communication is excellent. Appworks Technologies performs a new build every week, and they provide very good feedback on all the points being worked on. We're happy with the collaboration.

What did you find most impressive about Appworks Technologies?

The experience has been very good. We've been working with Appworks Technologies for a year, and they have really understood what we needed to accomplish. The work was planned carefully, and we are on target to complete the work by our deadline.

Are there any areas Appworks Technologies could improve?

From a development point of view, no. Appworks Technologies' team has also been more organized than our own group. We're quite happy with the progress and are looking forward to its completion. It's an awesome enterprise software package for us.

We're a medical photography company. I am the Chief Operating Officer.

What challenge were you trying to address with Appworks Technologies?

We provide a software-as-a-service product. Our business goal was to reach out and sell the product through a service model to doctors. We need to improve the platform as time goes on, and aim to revolutionize the industry.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Appworks Technologies helped us develop our entire backend infrastructure, as well as handling frontend design. As a technology partner, Appworks Technologies was integral in getting us up-and-running, while also making sure that everything worked properly, from a quality assurance standpoint.

We gave Appworks Technologies specs for what we wanted. A manager from our side was assigned to the project, and worked with Appworks Technologies from start to finish, for .NET and Java development, as well as design. Appworks Technologies took care of all our technological needs, based on our requirements, from an app and database standpoint.

How did you come to work with Appworks Technologies?

We started our company in South Florida. Appworks Technologies was the most well-known local app developer. We saw a few of their presentations and interviewed their members, discussing the opportunity. We also considered some competitors, but ultimately settled on Appworks Technologies because of their experience.

The total cost of Appworks Technologies' services has been above $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have been working together for more than 4 years, and have an ongoing project with Appworks Technologies.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The most important feedback, outside of statistics and numbers, is the fact that Appworks Technologies has been our partner in this engagement. We have marketing and advertising partners, but Appworks Technologies is our tech partner.

How did Appworks Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Since we didn't collaborate directly with the developers, project managers were our only communication line. They were able to get us to where we wanted to be.

What did you find most impressive about Appworks Technologies?

Communication stood out for Appworks Technologies. They let us know what the potential issues were. We had a grand plan for what we wanted to do, but Appworks Technologies set our expectations on what would be possible within every iteration, helping us with the project roadmap from that standpoint. We wanted everything to be done at once, which doesn't always work that way.

The user interface developed by Appworks Technologies is the main reason for our current success. Much of the way in which it was built had to do with Appworks Technologies' design.

Are there any areas Appworks Technologies could improve?

There's always room for improvement, but I can't think of anything at the moment. We have a great relationship with Appworks Technologies.
