I'm the founder of My Storytime Adventure, an educational mobile application. We create choose-your-path stories for parents and kids. Users can be part of the story, make decisions, learn core values, and earn rewards.

What challenge were you trying to address with Appsketiers?

We needed help bringing our app vision to life. We wanted to create a storybook app that could entertain children while teaching them core values.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Appsketiers has handled the technical development and implementation of the app, turning our concepts and designs into a functioning product. Their work includes front-end and back-end development, database and infrastructure setup, integrating features and third-party services, testing and debugging, optimizing performance, preparing the app for deployment, and supporting the launch process. Appsketiers has been responsible for the technical build and delivery of the app based on our original concept, feature requirements, and designs. They have developed the user-facing app experience, built the underlying technical infrastructure, implemented the interactive choose-your-path story functionality, connected rewards and progress features, handled testing and bug fixes, and prepared the app for deployment and launch.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Appsketiers has delivered user interface and admin panel live previews and screenshots. We've compared them against our mock-ups and Appsketiers agreement to ensure all expectations are being met.

How did Appsketiers perform from a project management standpoint?

It's difficult to say because we introduced some new features during the middle of the project that pushed out the timeline. We communicate with them through virtual meetings and emails or messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their collaboration and diligence in realizing our vision have been impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could provide more frequent updates on how the project is going. Maybe a monthly notice of where the project is at.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

If you're considering building an app, I can't recommend The Appsketiers enough. When I first came to them, all I had was an idea. I knew exactly what I wanted the app to do, but I had no idea how to communicate that in a way developers would understand. Coming from the beauty industry, talking to tech professionals sometimes felt like we were speaking two completely different languages. What impressed me most was that they genuinely took the time to understand my vision. They didn't just build an app—they invested the time to learn my industry, understand the problems I was trying to solve, and make sure every feature served a purpose. 
They asked questions, listened, and truly cared about getting it right. I have high expectations when it comes to business, and Aaron was incredibly patient throughout the entire process. He supported me every step of the way, communicated honestly, and always made me feel like my project mattered. The process did take a little longer than I originally expected, but looking back, I'm actually grateful for that. I'd much rather have a team that takes the time to build something exceptional than rush out a product that isn't ready. 
The final result exceeded my expectations. My app launches next week, and I couldn't be happier with what we've created together. Turning an idea into a real, polished app is no small task, and The Appsketiers made that dream a reality. Thank you, Aaron, and the entire Appsketiers team. Understanding the app initially they kind of missed the mark with that. However, they were able to make up for that and undestand the app and its needs more greatly once we got a little farther along in the process

The app started off as just an idea. Appsketiers provided all the tools to deliver an outstanding application. They designed the format of the app (text, colors, layout). They coded the entire project which is the most difficult part of the application. The project was organized into three phases. Each phase was always completed in the said time frame. They kept me updated with every step of the process.

I was extremely pleased with the outcome of each phase of the project. Appsketiers delivered everything they promised and more. Once one part of the project was completed, Appsketiers would show me the finished piece. They also did not continue forward with any other part of the project  until I had approved it. They laid out the timelines honestly so I was able to keep track of progress.

Every phase was completed in the timeline that was promised. Appsketiers answered to my needs almost immediately. I never waited more than 30 minutes for a call back or response. They were on top of every aspect of my project.

I found it very impressive that they were always kind and respectful of my needs. It is hard to find a company in this day and age that remains on their A game from start to finish. I never once felt uncomfortable with my project in their hands. Their honesty and the skills they provide in regards to designing the app were impeccable. When I was presented my app, there were no big changes that needed to be made. I was so pleased with the final outcome.

No I thought the entire process went smoothly and efficiently.  They are very organized and structured.

One communication platform with all team members involved for each various steps of the app creation and development. Each step and progress were consistently communicated between Appsketiers and myself as the client.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive about Appsketiers is their company structure and process. I truly was impressed about having the one place for all the team members assigned to the various development steps to make it so easy to communicate with myself and have all steps unfold so seamlessly. They are very well-structured for efficiency and to keep you up to date on everything that is being worked on.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Appsketiers could have done differently?

The only thing I would suggest is to possibly have one last meeting with the manager/main contact as a sort of "close out" meeting instead of just sending over the information. I think your clients would benefit and appreciate this step, just as it was done in the begining to break down the steps that will happen sort of a "kick off" phone call, this would great to have to break down the steps as well for when the app has been completed.

My biggest uncertainty is how do I go from launch to having 1,000,000 users. I would love if Appsketiers could help me with this uncertainty. I don't know if they offer these services but other than that I feel as if i have been in good hands all along

“I’m currently in an ongoing app project with Appsketiers, and to be honest it has been one of the most difficult business relationships I’ve ever experienced. I started this project in July 2024, and instead of a branded, polished app, I was given something very generic and disappointing. The app is missing many components that were agreed on in the BRS, and I don’t have a usable app. The missing components include branding, a Stripe setup, an analytics page, Apple and Google Pay options, monetization, and a useful app dashboard.  One thing I wish I had known up front: all of their work is outsourced. At no point was I informed of this, and I think that’s something every buyer deserves to know. If you don’t want your project handled by third parties you’ve never met, this isn’t the company for you.   The owner, Nick, has also been condescending and hard to work with. Every step forward feels like pulling teeth.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

While the project is technically still in progress, I want to share this as a cautionary note to anyone considering working with them: buyer beware. Appsketiers hasn’t communicated with me aside from me making my scheduled payments on time. They said they would be quiet while they were busy working on my app, so I trusted them and let them work without bugging them. I was hoping to see some mock-ups along the way on what my app was looking like and how it was progressing, but all I ever got was "We are working on it, and these things take time."

Additionally, I was unaware that my app is not being handled in-house like I thought it was when I hired them; it is outsourced out of the country, so technically I have not talked to an actual person who is working on my app; Appsketiers misled me to believe they handle it in-house.

Their project management was extremely poor. Deadlines were consistently missed, communication was vague or dismissive, and they often shifted responsibility back onto me instead of addressing the problems directly. Deliverables were not provided on time, and when they were, the quality was subpar and far off from the brand standards I had clearly outlined. Overall, the process was disorganized, frustrating, and not transparent, leaving me with more problems to solve rather than real progress. My expected timeline was 4–6 months, but it’s been a year and a half. I was hoping to see some mock-ups along the way of what my app was looking like and how it was progressing, but all I’ve gotten is that they’re working on it and that these things take time. We communicate through Basecamp.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The only unique aspect I found was their ability to present themselves well during the sales process. They spoke confidently about their capabilities and seemed convincing at the start. Unfortunately, that professionalism didn’t carry through to execution or delivery. What stood out most was the gap between how they marketed themselves versus what was actually delivered.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Appsketiers could have done differently?

There are many areas where Appsketiers could improve. Transparency is the biggest one—being upfront about outsourcing and actual capabilities would have set clearer expectations. Stronger project management is also needed: meeting deadlines, documenting changes, and keeping the client updated on progress. Communication should be more solution-focused rather than defensive. Most importantly, they could benefit from listening to client needs instead of delivering generic, cookie-cutter products that don’t align with what was promised.

Appsketiers were given the idea of the app that we wanted developed and within a couple of months delivered a structrural layout of the app with graghical concepts. Given approval, the development of the app proceeded along with the creation of an advertisment within the first six months. Full completion of the app was finished and launched within two years after the layout.

Appsketiers was completely hands-on, interacting regularly with us during the app's development stages with constant input from the client. This resulted in A+ communication combined with flexibility on behalf of the client.

The consistant interaction and suggested input from the client on the development of the app is what we found to be very impressive to us.

There is nothing that we could think of that Appsketiers could have done better on the develoment of this project. We are highly satisfied and very thankful with the completion of this product.

They delivered nothing, the company had no knowledge of what they built. So this is hard to describe, they did however offered, an app that would be used by consumers to unite businesses, but they did not deliver anything that was functional.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

When we began the work, they delivered on understanding the project, were Appsketiers seems to demonstrate a skill that makes the customer feel comfortable, thaw work on the other hand speaks volumes.

The owner would call if you did not approve the project, saying statements that signing the approve phase did not mean that I agree with the work, that signing would move the project to the next level and the next phase would cover all the issues. This turn to be a lie.

The progress was to move the project as quickly as possible whether issues were still there or not. The progress is set for appsketier and not the client.

The project was delivered even though it continued to have issues of crashing and app was not functioning.

The team continued to blame the client and seemed to distant themselves slowly from the project and made sure that all the issues fell after the 60 days so you could not rebuttal.

They don't respond to your needs and make you feel that you're a problem. They have no idea why the app is crashing or what they built. It's all smoke and mirrors.

The owner sounded very confident, and charismatic, trust worthy by being skilled while influencing his expert reviews, etc.

This is the only part that he excels in, but uses this as his advantage.

Stop building Apps, and stop  telling customers to do a review in the first phase. Even Trust Pilot has concerns about his orchestrated reviews.

Appsketiers took my idea and made it into a reality. After a few quick consultations, they helped me hone in on a feasible scope for the project. After they came up with an animated marketing promo and then it was on to development. 

A few months later they returned with a beta presentation for the functionality and use of the app. I couldn't have been more impressed. It was visually appealing, functional, and most important, easy to navigate. And throughout the entire process the team, who I met a significant number of, were transparent, helpful, and patient. I would recommend their services to anyone who has an app idea that they are trying to create.

Ther cohesiveness. All of the team members were positive and proactive, and all were looped in on the project. I cannot remember a time that I had to describe anything about the project. I was really impressed with the depth of their understanding and their affability.

The goal of this application is to provide a platform where HBCU students can network with each other and access useful event/job/internship information. 

• App flow and design Screens   
  • Splash: display the splash screen when users download and open the application.
  • Login: The screen allows the user to log in via. Email and Password. If the user forgot the password, they can click on the “Forgot password” and enter the registered email ID. A verification code will be sent to their email to retrieve the password. 
  • Sign Up: The user will be able to sign up using their email, and password and re-enter the password.
  • Enter the Verification code: This screen allows the users to enter the 4-digit OTP (that they have received over their email), and password, and confirm the password that they have received over their email.
  • Resend button: It will allow the users to Resend the OTP in case they have not received the OTP. 
  • Create Profile with Upload School Id: This screen allows the user to create their profile by uploading the below details
    • Upload a Photo: The user will be able to upload a photo for their profile picture.
    • Birthdate: The user will be able to select their birthday from the date picker.
    • Gender: The user will be able to select their Gender.
    • Select School: The user will be able to select their school name from the database uploaded from the backend.
    • Your School Year: The user will be able to choose what school year they are currently in. 
    • Study Major: The user will be able to select their study major uploaded by the backend user.
    • Home Town:  The user will be able to add their hometown name in this free text field. (Do we just want to do States? Not cities? )
    • Bio: The user will be able to add bio details in this free text field.
    • Hobbies/Interest: The user will be able to add their hobbies in this free text field.
  • Home Screen: This is the home screen where the user can view the profile of the other user’s post. 
    • Filter icon - This allows the user to filter users shown to them by their:

  • Matched user image: After applying the filter, the user can view another user’s profile picture, which is matched according to their likes.
  • User name: The user will be able to view matched user’s username.

  • School Name: The user will be able to view the school name of the matched user.
  • Major: The user can view matched user’s study Major that they added to their profile.
  • School Year: The user will be able to view matched user’s School year that they added to their profile. 
• Swipe Right (View Next Profile): When you swipe right on the user profile, the user will be able to view the next matched profile with the same details. 
• Chat Screen: The user will be able to chat with the other matched users. They can exchange text, images, and videos with each other.
• Feed Page: The user will be able to view all the events, job postings, internship opportunities, etc. on this page with their image and description.
• Note: The backend admin user will upload this content. (Will I get a tutorial on how to upload information?)
• Post Detail View: The user will be able to view the detail screen of the feeds with their image and description (in text).
• Profile detail view: This screen allows a user to view their profile with the below details:

• How well they were able to make my vision come true and user experience.

The entire team is amazing. I have great chemistry with the entire team. They always delivered on time.  And if there was a delay they communicated that. They are really a great group to work with.  I couldn't imagine doing this withoug them.

Their positiv energy all of the time. They seemed to be invested as much as I was. They care about me. When I met them at their office they were so welcoming. It's not just about making money. They believed in me and my project and it made me feel good.

Not really. Except they could probably beef up their marketing so more people know about them...but that all depends on how big they want to get.
