Applify was hired to collaborate with our in-house team to enhance our Ed-Tech SaaS platform. Their scope of work included developing mobile and web applications, automating DevOps processes, and conducting Well-Architected reviews on our cloud environment. They focused on creating user-friendly interfaces for both iOS and Android platforms. 
They implemented features like user dashboards and real-time collaboration tools for web applications, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and optimal performance.

To streamline our DevOps process, they set up CI/CD pipelines for automated code building and testing, and scalable application deployment using tools like Docker and Kubernetes. They used Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to manage cloud resources and set up monitoring and logging tools for performance tracking.

They conducted Well-Architected reviews to evaluate and optimize our cloud infrastructure, focusing on security, reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency. Offering more proactive training sessions on new tools and processes throughout the project, rather than primarily at the end, would have also enhanced our team's ability to integrate these innovations smoothly. These minor adjustments would help elevate their service to an even higher standard.

I’m the CEO of The Golf Revolution.

What challenge were you trying to address with APPLIFY?

We needed a vendor to help us create a prototype of a golf fantasy application. We only had a concept in mind.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we first had 3–4 calls with APPLIFY to explain the app we wanted to create. They had no clue about the sport, so we also spent time talking about golf with them. Once they understood everything, we proceeded with the work; they helped us build a prototype of the app based on our requirements.

Golf is typically an individual game, so we turned it into a team event in the app. There are over 200 golf events happening all across the world, so users can pick events that are based on actual events. From there, they can pick their team and check out player credentials, success rate, and failure rate. The tournament goes on for four days, and the app itself gives pointers based on the rules set in the backend. It also allows players to bet or play with points.

APPLIFY only created a prototype that we plan to showcase to investors. When the app gets developed, we plan to make it available for both Android and iOS users.

What is the team composition?

There was a team of designers made up of four to six people, including a supervisor. There was one project lead that picked each team member based on their skill set.

How did you come to work with APPLIFY?

We looked at multiple vendors and took three factors into consideration: delivery, cost-effectiveness, and quality. We saw some of APPLIFY’s previous work, which met all of the criteria. They also did similar projects in the sports industry and had experience in creating mobile apps that were funded by venture capital firms.

We spent around $5,000 on this project.

We worked together on this project from June–July 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They participated a lot in the growth of our business — as a matter of fact, they over delivered by providing us with several design options throughout the project. Also, they gave us a lot of great feedback about creating a fantasy game app.

How did APPLIFY perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent. They kept the project below $6,000 and were able to complete it within a month. For communication, we interacted through email and held phone calls to discuss tasks and progress. We knew exactly what was going on throughout. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their designers were impressive — they delivered quality work and spent a lot of time understanding our business. Moreover, they always asked questions about the rules of the sport, conducted their own research,  and came up with ideas to further improve the overall design. Overall, their team went above and beyond in helping us develop a good product.

I can’t think of anything. We were 100% satisfied with their work.
