I’m the IT team lead for Nadace České spořitelny, a non-profit organization. We design and deliver impactful financial education programs while supporting individuals and organizations in building skills and stronger communities. We help people of all ages develop their potential and contribute to a more financially healthy society.

What challenge were you trying to address with Applifting?

We needed to develop our new digital platform for financial education. It was intended to reach schools and teachers across the Czech Republic and help foster financial literacy of all children in the Czech Republic as a result.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Applifting has developed our digital platform, Skoala, from scratch. We’ve provided the strategy and knowledge, and Applifting has handled the development. The team has delivered the full product, starting from the initial analysis, proposing the architecture and used frameworks, creating the design, and conducting user testing. Applifting has also developed an ecosystem of multiple web applications and handled testing and QA. Skoala is technically an ecosystem of multiple applications. There are two client-facing web applications and two administration applications that serve for content management. One of them is a headless CMS, and the other is a completely unique solution tailored according to the specific needs of our content.

What is the team composition?

Throughout the whole project, we’ve worked with 20+ teammates from Applifting, in different roles. It was always mutually agreed which roles were needed for each phase of the project to ensure smooth delivery.

How did you come to work with Applifting?

Applifting participated in the RFP for our project. We chose them because they offered good value for the cost, and their company values aligned with ours. Applifting won the RFP by the combination of the high quality of their proposal combined with reasonable pricing.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Applifting in January 2024, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen many measurable outcomes, starting from the number of registered users, user feedback measured on different levels and in different areas, and user activity on the platform. One year after the official launch of Skoala, we had registered teachers from 65% of all primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic, with multiple teachers registered per school, resulting in 12.000+ registered teachers. Regarding other metrics, our initial NPS was already high, but it keeps improving with further phases of the project. Starting at 74 during preproduction testing, and now it’s 84. What's more, Skoala won the prestigious EIFLE award in category Children’s Education Programs of the Year: General.

How did Applifting perform from a project management standpoint?

Applifting has always delivered on time. During the whole project, I’ve had zero doubts about their project management skills. Also thanks to clear communication via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, and email or messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s hard to pick just one thing as Applifting is unique in so many ways. They’re highly product-oriented and do their best to deliver the best solution possible. The team often goes the extra mile and isn’t afraid to come up with ideas or challenge us if they’re not sure it’s the best one. Rather than just a vendor, Applifting is a partner with the same goal as us: to deliver the best solutions possible and cause the right impact.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s always room for improvement, but nothing particular comes to my mind.

Figma graphic designs, that were used for app redesign. Preparedeness for expansion. Product strategy.

There were a slight delays, caused by some health issues and not clear set of expectations from our side.But Applifting was always transparent and complied with our needs.

A comparable system deployed at competitor took over 2 years to develop, while Applifting completed MVP within 2 months and final full specs version in 8 months.

Project was managed in a classic agile structure with revolving short time scrum periods for gradual improvements and incremental extensions of functionality.
