Anyday®'s asynchronous project management approach to design and development was unique given our experience with other brand and development firms. This was a great match for us as we are remote-first team stretched across many time zones. Are there any areas for improvement or something Anyday® could have done differently?

From a design aspect, we could have seen more options. This would have no doubt lengthened the project, but we may have ended up with an even better outcome. That said, maybe we would have ended up right in the same spot!

Anyday completed all deliverables on time and notified us of potential delays due to aspects such as holidays or late review submissions by us. Anyday was accommodating when a number of emergencies and conflicts arose for stakeholders, pivoting with us when we rotated our point persons on several occasions.

With numerous stakeholders involved, there were multiple sets of perspectives and expectations that Anyday had to satisfy. Anyday worked tirelessly to meet and exceed our expectations, no matter how many design and review sessions were required.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We interviewed multiple agencies and chose Anyday for a number of reasons, one being the quality of work showcased on their website. However, the differentiator came down to who they are as people, and the values they held. As a company and as individuals, we value honesty, transparency, and teamwork. When speaking with Anyday®, we felt we related and aligned with them on these values the most.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Anyday® could have done differently?

One area that was challenging during the engagement was alignment. We were at the height of the pandemic when methods of communication were changing drastically and also come from different backgrounds, which posed both physical and knowledge barriers as we were in separate locations and have different knowledge bases and understandings.

This impacted our ability to quickly align on the best methods of communication and collaboration for our teams given the circumstances. However, Anyday worked to solve this, continually adapting and adjusting their own established processes throughout the engagement to accommodate our team and how we communicated/worked best.

I’m a corporate strategist for Twig Fertility, a reproductive health startup based in Toronto, Canada. In my role, I manage a lot of our business relations, our whole strategy, and the operational work on our digital marketing front.

What challenge were you trying to address with Anyday®?

As a startup, we needed a website. From a brand perspective, our biggest element was a beautiful physical space — its interior design was a big part of our brand identity. Based on it, we already had our logo and brand strategy, but we needed help with having our physical space emulated online. Additionally, we wanted to communicate a very complex medical service in a very straightforward way through an easy-to-navigate website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Anyday® helped us design and develop our website from scratch based on our vision and our physical space. Their team also helped us design new imagery based on our brand guidelines, as well as other illustrative elements to help us define our visual identity.

Moreover, Anyday® did a lot of design work on the backend regarding the site’s formatting and navigation. As for the technology stack, they used WordPress to build the website and Adobe to create the designs.

Our website communicates who we are, highlights our team and our expertise, and goes into detail about complex services and the journeys a patient would go through. Additionally, it has a booking functionality with a waitlist, some forms, and a blog. The site has a very simple interface; its more complex feature to develop was the booking functionality.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Danny (Partner), who helped us at the beginning with relationship management. From there, we worked with Sam (Dev Lead & Manager), who was our main point of contact; Jessica (Design Lead), who helped us create the aesthetic for the site; and Dhruv (Full Stack Developer), who helped us with the more technical aspects.

How did you come to work with Anyday®?

We found them on Google. We did a lot of research and cross-referencing on local web developers, and Anyday® was the best candidate to address our needs.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $25,000–$45,000 CAD (approximately $18,000–$33,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2021, and Anyday® launched the website in October 2021. However, we still work with them on a support basis, which has been really helpful. If there are updates needed to be made, they make them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Anyday® did a fantastic job at building our website and bringing our vision to life. Their team was able to effectively design beautiful pages that communicate very complex journey maps. Thus far, the site has been working well.

We’ve received very positive feedback from patients and peers in the space, telling us that our website is an exceptional communication tool, helping them navigate the fertility space easily. Additionally, a couple of our peers have used our website for inspiration to create their own. Our very positive feedback is a testament to the great work that Anyday® did.

How did Anyday® perform from a project management standpoint?

Anyday® delivered the website in a very timely manner and on budget. They were actually very flexible in working within our budget. If anything, we were the ones who created the most delays because it took us some time to get the copy together and go through the approval process with our many stakeholders. Still, Anyday® was incredibly patient with us, as well as very capable of meeting deadlines.

In addition to that, Anyday®’s communication was fantastic; they were always accessible when needed. Even to this day, they help me immediately when I need something, and they’re very responsive and accommodating. We used Google Meet to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Anyday®’s customer service was their most impressive asset. Their team was a testament to the quality of their work, and they were an absolute pleasure to collaborate with. Throughout the project, they were very helpful and overall fantastic. They were the reason why our working relationship was so successful.

In addition to that, the quality of Anyday®’s work was also outstanding. The product they delivered was exactly what we needed.

There’s nothing Anyday® could have improved on. I can speak highly about them based on my experience.

I’m the owner and broker of Williams2 Real Estate, a real estate company in the Cayman Islands. My husband is also the co-owner; we’re a ten-year-old company. The project was an arduous process. We initially spent six months doing a constructive deep dive into me, my husband, and anybody who has ever worked for us, including our agents, buyers, sellers, and developers.

We were mainly in contact with Danny (Partner & Operations). However, we worked with everybody from their team, from the managing director to the web designers and brand specialists.

We searched on Google for advertising agencies in Toronto. We sent messages to three agencies and looked at their websites and previous work. Anyday® was the first to respond. In our world, response time is incredibly important, so we went with them.

We spent about $150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2019, and they finished the project 18 months later.

Anyday® completely repositioned us; they did a phenomenal job. We now have a clean, sophisticated, and scalable brand. Anyday® truly got us; they understood our culture and respected who we were. They changed our tagline into something entirely different in tone and message to convey what we wanted to present to the world. We were incredibly happy with what they produced.

How did Anyday® perform from a project management standpoint?

Working with them was an absolute pleasure. We had a world-class, incredible experience. We communicated through personal phone or Zoom calls once a week; they had a huge emphasis on personal touch. In the end, we actually became friends.

They were professionals. Anyday® did a remarkable job. We had nothing but the highest respect for them; they were a phenomenal advertising and marketing agency.

For what projects/services did your company hire Anyday®, and what were your goals?

Our website was developed with a page builder and a patchwork of code and plugins. This resulted in a website that was slow to load and that wasn't scalable or easy to update in-house. We hired Anyday to build a new CMS, develop a reusable components library, migrate over 300 pages of web content and all CRM/Sage integrations to the new CMS, ensure the site is AODA compliant and fix on-page SEO configuration.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The company that built our original website stopped building and supporting WordPress sites and brought on Anyday to assume our website support and maintenance for the remainder of that year. We were impressed with Anyday's positivity, customer service, tech skills and strategic thinking. We enjoyed working with them so much, it was a no-brainer to renew our support and maintenance contract and to hire them for additional work, such as building our new CMS.

Deliverables included:

1. a robust content editor built by Anyday + the migration of over 300 pages of content and ensuring all API endpoints are also migrated;
2. a reusable component library;
3. accessibility development to achieve AODA compliance;
4. proper on-page SEO configuration on main content pages;
5. testing and review; and
6. launch and post-launch support.

One full stack developer for sure (their Development Lead). There were likely others on the team.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The work Anyday performed improved our website’s infrastructure, scalability, speed and accessibility, along with our productivity and marketing efforts. These improvements also save us money as there is less reliance on our web consultancy to make changes to our site because we are able to make them ourselves without code. Our website also went from a nine-second load time to a 0.5-second load time. We continue to retain Anyday's services for website support and maintenance.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We were presented with a scope of work, including timeline and investment. Anyday's Development Lead was our project manager. We were in regular communication by email and met at least once a week by Google Meet. Our team used a Google Sheet to log any issues for Anyday to resolve. Anyday worked well with our team as well as our IT consultant, CRM consultant and Sage consultant.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The folks at Anyday are not only smart and talented, but they are also great people. Their genuine interest in our organization, the relationship they're fostering with us and their customer service is most impressive. They have become an extension of our team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

While the weekly check-in meetings were helpful and productive, a shared document or a shared project management board in Monday.com, for example, would have provided more line of sight into the status of the project.

BACKGROUND

I’m the manager of marketing, communications, and fundraising at The Glenn Gould Foundation. We’re a small organization with around three full-time people. Our group does various things. Specifically, we’re starting a new program on music and mental health, and our target audience is teens aged 13–20 years.

What challenge were you trying to address with Anyday?

We worked with a musician who had suffered severe childhood trauma, and in his published books, he essentially said that music saved his life. Given that, we wanted to start a musical website targeted at teens and the youth. We wanted to give them opportunities to use music to cope with their challenges. A lot of them had concerns about trauma, and the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t help them go through those mental health challenges. Through the website, the kids would know that they weren’t alone; they could also use it as a community platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our team needed Anyday to do various things, such as develop our logo, branding, and social media channels. We didn’t have a website at that time, so we had to start from scratch. We also planned to put a lot of videos on the site, so our team had to figure out how to do that efficiently. Anyday had to coordinate all of these with us. 

To elaborate on the process, we hired two writers who’d done young adult fiction before. They handled the words and content of the website. Then, we had a meeting with Anyday and gave them what we had. Our team clarified that the site wasn’t a word-based site — it was a music-based site with plenty of graphics, engaging colors, and easy navigation. 

From there, Anyday developed our branding, logo, and everything else on WordPress. We asked them to prioritize security to avoid issues on confidentiality and safety since our target audience consisted of kids. Everything about security and privacy had to be absolutely locked down.

So far, our engagement continues, but it’s a bit less now since most of the work has been done. We’re doing small changes and tweaks here and there, and then we’re going live in mid-January 2022.

What is the team composition?

We’ve collaborated with around 8–12 people from their team, and I work directly with Vincent (Founding Partner) and their technology people. We talk to a variety of people from their team depending on the task at hand. In other words, we don’t have a main point of contact; the collaboration is fluid. 

How did you come to work with Anyday?

We found Anyday through a referral from somebody who had previously worked at our foundation. Our team also had a shortlist of about three companies, and we liked Anyday’s pitch the most. We liked their expertise and thought that they could do the job; the team was adaptable and easy to work with, so we picked them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $35,000–$40,000 CAD (approximately $27,000–$31,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the partnership in June 2021, and we’re still working with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We don’t have any quantitative metrics yet since the website hasn’t gone live. However, we’ve shared the website’s template with various people, and everybody seems to love it. Everyone describes the site as fun, lively, and informative. 

Moreover, Anyday has designed a great logo, and it has a music-related central motif. We’ve used this motif in various other assets throughout the website. Overall, people who have seen the site say that it’s good, colorful, and lively — that’s what we want. 

How did Anyday perform from a project management standpoint?

Anyday’s project management is good. They’re responsive, adaptable, and available. I’m not well-versed in music so I ask many questions, and the team is always precise with answers. 

Meanwhile, I don’t know what project management tool they use on their side, but we’ve used a system where we can provide comments on their drafts immediately about what we like and dislike.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

Anyday understands what we want. Working with mental health themes isn’t easy; not everybody can deal with it.  As such, this project has required more sympathy, sensitivity, and interest, and we need people who understand our audience. We don’t want to talk down to the kids because they’re smart, but we also have to address troubling things that happen to their lives. Anyday understands this truly well. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend working with Anyday. They’re lively and enthusiastic, and they have lots of energy. The team is also adaptable, and their resources listen well. On top of that, their members are good with technology, design, and branding. They offer a complete package when it comes to design and technology.

We needed to modernize our website, so our goals were to streamline the UX and backend to increase usability.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Anyday initially worked with us to develop the website architecture. They mapped out different pages and the platform’s overall layout. Their team then worked on the design elements such as fonts and colors.

After completing the architecture and design, they moved onto the development phase. Their team built our new website based on the decisions we collectively made during the architecture and design processes. After they finished the development, we went through several rounds of edits and testing. Now, Anyday takes care of website updates, maintenance, and security.

What is the team composition?

During the first phase, we mostly worked with two people. We then worked with two different people during the development and testing phases.

How did you come to work with Anyday?

We sent a request for quotations to a number of companies and then Anyday responded. Based on their presentation, we decided to go with them.

There were a couple of reasons why we felt Anyday was the best fit for us. First of all, they were knowledgeable. It was clear they understood what we needed to do and clearly explained that plan to us. Lastly, their team took the time to listen to our needs during the selection process. We felt that they would be able to build a website based on our needs.

What is the status of this engagement?

We sent out the request for quotation around June 2020 and then interviewed companies in July. The work actually began in August, and Anyday completed the project in January 2021. However, we signed an ongoing contract with them.

We received a lot of positive feedback from members of our community regarding the website’s look and usability. We appreciate that their team’s professional and detailed too. They’re nice, good people. It’s always a pleasure interacting with their team.

How did Anyday perform from a project management standpoint?

We had weekly meetings on Google Meets and communicated via email as needed. Their team used Asana and there was a different tool for reviewing and providing feedback on the website. They kept an eye on timelines and effectively managed the pace of the project. Their team’s super organized and keeps in clear communication with us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Anyday listened and ensured their team understood our needs, which the website reflected. I can’t understate how important it is for vendors to listen to their clients and to ensure their understanding of what clients want to accomplish. Anyday also communicates well, so everything’s clear. By keeping us in the loop, their team ensures there aren't surprises.

No, we’re so happy with their work and process.

Take the time to think about what you need and want because Anyday will translate your goals into their work. As a client, it’s also important that you keep track of the project. Make your requirements and deadlines clear. Anyday will make sure that happens for you.

I am the Support Specialist at QOLA. QOLA is a web based application that is used in 36+ Retirement Homes across Canada. We provide a system that helps staff better serve the residents.

For what projects/services did your company hire Anyday?

Our company started back in 2012 and the site was in need of an update. We did not have any in-house designers, so we decided it was best to outsource the design to ensure we ended up with the best look!

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to focus on the visual aspect of the site, but also wanted to make it even more user friendly. Having it look more modern was key, but we also wanted to make sure our current users would easily understand the flow changes made.

SOLUTION

How did you select Anyday?

My team and I had searched online and found a few companies. After reading some reviews and getting an idea of their work, we reached out to Anyday. Once we saw they understood what we were trying to accomplish and had some great ideas from the get-go, we knew we found the one.

Once we chose Anyday, we had a series of calls to discuss the goals and objectives. We were redesigning the entire site so there was a lot of wireframes to go over. Once we were happy with the wireframes, they showed us a few designs.

After a few more calls, the whole project came together! A call would consist of their team and mine, discussing what works, what doesn't. Anyday was amazing at suggesting UI/UX ideas that we would have never thought of just based off of a few initial calls.

What was the team composition?

When we started the process, the Design Director was the point of contact. He introduced us to our Project Manager, who then took over as point of contact but the Design Director would still be available to answer any questions when needed and even checked in from time to time to make sure everything was going smoothly.

The Project Manager was fantastic as well. He was quick with responding to any questions and was always available if we needed to book more calls than originally scheduled. He had great ideas and was extremely patient with us when we would be going over the designs he sent over. We ended the project with a call with both the Design Director and the Project Manager!

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We haven't implemented the full project onto our site yet, but we are extremely excited to get to that point! We are happy that the task of thinking about the UX/UI is done. Once we complete the process of updating our site, I will be back to give another review!!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was fantastic! Emails were always answered in a timely manner and they were always great at scheduling extra calls than originally booked. We felt we could be completely honest about the project. If there was something we didn't like, they took the feedback and after a small discussion they would always come back with something that fit our vision perfectly!

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Our system is very complex, we had a lot of pages that required a lot of detail, and they were able to get everything we wanted by the end of it. Because we were not going to be implementing these designs right away, they made sure we had everything we would need for when we do start the process. Wireframes, information for our developers, etc.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Honestly, I don't think this process could have gone any better. We are super happy with the process during and the product after! We will definitely keep them in mind for any future projects we have!

We hired Limn to create a new website for us. Our old one was on Wix and we wanted a slicker look.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a slicker look and feel to match our tech company. We wanted to be able to track analytics on the site. We wanted a more sophisticated feel to the site to match how contemporary websites look.

SOLUTION

How did you select Limn Design?

We set a budget and began searching - I found Clutch.co by searching "Toronto web design" and looked at vendors that matched our price range. Limn seemed to be a good match of slick design while understanding our goals.

Describe the project in detail.

We had an entirely new website built from scratch. We did the copy and content of the site but Limn suggested several design options. First they started with mood boards to get a sense of our tastes and then turned that into a sample homepage for us.

What was the team composition?

Vincent led the project, Danny helped get the backend sorted out, Sam worked on getting us acclimated to WordPress and those sorts of changes and Greg led the design work. Mostly worked one on one with Vincent, who helped guide the process along quickly and efficiently.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Everyone that sees the site agrees it is better than the older one. I think it will be easy to scale up and add pages as well.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The Limn team used an Adobe software (I believe) to track changes and notes on the site, which was helpful to be able to point out specific things we did/didn't like. I had weekly meetings with Vincent which helped make sure we were aligned on goals for the weeks ahead.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their other design work was very impressive and I liked that they had worked with a variety of different companies, in different sectors.

The sites they had on their website showcased a lot of different feels (i.e. a retail site that was very in-line with retail branding today, a site for some sort of online banking that felt in line with that style of branding, I think even something industrial). The variety of work put me at ease that they would be able to deliver on our requests.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We were happy with the level of communication from Limn and the speed the website was completed in. Vincent made sure things flowed smoothly. It's difficult making multiple stakeholders happy but the team happily made changes far past the time for edits to be made.

On our side, understanding the whole process from the beginning may have made things run smoother (i.e. after X date, design changes are not to be made) - Vincent communicated that clearly, but perhaps when working with newbies, an even more straightforward plan that they require sign off on from the whole team (i.e. so other stakeholders are also aware of deadlines/expectations) might be good.

So a sort of "explain like I'm 5" scenario.

I am the cofounder and president of a firm. We are a business that started January 2020 in the residential and commercial automation industry. We design, engineer, and install such systems at our clients homes and offices.

For what projects/services did your company hire Limn Design?

Since the incorporation of our business early this year, we needed to create our basic designs and marketing assets for our company. We got in contact with Limn Design, to help us create our basic marketing strategy with the correct design assets.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a design that no other competitor in our industry had, which will represent us as a company through our marketing materials to the client.

How did you select this vendor?

I have known one of the partners from Limn Design for some years now and I have always seen his work. After having a meeting with him and his other partner, I knew Limn Design was the perfect candidate to do our project. I felt comfortable and that they were able to see my vision.

Describe the project in detail.

We had a list of digital and printable assets we wanted to be design with an open mind on the flow and feel of the assets. First they started off with the company logo and not just the look of it but every aspect with them knowing in their mind how all the other assets will look with such logo. After approving the logo, the Limn team went full force creating all other assets with the same continuity across all. Which was the most important aspect to us. We did not want any asset to look like they were pieced in as our company grew and no flow with other assets

What was the team composition?

The team was great to work with, I would hear back from them at all times and we had an open dialogue. They also provided access to their software so I could see the progress of my project at my convenience.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have been able to show our assets to our current clients and receive their feedback, which has been nothing but positive vibes.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The Limn team would provide us with a presentation to review their progress at the end of the week, where we provided feedback on the spot if needed, but also at any given point we could reach out to them and request a change, which they were always welcoming the changes.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I found a lot of aspects of Limn Design to be impressive, other than their work being top level work. I find their attitude and love for design to be the most imprecise aspect of the Limn team. Many companies can create top level work but not many companies do with a passion for the work. Their passion and love is represented in their work.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Every business has improvement to continue to grow and achieve higher goals, but I’m our case during this project, I did not see any area for improvement.
