I am head of Training Content. I am responsible for the creation, curation and delivery of eLearning internally and externally for the business. This includes liaising with 3rd party suppliers such as Animotion.

For what projects/services did your company hire Animotion, and what were your goals?

One of our clients wanted a video to introduce their employees to their new Learning Management System. It needed to be no longer than 90 seconds, highly stylized so video could cover any system changes easily. We had created a storyboard but needed somebody to translate that into a high quality video.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I used Freelancer to outline our requirements, I reviewed several options and chose Elliott with Animotion following a conversation with him and reviewing previous work created. We formed a good rapport quickly. He was also responsive and listened carefully to our requirements. No big upsell.

We created a storyboard with various mock up screen shots to map out the video. Elliott reviewed and fed back his suggestions for improvement. We shared our artwork with him too. He also shared options of music and voiceover.

We gave him a demo of the system so he knew what he was describing. We wanted it to be high stylised so the video would stand the test of time when adjustments to the actual software occurred. Elliot approached his in 2 phases. He created an initial version, shared it with us (and we shared with the client) for review and feedback.

I shared the collated feedback with Elliott and he responded quickly with all amends within our agreed timescales. We, and the client, were really pleased with the results.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked directly with Elliott who was always readily available and quick to respond to any feedback. We staged the feedback with a pilot first to minimise the number of times we went back and forth. Our storyboard was very detailed.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Client was extremely happy and we have already approached Elliott for more work for other clients and some internal work as we were so happy with the results.

Elliot was responsive and focussed on exactly what we required. No feedback was too much for him - he tried to responded well and to time.

What challenge were you trying to address with Animotion?

We needed someone to shoot a video promo of our product.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Animotion provided us with their video production services. We’re using the video they produced as a marketing tool so we can reach out to more people.

They created the video from scratch after I gave them the script, and they implemented some animated footage in it as well.

We worked directly with Elliott (Creative Director).

I saw their positive reviews on Freelancer when I was searching for a production company to do this project. They showed me their past work and it helped me decide to go with them.

We spent around $1,000 USD on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from May–August 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don’t know how to apply any metrics to the partnership, but they did a really good job on this project. They were prompt, asked questions, and were very responsive throughout the process.

How did Animotion perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very good from a project management standpoint. They were very communicative and we would have Teams meetings and chat online.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like that they didn’t need that much hand-holding throughout the project. They worked quite fast as they quickly implemented our ideas and helped visualize them in the first draft.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they could improve on.

It’s really important that you provide your requirements in detail, so they can match your imagination and come up with a product that you’re looking for.
