The server was successfully switched over without interruption. IT issues have diminished to the point of stability, including an eliminationof outages under their tenure

Communication was consistent, with additional updates provided for significant developments. The team demonstrated great flexibility, positing options that helped to pull in a substantial lead-time issue.

Any time that a problem manifests which is relevant to their domain I'm able to punt the problem there way and they're able to implement a solution for us. Strategic level plans are well executed, sometimes the basic service desk calls take a bit to get resolved, but rarely more than 24 hours.

Despite their size and scale, they still permit custom billing styles, which we rely on to maximize profitability. In effect, they don't force you to pay for services you may or may not receive, you get what you pay for, and what you pay for is quality service. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Andromeda Technology Solutions could have done differently?

They could have a better triage system or a dedicated line for emergency calls such as a cyber attack or a high priority item. They do triage it once it arrives, but it goes through the same queue as all other tasks and takes some time to funnel in.

We’ve had kickoff calls and rollouts of new security stacks with Andromeda Technology Solutions. They’ve communicated with our employees about contract negotiations. For implementation, they take the lead and guide us on the best practices for what we do. We’ve also had recurring meetings with different managers and departments from their side, depending on what area we’re targeting; they have subject matter experts associated with security, infrastructure, email, and other things. 

Andromeda Technology Solutions hasn’t purchased any hardware for us yet, but it’s one of the services they provide. The team recommends hardware improvements based on the industry's best practices. We haven’t made those purchases yet, but we’ll rely on their help when we acquire the hardware we need. Meanwhile, they mainly do remote work, and if they can’t, they send someone to do on-site work. The team also serves as our fractional CIO and offers network infrastructure management services.

We’ve gained better performance in terms of security, such as blocking spam and phishing attempts. We’ve avoided fraudulent websites and malware. 

How did Andromeda Technology Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Our team has been truly pleased with Andromeda Technology Solutions’ responsiveness, and their timeliness has been great. If they need more time to resolve something, they let us know that they’re working on it. This is better than not hearing anything at all — that’s a huge improvement compared to our previous service provider. They also work under budget. 

For tools, they use a ticketing system to manage our needs. We use Zoom or Microsoft Teams for weekly recurring meetings and emails to communicate with our customer success manager. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like that they’ve assigned a dedicated manager to us. We can go to that person when we have questions; she doesn’t always know the answer, but she can help find the right person from their team to answer us. 

Moreover, Andromeda Technology Solutions has true subject matter experts who are outstanding. Their communication is fantastic, and they’re great at helping us understand and do what we should be doing. We don’t have a strong IT background, and the team has been mindful of that. They’re thoughtful of the way they go about helping us improve what we’re doing. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Even though they work below our budget, some of the onboarding costs have been slightly higher than expected. Nonetheless, we’d have been happier if they’d given us a bigger range. To be fair, they’ve had to evaluate more items than expected.

We’ve been able to transition to the Microsoft 365 platform successfully and have received less phishing emails. This transition has allowed us to more easily share information and work efficiently. The antivirus has also been effective, and we’ve been able to control who connects to our infrastructure.

We were upgrading our network, and at one point, we could have used a clearer explanation for the decisions that were being made.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Andromeda supports all of our clinical and business workstations; they also support our connectivity at a professional building. We connect to their network and also have our own servers for maintaining data and information within our surgery centers. Moreover, the team collaborates with our medical record vendor to ensure we have the support and connectivity needed to keep our electronic medical records running. 

State and federal laws require us to maintain an archive of medical records, so Andromeda also supports us there. Overall, they make sure that our staff has the accessibility and functionality that we need while working in the office and during the after-hours when working remotely. 

Andromeda has also purchased and installed hardware for us. They recommend what equipment to get, and we decide on a budget. The team also ensures that everything they purchase, install, or implement is functional. We either call them and collaborate remotely or they visit us on-site as needed. They’ve previously visited us every Monday to troubleshoot issues, but as we build stability, we’ve decreased our need for in-person support.

In addition to that, they maintain our firewalls and send out random tests to assess our weaknesses. They’re also involved in our policy development with the current standards and requirements to ensure our HIPAA compliance, which protects our patient health information.

We’ve dealt with Carl (Director of Sales & Senior Account Manager), who has been involved with us regularly in the beginning. They’ve since assigned Steve (Senior Technical Account Manager) to us, and we’ve had regular calls with him for our ongoing compliance policy review and security assessments. We also work with several technicians as needed. If we need an upgrade, they assign somebody to support us.

Andromeda’s response times are immediate whether on the weekend or a weekday. While we don’t track any other specific metrics, we’re truly satisfied with them as a vendor. We also experience no issues. Overall, they’ve exceeded our expectations.
