Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the founder and CEO of The Food Corridor, a boutique SaaS product and search directory in the food industry.

For what projects/services did your company hire Analytive?

We recently launched a new search directory and needed the site to be crawler-friendly. We also wanted to optimize our site for specific terms and embed content.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to drive traffic and leads and improve our SEO tracking and search rankings.

How did you select this vendor?

A third party referred us to them. They impressed us with their planning, communication, knowledge, and tools. Their contract was also quite clear.

Describe the project in detail.

Their job was to create and implement an SEO strategy. They started with keyword research, a technical audit, and an SEO analytic setup. Then, we worked with their growth, web, and content teams to implement a content creation plan to drive organic traffic. Their SEO and content creation were backed up by research and analytics.

Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?

The number of users on our site quadrupled, and sessions are now two and a half times longer than they used to be. We also started trending in several regions including Maryland, Denver, and San Francisco.

How did the Analytive perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team was crystal clear from the beginning regarding the project’s contract, deliverables, communication, and completion. It was both impressive and helpful. We communicated via email mostly and had a couple of in-person meetings.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of marketing and business development for Gorilla Logic. We provide teams of high-quality nearshore Agile software developers to US-based companies that need to scale up to deliver on their innovations or products.

What challenge were you trying to address with Analytive?

Initially, we reached out to Analytive because we wanted to drive more of the correct kinds of traffic to our website, so we were looking for SEO support.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They started with a full audit of our site and an examination of our keywords—both the ones we were already using, and others that might also be relevant to us. After analyzing that data, they compiled keyword recommendations for us, as well as a list of ways to improve our site’s structure and content. We now meet on a regular cadence to evaluate progress and new recommendations. Additionally, we have retained Analytive to run pay-per-click ad campaigns for us.

What is the team composition?

Their owner is our primary point of contact. There’s also a second person who edits copy, reviews metrics, and places ads.

How did you come to work with Analytive?

Their founder had previously done work with Gorilla Logic on a more limited scope. I liked their professionalism, commitment to success, and ability to be genuine collaborative partners.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $50,000 to date.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2017 and maintain an ongoing retainer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did a great job and we’re pleased with the results. We’ve seen improvements in both our rankings and in the quality of our lead generation from organic searches. Prior to working with Analytive, we’d never had this much success converting leads into deals.

How did Analytive perform from a project management standpoint?

Their approach really worked for us. They’ve done a good job of keeping us informed throughout all of our projects using Trello. We meet regularly, either in person or through a video conference, and receive a short email update every Friday to keep track of what we’ve accomplished during the week.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have high integrity and are eager to jump in and tackle challenges. We work with their owner often, and he is committed to understanding our business so he can make our results better. It’s clear that when they make a recommendation, it’s because they’ve thought it through and really believe it’s the right choice for us. On top of that, they deliver excellent customer service. The team is so attentive that we feel like we’re their only client even though we know we’re not.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d love to have more frequent and formalized A/B testing for the next phase of our project. It's something we're working on together.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As with any contractor, be clear about objectives and have candid conversations about your expectations.

I’m the marketing manager for Florida CirTech, an electronic assembly supplier. We manufacture chemistries and materials for circuit board assemblers.

What challenge were you trying to address with Analytive?

We decided to revamp our website—update its look and make it mobile-friendly. I have some SEO experience, but we wanted to hire an expert to help manage the content and daily tasks. We aimed to rank on Google.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They started working on two websites for two of our divisions. The team helps with the digital side as well as general marketing objectives. They identify goals and methods to promote our brand in the industry. We collaborate on keyword research; they work with our technical leads to gain more insight into our industry. The team then identifies less-competitive and high-volume opportunities for growth. Once we approve the keyword list, writers from both teams collaborate to produce the content.

We do paid advertising and have done a few Facebook campaigns, although we use Google Ads for most campaigns. Analytive also does social media management. Our in-house intern posts the content their team creates for LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. In addition, Analytive develops content for our site; they’ll edit our in-house content to make it more appropriate for various outlets or platforms. For divisions lacking technical writing skills, we provide an outline and their writers package the information into a presentable post.

How did you come to work with Analytive?

Tyler is local and reached out to us. We had a few discussions about a possible partnership and contract.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $112,000. We’ve done a few six-month retainers but now pay month-to-month. We’ll do another contract in 2019.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2016 and the partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen immediate results. Our keywords start ranking less than a month after we begin working on their visibility. Overall, our rankings have steadily improved month-over-month. We now have a higher click-through rate and increased traffic and impressions.

How did Analytive perform from a project management standpoint?

Tyler’s proximity to our office is an advantage. We meet bi-weekly to catch up, set new objectives, and change priorities. Project management is one of their biggest strengths; they keep me on track because we have nine companies and nine websites that we’re all working on. Consequently, I see them as an extension of our marketing department. They’ve learned a lot about our products and are now more comfortable with our industry.

Tyler and Kathryn both attend meetings. Kathryn is in direct contact with our technical writers and ensures that deliverables are on track. Tyler and I focus on the larger goals; he also has a team of content writers and graphic designers that assist him. We use Task Manager and communicate via phone and email. The team is responsive and proactively monitors upcoming work, which enables to us focus on other items.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team is personable and always willing to work hard. They stay on top of digital marketing trends and often pitch new ideas to our leadership. Their marketing expertise gives us an edge as we develop our digital brand. We want to continue working with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’re both smaller companies and a good fit for each other. Although SEO services can be expensive, it’s been worth it for us.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Stay in constant contact, whether in-person or via conference calls. Get face-to-face time and set up meetings at least every other week. Once the project starts, hit the ground running and check in regularly. Make sure to use a project management tool; Tyler checks in constantly to stay on top of everything.
