I’m the CEO of a company that focuses on productivity tools and event management.

What challenge were you trying to address with AmiFactory?

We needed someone to develop an iOS and Android app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

AmiFactory developed an iOS and Android app from scratch. I provided the UI/UX and with that, we put the certifications, user flow, and user journey inside the app. They were able to develop everything from scratch by looking into the user specifications and the services we wanted.

What is the team composition?

My contacts were the CEO and CTO. The team consisted of 5–10 people at one stage.

How did you come to work with AmiFactory?

I did a search on Clutch and saw their profile. I looked at their website and saw some of their projects. They had good experience in handling mobile applications and developing platforms.

I contacted them and liked the way they communicated and responded. AmiFactory was very efficient, so I decided to give them a chance.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2019–January 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

AmiFactory always came up with new ideas that were very beneficial. Due to COVID-19, we launched very softly. We didn’t make any marketing campaigns because it was a personal gathering app that would require events management and interaction between people. 

We currently have 1,000–2,000 users and we get their feedback on a weekly basis. Most of them like the productivity, the UX, and the feeling of the app itself, especially that it’s a cross-platform technology. They’re not used to such smooth transitions within a cross-platform product. 

Usually, you see lagging, but that’s not the case with what AmiFactory delivered. My CTO was amazed by the process they put together. It’s very clear and clean coding, and there isn’t much complication in the code itself. I’m happy with their work. There will be more projects with them.

How did AmiFactory perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was good. They gave me weekly progress reports, as well as a monthly update and the estimated time for the submission for each milestone or sprint. Once we reached a significant milestone, they released the applications to test. 

We were able to test them as we went along. We mainly communicated through WhatsApp because I prefer it, and we also used email, Trello, Asana.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I liked that they were a small team. It was very easy to communicate with them, and I had direct communication with their CEO and CTO. AmiFactory was always willing to be challenged with ideas. They were more efficient than other providers I’ve used outside the Clutch platform. I liked their efficiency.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At some point, they may need to scale up their team. I already communicated this to their management, and they agreed and said they were willing to do it.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Since you’re dealing with a remote team, you definitely need to have a good communication channel. You also have to have a clear specification for the application that you want.

We developed the UI/UX from our side at the beginning. You have every feature and flow very well defined. It’s much easier for them to envision the application.

I'm the co-founder of an augmented reality (AR) review platform.

We wanted to improve the quality of our review process by incorporating AR technologies.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to bring a minimum viable product to the market to prove our concept. We can then plan and test AR tools based on audience feedback.

How did you select this vendor?

We’d worked with AmiFactory on previous projects. They proved themselves as a reliable partner who could deliver high-quality work at a fair price.

Describe the project in detail.

We provided UI design and requirements and asked AmiFactory to prototype the AR functionality of our iOS app. They presented a working prototype and then started development on the app, throughout which we tracked progress and provided feedback. In addition, they designed, integrated, and configured Google Firebase and Google APIs before launching our finished app onto the app store.

What was the team composition?

We worked with a project manager and contacted the developer directly.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The MVP version of the iOS app helped us understand the market and the needs of our audience. Using that data, we could better consider how to utilize AR technologies.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We were satisfied with our project manager, and their team involved us in all important technical decisions. We communicated mainly through Skype and tracked through GitLab.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They offered advice not only in the relevant technical fields but also in third-party products and services. Their flexible approach and expertise made a positive impact.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We would appreciate more precise estimates of delivery times.

I'm a co-founder of a company, based in Paris, France, that's developing a chat application for Android and iOS, which allows neighbors, work colleagues, students, and other people within the same space to communicate.

We ask them to develop a geolocalized, mobile chat application for both Android and iOS.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal is to keep growing the audience of our consumer app.

How did you select this vendor?

They started the MVP of the app with sucess. I found them on Clutch.co.

We gave them all our requests. They recommended some new ones to improve the app and prepare it for a scale up. We work most of the time with two-week sprints. We don't need a QA resource since they have experience and their provided work was good quality.

What was the team composition?

They have one iOS/Android developer and backend Django developer.

We keep growing our audience with fewer and fewer bugs.

We talk most of the time and use Slack on a daily basis.

Their speed and their quality are great.

Good so far. Let's hope they keep their efficiency for a long time.
