American Web Builders

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and position.

I am the Owner of Golden Touched

Describe what your company does in a single sentence.

Golden Touched is a nonprofit educational foundation serving the Inland Empire. We run programs that connect K–12 students to real career exposure: Youth Mentorship, Career Pathway Field Trips, Business Plan Development Workshops, The Art of Stepping Program, and School and Business Partnerships. We work alongside schools and local businesses to give students experiences they would not get in a classroom.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What specific goals or objectives did you hire American Web Builders to accomplish?

• We needed a website that explained our programs clearly to three different audiences: schools, parents, and potential sponsors.
• We wanted a way to accept online donations without using a third-party link.
• We needed a contact system that routed school partnership inquiries and sponsor inquiries to the right person.
• We wanted the site to work well on phones since many parents and students find us that way.
• We wanted better visibility in Google searches for youth mentorship and career readiness programs in the Inland Empire.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

They started with a discovery call. They asked about our programs, who we serve, how schools and sponsors currently reach us, and what was missing from our old site. From there they mapped out the site structure. They designed a clean, easy-to-navigate website. The layout puts our programs front and center with clear descriptions of each one. Each program got its own page so we could explain what it is, who it is for, and how to get involved. They built out the pages in WordPress using our existing theme setup. The home page uses a rotating banner to highlight different parts of our mission. The programs section lists all five of our initiatives with links to the individual pages. They set up online donations through GiveWP so supporters can give directly on the site instead of being sent elsewhere. They added a contact form with different inquiry types so school partnership requests, sponsor requests, and general questions all get routed properly. They set up the newsletter signup form in the footer so visitors can join our mailing list. They added a gallery page for photos from our field trips and workshops, and a sponsors page for our partners. For SEO, they set up basic on-page optimization, page titles and descriptions, and local keywords for youth mentorship and career readiness programs in the Inland Empire. Key deliverables: multi-page website with dedicated program pages, online donation setup through GiveWP, contact form with inquiry routing, newsletter signup, gallery, sponsors page, FAQ section, and 30 days of post-launch support.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Online donations now come in directly through the site instead of us sending people to a separate link. Sponsor and school partnership inquiries are more organized since the contact form routes them. The site loads fast on mobile. We are getting more organic traffic from Google searches for our programs in the Inland Empire.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Mostly on time. The design phase ran a little longer than originally estimated, but they let us know early. The rest of the project stayed on schedule. Communication was clear. We had regular check-in calls. When we asked for changes to the contact form routing, they made it within a couple of days. No extra charge for that.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They asked questions about how we actually operate before starting. They understood that we serve three different audiences and built the site so each one can find what they need quickly. They explained things in plain language, which mattered because our team is not technical.

Are there any areas for improvement or something American Web Builders could have done differently?

The design options at the start were limited. Two concepts were shown. More choices would have helped. More SEO guidance after launch would be useful. We understand the basics but a simple monthly report or a written guide would help us keep improving.

What specific goals or objectives did you hire American Web Builders to accomplish?

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

American Web Builders designed our website from scratch. In fact, they included a custom donation form connected to our Stripe account. Our logo was very cohesive in terms of colors and all. It aligned perfectly with our brand message.

Beyond that, their team wrote and formatted three grant proposals, one of which was a federal funding application that required a lot of technical detail.

They also maintain my website to date, like updating event information, fixing minor bugs, and such, without any extra charges.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We saw a major increase in site traffic within the first few weeks of launch. Donors specifically commented on the site being easy to navigate.

We also secured our first major grant ($25K), thanks to the clarity in our application.  Now that the site is live, we’re seeing more schools reaching out to collaborate.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

They delivered everything on time, although we were a little bit slow with approvals. Their team was always patient and helpful.

We got weekly updates by email, and their project manager was easy to reach by phone. If something ever came up, like a page going down, they usually fixed it within the same day.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They treated us like a big client. Every feedback we gave was given great importance. They provided us with top-quality work irrespective of the package we chose.

Are there any areas for improvement or something American Web Builders could have done differently?

Maybe a project dashboard or something like that would’ve helped us stay more organized. We managed most of the work through email, which worked, but it got problematic at times.
