We are professionals in our field of making chocolate, however, we needed someone with experience in both D2C & B2B to support our efforts and take our company to the next phase of growth. Our goal was to expand our brand through new channels and increase awareness both for consumers and potential re-sellers. AMD supported our goals by establishing a strategy around social ads, social media and community building, and direct lead generation and sales support.

We debated between working with independent consultants and agencies, and after searching for a few online and asking for references, we shortlisted AMD amongst a few others. What made them stand out to us though was their willingness to learn about our business and goals, up-front, before trying to pitch us on strategy and pricing. We had multiple calls and reviews of our business performance prior to discussing any commercials.

They also showed a lot of flexibility in their capabilities compared to other agencies who felt pretty "standard." Although it was a bit more expensive than an independent consultant, they expressed their capability to cover the full spectrum of what we needed, for now and for the scalable future, which one consultant wouldn't have been able to cover.

On the consumer side, AMD established a strategy of Social Ads for both conversions and awareness, and social media guidelines for effective community building and engagement. We collaborated together to establish the visions for the content strategy which they understood fully and they created the ads strategy and creatives along with both funnels for conversions and for awareness. Their team took care of all of the necessary account setups and integrations which we had no clue how to do. They also gave us a small freebee where they set up an email sign up form plug-in on our website to capture emails and they helped us setup the free version of Mail Chimp to start testing email marketing on our own.

For the social media guidelines, AMD supported us in creating a framework of rules and standards for us to manage our social media and engage with new followers and local pages to support our awareness efforts. For re-sellers, AMD supported in establishing our own strategy for identifying re-sellers and conducting direct outreach. Their strategy included using their market research tools to identify potential resellers, their decision makers and also obtain their contact details. They then supported us in creating an outreach strategy which included us cold emailing re-sellers to invite them to our local market events to try our chocolate. They also supported in giving us "sales training" in order to have purposeful conversations with our potential prospects with clear outcomes and call to actions to follow up on.

Depending on the stages of the project we were always working with 3-5 people. Our main point of contact was always either our account manager for digital marketing, or our account manager for sales. We also had a graphic designer, ads manager and a market researcher assigned at certain points of the project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are very happy with our overall results. Our social media saw a 150% increase in followers in the first 6 months with the combined strategy from the ads and the engagement guidelines put together. For the conversion ads, we increased conversions on the website by 25% which is just below what we'd hoped for, however, AMD also identified opportunity to better establish our website for conversions so we have paused ads for the moment and they are working on a new website before restarting our campaigns. They also helped us to identify over 50 potential re-sellers within our region to which we've been able to land 3 new re-sell partners and have another 5 in our pipeline to close.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We met with the team every week to review campaign performance and metrics. They were very helpful at explaining things to us in ways that were easy to understand which really helped us to learn along the way. By the time we started on our "re-seller" strategy, we were meeting with them twice a week. They also always made sure to make themselves available whenever we had additional questions.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their overall flexibility and agility were impressive. We'd heard some horror stories about other agencies from other friends and colleagues saying how generic and standard their work was. AMD really took the time to understand us, our business and our market and took ownership in growing our business.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We felt like the start of the campaigns were slow and we wanted to pick up the speed. They did explain though that based on our budgets and how Meta's algorithm works, the algorithm needed data to learn about the audience which was important to test accordingly otherwise scaling our ads would be challenging.

We worked with 7 individuals in total: a project manager that was our main point of contact, an ads strategist that was responsible for the overall strategy and 4 ads specialists managing and monitoring our campaigns across the 5 countries.

The campaigns was a success as we reached 112% of our goal for the 6 months of launch. We were able to build a mailing list from the campaigns that also allowed us to send some email marketing campaigns to drive further sales.

We had weekly meetings to review the customized dashboard they created for us and to go over the optimizations points that were going to be implemented based on what works and what didn't

The amount of time they spent upfront to show us why we should work with them. They put a lot of skin in the game prior to our commitment. We also would add that they are extremely data-driven, and most of their decisions are based on the numbers they have shown us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The translation part into each country's language for the campaign was a bit tricky however it was not a requirement for them to have the ability to work on the translation as well.

After the initial interviews with us, they shared their strategy, identified and shared with us the best target audience to achieve our targets. AMD Consulting's team laid down their schedule of ads they will post on Facebook and LinkedIn over the period of the next 2 weeks.

Detailed reports with stats were shared with us every other day, with a conference call at the end of the week. This gave us visibility into what was happening, how much money was being spent, what was the CTC, etc. As well as the details of what was working, what wasn't.

AMD Consulting had dedicated resources assigned for us to answer any questions we may have, anytime. The resources were also responsible for providing all the updates over a video call, where they'd share the stats with all the stakeholders. They make sure the customers are engaged and have given us complete control to measure and optimize the campaigns. At each step, we knew exactly how many people were responding, what was the total reach and was type of responses were coming in.

The project helped increase our inbound sales by 15%, which was more than what we had experienced before with other vendors.

The workflow was extremely smooth. Meetings to start the week and share the plans for the next 5 days. Another grand meeting at the end of the week to share the wins, the changes in strategy, and way forward. There was great chemistry, amazing communication, the dashboard they used was of Data Studio, which made the stats very easy on the eyes and understandable for everyone.

The team was incredibly resilient, they managed comms with our clients to get all creatives approved, icp's niched down, and tracking integrated. Assil also personally helped me to set up a new CRM system on the capsule. The campaigns have been progressively improving and they have a tracking platform that is incredibly organised and easy to follow for not only me but also the clients which is much appreciated.

We've converted about 20-25% of ad enquiries to sales calls across all client channels, which has increased our lead pipeline by at least 1/3rd for appointment setting.

Very effective, we meet weekly and Assil and the team always make themselves available for a quick 15 if needed. The AMD team also pops onto monthly feedback calls with clients to discuss stats and give tips on a pivoting strategy based on campaign analysis.

Their 100% growth for 3 years running.

There was an issue with the original spreadsheet integration but as explained before, Assil took the time to help us set up a CRM to alleviate this bottleneck.

We’ve now been working with AMD for just about a year. In the last year, they’ve generated over 20+ high quality leads in which we’ve solidified our ROI. Through their campaign efforts, they’ve generated ~450 total responses, with a positive response rate of 13% and 4% response for future business. The team possesses a deep understanding of their campaigns and consistently work to optimize their email copy, subject lines, and targeting, while also working to maintain healthy domain authority and sending reputation.

To date, we continue to maintain a healthy 45% average open rate on our campaigns and we see a steady 1-2 high quality meetings generated weekly.

We meet on a weekly basis to discuss campaign metrics and provide pipeline updates. The team is very flexible on communication and willing to adapt to my needs when I need to change or cannot attend a meeting. They are also strong with communication away from our weekly meetings when they need immediate feedback or information to provide to a prospect.

Any changes made to our campaigns are always run by me for approval and the team does a good job at justifying reasons for campaign changes and optimization.

The AMD team go beyond traditional methods of BD. Because they truly provide a boutique approach to their service, they genuinely take the time to build a relationship with me and the company. This goes with our prospective clients as well whom I’ve received great feedback from following the qualification calls completed by the AMD team.

We have had some minor hiccups but the AMD team responds proactively and has addressed them. The value far exceeds any challenges we have had.

I’m the head of business growth and expansion for DataVinci. It’s a segment in the digital marketing space. We only cater to data analytics, conversion rates, optimization, and the entire dashboarding and reporting section of the digital marketing package that other agencies have. What was the scope of their involvement?
The engagement was consultancy services to set up our sales processes. We signed up for a three-month contract with AMD. They reviewed what we currently presented in the market and then looked at our clientele and who our ideal clients would be, as well as how our business processes would be set up.

We had been handling this in-house, but we recently scaled up, hired more people, and expanded our operations. We decided to hire someone to help us with the sales process. With their guidance, we also hired our in-house business scaling team that could implement what AMD was suggesting. They helped us hire a business development team so they could teach them how to create a sales process and also guide them on how to take action on it.

We found them through CommissionCrowd, and they pitched to us. The initial discussions started in September 2020. AMD was very consistent in following up with us and chasing us for the requirements. That consistent follow-up made us go with them.

What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in January 2021 and just finished up the work in April 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They were amazing. We have highly valued their involvement, and their strategies were spot on. Rather than having a very straightforward approach, they were very involved in knowing who we are, what would be beneficial for us, and what would work for us. AMD worked hand-in-hand with us, listened to our feedback, and evaluated what we were strategizing and if it was right or wrong.

We had been with them for almost three months, and this is the first week that we aren’t working with them. Our company is already missing them. It was really a five-star engagement. There was nothing to complain about.

We ran our campaigns with them, and we're already seeing a positive response in the second month of our engagement. We continued to benefit from their teachings, have leveraged what they guided us in, and have scaled on it. Our team launched our campaigns in the second month of the engagement and in the last four weeks, we’ve been seeing some good results.

How did AMD perform from a project management standpoint?
We met twice a week for one hour. They are very responsive to calls, WhatsApp in case of emergencies, or email. While they were guiding us through the sales process and what our mentality should be, they also set us up using various tools which were for our tracking system, management, and CRM; it was absolutely smooth and easy. AMD helped us do more automation.

What did you find most impressive about them?
They were approachable and extremely proactive. Those were the most impressive qualities for us. We never got the feeling that we were crossing the lines beyond our contract. I never felt that they were cutting me loose or taking it easy. They were very well-organized.

Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they’re absolutely perfect. The engagement could’ve finished in 10 weeks, but they stretched it for an additional two weeks to make sure there wasn’t anything I came across that remained undone. After our engagement, if I had any doubts or if wanted something, they replied to me within 15 minutes.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Just listen to them. If you’re signing up with them, comply with every prerequisite if you really want your engagement to work. They know what they’re doing, and they know the best way. AMD is experienced in what they are doing, and not complying with them will not put the efforts in the right place. Let them exploit themselves in your business so that your business scales better.
