What was the scope of their involvement?

Alvi Software Pvt. Ltd. provided us with custom software development services. They developed a library management system that enables librarians to submit library books. Without needing to log in, users can browse all of the books and documents in the library. It also allows library customers to borrow books from the website.

We initially provided them with the business analysis and designs, and they handled the development process. Their team built the product from scratch using .NET. They’re currently working on a new migration module for it.

We work with the owner and 3–4 other people from their side.

We started working with Alvi Software Pvt. Ltd. in February 2022, and our collaboration is still ongoing.

We’re still in the deployment stage, so we don’t have any metrics to share yet.

I’m one of the co-founders and main lead engineers for a software company that provides data management services for four media companies.

What challenge were you trying to address with Alvi Software Pvt. Ltd.?

We needed to revamp a few of our API services. They were written in an older language years ago, and we needed someone with expertise in that area.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked with two of Alvi’s resources and two of ours as a joint effort to build a new API language for our vendors. We also tried to give them other prospects to have a simple frontend for these API services.

We initially gave them a few spec documents, and we gave them more documentation as it became available. We used Node.js, MySQL, and MongoDB for the backend and GraphQL as a middleware layer.

What is the team composition?

Biren (Founder) managed the resources and was our main point of contact. Two people were dedicated to the project, and we had full access to communicate directly with them.

How did you come to work with Alvi Software Pvt. Ltd.?

We have a team of 4–5 resources in India. One of them knew Biren, so we built a trusted relationship with Alvi.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested about $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from September 2020–April 2021 on a first project, and we just started another project last week.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Overall, getting the project done on time was the main goal, but we were stretched thin with our own resources, so we used Alvi. In the end, we were able to onboard four different vendors at that time, so we’re growing, and more vendors are using our API.

How did Alvi Software Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

We used WhatsApp and Skype on a daily basis.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They had multiple resources with various technologies. We didn’t have to go through a lengthy interview process to find a resource within their organization. They understood our needs and knew who would fit.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As they were growing, they went through a couple of office moves, which posed some challenges. Other than that, working with them went smoothly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give specific documentation to improve the project’s success. We had detailed specs and things laid out for them, so they accomplished the task better. They were also great at giving clear and concise specifications.

I am the Director of Vyvas-First Education Consults. We are a school support organization providing teacher training and enrichment programmes for students in schools across Nigeria.

For what projects/services did your company hire Alvi Corporation, and what were your goals?

We needed an online platform that would help us deliver qualitative assessments to meet the demands of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found the vendor online via LinkedIn and established communication links. Subsequent email exchanges, zoom meetings and whatsapp chats helped to fine tune our requirements. Alvi Corporation was flexible enough to adapt to our requests.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Alvi Corp put together the Alwits Online Assessment Portal and through it, we were able to carry out online tests for students across the country.

The team was led by Mr Biren Patel and he was the one we liaised with.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The platform was easy and quite flexible to use. We designed our assessments, uploaded them to the portal, set up the tests, and sent the links to the students. At the scheduled time, the students logged in to the test and received their test scores instantly.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We communicated via Zoom, Whatsapp, and emails. We had to work through our varying time zone differences.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It's a novelty experience, having an online portal that could adequately deliver an online full-proof assessment.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There are always areas to work on as we continue to have new needs.
