Working with Agiliway's team has been a great experience. We hired Agiliway to
develop a cutting-edge telemedicine platform using AI and ML technologies. The main
goal was to address the growing need for efficient telemedicine practices. Their
development team utilizes the leading AI and ML technologies to improve the
functionality of the given telemedicine solution. The AI-driven engine accumulates more
and more features and symptoms, such as tones of voice, word quantity, the angle of
eye motion, and much more, for better analytics. So, everything that we tested, and
deployed onto AWS, and all of the code from mobile to web frontend and web backend
has been built by our Agiliway team.

As a result, the platform now delivers real-time analysis of patients’ emotional and
physical states, offering comprehensive assessments that enhance diagnosis and
treatment accuracy. The ongoing development has already demonstrated significant
value, and Agiliway’s flexible approach to integrating feedback from doctors has
ensured that the application continues to evolve smoothly.

Our organization is a digital healthcare technology company, and I’m the CEO.

What challenge were you trying to address with Agiliway?

We hired them to provide software development services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re building a telehealth platform with Agiliway. The team helped us build our web app, as well as our mobile app for both iOS and Android. We provided them with mockups and wireframes.

The platform is for hospitals and doctors, who can use it to track their patients. They have a provider portal, on our web app, where they can create a series of check-ins, screening surveys, things of that sort. Then, they assign them to their patients, and our platform automatically begins tracking their patients for them. 

What is the team composition?

Right now, we’re working with three developers and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Agiliway?

My partners had used Agiliway in a previous business, and were pleased with the results they delivered.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested about $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since February 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We track software development by stories, and we measure their performance through how many stories they can get through in a given month. We’ve gotten good feedback on the app. We’re pleased with their work.

How did Agiliway perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is excellent. We use Clubhouse and Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have specific expertise in a programming language called Clojure, which was our main reason for partnering with them. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything significant to say at this point.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It really comes down to clear expectations and clear communication. With the Ukrainian team, we have a nine hour time difference, so we’re awake at different times. It helps to have those things down so you can have a smooth hand off from day to day.

I’m the CEO and co-founder of a diversity recruitment platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Agiliway?

I needed a core team of developers to work on my diversity platform after I’d acquired and rebranded it. It’s a SaaS solution for recruiting.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

As our main off-shore team, Agiliway handles the front- and backend development for my SaaS subscription business. They mainly work in Angular, offer server support, and expand upon our existing code. The team also does DevOps to some degree.

What is the team composition? 

We have a dedicated project manager, a QA specialist, a couple of engineers, a DevOps lead, and a sales rep.

How did you come to work with Agiliway?

In a previous life, I’d worked for a company that was considering a development house, but the cost was a bit outside of my startup’s budget. One of my peers mentioned that Agiliway was similar to the development house I wanted to use and actually consisted of developers from that company, so we connected.

How much have you invested with them?

Their services cost about $50,000 per year give or take. We haven’t hit the $200,000 mark yet for the total cost.

What is the status of this engagement?

We probably started working around April 2018, and the project is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

From the very beginning, Agiliway was on top of the project. They were able to take our existing code base and come up to speed on how it works in a timely manner. 

In fact, they discovered that one of the plug-ins we were using was set to update to a new version that would make our product nonfunctional. Their team quickly rectified that by updating my code so that we wouldn’t experience any downtime. It’s that kind of activity that has continued my dedication to Agiliway.

How did Agiliway perform from a project management standpoint?

They do fairly well from a project management standpoint. There have been some things that have gotten overlooked, but, for the most part, they’re hitting all the right marks. As for collaboration tools, we use Basecamp, SmartSheet, and have recently reverted back to Google Sheets for progress updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their willingness to jump in and learn as quickly as possible stands out. They’ve been able to turn out some pretty complex projects in a very timely manner. Finally, their price just can’t be beat.

Are there any areas they could improve?

This is a common problem in software development, but they could refine their time estimates to be more accurate. They might tell us that a piece will take two weeks when it actually ends up taking four.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s imperative to understand what a vendor’s full capabilities are. Otherwise, you’ll get a rude awakening a month or two down the road. You need to make sure that the day you start paying the vendor is the day you’re getting actual work and not having them learn on your dime.

Olifano is a context-based knowledge assistant. We deliver information into the flow of work to improve employee focus and productivity. Olifano is a multi-tenant SaaS solution. I am David Verhaag and I am the Founder & CEO of Olifano.

For what projects/services did your company hire Agiliway?

We engaged Agiliway to develop our original (POC) proof of concept and MVP. Agiliway did such an exceptional job delivering on the requirements of our original project we have extended our engagement into an on-going partnership supporting the buildout of Olifano post MVP.

What were your goals for this project?

Our original goal for the project was to validate our solution to the problem of too much information in too many places at work. Agiliway successfully built our prototype which we validated and extended into an MVP which Agiliway also developed for us.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Agiliway was referred to me by an investor and current CTO of a leading SaaS company. They were well known to this individual who recommended them based on their past work.

Agiliway fully developed a new multi-tenant SaaS solution, Olifano. The project began with a POC based on basic non-technical designs that Agiliway translated into the technical design and then built. After the initial POC was developed Agiliway continued to work with Olifano iterating on the original design, building out additional features, and setting up integrations. Agiliway did all of the backend, frontend, Chrome extension, and QA work for Olifano.

What was the team composition?

The team consists of a project manager, also functions as the interim CTO for Olifano, a backend engineer, a frontend engineer, and a QA engineer. Periodically they have leveraged their extended team for specific expertise needed for the Olifano project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Agiliway brought Olifano from basic and non-technical designs to a fully functional SaaS product that we have successfully brought to the market. More than just executing on our original vision, Agiliway offered both technical and non-technical advice and recommendations along the way. This has helped us to evolve the product in directions that we had not originally considered and have made it considerably better. This has included both backend functionality designed to ensure Olifano is secure, stable, and ready to scale, frontend designs to improve the user experience from our original concepts, and the process and infrastructure to ensure efficient development, testing, and collaboration.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Agiliway provided a project manager for the project and an executive sponsor regularly joins calls to check in on status and progress. The project management has been absolutely exceptional and exceeded my expectations for the partnership. The project manager acts as my main point of contact and coordinates work and updates across the engineering team supporting the project. We meet regularly and he is consistently prepped with updates and questions from the team and a plan for product releases and work plan.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Agiliway has exceeded my expectations in every way on this project. They provided excellent project management to set us up for success and keep things on track. The project manager has gone above and beyond to deliver often with little direction from the Olifano team. The development work has been excellent with the team thinking and delivering beyond core requirements - while staying on budget - to ensure our product is set up for long-term success. QA has been just as impressive with our QA resource not only building and executing test plans but looking for opportunities to improve the product. Agiliway has been the foundation of the success of our business.

No room for improvement. Agiliway has been truly exceptional.

I represent Omilia, a software development company based in Athens, Greece. We have operations all over the world, providing conversational intelligence. I’m the head of sales for Central and Eastern Europe, and I’m the general director and CEO of Omilia Ukraine, a subsidiary of the main company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Agiliway?

Our company had started growing up, and we were getting a lot of business outside Greece, the US, and Canada. We were struggling to find developers locally, and we thought that it would be great to outsource.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Agiliway initially outsourced some Java, Python, and Golang developers to us, following with QA engineers and project managers. We also used them on some of our proprietary development technologies, and we gave them training on those. They worked on multiple projects for us, in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.

 The second part was transcription. Our technology requires automatic speech recognition, and, in order to build our models, we needed to find native speakers that would listen to audios and transcribe them. That part of the collaboration with Agiliway was only outsourcing. Agiliway found native Spanish, Polish, South African, Ukrainian, and Kazak speakers, and they were transcribing.

What is the team composition?

We had up to 25 people located in Lviv, in an outsourcing structure. In the beginning, when it was outsourcing, we had a project manager from their side, a tech lead, a senior developer, three junior developers, and some QA engineers.

How did you come to work with Agiliway?

We considered the EU, but it was too expensive for us. We found Agiliway through a recommendation from a friend of our CMO’s, who’d worked with Sergiy (COO and Co-Founder). Sergiy had enormous experience in outsourcing, and he established his own IT outsourcing company in Ukraine around 2015.

I looked at other companies as well, but they weren’t as client-oriented. They were looking to sell us some engineers without analyzing our business. We were a small company in 2015, and their rates were enormous. We met Agiliway when both our companies were starting out, so we understood each other.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $1,000 per employee during outsourcing. We spent around $1.2 million in the 2015 period for the development part and around $150,000 for transcriptions.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Agiliway around November 2015, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We raised $20 million from a UK investor, and we’re very happy about that. It means that we’ve done very well with our expansion in Ukraine.

We have a direct project with a Canadian bank. We used to have QA from Agiliway, who collaborated directly with the Canadians. Their English was perfect, so they had conference calls with the clients. We didn’t keep specific KPIs because we always considered them as our employees. As long as we kept them, it meant that they were doing well.

On the transcription side, they could find any native speaker because there were many students from all over the world there.

How did Agiliway perform from a project management standpoint?

They were available 24/7. I don’t remember a case when Agiliway wasn’t responsive. They were there whenever I needed them, even during weekends and off-hours. We’ve had and continue to have a long-term collaboration, and maybe I’ll ask for other services from them in the near future.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their COO’s professionalism and client orientation were impressive, even in the first contract negotiation. We were a small company and so were they. I understood how outsourcing worked, and I told them what kind of engineers to provide me, and told them that they needed to be affordable for me, in order for me to grow my business. He understood that we wouldn’t have a big merging, but that this would be a long-term collaboration.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Maybe they could have more beautiful offices, in order to instill a sense of belonging. It’s difficult to find beautiful buildings in Lviv because other outsourcing companies are already renting them. There’s nothing else I could say. Agiliway is a good IT outsourcing company, and we were lucky to find them.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

First of all, they should talk directly to Sergiy, and express their real needs. Clients shouldn’t think that Ukraine is an unknown place, near Siberia, or something else. If they need an outsourcing company, they should just pick up the phone, organize a call, and explain their situation directly, in terms of what they do, what budget they have, and what they need. Agiliway wants full transparency, actually, in order to build credibility: what the employees’ salaries are and what their service fees are.
