AgileVision.io worked closely with me to plan our application infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline. Once the initial plan was outlined, they provided a full-time resource that we continue to work with.  They have all the skills needed to complete the project.

We mainly use AWS and their services. That includes DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, CodeBuild, CloudFormation, S3, and SDS/MSDS.

They’re building our automated deployment pipeline and import QSystem that leverages the server architecture that AWS provides.

How did you come to work with AgileVision.io?

We found them through a Facebook group. We tested several different candidates by providing a description of what we wanted. Then each candidate drew a diagram and created a plan on how to implement it. Compared to other providers we considered, AgileVision.io understood the Amazon framework the best.

We started working together in September 2019 and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since our business relies on the application, their work is essential to our business. Before this project our release cycle was about eight months long, but now it only takes a week.

The CI/CD pipeline and the import QSystem allow us to integrate with our partners seamlessly and manage our customers’ products efficiently. It gives our customers the ability to import all of their products into our system at once without any hiccups.

How did AgileVision.io perform from a project management standpoint?

Aleksandr is now a part of our team. He follows the project management conventions we’ve established in-house.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their commitment to delivering quality service and helping their customers is exceptional.

Create a plan to help you achieve your goals. Then research the services that they provide to ensure that they will be able to deliver what you need.

What challenge were you trying to address with AgileVision.io?

From the beginning, Agile has helped us design and build our AWS infrastructure.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Besides building on what we had on AWS, they worked on the full scope of an Android and iOS development project too. Agile continues to take care of everything for us as far as developing our inventory solutions software.

Before we start development, one of their UI/UX teammates mocks up everything in InVision. Their team defines stories with us, and then they manage those requirements in Jira. We run on two-week sprints, which is how we divide those tasks. Their team works on front- and backend development and then we meet to discuss any issues or problems. They build out products with AWS technologies, including Redshift, Elasticsearch, and CloudFront. Their hardware team recently started working on a safety protocol too.

What is the team composition?

We work with a product manager who coordinates our projects with us. There's also a UI/UX designer, a frontend team, and a backend team. There’s a mobile development team too. They also have a hardware team that just started working with us.

At this point, we’ve spent around $2 million on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our ongoing partnership in 2018. It has been continuous since then.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re a growing company, which is attributable to our products. Agile helps us develop those products. They’re terrific. From a service standpoint, if we ever need something that’s outside the scope, they’re responsive. The quality of their work is also fantastic.

How did AgileVision.io perform from a project management standpoint?

We meet three times a week. We work with a fantastic project manager, and their team sets clear expectations. If there’s ever an issue, their response time’s terrific even though they’re 5–6 hours ahead of us. They either resolve issues on the spot or within 24 hours.

Product and expectation management has been their greatest points of progression. Their development process is now 5 stars.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Customer support is one of the strongest aspects of our partnership. That’s important to us because we continue to use their services and develop solutions with them. They’ve become like an extension of our company. If we need them outside of a project's scope, they’re available to help us in any capacity.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we’ve worked together for so long that Agile has tailored their services to fit all of our needs and wants.

Be open to the feedback that Agile has because they have a lot of experience in different industries and with different products.

We are an electrical and automation distributor. I’m in charge of all our inventory solution programs. We manage consumable inventory at customer sites.

What challenge were you trying to address with AgileVision.io?

Our previous inventory processes were manually intensive and we wanted a way to automate them in an inventory solution platform. We wanted to put the new platform in the cloud so we could scale it easily.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They design our user interfaces. We send them mock-ups and they enhance the look and feel of our UI. They helped us move our existing system to AWS and build a new platform. No one at our company knew much about AWS, so they set up our user permissions and groups. Our in-house developers like SQL, so they set us up with a SQL database in our AWS account.

We also work with IoT devices at our customer sites. They are familiar with one-click services and integrated Amazon buttons, lockers, and an RFID portable device into the platform. They’ve also helped us develop the front- and backend for an Android and iOS app as part of the project.

What is the team composition?

We have a principal point of contact and a team of three or four other employees.

How did you come to work with AgileVision.io?

We looked for businesses on Upwork. They quickly understood what we were trying to do and had worked with some of the hardware we wanted on similar projects. They had some of their previous work available for us to test and we were impressed by their experience.

We’ve spent about $40,000 on all of their services so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in February 2018 and it’s an ongoing project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They saved us from hiring another internal IT person. They moved solutions into the production environment and reduced the timeline by at least six months to a full year. Our in-house team had to prioritize other projects and this one kept getting pushed back. They’ve helped a lot and we’re really pleased with the feel and functionality of the code. Our in-house developers mention often how great they are to work with. They understand what we’re trying to accomplish.

How did AgileVision.io perform from a project management standpoint?

Our point of contact is great and his English is excellent. We’re currently in phase three of the project. We have weekly conference calls and exchange emails daily. They demo tasks and milestones and keep us in the loop about their progress and as they finish tasks. We have a lot of back and forth in Google Docs, where we keep track of the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication is fantastic. We’ve worked with freelancers in the U.S. that were not as successful as they were. They’ve helped us progress faster by making suggestions for best practices based on previous experiences with similar projects. They fill in the gaps in our knowledge.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing so far. We’re really happy with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be transparent and specific from the start. We have a clear process and answer questions at the beginning of each phase. That sets us up to successfully complete projects and stay on the same page the entire time.

We’re satisfied with their work so far. They’ve finished a lot of the microservices, but nothing is in production right now. It’s a little early to give a success story, but we’re happy with their code.

We’ve been able to get a prototype—we worked out an MVP that is actually shipping. They’ve been fundamental for us in getting it. They have great technical skills.

They’re great at communicating. We’ve worked in a flexible, agile way with them, and they accommodated our changing requirements. As far as documentation is concerned, we’ve received what we asked for.

Their architectural thinking is impressive. Volodymyr is a brilliant software architect. When we’ve been in a tight spot, they’ve been there for us.

Their documentation could be improved, but we didn’t ask for changes.

Try to capture the whole vision you have for the software.

I'm the CEO of MoboPay. We do proximity marketing, so we market to people with mobile phones within a close physical distance.

What challenge were you trying to address with AgileVision?

We worked with some other agencies, but we were not satisfied. We were looking for a new company to build our application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built a web solution and an Android app for us. We explained our needs to them, and they went above and beyond, making recommendations and pointing out the things we were missing. They walked us step by step through the process, showing us the milestones of what needs to be done. They never pushed anything on us, but rather educated us.

Everything they built was completely customized. The app gives people the ability to advertise and sell any product. An individual creates a 50-character message and other people can see it on their mobile phones and click on it, which takes them to a secure website or a landing page that the individual used to create the message.

What is the team composition?

We work with a developer, the owner, and two other members of their team.

How did you come to work with them?

We found them through an online search. When we spoke with AgileVision, they took in all our failures, understood them, and created an incredible portfolio of how they could build the product. They invested countless hours developing the idea, before we even committed to anything financially. They had experience with proximity marketing and were confident that their ideas would 100% work. They even gave us a timeframe (which they met).

We've spent about $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in December 2017 and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Without them, we wouldn't have a business. They delivered a product that actually works and is easy to use, so the project was 100% successful. We already received positive feedback from beta testers.

How did they perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Google share pages, Google hangouts, email, and phone to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They invested their personal time in understanding our ideas and building out the entire project. We could have taken their ideas to another company, which might have cost us less, but we didn’t do that. We love the way they work, so we decided to stay with them.

Not at all. We've learning from them.

Follow their lead and everything will go smoothly. They're very prompt, professional and great communicators.

I am the co-founder and software development project lead of a communication technology provider.

What challenge were you trying to address with AgileVision.io?

We had begun development on a platform to monitor AV systems and needed a partner who could help us architect the solution and begin the development work. Our goal was the get the system off the ground and into a proof of concept or a beta deployment.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

AgileVision was able to provide the expertise to architect the solution and the resources to begin actually building out pieces of the platform. The platform was built and hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using React, Node.JS, and a little bit of JavaScript. AgileVision was able to provide a lot of expertise on the AWS platform, including the database structures, the way data flows through AWS, and understanding the costs of maintaining the platform. They also provide maintenance for the work they have done and advisory services such as helping in the interview process of people we may bring onboard to take over the project.

What is the team composition?

We work directly with Volodymyr (Managing Director, AgileVision.io).

How did you come to work with AgileVision.io?

We initially found them through Upwork and asked them to come in for an interview. We were extremely impressed with Volodymyr during the interview process. He clearly did his homework to understand our needs and gave us a well thought out proposal. That gave us the confidence that he really understood the project and how to handle it.

How much have you invested with them?

We have spent at least $50,000 CAD ($39,083 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We have been working continuously with them since July 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We pretty quickly launched a beta version of the software and on boarded seven customers to the platform. The feedback so far has been very good and the platform is working well. We are not yet actively marketing it because we have some work still left to complete, but AgileVision’s work has been done efficiently and to a high quality.

How did AgileVision.io perform from a project management standpoint?

They are extremely responsive and the overall efficiency of communication is so high that you don't even perceive the time difference we have with them.

For project management we use GitHub, Jira, and an order process for tasks we need them to execute. We also use Cisco Spark for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have such a wide breadth of skills that they can both assist constructively with architecture and execute the tasks we assign them. It is definitely a huge strength and why we continue to use them as a partner. I will also add that Volodymyr is a very trustworthy person and our team has been able to build a really strong relationship with him even though he is overseas.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I think that they are professional, they know what they're doing, and they’re a great partner.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You have to be very specific with any contractor, so the more you know about what you want the less time you're going to waste. The good thing about AgileVision is that they're extremely patient and work a lot on providing us with education. When you are more educated you are able to move faster, so the more you know what you want the faster you can move. The more education you need from your contractor, the slower you'll progress.
