We collaborate with many prestigious Universities and Clinics and contribute to healthy and fit cognitive power for healthy adults, rehabilitation for patients with cognitive impairments, as well as stress management & burnout prevention.

For what projects/services did your company hire Admiral Media?

We iterated on the product and achieved LTVs, where paid marketing would make sense. So we reviewed the market and got several recommendations for Andre Kempe and his Company - Admiral Media. With Admiral Media, we have an experienced app marketing agency with a proven track record and proven strong results with rapidly growing apps. Additionally, Admiral Media has proven to show an outstanding understanding of the technical complexities of tracking & reporting in the app industry. Together we could generate a new strategy to acquire more users, as well as to run various user acquisition campaigns across our digital marketing channels. So the right agency was indeed crucial to find.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to grow our user base while increasing revenue generated from paid marketing - net Return on Advertising Spent. We furthermore wanted to expand our paid marketing campaigns into new territories and set a baseline for further exponential growth.

Knowing our goals and needs, we reviewed people in digital marketing and app agency spaces. Admiral Media is a highly specialized performance marketing agency for apps and has a proven track record. We heard very positive reviews and feedback from the mobile app industry about their work, and after initial conversations, we made the decision. I believe that we could not have found a better agency partner and since 2019 they are helping us to maximize our user base, at the same time as increasing ROAS.

Admiral Media helped us to find the best target markets, audiences and which creatives perform best. We were positively surprised by their proactivity and capabilities, and we are glad that Admiral Media was able to grow our marketing spend & user growth at such a fast pace. Additionally, Admiral Media ideated and contributed to experiments on the store listing pages and onbording versions of the app and did show a strong understanding of technical limitations and opportunities in analytical setup and campaign optimization.

Because of a pragmatic and effective relationship with Admiral, the team set up on our side is a data counterpart and myself. We provide creative assets and get dedicated support from the Founder of Admiral Media.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The whole team is responsive to our needs and is committed to producing outstanding results. They do exactly what they say they’re going to do, within the agreed scope of work and time-frames. From the very first day, it was clear that our success is their top priority. Thanks to Admiral Media we were able to scale our spending by more than 200% while achieving our target ROAS!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Apart from intensive creative testing and channel exploration we improved all KPIs using our systematic approach of test & learn. We categorized all communication ideas and tested them against target audiences in all target markets. We furthermore introduced a new way to analyze performance results using pRank methodology. The pRank takes into consideration what we want to achieve in a market and enables us to identify potential campaign-winners and losers faster. F.i. we entered Korea and focused on getting enough installs to learn faster -> with Admiral's pRank it seemed to work even more efficiently.

Their dedication and the partnership that Admiral Media provides us with is really unique. Campaigns get managed, optimized with excellent project management and communication, which make them very easy and effective to work with. Be ready to listen because they’ve got a lot of experience and good inputs.

What challenge were you trying to address with Admiral Media?

We had a hard time getting any users through Facebook and needed some help.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Admiral Media helped us with our social media marketing. Their main task was to acquire more users through Facebook. 

They used Adjust to track and help us get more insight on the users we acquire. For each user we acquire, we can see if they’re likely to uninstall the app quickly or keep the app for months. This is something we didn’t have before. Admiral Media introduced us to this platform to us and helped us with it. We still use it even though we’re no longer working with them; it was really helpful.

What is the team composition?

We worked with the head of Admiral Media, one of his assistants, and a creative director. The main contact was the head of the company.

How did you come to work with Admiral Media?

They proposed a shore time frame of about six weeks. We did a test and didn’t have to commit to any long-term contracts in the beginning. It was very good and we agreed to work with them for the entire year.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about €50,000 (approximately $55,000 USD).

We worked together from April until December 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It was a very good collaboration. Our main goal was to work with Admiral Media for a year and get insights from them about how to build up a team in our company to do the tasks that they helped us with. That’s exactly what we achieved. They helped us identify tools like Adjust. They showed us how to do ads on Facebook properly. They provided us a lot of training. Now, we’re able to use these solutions and strategies on our own. 

How did Admiral Media perform from a project management standpoint?

We weren’t strict on deadlines but they would have committed to any deadlines if we gave them any. They were professional yet light-hearted. Whenever we had a problem, we could hit them up and have a call within a couple of minutes. They were always available and very easy to talk to.

Due to their experience with other clients, Admiral Media could provide real market insights and tell us how things work in other branches and networks.

When we launched our first app marketing campaigns we quickly realized that we will need professional help. At that stage our company was still rather small and the team 200% product focused. So the decision to look for an experienced app marketing agency that has a proven track record with rapid growth apps wasclear. We wanted an agency that would be able to run various user acquisition campaigns across all digital marketing channels but also understands the technical complexities of tracking & reporting in the app industry.

We wanted to scale our app marketing from almost 0 to 1 million as fast as possible. First tests had shown that our funnel works and users love the app. The acquisition campaigns had to be catered to our special weightloss offering and target the right audience at the right time with the right message in order to scale our userbase and revenue.

Admiral Media has a proven track record in the app marketing industry. No matter whom we asked if they could recommend someone to run their app marketing campaigns – almost everyone mentioned the same name. After initial hangouts the decision was very clear. We couldn’t find another partner with a better understanding of app marketing.

Admiral Media started with acquisition campaigns on Facebook, Google & Apple Search. They also helped us finding the best target markets, audiences and which creatives perform best. From here Admiral Media quickly offered to scale even further across channels like Snapchat, Pinterest, TikTok or native ads / content marketing ads. We didn’t expect such a portfolio and capabilities but we are happy that Admiral Media was able to hypergrow our marketing spend & usergrowth in such a fast pace. Obviously this only worked so well because of their understanding of technical limitations and opportunities, the almost 24/7 service & strong analytical setup.

From our side it is basically me and my co-Founder who challenge the work of Admiral Media. We provide them with creative assets and on their end we currently have a dedicated team of 3 experienced adops working fulltime on our growth.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since the beginning of our work with Admiral Media, we have seen only one direction: upwards. This is certainly also driven by our great product but I wouldn’t have expected such an exponential user growth of 500% each month sofar – on a global scale. At this stage we cannot disclose more numbers

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Well, the results speak for themselves.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

At the moment it seems we are their best client – at least they give us that feeling by being available almost 24/7 – campaigns get managed, optimised etc even over the weekend. Sometimes I see them doing changes on the campaigns late at night. Not sure if they can keep that pace but for now this is certainly something I wouldn’t expect from a standard agency.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Data Science – they could improve their science game a bit but I am sure this willcome over time.

Admiral Media handles our day-to-day campaign operations. The team continually optimizes our campaigns and runs different creative and campaign tests across Pinterest, Meta, TikTok, Apple Search Ads, and Google to make our ads more efficient. Admiral Media also provides great consultation, guiding us towards different platforms campaign objectives we should consider to best reach our goals.

Admiral Media has provided very strong creatives at efficient prices. The team has brainstormed and taken feedback from us before organizing and delivering the creatives with external influencers or their in-house graphic design team. Admiral Media has also helped with MMP integration, solving attribution issues, and addressing complicated rejections on Meta and TikTok ad platforms.

Over our work, Admiral Media has organized quality video creatives with external influencers on top of the creatives we supplied. The team has created different variants of the creatives to run on platforms with high conversions. Admiral Media has also created quality static creatives and worked with our feedback to continually optimize them, such as seasonal assets for Halloween, summer, and Valentine’s Day.

In terms of campaign management, Admiral Media has delivered a positive ROI on many campaigns, taking the learnings to improve other campaigns, which is especially impressive given our lower-than-average in-app conversions.
