As a fairly new early-stage startup, we needed to cover specific roles on our backend development side. Given that, we engaged Adexin to address certain gaps in our development process.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team reviewed our development approach and assigned one of their developers to work with us on the backend. We provided them with documentation of our tech stack. Together, digitized the entire documentation process for standard shipping, where many documents must be created whenever we sent a container from point A to point B. Certain documents must also come in their original form, printed, signed, and shipped by post. 

With the digitized process, users could create documents using templates on our platform, transferring them using the blockchain to save the audit trail. A user could send any document to another user by creating a digital asset version of it, which wouldn’t be changed in any way during transit. They could also see the blockchain to check who sent the documents and when.

I joined a networking event in Helsinki that had a networking program where we could message participants in the event. Attendees could have a 20-minute call with other participants. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Adexin met our expectations, and we had a truly positive experience with them. As a small team, we needed more hands on deck — they provided us with enough firepower to let our specialized developer focus on us while Adexin focused on our other goals. 

How did Adexin perform from a project management standpoint?

The project manager and the developer hit the deadline we set. On top of that, they were quite responsive. The developer was with us on our daily standups. Meanwhile, we had a call with the project manager once a month to review how the project was going and if they needed anything else. To manage the project, we used Slack and Jira. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with their honesty. Aside from that, when we asked them for a specific developer, they gave us exactly what we wanted. They were also flexible despite their tight schedules.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The product works how it’s supposed to, and its design looks pretty. Unfortunately, the project hasn’t succeeded due to its concept, so we’ve decided to move forward with a different one. Although we haven’t gotten the expected results, this has nothing to do with Adexin’s work; they’ve been easy to work with and delivered what they said. 

How did Adexin perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m the project manager and responsible for the schedule, so I don’t point to Adexin for any delays we might have. The team does what we expect, and I’m very happy with their performance. 

As for tools, we use Figma to collaborate on design and Github for the code. Asana is our project management software. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really like Adexin’s flexibility. The development team and the designer are both easy to work with. Moreover, they accommodate our wishes but also think for themselves, so they’ve made suggestions that work nicely. They don’t just take instructions; we think about things together. 

Our business developer also stands out; he worked to accommodate requests during the product’s development and organized with his team to make sure they could finish what we needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In this type of project, the more senior people you can bring on board, the better, and I’ve worked with relatively junior teammates. However, sticking with junior teammates is also important because it’s the only way to grow talents and not lose them when they once they have more experience. Therefore, this is a good thing in the end. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d suggest letting Adexin bring their own ideas. Don’t just tell them what to do; they’re smart and can help you problem-solve.

It was necessary to assemble a team of professionals who would be able, in an agile manner, to develop an important part of a large system for our customer. The system was developed and launched in close contact with the client, which helped avoid problems with integrating the new functionality with the existing system.

We are long-standing partners with Adexin and have worked together on several projects in the past. At the same time, .NET technology is their key expertise. Therefore, the choice was obvious. Also, the customer himself conducted a series of interviews from which he chose a person who met their requirements.

This customer works in the advertising industry. The main tasks were pre-processing and validation of configuration files from clients for subsequent display of advertisements on youtube, vimeo and various other streaming services. Development was done using .NET using the Amazon AWS infrastructure.

The end customer managed the structure and composition of the team. On the Adexin side, this was one very experienced .net back-end developer who was well integrated into an existing project. Front-end development was carried out using the React framework.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Adexin provides us with development services. They’ve created a couple of servers using Node.js and a CMS with HTML user interfaces. They also help us with data management, and they handle all of the data analytics for our clients.

First, they developed and tested the first server. As the second server was part of the same project, they worked the same way and helped us create the technical specifications. Then, they implemented and deployed it, and they handled all the QA. Now, they provide maintenance to both servers.

The other part of their involvement is around map data. They’ve handled and analyzed a lot of map data for us, and they created a server for us that handles all the requests online for our game and our players. Additionally, they created a couple of big map content game services with user interfaces.

We didn’t provide Adexin with specific requirements initially. Instead, they participated with us to innovate our developments and create a plan on what we should do next. They essentially became a part of our team, and we’re really happy with them.

Adexin has helped us develop everything faster. Their ramp-up time was also quick, helping us save at least four months at the beginning of the project. Working with them, we’ve also seen large cost savings compared to other local companies in Finland; we saved 50%–70% on costs.

Adexin is reliable and capable of working independently, and they have a very skilled team. They’ve supported us and delivered for our client on time. Our client is very happy with the quality of their work. Overall, it has been a very successful project.

I’m very happy Adexin’s project management. They have excellent management skills and manage their time very well, so we haven’t had to micromanage them. Their great work and support have saved a lot of time for our team.

Adexin focuses on delivering what fits our needs and our client’s needs. Building a trustworthy relationship with them has been very important to us. They’re very flexible if we have to change something, and our communication is excellent.

We approached Adexin with the idea to automatize our business which is translation management for our client. We discussed our needs and challenges in a number of initial meetings, and Adexin came up with a solution: a web portal that links all the stakeholders, i.e. our administrators, clients and translators.

After defining the scope of work they started developing promptly. They launched the project quickly and managed all the technical matters themselves. The project is now live, supported by Adexin guys. I was happy that they were quick to understand our challenge, listened carefully, proposed solutions and did not bother us with technical issues.

It is important for us that Adexin are flexible and ready to enhance or change the project anytime. Technical stack is Javascript, .NET and AWS as a cloud platform.

They’ve been really fast and efficient on all the tasks I’ve given to them. The team does their job very well. Compared to other outsourcing companies we’ve worked with, they’re the best we’ve encountered. They exceed our expectations and are an honest team about the hours they work and charge.

The account manager is really good at what he does — he keeps me up to date. If there is ever any problem, I just send him a message and he’s really quick to reply. He then delivers the message to the developers. He’s really good with people and is also a technical person, which makes communication easy. We mainly speak through email, WhatsApp, and Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing is how they keep on delivering. Usually, when I start with a new company, only the first month is good, but Adexin continues to exceed our expectations every month. They have a really good track record.
