Video/ audio service

Service that provides video/audio calls and chat

Multi-platform cloud-based video conferencing service that is easily integrated with customer's websites with just a few lines of code. Available and planned features: audio and video calls (including multi-user calls), immediate chat, call monetization, screen sharing, file exchange, call recording. Customers can select between ready to use widgets or make a custom solution based on the service.

Peer-to-peer rental marketplace

The essence of the project is a marketplace, which ranks a variety of proposals for rentals of goods. The goal was to unite as many suppliers of goods as possible and to become a regulator of the rental market.

The created rental platform is able to simultaneously unite users who can be a provider of services as well as a rental firm at the same time. Tight deadline with a limited budget were just a few challenges and this is why Ruby on Rails was chosen for project implementation which is ideal for rapid prototyping of start-ups. A team of full-stack programmers that performed development and testing functions was dedicated to work on the project.

The project attracted investors. In the summer of 2014, Rentmania passed acceleration in the FRI, which according to the results received an investment of 1.4 million rubles in exchange for a 7% stake in the company. In the same year the startup became a finalist of the GenerationS contest and received a grant for 1...

Multi-platform with one code base fundraising portal

FunderQ is a user-friendly service that helps users to raise funds for the causes and ventures that are important to them.

One of the challenges on the project was to make the solution compatible with different browsers as well as support peer to peer video talks. Adexin’s highly-qualified Web RTC developers went above and beyond the client expectations and designed the application’s architecture that exceeded the original minimum set of requirements for the browser support. We also developed a new admin management panel to easily add, remove, and configure client entities.

Global Agriculture Market Place

From Proof of Concept to Prototype to MVP. Lack of clarity in the scope of the project was a major challenge. Close communication and collaboration with the client, research of the industry and analysis of competitors helped us to get an overall view of end users. We wanted to have a complete picture of the audience needs. Another win on the project is the right project management methodology. Agile is a clear winner when it comes to small projects (which are usually developed as MVPs) with a higher chaos resolution rate and lower failure risk. Lastly, we focused on choosing the right tech stack – PHP and Symfony framework. All of these steps made the project a big win at the end!

International airport app

Official app of the international airport

Integration with existing systems, support for a large customer network and a tight timeline were just a few challenges. Our focus was on providing an easy to use navigation to streamline and simplify the user experience.

We managed the project schedule tightly – scope, potential risks, change orders and did frequent checks to make sure everyone knew what was expected of them. One of the client requirements was to be ready before the 2018 football championship. So we tracked, tracked, and tracked some more. And Succeeded!

Navigation platform

Navigation platform inside of a building with precision and accuracy

B2B platform that allows detecting users and/ or equipment location inside of a building with precision and accuracy. Using an indoor navigation and indoor motion tracking mechanism the app analyzes customer movements and develops a navigation system for them. The technological core of the system is based on the joint processing of Wi-Fi / Bluetooth LE signals and measurements from internal sensors that allows the app to archive a positioning accuracy of 1 meter and still be quickly and easily deployed for mobile and web solutions.

Navigine is an enterprise platform based on iBeacon technology. This is a successful startup which raised more than 2M$ and have more than 500 installations worldwide. One of their customer’s is Kesko - a well known chain of supermarkets in Finland.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of an airport technology company. We develop IT solutions for airports in Russia.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Adexin?

We needed a partner to develop a mobile application as we’re not very strong in that area and don’t have enough people to do it.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed our iOS and Android app using Xamarin, and also built the CMS. The application includes flight boards where users can see arrival and departure information. It connects to the internal airport systems and obtains the information about flights. It also allows users to see general information about the airports and relevant contacts, to whom they can connect and make a phone call.

What is the team composition?

The team consisted of five or six people: a designer, iOS and Android developers, a backend developer, and a project manager who worked with the solution architecture.

How did you come to work with Adexin?

We were working with another partner on our navigation systems, then they referred Adexin for mobile development. They’ve worked with them for many years and said they were very professional and flexible, plus their price was good.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $13,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from May–June 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything was done very quickly and professionally. The airport is using the app and they’re happy with it. It was an important, large project for us as it was a new collaboration with a very large client. Since this was a success, it gave us the opportunity for further projects in the future.

How did Adexin perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management was good. We were in close contact through Skype and were always connected, even on the weekends.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re reliable, which impresses me. It’s very rare to find a partner who shares the presale. It took around six months, during which we had to show different designs of the application and financial models of the project. The client wanted to know everything so Adexin spent a lot of time helping us sell it.

Their COO took vacation during the project but was still on our messages and chats every day, and also looking at the code.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

No.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the Founder and CEO of Rentmania Oy. Rentmania We’re a peer-to-peer rental marketplace that offers goods on demand.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Adexin?

We wanted to create a platform where users could rent items to each other.

What were your goals for this project?

Our platform allows users to rent out items they own but aren’t using much, so we wanted to allow as many people as possible to connect through our service.  At the same time, we also wanted to establish ourselves as a regulator of this kind of market.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We received a recommendation from another company that had worked with Adexin. They assured us that we’d be able to get a high-performance app with complex functionalities.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

They provided all of our software development services, starting from implementation. They used Ruby on Rails to build the app for us and performed development, testing, and installation.

What was the team composition?

We worked with their CTO and two full-stack programmers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We’ve seen tremendous growth in our product as a result of their help. We attracted significant investments in the project between 2014–2016. The Internet Initiatives Development Fund gave us 1.4 million rubles in exchange for a 7% stake in the company. We were also a finalist in the GenerationS contest and received a grant for 1 million rubles from the Bortnik Foundation. A Finnish company that supports startups chose us for a five-week program. In May 2016, our founders bought back the stakes in the company and attracted independent donations. Our platform is now available in Moscow and we plan to expand its reach.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Our communication strategy was very efficient and their whole team collaborated well. Their CTO guided technical strategy, gave great recommendations regarding the system architecture, and was a team player.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They delivered us a fully-functioning system despite our limited budget and tight timeline. Any technical issues that came up were resolved quickly. Communication and delivery were not only smooth but also enjoyable. They cared about our goals and priorities, and provided superior support even during difficult times.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

It would be great if they could also provide SEO for web projects.

Documentation time has plummeted in the new system, and users retained functionality throughout the project. Adexin communicated consistently and has stayed in touch a year after delivery. They provided flexibility in all their processes including payment, staffing, and work hours.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the founder and managing partner of CodeWeRx, an IT consulting firm specializing in healthcare and startups.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Adexin?

Adexin served as development overflow for a vast majority of a rehab-specific electronic medical record (EMR) project. Over the course of three years, we developed an efficient, functional, and feature-rich system.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to save our providers time.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We’d worked with Adexin on several smaller projects previously, and they were always professional in meeting their deadlines and adjusting to an ever-changing environment.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

We took over a platform written in a legacy source code. We eventually migrated the platform to a two-factor authentication, web-based platform hosted in the cloud with encrypted EMR files. Users maintained functionality throughout the project.

What was the team composition?

At the highest point, we had 11 resources including senior and mid-level developers, a mobile app developer, a UI designer, and three testers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This project was one of the defining points of my career. We not only pleased the client immensely but also served a lot of people. Before the first iteration, documenting each visit took providers 90 minutes. By the time we finished, those the process was significantly more rich and compliant, yet only required 12–13 minutes.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I served as the project manager and communicated daily with a project lead from Adexin. The communication was effortless, and we still talk to this day, a year after the project ended.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Adexin's flexibility in resource staffing, terms of payment, and hours of operation made us great partners.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

It would be nice if they had more ancillary resources and technologies like PUSH notifications and SharePoint, however, those technologies are expensive to staff. We mostly use Java, PHP, and Angular anyway, so it wouldn’t be fair to suggest.

Adexin is maintaining a smooth and satisfying level of collaboration with the internal development team. They deftly solve problems that arise and provide impactful education for internal growth. Supportive and reliable, the team offers a remarkable degree of availability even outside the work week.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO at Navigine. We created a software platform for precise indoor positioning. It works like Google Maps, but also shows your location when you enter buildings like shopping malls, airports, and train stations. The platform consists of a mobile SDK and backend.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Adexin?

We needed additional support with development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Adexin helped us develop our software platform. They’re focusing on a major portion of the platform that includes many aspects that work on the server, in the cloud, or in an on-premise environment. Internally, we only developed the mobile component.

The team provides software development support for PHP programming, MySQL, Postgres, Docker containers, Node.js, Angular, and jQuery. Adexin has helped us better understand the technical requirements we need to build a product. Their training has educated our own team on how to deploy and implement changes inside the system.

What is the team composition?

Adexin assigned us a project manager and technical resources who work with us on a sprint basis.

How did you come to work with Adexin?

A friend recommended Adexin to me. We compared vendors’ prices and experience. Based on their presentation describing their services, we decided to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $150,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2015, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My team is pleased to be working with Adexin. Their managers are highly supportive, which is very important to us.

How did Adexin perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a weekly sprint and use a task manager. We started off using Jira and now work with Redmine.  Our team is extremely happy with our communication, documentation, and coordination with Adexin.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Adexin capably solved problems very quickly. They always have someone available to help us, even on nights and weekends.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Adexin is doing a very good job. They could expand their technology spec by hiring Node.js professionals or in other specialized fields of technology.
