We hired Gammastack to build our custom crypto casino from scratch. It includes 7 original games like Plinko, Hilo, Dice. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

About 70% of the codebase was completed. It took us about 2 months to finalize the project after handover, so you could say they did make some progress for us - although we did need to re-write most of the code. Many parts of the platform did work, such as changing profile picture, chat messaging, placing bets. The problem was the inconsistencies - the code was laggy and slow even when it did work.

Project Management was very poor. 

They promised deliver in 3 months, but its been over 9 months now. 
We had weekly meetings and communicated all the feedback we expected to be implemented, but each week only about half the feedback would be implemented. There were some feedbacks which weren't implemented for weeks and weeks and were forgotten about unless we chased them up on it. 
As delays piled up, they actually removed devs from the team instead of adding devs, because they said they needed to move on to other projects. 
So the project got slower and slower until eventually it was clear that they had no intention of finalizing the project. They were dragging our feet to make us leave.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their engineering staff always showed good character - friendly people who always said yes, but they couldn't actually deliver what we asked. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something GammaStack could have done differently?

Yes, there are a number of areas I'd improve:
1) Improve Code Quality and Performance
The code they wrote was not performant. It was very slow and laggy. We had to re-write the page routing for all pages to speed it up to a normal speed. We are still finding and fixing bugs in the code to this day. 

2) Fix Faulty Code 

Gammastack wrote us code for 7 Original Games. 4/7 games do not work as intended - the RTP "Return to Player" doesn't work. There are literally parts of the code missing which we are now fixing. We asked them for a call to help us, but they said they won't unlesss we pay them more money (!). 

3) Frontend UI UX 

We designed all our UI UX, but Gammastacks frontend engineers kept getting it wrong. It might be a skill or cultural issue, but they literally couldn't copy our designs. They kept changing the fonts, font sizes, colors. The scaling and dimensions were all wrong. We wasted so much time pointing out things that could've been seen by anyone who bothered to make the effort to copy the designs perfectly. 

4) Deadline management

We chose Gammastack because they promised a 3 month deliver. It took 9 months and every single month they told us delivery was just around the corner

5) Account Management Team

I'd like to highlight Daisy as a big point of potential improvement. She was our account manager, but actually her role was to block us as much as possible. She blocked pretty much every one of my requests for escalation. She was useless and did not help at all. If she was able to put me in contact with a decision maker, it might have avoided the mess we are in now.
6) Misleading Sales Process
The Sales team is based in Europe, Dev team is based in India. Its like working with two totally different companies. This is obviously intentionally done and highlights the deception happening at Gammstack.
