Vice President, Data Analytics Company
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 5,001-10,000 Employees
- Review Type: Online Review

**The Review** — Sep 23, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: For years, QBurst has been consistent in producing top-notch work for the client. They demonstrate effective project management and communication despite working remotely. Their reliability, consistency, low staff turnover, and organized process ensure a continuous and fruitful partnership.
""Qburst has been consistent in their work and that has been the reason I stay with them.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a Product VP working for one of the largest real estate technology providers in the US. We cater to the multifamily apartment housing space which accounts for 40 million units of housing stock.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire QBurst, and what were your goals?

Since 2014 I have been working in various areas of the multifamily real estate market. This market is extremely fragmented and my job is to streamline processes and integrations while driving costs down.

I contracted with Qburst to build hundreds of apartment property websites, integrations with HR systems and other ERP applications, as well as custom data processing and syndication systems.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I was referred to Qburst back in 2014 by a colleague of mine. I have done work with many offshore companies over the years with mixed reviews; some great / some not so much. Qburst has been consistent in their work and that has been the reason I stay with them.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope was different in every project (and there have been hundreds of projects). But the project management and communication was never an issue despite the cultural and geographic differences. Every project was extremely well documented and follow-ups were never needed. I've had Qburst code in multiple coding languages and frameworks without issue.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I consistently worked with one project manager for web and application development projects and another project manager for more task-based labor augmentation processes.

For years, my main POC for each of these areas of business have never changed. At times, they have needed to bring in additional resources or specialists but everything really flowed well through the main project manager.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

For confidentiality I am limited in my details, but on every one of my projects (when compared to similar websites, applications, etc.) it was found to be using best-in-class methodologies and earned praise from those that interacted with their deliverables.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

For day to day, I communicated with them via Skype and zoom. For project management, I operated mainly our of basecamp.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They had a great "near shore" presence and was frequently visited by their teams locally in the US. Most offshore companies you never have face-to-face interaction and was very nice to connect with them on occasion and made the working relationship even stronger.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None - While they are not always the cheapest, I can count on them as the best.

"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of a digital marketing startup.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

Our four apps that had been built by another vendor were not performing well. We needed QBurst to conduct code testing.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

QBurst did a month of extensive testing on our apps. Using the test results and market analysis studies, they advised my company on how we should move forward. They also guided us on a few other minor projects.

What is the team composition?

My team engaged with one marketing executive and three developers.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

We searched for software developers on Clutch. QBurst had great reviews. When we contacted them, they provided impressive work samples and excellent references.

How much have you invested with them?

The work was done at no cost to us because my company could not move forward with the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement occurred in October 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Due to legal issues, my company could not proceed with the project. QBurst was extremely understanding of the situation and did not charge us for the initial testing, market studies, and industry advice.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team was superb in terms of project management. They were professional and punctual.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team was organized. They answered questions clearly and provided great options for enhancing our app code.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I would have them do differently. They’re an outstanding professional group that offers many services.

Co-Founder, e-Commerce Site
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Nov 16, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: Qburst’s methodical engineering, timely production, and ability to engage in a seamless collaboration allowed them to build a core product that’s won several awards. Their team continues to be dependable, honest, and proactive during development phases.
"“They’re a very dedicated engineering team.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder and CTO of an early-stage e-commerce startup.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Qburst?

We needed support to build our e-commerce web application.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Qburst has turned my request for resources around quickly, and the documentation was very smooth. We onboarded the candidates within a week, so it worked out really well for us. The engineers they brought on board were talented and engaged, and they had the experience we needed. They understood the product, and were able to contribute immediately.

They were focused on building the web app for our e-commerce site, but they also provided some backend support for us. They used Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Python, and some of the parts were custom-built.

What is the team dynamic?

There’s been 2 team members from the beginning. My primary contact has been the business development head, and he’s available for any resource I need. If I need to connect with the actual engineers, then I talk to them directly.

How did you come to work with Qburst?

I heard about Qburst through a friend who was already successfully working with them. I decided to reach out to them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent less than $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2016, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve been supporting us in creating a lot of the tools that helped us build our core product really well. We’ve won several awards over this year as the best product in the space, so Qburst’s work has really helped us.

How did Qburst perform from a project management standpoint?

Qburst offered project management services, but I didn’t use it because I handled it myself. The engineers were methodical in abating the status every day, and were always on time for standups and other calls we had. I didn’t need to have a separate project manager because it’s very easy to work with them. We communicate primarily through Hangouts, Skype, and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a very dedicated engineering team. They’re very trustworthy and dependable, and always ready to start working. They required less time to prepare and were able to contribute quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m unsure if their engineers work in another time zone completely because I’ve never asked them, so maybe that’s something to explore.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I suggest having a very clear goal of what needs to be done, especially if working in different time zones. If engineers aren’t able to get the clarity they need when starting a task, it’s difficult to keep things moving. They were able to do a great job if I had all of those requirements laid out and properly explained.

#### Mobile App Dev for Consumer Engagement Platform
**The Project**
- Services: Mobile App Development
- Project size: $50,000 to $199,999
- Project length: May 2017 - Ongoing

**Project Summary**: QBurst has been contracted to build a video exchange iOS and Android mobile application.

Head of Operations, Consumer Engagement Platform
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 11-50 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Nov 14, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: They immediately understood their client’s needs and expectations and assembled an excellent team to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget. They remain very flexible and responsive to whatever concerns the client has and changes that need to made.
" "I can’t speak highly enough of our partnership with them from its inception."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of operations and customer experience at a consumer engagement and video exchange platform.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

We needed developers who could build us an iOS and Android mobile application for our platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The development has been divided up into two phases. In the first phase, they created a working prototype in about a month, which we took back to our investment team. When we got the green light to move ahead with a full release of the app, they began building both its backend databases and frontend user-interface. They’re currently working on integrating other social media platforms into the app and ensuring optimization. We’re about 80 percent done with phase two.

What is the team dynamic?

At the beginning of the project, we engaged most frequently with QBurst partners. Now, we check in periodically with the partners and have a nearly daily interaction with their development lead.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

They were referred to us by someone within our start-up business community. We looked at their website and found out more about their areas of expertise. We then had an initial call with them and decided they were a good fit for us.

How much have you invested with them?

For both phases of production, we invested about $105,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in May 2017 and our engagement with them is ongoing. We will likely continue our engagement with them for any subsequent phases.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Despite the number of changes we requested throughout each phase, they remained within budget and continue to work within the timeline we agreed upon. Their work was excellent and we are very happy with what they have produced for us.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

I can’t speak highly enough of our partnership with them from its inception. They were able to understand our business model and put together a team that supports our needs. They composed a project timeline that the team adheres to. We check in with each other periodically usually via conference call or email, but they are very responsive whenever needed and address our concerns immediately. Throughout the process, we have also communicated through Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Trello so that each respective team is able to remain organized and update information as we move forward.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their development team is stellar. There have been instances during both phases where we’ve made a requirement change or altered the path to production, and their team has been very agile and flexible to our needs.

Their executive team behaves as our partners. They have a vested interest in our success.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One of the challenges they have is being able to keep up with the most up-to-date standards and trends of mobile application industry. However, this did not pose any serious issues for this project or affect the quality of their work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you have full review sessions early in the process to go over your requirements in detail. That way, you’re able to set expectations and ensure they are abundantly clear on deliverables and deadlines.

Managing Director, Silicon Valley Capital

**The Review** — Nov 2, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst shares the same mindset as start-ups, making them a reliable partner when it comes to understanding the flexibility needed to make their projects successful. They have an extremely quick turnaround that continues to impress.
""I believe they are a good fit for any early-stage company."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am a managing director of Silicon Valley Capital. We are a venture capital fund based out of Orange County, California. We invest in a number of medical device companies.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

Our firm needed help with development for start-up businesses.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Most of the time, start-ups have a common theme with a big idea, an aggressive timeline, and very little money. For these reasons, it's hard to find a development house that will work with start-ups.

One project they worked on was the development of a consumer software in the entertainment industry. It's a mobile app for iOS and Android. We have an internal team that creates the vision for the product and a designer who creates the general product structure and flow. QBurst will then take care of defining the architecture of the product, including its actual implementation, coding, and development strategy. The app has many features, screens, and complex workflows. QBurst was able to accomplish all of that development work in about 3 to 4 months.

We also had them work on a web project for a medical device company. It is a $30 billion-dollar industry and we believe that this product has very significant potential in making it big. It was a unique situation where the company had FDA approval, but they didn’t have a portal to sell, nor a resource to support the sales process. I connected the founding team with QBurst, and that project also took about 3.5 months. They were able to quickly come on board and produce the web assets that the company needs in order to go to market.

Overall, I have been really impressed with their quick turnaround, and how fast they come up to speed. They are very flexible, which is necessary when working with start-ups. In both projects, there were many deviations along the way, and they were able to manage the development within the cost set out in the beginning.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

I was considering a couple of other firms at the time. QBurst was recommended to me by one of my other associates who had a good relationship with them. We did a test project with them, during which we were able to understand their capabilities and how they work. QBurst is now one of my top options when we need to hire offshore.

How much have you invested in them?

We have spent anywhere between $100,000—$1,000,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in January of this year, and the relationship is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Start-ups live and die by quantitative metrics as they have very little room for error. Everything is driven by two metrics: cost and time. QBurst somehow managed to put an offshore team together to meet the launch date.

From the time they delivered code to the time we went to the QA and QC cycle, the defect rate, defect density, find and close rates were all within acceptable parameters. The QA and QC phase was within a week, which tells you that their defect density is low, and when there were defects, they took care of them quickly. For both qualitative and quantitative metrics, they do a nice job compared to a lot of their peers.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent. I get regular updates from two of the project managers. In start-ups, you need to have an Agile mindset. They use methodologies and are very pragmatic in realizing that not everything goes smoothly. They are very communicative as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There are not many offshore companies that are wired to work with start-up and early-stage companies. QBurst definitely has that start-up mindset. I believe they are a good fit for any early-stage company.

Are there any areas they could improve?

To be more successful, they could have a better sales presence. They are a hidden gem, and they are not doing themselves full justice without hiring a decent sales team to reach more people than just by word of mouth.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to do a test project with them and see how you like them. Hopefully, your experience will match my experience.

**The Review** — Oct 27, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: Feedback from customers has been positive. The team had to learn the Salesforce Lighting framework using their resources, and the successful end product proved the hard work worth it. Their scaling flexibility and varied communication helped solidify future collaboration.
""[W]e’re impressed with the quality of their resources."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am a co-founder of Sales Canary.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

We were looking for a company that could help us build a Salesforce Apex product.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us design, architect, build, and test our solution. They’re also providing ongoing support for any changes within Salesforce and expanding the product as we evolve. It’s been full-scope product development from design to delivery.

Beyond the basic Salesforce capabilities, some of the major components of our solution include third-party reporting tools, specifically Highcharts. They’ve not only helped on the architecture and product development parts of our solution but also the UI piece for both desktop and mobile devices.

We have an artificial intelligence productive modeling component, the infrastructure of which they helped us build and integrate into the Salesforce platform.

What is the team dynamic?

We work with 2–8 people from their team at any given time. They can scale as we need it, both up and down.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

Someone referred us to the company based on past experience. We evaluated QBurst and found that they had a Salesforce-focused team. We felt good about their capabilities and signed up for building a solution.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost of their work has been between $125,000 and $150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with QBurst at least 2 years ago, around August or September of 2015. The collaboration is ongoing, and we plan to keep using them in the future.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Customers have been using our product, and most of the feedback has been on the feature side. So far, it’s been positive for the desktop version, but we're still working on the mobile piece.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

Their flexibility in scaling the team was important for our business. It’s been an ongoing relationship for us, and we’ve been fairly happy with the timelines. There have been some delays, but I attribute those more to the security policies within Salesforce, as the platform itself was not fully mature at the time. We communicate through WebEx, WhatsApp, phone, and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our experience with them has been phenomenal. Their customer service is very good, and we’re impressed with the quality of their resources.

Beyond Salesforce, we also needed UI, web development, analytics, and Amazon Web Services expertise. They provided those resources seamlessly, which has been good for the lifecycle development of our product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The Salesforce Lightning framework was new at the time, so it was new to their resources as well. It caused some delays, and it was a learning experience for everyone, but I attribute it to the platform we chose.

**The Review** — Aug 24, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: Product installations increased from zero in 2013 to well over 200 in 2017. Seamless integration with internal dev teams, competitive pricing, and uncompromising communication make QBurst a strong partner.
""For any startup company, a partner like QBurst is a great fit.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of StayNTouch, which was started in 2012 to bring change in the hospitality industry. My partner and I came from MICROS, which is a hospitality technology leader that offers PMSs [property management systems], POS [point of sale], and similar products. After working for MICROS for 10 years, we decided to start our own company, building cloud-based solutions for hotels and offering a more mobile-centric enterprise product through which clients can manage their reservations, publish rates, and integrate with online travel agencies and other third-party providers like SiteMinder, Synxis, Expedia, Travelocity, Hotwire, and Priceline.com. Our platform also lets guests check-in and check-out remotely through their mobile devices.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

When we started in 2012, our business had limited funding. We were looking for a partner who could prototype our product at a reasonable price.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

QBurst has been involved in the design, architecture, and overall build of the product. We have an in-house designer who created mockups and flows. QBurst translated these designs into HTML and CSS and engaged a few of their resources to create some assets for our mockups. They’ve continued to provide enhancements for our product.

We have a development office in Bethesda, Maryland that QBurst augments with additional resources in India. They provided our first developers before starting the U.S. office. We have also worked with their architect at the Calicut office, who was involved heavily in ironing out the details of the design and the overall architecture.

The product has multiple features. The first phase of the project involved building a user interface [UI] layer on top of an existing PMS. If the customer has a system in place, they can use our platform on top of their application. We communicate via the services they provide and the end-points they have, exchanging data between our system and theirs.

QBurst built this overlay module, which we call Rover PMS Overlay, as well as the iOS and Android apps that allow guests to look up reservations and send messages.

As we continued to build the product, we added features and functionalities around payments, as well as a standalone PMS. The same platform could be overlaid with other PMS or work as a standalone product, offering features like creating reservations, managing rates, setting up and configuring room types, and publishing them through different channels. Both QBurst and our own team were involved in this process.

What is the team dynamic?

At peak capacity, I’d estimate that we had 30–35 developers from QBurst. Since the beginning, no one left our team unless we decided to let them go because of cost considerations. The team has been stable, and we enjoy working with each other. Not every resource is top-notch, but the team definitely possesses good talent.

Our CEO and I interviewed each candidate based on the project requirements. We were looking for both backend and UI developers, so we gave sample tests. We hired around 25 developers, and then we slowly onboarded architects and development managers in the company, who made hires on the same basis.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

I had worked with them before and knew what to expect, so I hired them for this venture as well. QBurst has a good setup in India with offices in Calicut, Trivandrum, and Kochi. I also come from Trivandrum, so I knew about these places. I was satisfied with the results of our previous projects, so I decided to give them an opportunity to work with us on this venture. We did get quotations from other companies in India and Eastern Europe. QBurst offered reasonable pricing and a solid infrastructure with a pool of available talent, which made me inclined to work with them again.

How much have you invested with them?

We have spent close to $2 million on QBurst’s services in the last four years.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with QBurst in July 2013. I had been involved with them prior to this.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The product started with zero installations in 2013 and has reached around 200 today.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

Our attrition rate is nonexistent. One of the key challenges for any company working with an offshore vendor is managing developer turnover, as resources will constantly have to be trained to understand the business practices and roles. We have not experienced this strain at all with QBurst. The team has been consistent from the start. After they picked up knowledge of our industry on their own, they started teaching the new team members themselves.

We follow an Agile methodology for our development process with two-week sprint cycles. Our product team is based across the globe, with members in Croatia, Germany, Australia, Dubai, and Ecuador. Across these different time zones, everyone has been able to work together with the QBurst team. They have modified their schedule to ensure sufficient overlap with us and the other product managers across the world.

In each sprint, QBurst’s team works according to an Agile process and delivers the output for QA [quality assurance] and production. In a few sprints, the team didn’t deliver well, but this wasn’t just QBurst’s fault; features or requirements were not clear, things were moved, and so on.

We’ve used all kinds of tools for communication, including Skype, email, JIRA for managing work items, and other Atlassian products.

What did you find most impressive about them?

QBurst is a good-sized company to work with. They have a great talent pool, coming from some of the best colleges in India. Everyone is really bright, and even the newer people on the project tend to acclimate quickly and contribute to the product development. QBurst also has a helpful technical support team, and we use their services for managing our server setups and overall technical operations. For any startup company, a partner like QBurst is a great fit. They can offer reasonable pricing for prototypes and product launches. Plus, if the system is hosted on the cloud, they’re able to manage that setup. Clients can focus on the business, while the QBurst team will handle the actual product development.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Like any other offshore company, they tend to say yes to everything, which means they can over-promise and under-deliver at times. QBurst could definitely improve their communication as far as the real expectations of what can and cannot be delivered.

Project management could also be improved, but the working method is different for us: instead of assigning work to them, we make the QBurst developers a part of our own team and manage them on a day-to-day basis. They have met most quotations, but they could still improve their project management activities in India.

**The Review** — Jul 28, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst reliably achieves what they promise and does so at a competitive price. Another impressive trait is their ability to prioritize features more critical to the core solution. Time zone differences are challenging but rarely undermine important progress.
""QBurst is the best offshore developer I’ve ever used.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

I'm the president of Pet Connect, a marketplace for pet service providers based in Washington, D.C.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

We needed an integrated web and mobile app developed for our pet services company.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement.

QBurst scoped out the project, determined timeline, and created a set of milestones within it. They helped me transform features into a product delivery schedule, and then they delivered on everything.

It’s a mobile and web application, but it’s primarily mobile-first. The app is a marketplace that allows pet owners to connect with pet-friendly resources, like a groomer, boarder, trainer, pet store. We’re like OpenTable [online reservation platform] for the pet industry.

The app was first developed for iOS, and then we hired a second developer from QBurst to take on an Android project. He did such a good job that we brought him on full time to be our frontend developer for both iOS and Android.

It’s been a moving target, but they delivered the core foundation well within 6 months, so right on time. We launched in December 2016.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

They had worked with a colleague of mine and had done a good job. It was recommended that I add them to the RFP process, which I did, along with 5 companies under consideration. QBurst came in with an affordable rate and had a proven track record of being able to produce, and so I brought them in.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

Probably $75,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them May 2016 and have been working together since.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

We have 100 businesses signed up at this time and we have users downloading the app in 34 different states.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

The original team was 3 people and then we went down to 1 person after the core product was delivered. We recently hired a second full time. We also had one dedicated project lead.

I probably talk with them once a month. Email is the primary source of communication with them, essentially because of the time zone difference. We periodically communicate by phone, too. And when we have to do something visual, we’ll use either WebX or Skype to connect.

Even though they're based in India, one of the best aspects of them is that, when I have escalated issues to them at non-optimal times, they’ve responded right away.

What distinguishes QBurst from other providers?

I’ve hired many offshore developers before but QBurst is the best offshore developer I’ve ever used. Their model is simple to use. The technologies that they incorporate as part of their offering are very user-friendly. They’ve met all their deadlines, which is a critical factor for me. They’re also very affordable. A lot of the offshore development teams consisting of recent graduates with little experience, but Qburst can put teams together that have serious talent.

Another important thing is that they can always prioritize developing new features that are likely to immediately impact the business.

Is there anything QBurst could have improved or done differently?

As with any offshore developer, you have to be willing to put in the QA time. To keep things affordable, they will do partial QA, but you also have to be willing to put in some of your own.

If an offshore developer is not willing to put in any QA work at all, that’s probably not the right choice. But overall, their code comes back pretty solid. I have very few complaints about these guys. I would definitely hire them again.

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst is a vast improvement in many areas, especially in communication and in fixing code flaws. Their ability to scale resources as needed and flexibility in adjusting their schedules to allow overlap stands out. They also have a US office that can be contacted for day-time support.
""[T]hey proved to be able to satisfy some of the things we couldn’t do with our initial vendor."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am a co-founder of a company that provides a fleet management solution for mobile and web platforms. It’s delivered as a SaaS [Software-as-a-Service] package and designed to keep fleets as efficient and effective as possible, acting as their central nervous system. We touch on a handful of modules, including file management for drivers, trucks, and the companies themselves, electronic tracking of driver hours, GPS and telematics, as well as post-accident processing and vehicle inspections and repair tracking.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

We became disenchanted with our previous developer. They had resource constraints and a hard time allocating developers on a consistent basis. They also transitioned us through 3 different project managers in a year’s time.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

QBurst put resumes together and we interviewed the developers or rather were introduced to them and their capabilities. They handle project management internally for their team. They line out sprints, handle development, and also help us with server, security, and architecture work, guiding us in that regard.

Our initial provider continued to work on new features while QBurst worked on bug fixing. As time went on, it became apparent that our first company wasn’t able to keep up with the philosophy of the project. We spun up an 18-person dedicated team from QBurst and have since backed down to 7 full-time resources. They were able to handle the bandwidth we needed.

We continue to develop the product — the biggest items we’re working on now are integration-focused. We have white-labeled the product and now provide it to third parties, which can sell our solution under their brand. We also tie into hardware devices so that we can gather information from the electronic control module of the vehicle. There are a number of hardware devices on the market to which we integrate.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

They were the runner-up choice when we hired our initial developer. We decided to talk to QBurst one more time, and they proved to be able to satisfy some of the things we couldn’t satisfy with our initial company.

How much have you invested with QBurst?

The cost of their work has been at least $250,000, but I couldn’t say specifically.

What is the status of this engagement?

We transitioned to a full-time collaboration with QBurst in August 2016.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We have gone through a stage of modularizing the code; our previous developer had more circular code, which QBurst streamlined and fixed to a degree. The communication with the team members was improved dramatically, which was a big success for us. We had found ourselves struggling to communicate clearly with the prior team, so QBurst was a good improvement.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

The development team is based in India, while we’re in Houston, so we never met face to face. It made sense for QBurst to manage the resources. I regularly correspond with the whole team through biweekly phone calls, where they ask us questions about the architecture and compliance. We also trade emails and Skype messages on a regular basis.

They have been extremely supportive and willing to adjust their hours, given that they’re half a world away. QBurst’s team comes in a bit later so that we can have more schedule overlap, but they’re always there in writing, anytime we need a call with a new customer.

We use JIRA for task tracking. Our biweekly meetings are usually done via Skype, but we also use GoToMeeting.

What did you find most impressive about QBurst?

I don’t know if I’m qualified to answer this, given that I’m not familiar enough with all the offshore options. One thing we do like about QBurst is that they have an office in Washington DC. If I need to get to someone during our own office hours, I can do so right away. QBurst is also strong in terms of support. The culmination of everything I’ve said differentiates them.

Are there any areas QBurst could improve?

I don’t know if this would be consistent for all customers, but having a cookie-cutter platform we could fall in line with instead of creating a custom one for us would be an improvement. Our previous company had a system in place for project management, using JIRA and other tools. When we went to QBurst, they asked us what we wanted to do. That conversation was a bit different for us, given that we’re not as technically experienced as some of their other customers. This is not a negative point, but it’s something we could have benefited from.

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst always brings a straightforward and candid attitude to the table. Other strengths include resource flexibility, uncompromising responsiveness, and access to a wide variety of technical expertise.
""They’re available no matter what time of day it is."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder of a company that connects athletes with coaches for private training.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

We needed to do some development, primarily frontend development but also a little on the backend. We don't have anyone here to code, so we had to partner with an external supplier.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

QBurst basically designed the entire website, including the mock-ups and the final product. We designed the backend in-house, but the whole frontend was done through QBurst. We used their CSS/HTML designers for the page layouts. We also used various technologies, primarily Angular and Java. At most, we had four people from QBurst working with us at once, but it’s typically around two.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

We were really looking for a firm that could offer us great quality at a good cost. I’ve worked with other firms before and a common problem was that resources would get switched out all the time. So, we needed a firm that could commit to keeping whatever resources we were working with.

How much have you invested with QBurst?

When we have two developers, we spend about $5,000/month with them. At the level that we’re getting, it’s about $2,500 per month per resource.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around March 2016 and we’re still working on feature development. Our product just launched; we’re continuing to work with them to do feature enhancements and take it to the next level.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We’re very happy with QBurst. The project took longer than we had anticipated, but that was a combination of some things on their side as well as some things on our side. We experienced feature creep and things like that, but it’s standard stuff. There were a couple of times when I thought the resource was not producing at the level we wanted, but I’d reach out to the Saju or the other leaders and have a very candid discussion with them. I always appreciated that we could always have very candid discussions. If I told them what I was unhappy about, they always did their best to address it. They would add another resource without additional cost to get the project to where it should be. In other situations, they would get mentoring for that resource or whatever was needed. They were always willing to work with us to make sure things got done.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

In terms of project management systems, we’re using Assembla. We tried Asana, but that didn’t work well. They’re familiar with JIRA. Assembla seems to be working really well for us now, but that’s one of the things that’s up to the company to figure out what process they want to have. It’s something that can get out of hand if you don’t manage it.

Another thing I liked is that the project manager understands technology. At the same time, he has a strong command of the English language. He can understand what the issue is, quickly distil what the challenge is to his team, and oversee the solution. He even had input on changing the design layout to make the UI [user interface] easier, suggesting other technologies. He had good input on those types of things.

What did you find most impressive about QBurst?

Everyone on the team is really hardworking. They’re available no matter what time of day it is. If something wasn’t working, they would typically respond within half an hour. I also like that QBurst doesn’t do BS. If you have a concern, you can easily state it. They’ll listen and they’ll exert effort to resolve the issue. Unlike a lot of firms, they realize that the expectations of U.S. companies are particularly high. QBurst recognizes that a certain quality standard that would be okay in India isn’t okay in the U.S. There was no BS; they’ve very straightforward. It’s been a good experience.

Are there any areas QBurst could improve?

I would say that one area for improvement is independent thinking for their developers. I know that’s a tough one because some customers want their resources to just do exactly what they’re told without any input. But that wasn’t our mindset. If we’re doing something that doesn’t make sense, I want the developer to tell us. We’ve been encouraging the developers to feel free to let us know what they’re thinking, but it’s a work in progress.

What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with QBurst?

Just as with every outsourcing project, over-communicating instead of under-communicating is important.

""QBurst has a very talented team ... QBurst scaled up well to our needs and continues to deal with any issues quickly."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Biocom is a trade association for the biotechnology and life sciences industry in San Diego and other parts of California. I am the associate director of operations. I manage the technology for our company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

Our goal was to rebuild our database off a proprietary platform that had been developed by a consultant.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

QBurst has built a website as well as the overall CRM and some event management tools and other applications. We needed to move our platform to Salesforce. This required setting up integration between the 2 databases and ultimately moving all of the data over, keeping it synchronized.

We've continued to use QBurst as our company scaled up and moved to new areas. We've improved our existing systems and built new applications in order to manage newer territories. Everything was developed for the Salesforce platform. QBurst also helped us build a website on Site.com, have developed a number of Apex classes and Visualforce pages, and worked on custom metadata.

We've worked with 5 resources from QBurst's team. We've recently put a project manager in place in order to assist us with the scale up.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

We were searching for a company that would be affordable enough, given that there was a good amount of work to be done. We ultimately decided to outsource the work. I saw that QBurst had a good reputation and had done some app development for the Salesforce platform. I gave them a call, had an initial consultation, and found that QBurst understood the needs of our company.

How much have you invested with QBurst?

The cost of QBurst's services has been around $100,000 in 2016.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with QBurst in 2014 and have an ongoing collaboration. At the moment, we're working with QBurst on tools development as well as a vendor and affiliate portal.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

QBurst has a very talented team. I don't have a baseline in terms of delivery time, but it was definitely reasonable, considering the complexity of our tools and data.

QBurst scaled up well to our needs and continues to deal with any issues quickly. Their team has recently flown to San Diego in order to understand our needs better, which I've appreciated, considering their pricing.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

Whenever we've had fire drill situations, QBurst pulled late hours, making sure that everything was completed. Any issues were taken care of quickly by QBurst. We implemented Agile Accelerator within our Salesforce platform and have used it to manage our development.

What did you find most impressive about QBurst?

QBurst is a very patient team, and they've worked with us in understanding any problems we may have had, offering different solutions.

Are there any areas QBurst could improve?

Sometimes, we've encountered a language barrier with QBurst. It was a problem initially before getting a project manager who was better at breaking things down for our side. Whatever issues QBurst had, they were able to overcome.

What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with QBurst?

Although QBurst has fantastic developers, clients still need someone on their side with a technical understanding of how development works. This has been helpful for us and allowed us to keep things on pace, understanding critical issues which came up.

We've only been live for a few weeks, but we already have 35 to 40 users. We've also hosted our first experience. We received good feedback from it. Everything is functioning well, and it seems that our initial customers like the experience. We have some upcoming events in September.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a set game plan from day 1. If a resource from QBurst wanted to leave, they'd let us know. We were always on the same page. We communicated changes and bugs throughout the development process. Through testing, we found some miscellaneous bugs or malfunctions within the site. Our project manager and the QBurst team were very engaged with our needs and wants. The main issue was that we were working out of different time zones. That made it difficult to communicate. We could reach QBurst through email or Google chat, but it still was difficult. QBurst was working when we were sleeping, so it was hard to find a common schedule. We worked around this, and we were able to get our initial product launched. We were able to clearly get our points across, so it worked out. We continue to work with QBurst, so it was an overall good experience.

What did you find most impressive about QBurst?

QBurst is extremely cooperative and persistent.

"“They have quality resources who understand the software development process as well as the technology itself.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

We provide a mobile and web application to homebuilders in order to help them manage their customer experience during the home buying process. Our platform helps communicate construction progress, home contents and so on.

What is your position?

I am a cofounder.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

We needed resources for building our mobile application.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement.

QBurst build our app for both iOS and Android. The iOS version was built first, after which we started on the Android one. They were involved in scoping out technical requirements for the project as well.

The app we've built is data-heavy. They also support onboarding data and adding new builders from a technology standpoint.

The ability for the app to display home contents and details about what is installed at a location is one of its key features. The information if retrieved from both a relational and a nonrelational database. It is a technically complex functionality, allowing us to gather a vast amount of data into a mobile device. We can also take photos of locations using it.

The app was built within a custom environment. We haven't integrated third-party elements into it like Kendo UI or social login functionalities. We've built a self-contained application and environment. Much of the information that is created by the builder is exposed into the mobile environment for the benefit of the homeowner.

Our team consisted of eight people, including a project manager, three or four iOS and Android developers, a UX [user experience] designer, back-end server developers, business analyst, and quality assurance resources.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

We found them through a reference from a previous client.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The total development cost has been $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The initial project duration was set for six months. Due to issues on our side, the development was drawn out a bit more. We continue to work with QBurst on updates and changes for the app.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Overall, our application has been adopted and used well. We've won an award for it from the International Builders' Show for best home technology product. This definitely provides a sense of its quality.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

For the most part, they were able to deliver their work within time and budget. If anything was ever missed, it would likely have been due to errors in scope on our side. Some of the key things that QBurst do well are project management and understanding of the agile life cycle. They try to make sure that all requirements are well understood from a project management standpoint and that the scope is defined.

We used JIRA and Confluence for project tracking. The tools were used based on our request.

What distinguishes QBurst from other providers?

They have quality resources who understand the software development process as well as the technology itself. QBurst didn't simply put some coders or hackers on our team. They made sure that our assigned team members understood the business practice and why we do the things we do.

Is there anything QBurst could have improved or done differently?

They could work on improving status updates. From a project management standpoint, QBurst did a good job of wrangling in our scope for what was going to be delivered. The only area of improvement is their communication around the progress being made and bringing up issues earlier in the sprint cycle. This didn't always occur, though.

Any client looking for a similar provider should define the scope of the work being done clearly, down to specific items. This is something that will ensure the clarity of whatever needs to be completed, not leaving room for interpretation. Also, a focus on prototyping by making a mockup of the application before coding it is important.

**Feedback Summary**: Qburst's work has directly improved user flow, data tracking, and internal administrative reporting. The team communicated regularly via Skype, email, and phone. They were reliable, met all significant deadlines, delivered work with zero major defects.
""QBurst is a trusted resource in a sea of other companies with which we’d be very skeptical hiring.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

Our company is an operator of drone aircraft for commercial customers.

What is your position?

I am the managing director.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

They have been a trusted resource for our company for some time. Any time we have an in-depth or complex project to develop, they are the first group that we contact.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement.

When we began, our project was in its initial discovery phase. QBurst worked with us in drafting our requirements and making sure there weren’t any oversights. The development itself was sourced to a different freelancer because of unrelated concerns.

One of our previous projects consisted of an end-to-end build of a web application that worked as a search portal for aircraft parts through which buyers and sellers could make exchanges. The solution was built using MongoDB and Django, based on QBurst’s recommendations. They were also involved in visual design for the application’s UI [user interface].

How did you come to work with QBurst?

We’d used them in the past and had a level of trust in their company. We simply contacted them, got an estimate, and began our work.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The total cost of our development work has been between $30,000 and $45,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our last project was completed in November 2015. We’re currently [March 2016] in an interim period, but we plan to start new projects with QBurst within the next six months.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Their work has helped us improve our user flow and general tracking of user data as well as internal administrative reporting.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

Our communication was primarily done through Skype, email, and phone. QBurst never missed any major deadlines and their work has not had major defects.

What distinguishes QBurst from other providers?

I find them to be reliable. QBurst is a trusted resource in a sea of other companies with which we’d be very skeptical hiring.

Is there anything QBurst could have improved or done differently?

There were certain key requirements that were missed by QBurst during our development. We had to rehash those items, which ended up costing us a few thousand dollars. This was significant for us as a small business.

**The Review** — Dec 14, 2015

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst is fully capable of accomplishing complex tasks and delivering high quality results for a competitive price. The team is knowledgeable and offers creative ideas and solutions for problems. They are responsive, communicate clearly and concisely, and post weekly status updates.
"“We haven’t given them anything that they haven’t been able to complete.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

My company remanufactures parts and components for major mining trucks, mining equipment, and off-highway construction equipment; anything related to the mining industry. These are the parts and components for the bigger-than-your-house trucks.

What is your position?

I'm a CRM analyst. I manage Salesforce and the integration of our different subsidiaries. We purchase companies throughout the globe. When we acquire companies, my job is to integrate their existing CRM solutions into our own Salesforce system.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

We were looking for an inexpensive alternative for getting custom development done. We always have a lot of custom development, integration and configuration work, but we don’t have the resources to do it all in a timely fashion.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement.

Our most recent project with them is integrating custom Visualforce into the quoting platform of one of our subsidiaries. It has to be done in Spanish.

Some other complex work was calculating market shares and estimating growth potentials using various data rules, where existing trucks and the prices per component are queried, stored, and used to obtain a result. We can go into an account, and are shown how much it's worth, based on the number of equipment pieces there are. If a piece of equipment is out of commission, it will automatically be factored in.

We usually work with only one developer, which is assigned by the project manager, based on the complexity of the requirements that we provide.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

We searched the internet for different Salesforce vendors. They came with high prices for the amount of work they were doing. We didn't see the reasoning for paying hundreds of dollars an hour for work that could be done by someone with basic programming knowledge. I can't remember how I came across QBurst, but I'm thankful that I did.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working with them since early 2014.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

The feedback from all our subsidiaries has been entirely positive. Our Australian company has used them a couple of times for complex development work and are very pleased.

One of the projects for market share and potential was well received by the executive team. They've used some of the data for board meetings with stakeholders. At the end of the day, we haven’t given them anything that they haven’t been able to complete. They’re very reliable.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

They always delivered within budget, and mostly on time. They've been a little late sometimes. We're working on a project that we're trying to finish by the end of the month, but there were some unforeseen circumstances (flooding in their area), so there's been no one in the office. Typically, they're close to being on time. I do set my deadlines a bit early, just to offset hiccups like this.

We use email for tracking issues. They're very responsive, so I never have to sift through conversations. They give me weekly status reports and post stats on the website about their advancement, like how many hours have been spent, etc.

What distinguishes QBurst from other providers?

The main thing that distinguishes them is their pricing. You get a lot of value our of QBurst for what you pay. I've used other companies prior to QBurst, but I still continue to use them. I'm very pleased with their work. They have knowledgeable teams; sometimes I can go to them with a problem, and they'll give some ideas, and come up with solutions. We have good back-and-forth dialogue trying to come up with a solution. I've only used three different developers and found them to be pretty much the same, except for pricing.

Is there anything QBurst could have improved or done differently?

Speeding up their delivery time would be good. They do regularly communicate where they are within a given project, so I'm happy with them. On our latest project, they did send an email to inform me there's a natural disaster, and when I conveyed to them that something must be done by a certain date, they'll work it into their schedule. They always seem to find a way.

"“They're definitely hard workers and will push to get the project done.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

We focus on consulting work and SalesForce services.

What is your position?

I'm the project manager.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

I was looking for the right API [application programming interface] for connecting SalesForce to a custom payment processor. I reached out on SalesForce forums and QBurst replied. They were the best organized and priced and spoke the best English. That won the vote for me. I've used QBurst for development work on some of my own projects.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement.

All their work has been SalesForce-related, either Apex or Visualforce. We've mostly worked on forms, websites, payment processors, and custom pages, depending on what the customer wants. They've built an extensive e-commerce site using SalesForce. We haven't hit any roadblocks, in terms of what we can't create. Pretty much anything the client asks for, we've been able to do.

We've used three or four developers from them. We originally started with two people, one of whom I've worked with for about a year. He will bring in other people, depending on the need of the environment. I interact with them directly and take on the project management role on my side. I meet with clients, assess their requirements, and QBurst will do all the code. I'm a SalesForce developer myself, so I review some of it.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

There's a forum on Salesforce.com. I posted a job there and ended up receiving 30 to 40 applications. They were one of them. They had the best English and the best presentation. The price was also low. I met them in San Francisco a few months later in order to continue our relationship and build on it from there. I exposed them to my personal clients, and they do work for them as well.

At first, I wanted to find an offshore team to handle my own specific requirements, so I wouldn't mess something up with a client. I pushed them and gave them some very hard requirements that no client would come up with.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

We've probably spent $1,000 to 5,000 per month for the last year and a half [beginning in 2014].

What is the status of this engagement?

The relationship is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

I don't have any specific metrics. They have an extremely quick turnaround time. All of my clients have noticed that. As we're in the United States, QBurst will work while we're asleep. We usually wake up and see our work done.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

They're upfront with relaying where issues might show up. I talk with the developers every night on Skype, so I'm more or less the project manager. If things aren't met on their timeline, it's going to fall on me. There've been nights in which they stayed up for extended periods. They're definitely hard workers and will push to get the project done.

I created my own project management tools using SalesForce. We track all our projects using those. They use Google Docs internally, but also translate much of that into my system.

What distinguishes QBurst from other providers?

I haven't worked with many offshore teams. I can tell you that I do feel extremely lucky. I haven't had to look for another offshore provider. In any relationship, you will come across problems, but they've definitely resolved all of them, and they're looking out for my best interests. I never felt that they've done something bad intentionally.

I want to expand my business with them. The price of the development hours is very cheap, only $20 to $30 per hour. I found a few cheaper companies, but I'm skeptical about the quality they'd offer. Also, Rajiv, who runs the Salesforce team there, will address any issue that I may have. It's good communication all around.

Is there anything QBurst could have improved or done differently?

It goes back to project management, so I wouldn't put that entirely on them. We both have acknowledged that we need to build more collaboration between the clients and them without exposing who they are. I don't want my clients knowing that I outsource their work.

Tidying up requirements and more source control on code is something I would work on. I have put some suggestions out there, but we haven't put anything in place yet. Overall, it's been a great relationship, and they've helped me out a lot. I don't have anything explicitly negative to say.

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst is responsible for an extensive portfolio of custom websites, all of which receive 24/7 support. The team is a multi-faceted tech firm that can be trusted to manage all development projects. Their in-depth understanding of American culture and business practices streamlines communication.
""The overnight support and the amount of manpower they provide is fantastic.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

We are a multi-faceted, multi-family land development, land acquisition, construction, and development company based in the Washington, D.C./Baltimore metro region.

What is your position and responsibilities?

I am a director. My department is the marketing technology department that oversees the web and digital implementation of our various platform across 200 remote properties from Boston down to Washington, D.C., and as far west as Denver.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with QBurst?

We've retained QBurst for an ongoing list of services. Most of their work is very technical in nature. We rely heavily on their technical expertise to support our own efforts, and we gain efficiencies because going offshore is much more affordable than hiring full-time developers here in the United States.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement in more detail.

We work with them closely on all of our web development platforms. We've created a Bizzudo standard web platform where we have all of our new development deals and all of our new business deals. They all require separate and custom website development, so they do all of the HTML coding. We also use them as our primary server administrators for all of our server banks. We have about 12 different servers, and some of them are AWS [Amazon Web Services] clouds, some of them are independent freestanding server banks. They also manage our intranet portal.

They are a very multi-faceted tech firm. We even ended up using them in some of our video editing projects. We contract with them on a yearly basis, but we tend to sub-contract a lot of other work to them. The quality of their work is great, and we couldn't find a better and more affordable provider here in the U.S., hands down. I've worked with overseas companies before my time here, and they are, by far, the most reliable and most consistent offshore provider that I've worked with.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

Essentially, there are several companies that we brought in to provide these solutions for us. We released an RFP [request for proposal], and they came in and proposed their services, one of which I will admit was a recommendation from someone who has used their services before. They provided their pricing structure and a lot of their past work. We immediately felt a good connection there on a working relationship and their willingness to be flexible with our unique industry and standards.

They have grown tremendously with us, so every project we have initiated with them they have taken it on and kept a very uniform process with us. The process to select them was an evaluation of three different providers, one of which was an onshore company. I would call QBurst a nearshore provider. They have offices in the U.S., but they do all of their development work offshore. Another provider was a completely offshore company. In evaluating all of those, QBurst was by far the front runner.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

If you're including our website, we've invested easily half a million dollars at this point.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our relationship is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Aside from giving you my approval on them, we have a huge portfolio of custom websites that they've developed for us. All of the sites that are hosted on our server and managed by QBurst, and all of the sites that are developed by QBurst, have a 24/7 support center. Anytime we have an issue with a property that is on our servers that is supported by QBurst, the response is within five minutes in terms of email response.

Depending on the severity of the issue, the resolution is determined to be within the hour. If it requires development, they will then contact an emergency developer depending on the time of day. The response time and the ability to repair issues are exponentially quicker and more efficient, for my team, than any of our other properties that are not hosted on our servers.

We do use Basecamp in some aspects with them, but most of our stuff occurs via online, email, or a specialized automated system. Any of the requests we provide are submitted through this system, and it goes to them, and they immediately respond.

How did QBurst perform from a project management standpoint?

To my knowledge, anything that was missed or an issue, was a result of a coordinated misstep or we did not provide the right information or guidance, but it was based on an equal share of fault. There have been things that have gone awry, but not because they dropped the ball, missed an email, or didn't respond. It's usually been because we didn't provide them with what they were asking for.

What distinguishes QBurst from other providers?

For an offshore company, QBurst's fluidness and understanding of American culture and business practices, even our colloquial terms in conversation, has made it extremely easy to work with them. I haven't had that experience with a lot of other outsourced companies that I've worked with in the past.

Is there anything QBurst could have improved or done differently?

I don't have anything negative to say about them. They're kind of a godsend. They have been crucial to me being able to get my job done here at this company. If it wasn't for their support, I wouldn't have the efficiencies that I have. The overnight support and the amount of manpower they provide is fantastic, so I really can't say anything negative about them.

**Feedback Summary**: The app received positive user feedback for its visual design and layout. It works exactly as intended and bugs are rare. QBurst delivers top-notch work, is consistently committed to deadlines and cost estimates, and remains a reliable partner.
"“QBurst seems to be rather unique when it comes to resource availability and responsiveness.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

My company is an educational development consultancy. I help mostly public learning institutions design and develop more compelling and effective academic curricula.

What is your position?

I'm the founder.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenges were you trying to address with QBurst?

When I was first considering hiring a developer, it was for our mobile app. I'm not a technologist by trade, so I couldn't build out the solution, but I had the concepts and the designs prepared already. The app was to be developed for iOS, Android and Windows devices. Timing and cost were both a factor. The idea was to work closely with a developer until we got a minimum viable product ready to test with end-users. We could then work incrementally to improve the app features, layout and design.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

Once I hired QBurst, I handed over all of the design schematics and visual materials. We worked together to really flesh out the specifications and make sure everything was understood before they started with the development. I don't actually know the size or composition of the development team assigned to my project because I only interacted with their project lead. They were ultimately responsible for the back-end development, testing, configuration, and implementing the interface design based on the materials I gave them.

How did you come to work with QBurst?

I first came across them while doing some online searches with Google. I had considered some high-end American development shops beforehand, but the majority of them were just too expensive for me, but at the same time, I needed to make sure that whomever I went with had the necessary expertise. QBurst was one of several offshore providers I reached out to, which led to Skype call and a demo of their previous work. I went through the same process with the few other providers under consideration, but with their capabilities on balance, it seemed to me that QBurst would be the best fit.

Could you provide a general cost estimate for this engagement?

In total, I've invested around $20,000.

What is the status of this project?

The mobile apps are now live, but we're still improving it on an ongoing basis. They've also worked with me on a web-based project wherein they're developing a course assessment platform using HTML5 and AngularJS. That's also ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics, metrics, or user feedback from these engagements?

I don't have any real metrics to share. My own end-customers and their users have conveyed mostly positive feedback. Most of the compliments are related to the visual design and layout of the mobile apps rather than the specific features, but the apps work exactly as they should, and I rarely receive reports of defects. I'm also very pleased with their work. It's always completed on time and within budget. Perhaps more importantly, they've been great at providing me with accurate time and cost estimates. They're great at managing expectations.

Is there anything unique or special about their practice that distinguishes them from others?

They're real flexible with their clients and QBurst seems to be rather unique when it comes to resource availability and responsiveness. Most of my emails and calls are returned within an hour or two, and all of them within 24 hours. They're great at keeping me updated as to their progress, and they aren't afraid to ask questions when they aren't sure about something.

Based on your experience, are there any areas in which they could improve as a service provider?

Not that I can think of. It's been an entirely positive experience.

What advice, if any, would you give to a future client of theirs?

The two biggest things are having your requirements really honed and being open to asking questions. Definitely give them a chance to offer insight and recommendations. There will be times when they suggest a more efficient or effective solution to the challenge, and you want to take advantage of that.

Please describe the scope of their involvement.

It’s been custom development. We’ve worked together on custom iOS development, Ruby on Rails, and Android application development. We carve out a project, we provide the technical requirements, and then have them build out the solution. QBurst provides the developers and testers. They also do their project management in-house, so that works nicely.

How did you choose QBurst as your partner?

They actually approached us. A lot of companies approach us for outsourcing our work, I’m getting almost one or two requests every day. That request came at the right time, so I followed up on it and it worked out. I was talking to multiple candidates. I didn’t have a particular location in mind. I was open to finding anybody who could do the work and do it well. They had the expertise, and their rates were very reasonable.

Could you provide a general cost estimate for this engagement?

The project was between $50,000 and $70,000.

Does this engagement remain ongoing?

Very much so, we still use them for ad hoc improvement and maintenance-type issues.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
In terms of results, could you share any statistics or metrics that would demonstrate the quality of their performance?

They did terrific work, and we got very positive feedback from our clients and end users. The system is robust, and the user interfaces are developed extremely well. The solutions are very user friendly. It was a pretty complex and challenging application that we had them build. It had a number of things that we had to integrate with, so it was not an easy application to develop.

When working with QBurst, is there anything that you’d consider unique about their approach that distinguishes them from other vendors?

I haven’t really worked with a lot of other offshore developers to be able to make an educated comparison, but I really like working with them. They’re a good, competent group of people, and I enjoy the working relationship. They’re very good from a project management perspective, too.

In retrospect, are there any areas in which you think they could improve as a service provider?

Not really. I think they’re a good resource for us and we plan to continue using them.

**The Review** — Dec 1, 2014

**Feedback Summary**: The app was selected by Apple as the best new app for medical professionals in March 2014 and has now been featured in more than 50 countries. QBurst delivers excellent communication and demonstrates a keen ability to adapt to pre-existing workflows and project management systems.
"“Client satisfaction is clearly a priority for them.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Could you briefly describe your organization?

We offer a medical research platform on Web and mobile. We provide physicians and other medical professionals with access to medical research content.

What is your position?

I’m one of the co-founders.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
Could you describe the business challenges that you were attempting to address when you first approached QBurst?

We started as a Web platform, and we had a beta version of the app. We were looking to launch a full-fledged app that we could then continue to add enhanced features to. We needed programmers for an iOS and Android app.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement.

They were involved mostly in the functional development. We provided all of the design collateral, and other technical specs. They performed the custom coding and helped us deploy the apps once they were fully functional and tested.

How did you choose QBurst as your partner?

A friend of ours recommended QBurst to us.

Could you provide a general cost estimate for this engagement?

[It was] $3,000 to $5,000 a month. They were very flexible in terms of ramping up and down. Some months we’d double that, and some months we’d cut that in half, depending on what our needs were.

When was the project completed?

We’ve been working with them for one and a half or two years. It’s an ongoing relationship.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
In terms of results, could you share any statistics, metrics, or user feedback that would demonstrate the quality of their overall performance?

Our iPhone app was selected by Apple, in March of 2014, as best new app for medical professionals and featured in the medical section of the iTunes store. It has now been featured in more than 50 countries. They’ve adopted our project management system, which is great because we didn’t have to change our workflows; they adapted to our needs and us. They respond usually within 24 hours. They’ve been great.

When working with QBurst, is there anything that you’d consider unique about their approach that distinguishes them from other vendors?

I think they really adapt to what the client needs. We manage the project directly, and they have developers that work under our supervision. We also have the ability to have a project manager and quality assurance person on their side, if we wanted. We’ve used that a little bit in the past, but mostly we’ve done the testing, the quality assurance, and the management. They’re flexible, and we were able to add a developer or cut a developer’s time in half on relatively short notice, depending on the needs of the project.

In retrospect, are there any areas in which you think they might be able to improve as a service provider?

I think it’s worked out well for us. I can’t make any recommendations for improvement based on our experience with them. Assuming they operate this way with their other clients, I’d venture to say they have a fantastic team there. Client satisfaction is clearly a priority for them.

**The Review** — Sep 4, 2014

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst is reliable in delivering quality solutions. The team facilitates smooth deployments and quickly fixes occassional errors, with no significant incidents since 2009. They offer extensive technical expertise and a unique ability to translate technical questions into simple solutions.
"“[QBurst] makes it a point to ensure quality project management.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Could you briefly describe your organization?

I run an interactive marketing company. We manage marketing technology solutions on behalf of our clients.

You’re the owner and founder, correct?

Yes, that’s right.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
Could you describe the business challenges you were attempting to address when you first approached QBurst?

At the time, this was late 2000, a lot of the client work we were receiving for marketing was becoming very technical; a lot of it involved email marketing, Web design, and blogging. At the time when these requests would come in for clients, it was getting to the point where it was getting so technical that we had to turn work away. It was beginning to hurt the business, so we began to think of ways to tap into the resources we needed.

I wasn’t able to fulfill the technology requirements. It got to the point where I got tired of referring the work away, so I started searching for a technology partner that I could collaborate very closely with us on these more technical projects. After some research, I learned of QBurst and we started on a tiny project. Five years later, we’re still together, tackling all kinds of marketing technology projects.

**SOLUTION**
Could you describe the scope of work in greater detail?

Most of their work has primarily been in custom Web development, which has since evolved into mobile application development. They deal with all of the custom coding, testing, and deployment. We take care of creative and strategy. Together, we’re able to offer an integrated and holistic solution to our clients.

How did you select QBurst as your solution partner?

It began with some basic research, but they were the first ones we reached out to and since we were impressed by their proposal, there wasn’t any reason to continue on with the search.

Could you provide a general cost estimate for this project?

The projects vary. We’ve had some between $5,000 and $20,000. But, we’ve also had some that range well more than $40,000.

When was this project completed?

The relationship remains ongoing, but the most recent project was launched in February [of 2014].

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
In terms of results, could you share any statistics, metrics, or user feedback that would demonstrate the effectiveness of their work?

The overall results have been that our clients are delighted. They’ve been very happy with all of the solutions that we’ve delivered thus far. There hasn’t been a perfect project because there’s no such thing, but the deployments have been relatively smooth. We haven’t experienced an incident since 2009, and even then, the communications issues were resolved rapidly. They make it a point to ensure quality project management.

When working with QBurst, is there anything you’d consider unique about their approach and/or development methodology that distinguish them from other vendors?

In my experience, they’re just very technically seasoned. I can ask any question and if they don’t know it, they have someone on the team that can come back and deliver a layman's explanation. We’ve always been impressed with the expertise available to their developers.

In retrospect, are there areas in which you think they could improve as a service provider?

If I had to pick one thing, it would be quality of their interface designs. They’re technologists at heart, so you’re not going to have fancy or extravagant designs, but they’ve improved that over the years. They’re great with design instructions. In other words, if you give them the guidance they can definitely deliver. But what you can’t do is go to them with an idea and something more subjective and have them build something out from scratch. They know where their strengths are, and it’s very clearly in the technical areas.

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst regularly delivered work ahead of schedule. The team tested development output before delivery, resulting in very few user-facing defects, and the app’s design and functionality have received positive feedback. They also provided simple, organized, and streamlined project management.
""They're great at incorporating their client's feedback into the development cycle.""

**BACKGROUND**
Could you provide a brief description of your organization?

Our company creates apps for technical interests. Our apps cater to the business-to-business marketplace.

What is your position?

I'm the owner and founder.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
Could you describe the business challenges that you were attempting to address when you first approached QBurst?

This was a technical application for both iOS and Android platforms. Even though we do have some technical expertise, we didn't feel comfortable with the idea of deploying our app on our own within the timeframe we wanted. For that reason, we wanted to find a development partner that could develop the app for us under our direct supervision. Because timing and budget were key constraints for us, we knew we wanted to approach an offshore vendor.

**SOLUTION**
Could you describe the scope of work delivered during the course of this engagement?

Yes. They provided project management resources, custom software development, data preparation and migration, user testing and quality assurance, and ongoing support. We collaborated closely with them throughout the entire deployment.

How did you select QBurst as your solution partner?

We posted our project description on Elance.com and QBurst was one of a few offshore vendors that responded with a proposal. We followed up with them directly and had them show us some of their previous work for both iOS and Android. We were impressed with what they'd done and it was made clear to us that they had some considerable development resources, which was a nice reassurance because we knew that if we were successful, it was going to be likely that we'd have increased development needs. So, scalability was also a big factor for us. We felt that QBurst could offer us the best service for the most reasonable price. That's ultimately why we ended up choosing them.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
In terms of results, could you share any statistics, metrics, or user feedback you've received that would demonstrate the effectiveness of their work?

I don't know if I can share quantitative figures with you, but they've delivered work ahead of schedule on a regular basis. Their development output comes to us already tested, which means we have very few user-facing defects. The feedback we've received has been generally positive. We've heard positive remarks about both the layout of the app and its actual functionality. We've been very satisfied with the results.

When working with QBurst, is there anything you'd consider unique about their approach or development methodology that distinguishes them from other vendors?

The first thing is that there's no element of surprise with them. Everything is well managed and their approach is very simple. It's not very bureaucratic. You don't have to go through a lot of approval processes. They're great at incorporating their client's feedback into the development cycle. We feel like they really listen and understand our desires and do their best to align their work with those things.

In retrospect, are there areas in which you think they could improve as a service provider?

I think cost is always an area for improvement, but I don't think they're unreasonable in terms of service. They definitely weren't the cheapest option for us, but given the level of service, I can't say it wasn't worth it.

**Feedback Summary**: The prototype is still in the deployment strategy phase and has not yet been released but already has very few bugs or errors. QBurst consistently delivers high quality code and is vigilant about preventing technical difficulties. They continue to ensure that there are no issues with functionality.
"“It's clear to us that they've got some serious technical talent over there.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Could you provide a brief description of your organization?

First of all, we're a very small company. We're about five people, with some additional contractors. We focus on delivering IT [information technology]-related services, such as e-commerce, development, and design expertise, to commercial clients.

What is your position?

I'm the owner and founder.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
Could you describe the business challenges you were attempting to address when you first approached QBurst?

At the time, we were looking for a vendor to develop a custom Web application for us. We had the conceptual design, but we needed programmers to build a functioning model. We didn't have the resources in house, and we wanted to minimize the total amount of resources we had to invest in this first build.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select QBurst as your solution partner for this endeavor?

We'd already been introduced to them through some sort of local event. Their local development team was present at the same event. When we first began planning our project, and we decided we wanted to find a partner, QBurst naturally came up in our discussion. We sent a description of our project to a handful of local vendors, including QBurst. We were ultimately most impressed by their proposal, so we invited them to present some of their relevant work. They showed us a few of their past projects that incorporated similar requirements to ours, which made us feel very comfortable in their capabilities. That's how they won the work.

Could you describe the scope of work they've delivered to you during the course of this project?

As I'd mentioned, we really only needed them for the functional development of the Web app. We had the design and framework prepared when we first went to them. We needed them for their coding capabilities. They performed all of the custom development using HTML5 and handled all of the quality assurance testing. They continue to offer support to us.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

In U.S. dollars, I think we probably spent between $60,000 and $70,000 for the development.

When was this project completed?

It must have been near the end of April, perhaps the beginning of May [of 2014].

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
In terms of results, could you share any statistics, metrics, or user feedback that would demonstrate the effectiveness of their work?

I actually can't share any figures with you because we haven't released the functional version to users quite yet. We're still in the process of devising and rolling out our deployment strategy, and we needed some extra time to consider how we're going to market it to new users. I can tell you that in terms of performance, their team delivers high-quality code on a consistent basis. We've been very impressed by the diligence of their developers. We've rarely found bugs or errors in their code. Because of their vigilance, we don't really anticipate running into any technical difficulties when we do end up releasing it to users.

When working with QBurst, is there anything you'd consider unique about their strategic approach or development methodology that distinguish them from other vendors?

Like I said before, it'd have to be the quality of their code. We've been working on the project for some time now, and we've never run into issues with functionality. It's clear to us that they've got some serious technical talent over there. At the end of the day, since we hired them exclusively for their coding abilities, I can't say that we've been disappointed.

In retrospect, are there areas in which you think QBurst could improve as a service provider?

To be entirely honest, my only recommendation for them would be to invest in their UI/UX [user interface/user experience] expertise. We were responsible for dealing with user testing and ensuring the interface was usable and accessible. It'd have been great if they could have also taken responsibility for that, even if just to review the work we'd done. That's the only area that I saw could really use some improvement.

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst provids robust support throughout the development process, participating in strategy, vision, coding, specs, and design work. Overall, the team produces exemplary results. Although they could take more creative risks, their project management and development skills are excellent.
""They did exactly what I asked, and they moved the project along without a lot of management.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company.

We are a startup that is doing an e-commerce app in the hospitality space.

What is your role and responsibilities, please?

I am the founder.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What was your goal for working with QBurst?

We used them as our CTO and team partner.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their work.

They’ve been our partner from everything from the strategy to the vision behind the product. They do everything from wireframes and specs to the coding. They did design work as well. We’ve spoken with them about doing some business intelligence work once we get launched, which they also do.

What was your process for selecting QBurst with which to work?

I looked at some of their top developers and spoke with a handful of them. I knew some people who had previously worked in the industry. I also spoke to some people who hired them to develop sites in the past that were actually live.

Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?

The total cost is around $500,000.

Is the work ongoing or completed?

The work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Do you have any statistics or metrics to track improvement from the project?

We had a budget, and the projects have all changed as we move along. It wasn't like I handed them a spec and asked them to build it. It was an iterative process. From that standpoint, we were quite a bit higher than what the project was originally quoted, but a lot of that was from us evolving the vision of the project. It wasn’t on them.

Are you satisfied with their work?

Yes. The work has been very good. They did exactly what I asked, and they moved the project along without a lot of management oversight from me. Their senior people are good about keeping projects moving forward.

Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?

They can put a lot of resources on a project quickly, which is nice. I haven’t done a lot of other projects and don’t have a lot of data points to compare them to.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

If they could improve on anything, it would be on the creative design side. They are very good at executing things the way the majority of websites have been done, but they could also take some risks.

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst had extensive knowledge in multiple technological areas required by the client. They completed the project in six months, on schedule and within budget.
"“We appreciate the knowledge and experience of the team members from QBurst.”"

**BACKGROUND**
My company was established in 1989. The company operates in the IT [information technology] industry. It employs about 50 people in the Head Office in Białystok, Poland, and in Warsaw. The main markets are small- and medium-sized enterprises. The main products include the ERP [enterprise resource planning] system and mobile solution SFA [sales force automation]. I am a member of the board responsible for R&D [research and development] and finance.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
The aim of the project was to investigate the key elements of the technology necessary to implement the ERP system expansion of a mobile solution using the iPhone/iPad. The results of the research were to allow the preparation of assumptions about the architecture of the new solution, which was to provide mobile access to the ERP system using the iPhone/iPad. Mobile access to the ERP increased system availability for current users, and its attractiveness to potential new customers.

**SOLUTION**
Used software and technologies include Objective-C, Web API, SOAP Web Service, WSDL, UDDI, RESTful Web Service, XML, JSON, JDBC, SQLite.

The criteria for selecting a service provider were having a solid team with experience in the use of the aforementioned commercial projects technology. During the project, the contractor was responsible for the execution of the overall research and collaboration with client staff responsible for the execution of work on the ERP. The project lasted six months.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
They successfully examined the key technological elements necessary to implement the ERP system expansion of a mobile solution using the iPhone/iPad. The service provider provided the scope of work performed in accordance with the agreed schedule and a fixed budget. We appreciate the knowledge and experience of the team members from QBurst.

**The Review** — Jul 16, 2013

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst quickly integrated the structure of key customers and strategy into the system on short notice, programming the entire system in two weeks. The team was diligent in meeting deadlines and contracted timelines, often working on weekends and after hours if necessary.
""They do whatever is necessary in order to complete the task on time and meet the expectations of their clients.""

**BACKGROUND**
Could you provide some background information on what your company does?

I represent a freight forwarding company. We arrange international transport for our customers. Others and myself are located in Poland, but our mother company and sister companies are located in other European countries.

What is your position in the company?

I’m the general manager for the Polish division.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with Blue Fountain Media?
We purchased the Salesforce platform for our company quite some time ago. We had an external company implement it for us. From that point forward, the software was not really maintained by anyone in terms of administration. There was of course general, daily administration, but there was no formal guidance towards development, or increased functionality.
Later, I was appointed to the Eurogate Group of Companies to maintain it and to begin the much needed development work. I began conducting research on potential development partners. I ended up receiving a shortlist of potential companies from a Salesforce representative. The list included Qburst Technologies and a few others. After a brief discussion with them regarding our requirements and goals, they submitted their proposal, which I reviewed and accepted.

**SOLUTION**
Could you describe the scope of the project? What components were involved, such as design, development, and support?

We worked much of the time remotely using GoToMeeting, so we didn't need to meet in person. I’m working with the Qburst team in India. They are there whenever I need them. Collaboration begins with email and then we connect remotely so we can talk face-to-face.

As for the scope, the software was designed and implemented by someone who didn’t really know the company or the employees in great detail. It ended up being a very blunt instrument for us. After some time, we had an excess of data that wasn’t validated. At that point, our employees began to dismiss the platform and usage began to plummet. This only added to our inefficiency and it really meant we had wasted a lot of resources on a system that ended up being entirely neglected.

Qburst worked with me to identify those bottlenecks and we were able to validate all of our data. We also added some forced functionality to the platform so data wouldn’t fall through the cracks or end up unused.

We are using basic functionality because we have the professional version only. We are not ready yet to upgrade to the advanced versions. We are using the system to first record all of the information on Eurogate companies and second to distribute access the entire organization. We are also using the system to handle leads registration, accounts registration within accounts for prospect customers, customers, suppliers, non-operational suppliers, and contact staff.

We have two or three sections similar to tabs where we have customized items, but this had been done in the past.

Could you provide a sense of the size of the initiative either in monetary terms or in personnel dedicated to the project?

I was really the only representative from Eurogate, and Qburst dedicated one developer. This allowed us to minimize the budget requirements. It was much cheaper than working with Polish consultants who are usually five times more expensive than their Indian counterparts.

Has the project been completed, or is it still ongoing?

The first two projects have been completed in terms of objectives met, but they still provide ongoing support for malfunctions and other related issues. In this sense, we request their assistance with a problem we are having. They provide a solution or fix, and once it is complete and we approve the outcome, they charge us. We are now in the process of agreeing on a third project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
How would you evaluate QBurst in terms of performance?

My experience with them has been very positive. It’s not the same experience as working closely with developers on-site. In terms of effective cooperation, the partnership has been quite positive. I’m actually surprised that I managed to do this.

When we finished the first phase of the project, I had a presentation for our management team. This was something new for us because in the last few years, no one was handling the development of the system. Suddenly, someone proposed that we handle the structure of key customers and strategy in the system.

I know that from the technology point of view, this is very simple. They finished in two weeks; they programmed the entire thing. It was not so simple for me because I lack professional training with Salesforce.

Is there anything you would consider special about Qburst compared to other development firms you’ve worked with in the past?

For one thing, I’m certain they’re working diligently after 4:00pm during a normal workday. Typically, in Europe, this is not the case. If you sign an agreement with Qburst for one or two weeks of work, they will be working on Saturdays and Sundays if they have to. They do whatever is necessary in order to complete the task on time and meet the expectations of their clients.

**The Review** — Jun 24, 2013

**Feedback Summary**: QBurst invested effort beyond typical requirements to repair the product. The team is technically competent, polite, and pleasant to work with. They excel at detailed process documentation, progress reports and updates, and proactive communication and do not hesitate to ask for clarification.
"“They’ve extended their creativity on a technical level to meet the requirements.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Could you please provide a brief description of what your company does?

We’re creating a distance consumer network. We’re thinking of something akin to LinkedIn, except we don’t combine all users in the same pot. We’re trying to balance supply and demand of people providing services and people demanding them. The point of difference is we’re a transactional network not just a relational one.

I came to QBurst after having a very bad experience with a Salesforce consultant, probably at this stage subject to a legal case. We’ve lost $80,000 because of it. I approached Salesforce to do something about this. They acknowledged there were a lot of problems, but they weren’t able to step in because they said the provider in question was not a Salesforce partner.

I find the QBurst team extremely helpful. In my opinion, they’re technically competent and pleasant to deal with. They’re polite in the way they go about in their work and, in that sense, they’ve been very pleasant to deal with. It’s been a big relief to me because with the previous provider, I can tell you, during a period of five months, it was a very stressful experience.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
Could you explain the process by which you selected QBurst to work with?

When the things fell through with the other provider, I was looking around for someone to help salvage it, of course. I picked QBurst and another company to audit the partial work. QBurst reviewed the delivered work, and submitted a report on the functional details. They supported all of my criticisms,  and identified all of the areas of underperformance and/or incompetence. More importantly, they didn’t bill me for this evaluation. It was conducted out of decency and good faith. I appreciated that wholeheartedly. From there, I asked to be their client and for them to resume the project. That’s essentially the selection process in a nutshell.

**SOLUTION**
Could you describe the scope of the project? Did it include design, development, and support?

It’s hard to be explicit. I’m not a developer myself. The workload was quite comprehensive. There was certainly custom application development and some design work necessary. We’re still in the process of tweaking elements in the application and its integrated information.

Could you describe the size of the project in either monetary terms or personnel dedicated to it?

The long-term project is global in scope. I’m shooting for three million new users in three years, which is ambitious. For now, QBurst has six developers dedicated to the project and two project leads. That number will surely increase as we continue to make progress.

### SecondSight Analytics
SecondSight Analytics is a social media tool that helps you analyze your followers by generating sentiment reports and social-reach metrics. SecondSight captures the essence - the real sentiments behind everything your customers have to say about your business, product, or service.
The tool uses a unique combination of technology and human intelligence to extract subjective information, which are most relevant to your business, from your social conversations.
The tool takes advantage of human judgment, interpretation, and accuracy that no computer algorithms can match, while analyzing conversations.
Consider the case where someone tweets: “My new iPhone is the bomb!” An algorithm would simply categorize it as negative as the keyword here would indicate an explosive device. Whereas in reality, the tweet is a reflection of a highly satisfied customer.
A well-trained workforce behind the tool rules out the possibility of such misinterpretations snowballing into bigger problems.
