Dwellr hired Goodspeed to help take our marketplace over the finish line. We worked with another Bubble dev shop before Goodspeed, and we were ready to try another agency to wrap it up and strategize additional features. They handled a lot of key design choices, development, user flow strategy, API connections, and numerous other tasks that need to be handled to take a marketplace live.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Mostly, the completion of tasks in our list of things that needed done. But also, the speed at which these tasks were prioritized and handled.

They worked super quick and efficiently. We were really happy with their speedy communication, and their daily videos that ran us through everything they worked on that day. They also let us know what tasks they'd be completing the following day, so we always know what was going on. They also ebbed and flowed with our quick changes and additional implementations very quickly.

They delivered on a timely manner, however required several sanity checks on my end. Overall, I was satisfied with the result.

Running more sanity checks on work delivered, as some minor functionalities were not working when delivered to me. Other than that was a great pleasure working with the team.

They're driven and experienced individuals who manage their team of remote engineers very effectively from a client-facing perspective whilst achieving value-for-money outputs within a defined and desirable timeframe.

There were times when progress felt slower than others, but in most cases, this was due to unseen work being done behind the scenes taking time, which gave the impression of inactivity; once this had been identified, communication and expectation setting were re-calibrated, and this has not happened since.

We got in touch with Goodspeed in order the build the app that we have a vision for. They showed great interest in the project which was very important for us. We provided them with our initial design ideas and future plans for the app. After this, they came back with suggestions for how to build it from the data structure up. 

These plans were brilliant, made a lot of sense and set us up for future growth opportunities with expected growth. Goodspeed then delivered on building out the initial designs with great opportunities for feedback from us. After that, they got to work on building the actual app and then setting it live.

We needed a working app that actual users could sign up to. Important aspects were:

For what projects/services did your company hire Goodspeed, and what were your goals?

We built a first version of our MVP, a supply chain financing web app. We wanted to professionalize the existing features, add on more complex features and improve functionalities of features over time.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We received from around 5-10 other service providers seeking fast support. Goodspeed did not only convinced us with their plan that we can achieve our target timeline but also agreed to align our objectives by setting clear milestones to achieve for payment.

The objective of the projects was to first build a Bubble app for our business in an initial 2-months-sprint based on the existing app that was developed in-house and then gradually improve and extend its functionalities in 6 sprints so far (still ongoing). For each sprint the app requirements were first defined by us, then discussed with the Goodspeed team, a timeline estimated & subsequently discussed with us and finally executed with status updates every other day.

Deliverables of each sprint were the required functionalities of the defined product as defined by us. The Bubble app Goodspeed developed covered features for two different platform users and an admin. Product includes include push notifications, matching, automated document issuing and other several process step automations besides data upload forms & displays in various forms.

Two people worked with us mostly. One developer worked with us on a day-to-day business and one lead for high-level planning & scoping on need basis.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Goodspeed met all of our defined requirements so far and sometimes even delivered - in alignment with us - functionalities superior to our initial scope. Since the team is reliable as well as thinks along and ahead beyond the initially defined requirements, we are highly content with their work and are continuing ongoing development with them.

In the planning & scoping, requirements are usually discussed and handed over verbally in one recorded call in the week before start of the sprint. In some cases calls were supplemented by mock-ups or requirements lists. In some other cases loom videos were sufficient to asynchronously align on the requirements.

Communication during the implementation happened first through WhatsApp and then moved to Slack on mutual agreement. Status updates were given frequently through loom videos and loom replies also sent from our side. Since timelines were very tight on our end and requirements shifted from time to time, we deliberately followed this very lean, agile and ad-hoc approach to suit our needs.

Goodspeed is highly dedicated to providing the best experience possible for us. They recognize und very understanding of the highly uncertain & agile conditions we are working in and consent to a working mode that best suits our needs, even if it means more complicated resource planning, need of high frequency and level of communication and alignment, and extra work for them from time to time.

The team is further highly dedicated to deliver the best outcomes, shying no extra work or helping us in any way beyond the expectations set by us to succeed and create the best possible experience for our users.

I am completely happy with how everything is going considering the conditions under which we are working.

Not yet as we are currently in the middle of launching the site - what I can already say. It will help us move most of the steps that we are currently doing manually to a digital level.

We had weekly standups followed by a continuous whatsapp conversation. This made it easy to work together and exchange quick needs and requirements.

Payment integration is not finished yet which is not completely on them - problems with local payment providers. But maybe be a little bit more pushy on this one. More proactiveness in regards to design and also what we could have done differently Very happy overall.

We had a kickoff meeting where we planed the project together. I delivered the planned designs that Goodspeed coded. First we solved the UI before landing workflows and database. We had a couple of iterations that I appreciated so much.
