Legacy app, originating from 2011. The app went through a few software companies and when 2n joined it already had a legacy and redesigned version which was not yet production ready. During that time they worked solely on backend, that handled usage of frontend build in react, and kept up the legacy system working with the new requirements without introducing breaking changes to it, so that legacy could coexist with redesigned until the users could make the full switch.

**The Review** — Jan 26, 2023

**Feedback Summary**: The client described the vendor's work as very effective. The developer the 2N IT team provided had great skills, was communicative and participated in all the meetings he was invited to. The overall project was a success and the client continues to work with the team.
""Their developers are passionate about what they do, they can count on help from their coworkers.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the COO of a software house that creates web apps.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire 2N IT?

We needed a developer that would help us with day-to-day feature implementations and connect our event-based system to live page view updates.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?

They came highly recommended to me by someone I know. We understood each other well in the very first meeting where we only wanted to discuss the project. We immediately caught a common language and we knew that the cooperation would be a pleasure.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

It was the everyday coding work that consisted of the following elements:

Elasticsearch
	Trailblazer
	Custom Turbo Stream solutions
Updating the backend and frontend tech stacks
	Introducing new Frontend technologies
Working closely with design UI team
A lot of refactoring on the backend and frontend side
	Event Sourcing
Lots of updates and reworks done to legacy code and features
Describe the recruitment process in detail.

They came highly recommended and it was not the first time we collaborated. We interviewed the candidate and after our approval we presented the developer to our client which accepted him and onboarded without hesitation.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

It was very important for us that we introduce a strong skilled developer to our client as we were at that time short staffed but at the same time wanted to increase the size of the team and help the client to meet their goals.

It was a success, client was satisfied and we maintained good relationship. Goals were met and we now were able to increase the level of our cooperation with them, also thanks to 2N.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. The provided developer had great skills, was communicative and participated in all the meetings we invited him to. He was giving us a lot of feedback and was always available when we needed him.

Top notch performance and full compatibility with our own standards so no full onboarding was needed, he just knew what we required. That doesn't happen that often in our industry.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their developers are passionate about what they do, they can count on help from their coworkers. How they share knowledge across whole team is quite impressive. We are very much alike in many areas, so I was often surprised to realize that sometimes words were not necessary.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Really nothing comes to my mind right now and I think that says it all.

Co-founder, Travelduck
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Jul 16, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The team developed a fully-functioning solution that boasts solid code and reliable functionalities. They demonstrated a high level of attentiveness through regular sprint meetings and project management tools. Their spirit for problem-solving encouraged a productive, innovative collaboration.
""They took a personal interest in the project and a proactive approach to proposing efficient solutions."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a co-founder at Travelduck, which is a marketplace for adventure trips like kite surfing, trekking, hiking, cycling, watersports, and more.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with 2N IT?

We’d developed a first version of the platform with another provider, and we were looking for a company that could provide us maintenance services and ongoing development.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They built our platform on Ruby on Rails for the backend, with a React frontend. Currently, it’s just a web app.

This is a marketplace that allows users to plan and book multiday trips all over the world. We’re currently aggregating offers from Polish operators, but we plan to include international tour operators after the pandemic subsides. The main value of the platform is that it allows users to compare multiple offers in one place.

The tour operator market is very fragmented, and the quality of their websites varies. We’re helping operators move their services online. Our platform is complex, accommodating for multiday tours that package transportation, accommodation, varied trips, and additional options. It allows packages to be configured for customers’ needs.

What is the team composition?

We have one dedicated web developer and one project manager on 2N IT’s side. We’re mainly working with the developer, and the project manager is engaged when necessary.

How did you come to work with 2N IT?

We mainly found them through recommendations. 2N IT was collaborating with the company that made the first version of the platform.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $15,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with 2N IT in January 2020, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The delivered code and features are working without any problems. 2N IT has very good response times for maintenance issues, and problems are solved immediately. In terms of working on new features, they’re proactive in supporting effective solutions that meet our needs. They’re a business partner, not just a development partner. There’s engagement from their side on making this into an outstanding platform.

How did 2N IT perform from a project management standpoint?

We have weekly and biweekly standups with the developer, which are basically sprint summaries. That’s working pretty well. They deliver what we plan in the sprints. We communicate daily on Slack, and we use Jira and Confluence for project management. They’re pretty responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They took a personal interest in the project and a proactive approach to proposing efficient solutions. Proactive, they come up with ways of coding the platform more efficiently, in terms of time and money.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Everything I wanted has been delivered. I can’t think of anything they could improve on at the moment.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Make sure 2N IT understands the product and the business goals going behind it. We showed them how we’d like to approach the travel industry differently, and they really liked it. They’re open and honest people, but it’s really important for the customer to present their vision clearly in the beginning. That will result in much more engagement from 2N IT’s side.

For what projects/services did your company hire 2N IT?

We had to develop a custom software solution from scratch for our client from abroad. 2N IT was hired for full-stack web development of this solution. Our client was trying to address a business opportunity that exists on the US market in Kitchens and Bathrooms redesign industry. Our custom solution would allow redesign companies to run their whole business in the application.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

My company recommended me this vendor due to its good reputation.

Our team consisted of 2 full-stack web developers (coming from the vendor side), a project manager, designer, and 2 product owners (on the client-side).

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**

The MVP was pushed to production recently and is currently used by the client. The application provides a good user experience and a more productive way for our client to run their business.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Agile Scrum approach was used to manage this project. The team followed the best scrum practices: sprint planning, dailies, demos, etc. Requirements were broken down into user stories and were delivered early and often. Tools that were used: Slack, Jira, Google Hangouts, Google Docs, GitHub, Confluence

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Developers were very professional and committed to their work. They followed all the best practices of software development and Agile. I really felt like we built a very productive team, opened for creativity, always ready to support each other, and committed to produce their best work. I am very satisfied with our cooperation with the vendor and would definitely be glad to work on more projects with them.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The vendor was very opened to feedback and improvement and we were improving our cooperation as we worked. So at the moment, there is nothing I could think of.

**The Review** — Jul 6, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Although the project is still ongoing, the client is happy with 2N IT’s work so far. They’re analytical and have exceptional project management skills, making them a collaborative partner.
""I’m satisfied with what they’ve delivered so far, and that’s why I’m continuing to work with them."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder and CEO of Yoush, a startup manufacturer of powdered foods. We provide nutritionally-balanced meal replacements.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenges were you trying to address with 2N IT?

My partner and I are food technologists, so we took care of the formulation of the product, but we didn’t know anything about websites or the architecture of the marketplace we were going to use. We approached 2N IT to take care of everything around our online shop and landing page.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

2N IT built our landing page and e-commerce platform from scratch, including UI/UX design. They consulted with us on how to create the simplest journey for users to buy a product from our shop. I believe they’re using Ruby on Rails, and they have tools in place for showing us staging versions of the site.

What is the team composition?

Adam (CEO) is working as our project manager, and we’re also in contact with two developers.

How did you come to work with 2N IT?

I got a recommendation from a friend.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost of this project will be around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with 2N IT in late-February 2020, and the work is ongoing. We plan to launch the site before the end of summer.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve kept milestones for different parts of the website development, and 2N IT has delivered on time. We’re confident that they’re taking care of the work. Adam has an analytical mind for managing projects, and he’s been able to translate our non-technical requests into workable solutions.

I’m satisfied with what they’ve delivered so far, and that’s why I’m continuing to work with them.

How did 2N IT perform from a project management standpoint?

I rank them highly in this regard. The schedules they proposed made sense, and they accounted for possible setbacks. We’re using Trello, and we also communicate through standard phone and video calls. It was convenient for us to have videoconferences during the COVID-19 lockdown.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s a combination of things. They’ve taken care of the full complexity of the solution being built. Every part of the process is on their side. They looked at our solution from the point of view of the end-user, and they actually corrected me on some of the requirements I brought in the beginning.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything so far.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should tell them as much as possible about their product and goal from the beginning. 2N IT asks a lot of questions and challenges you, so your initial point of view will change.

**The Review** — Apr 28, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The general data surrounding 2N IT's work has pleased the startup. The team at 2N IT is enjoyable to work with, as they're prompt, responsive, and communicative. 2N IT switched project managers frequently, causing issues with project management, although their full-time dedication mitigated this.
""I enjoy working with them. They’re very quick and responsive."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of a startup called TaleBook.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with 2N IT?

I was looking for a development team.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The work was a full-time developer for the backend and small parts. They added features, I can’t list them because there was a lot of them. The product is for our external clients.

What is the team composition?

We had a point of contact who changed a lot. They switched the person depending on the ability and who could solve the problem that came up. There were roughly four of them, and we worked with the CEO of the company throughout.

How did you come to work with 2N IT?

They were recommended by a friend of mine. After I pursued them based upon this recommendation, it turned out I peripherally knew the CEO of the company. I trusted them, so I decided to go with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We have spent around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began work in January 2019, and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They didn’t track the quantitative side of the work, but I’m satisfied with their work based on the general data.

How did 2N IT perform from a project management standpoint?

I enjoy working with them. They’re very quick and responsive. The only problem I had was that they kept switching project managers, but I’ll defend them because they worked full time throughout it.

They’re very good at communicating. They met every deadline — if they didn’t the mistake was on my side. We used both Slack and Trello.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m very happy with their response times and their communication. Despite working directly with engineers, they are incredibly responsive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They don’t have great project management. Although they’re a small team, they could’ve been better at project management and keeping track of the picture we’re working on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

There are different experiences working with different people from the same company. Check who you’re working with, because it’ll change your experience.

I’m the founder of a tech venture that’s in its early stages.

We’re in transition right now with our in-house development team and needed consistent technical support. We sought to leverage expertise from a few developers.

Their project manager serves as an effective intermediary. He helps smooth out the communication process, which I really appreciate. The team has also given us additional support to make sure that nothing is lost in translation. Our teams communicate through email, Slack, and our sprint meetings.

We’re always looking for ways to speed up the progress, but I think what they do is in fair time. They’ve also given us additional support, so I really have no complaints.

**Feedback Summary**: The client is very satisfied with the work from 2N IT and has full confidence in their ability to deliver. The team has significantly improved the client's code and consistently delivered at a high standard. 2N IT has been supplying the client with reliable project management and communication.
""2N IT has delivered everything we asked for and continues to impress us as our business evolves.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am an executive for a niche consumer social networking app.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire 2N IT, and what were your goals?

We partnered with 2N to review our current code base and assess the value of moving forward with it or starting over from the beginning.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

2N came highly recommended from others in their local scene. Over and over their name came up when asking who is the best.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We started with explaining what the foundation of our business is, where we plan to go, and what we need to get there. The main factors that were repeatedly discussed were domain expertise, reliability, partnership, and confidence. 2N delivered and continues to deliver on all of the above and then some with the rails backend foundation they built from scratch, after we decided that is how we will get the most out of our partnership in the long run.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Anywhere from 3-5, depending on the phase of our project. This included the founder, senior level developers, and junior developers being taught the ropes. All in all, everyone was easily accessible, and had the knowledge/liberty to suggest what they believe is best for my business from a technical standpoint, to match our business needs.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

They delivered on the only thing that matters - confidence. We went from an emergency situation/poor code to now knowing we have the best team (code quality/reliability/availability) to help take us to the next level. And because of this, we now have multiple apps within our business that they have built from the start and continue to manage for us.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Project management was exactly what we were looking for - from the planning, communication, feedback, and execution. Every week we are dialed in with what's priority, currently being worked on, needed from either end, and what's next. And if anything urgent popped up, they made it happen on their end to resolve, regardless of the time of day or day of the week.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Again, it all comes down to the confidence we have knowing that 2N is doing their job as part of our team. It truly feels like they sitting right next to us and allows us to carry out business objectives, without any concerns from the tech side of it.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There are no concerns on our end, 2N IT has delivered everything we asked for and continues to impress us as our business evolves.

Multi-tenant MVC app built on Rails/Django, a standalone React act and APIs AWS, Segment, Heroku, Postgres, Shopify, Bold Commerce, Recharge, Metabase.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

1 FS, 2 BE, and 1 FE

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The product was a success, validating both our core hypotheses.

Hypothesis 1: We could get users to give us their data vs just skip / cancel (change behaviour)  Of those starting the flow with intent to cancel due to product build up, 66% used Liminal to delay their next order by providing usage data. Brands using Liminal achieved 25% reduction in churn. Having Liminal on site increased conversion to subscription by 60%

Hypothesis 2: Any reduction in frequency was offset by an increase in lifetime value (generate value for our customers, some of which we could ‘tax’ as income)  46% increase in LTV for customers using Liminal

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Open, honest, straightforward.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Super flexible contract. Engineers were brilliant to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
