Think "elevated poster art" — not a literal Google Maps print, not a corporate brand diagram. A real piece you'd be proud to hang on a wall, that *happens* to also function as the substrate for a real-time train-tracking display. This is the **first product** in the line and the one I'm currently shipping. The original artwork is being refreshed; I'm looking for the illustrator who'll define the visual identity going forward. If you've done transit-themed posters, isometric city illustrations, vintage-tourism-poster-style work, Art Deco / industrial illustration, or watercolor architectural prints — you might be a fit. What I'm commissioning One thing: an illustrated map of the Chicago "L" rail system, delivered as a high-resolution print file (24" × 36" poster, 300 DPI minimum), plus the layered source file (Illustrator / Affinity /Procreate / Photoshop — producer's choice as long as it's editable). The artwork should: - Show all 8 lines (Red, Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Yellow) with recognizable geographic accuracy. Not Harry-Beck-style schematic — but not Google-Maps-literal either. Stylized geographic. You should be able to tell which line is which without a legend, but the map should still look like a piece of art, not infographic clip-art. The Loop (the downtown elevated rectangle where six lines converge) deserves real visual care — it's the icon of the system. - Mark all ~144 station locations with markers visually substantial enough that a 1mm LED dot at that position will look intentional. Stations need to be the visual anchors — not lost in busy background detail. I'll provide the exact GPS lat/lon of every station from CTA's published roster. - Reserve color hierarchy for the line traces. Backgrounds, water features, parks, and downtown context should be muted enough that the eight CTA line colors (Red #C60C30, Blue #00A1DE, Brown #62361B, Green #009B3A, Orange #F9461C, Pink #E27EA6, Purple #522398, Yellow #F9E300) read instantly. Cream / parchment / soft-grey backgrounds tend to work best behind the LEDs. Note that the Brown line is the trickiest at LED intensities; happy to discuss tuning. - Identify itself as Chicago. Lake Michigan along the east edge, the Chicago River branching through downtown, the Loop, recognizable landmarks where they make sense (Wrigley near the Red Line at Addison, Soldier Field near Roosevelt, O'Hare and Midway out at the termini). This isn't an abstracted network diagram — it's a tribute to a city.

1. Post-Launch Handover & Self-Sufficiency Could Have Been Stronger
-While they provided several Loom tutorials, we still encountered several small issues after going live (gradient text not easy to replicate, certain elements breaking on mobile, form configurations, etc.).
-A more comprehensive final handover document or a recorded walkthrough of the full Wix editor (key pages, custom CSS locations, how to properly duplicate elements, etc.) would have saved us time troubleshooting.

2. Technical Implementation Details on Wix
-Some advanced effects (especially gradient text and certain layouts) relied on custom CSS that wasn’t always intuitive for us to maintain or duplicate.

-A few times we had to remind them about specific requests (e.g., certain pages or small fixes), whereas earlier in the project the updates were more frequent and anticipatory.

4. Small Polish Items
-Some images appeared blurry on the live site (we had to replace them ourselves). A few content elements (blog posts, social links, exact FAQ answers) needed our direct involvement to complete, even though we expected them to be fully migrated.

Summary – Balanced View
These points are relatively minor in the grand scheme of the project. None of them were deal-breakers, and the final quality of the deliverables remained high. Most of the issues stemmed from the complexity of Wix as a platform and our own slow feedback cycles rather than major shortcomings on their side.

Recommendation for 10turtle:
For future projects, they could further strengthen the final handover phase with a clear maintenance guide and perhaps offer a short “knowledge transfer” call after launch. This would make the transition even smoother for non-technical clients.
