Deliverables were not tracked closely by Bright.  There was no program manager or scrum master assigned to the team.  Due to time zone challenges, it was often difficult for the bright mobile lead to coordinate with the product team.  There were no hard customer deadlines for feature releases, so we managed expectations around scope and release timelines on an ad-hoc basis.

Developing a high-performance iOS app for our food delivery service, focusing on seamless user experience, real-time order tracking, and secure payment integration. Full collaboration with our product, desgin and backend teams. The team also conducted thorough testing and optimization to deliver a reliable, user-friendly app.

The app was built using Swift, with SwiftUI as the primary UI engine (previously UIKit). Key UI libraries included SwiftUI Introspect, SnapKit, and Lottie. For concurrency, the app leveraged Swift Concurrency and Combine. External tools such as Firebase (Crashlytics), Sentry, Branch IO, Intercom, Google Sign-In, and Facebook were integrated for monitoring, analytics, and authentication. Payments were handled through Apple Pay and local payment vendor. Rigorous testing was conducted using Quick/Nimble, Swift Snapshot Testing, and Combine Schedulers to ensure performance, reliability, and a bug-free experience.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project successfully transitioned the app from UIKit to SwiftUI, and from closures towards Swift concurrency (Actors), improving maintainability, performance, and development efficiency. Alongside this refactor, the team also closed a significant feature gap that had accumulated prior to their involvement, ensuring the app met business and user needs. As a result, the app now benefits from a more modern architecture, faster development cycles, and a more consistent user experience. These improvements contributed to better app stability, enhanced UI responsiveness, and a more streamlined development process moving forward.

I’m the founder and former CEO of MedKitDoc. Our company tries to prevent up to 25% of hospitalizations of people living in nursing homes. Essentially, we’re a telemedicine company that allows doctors to use medical devices during video consultations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, I gave bright inventions a brief describing what our company was doing. We had a call where I explained our issue — we didn’t have enough backend developers. In Germany, it was difficult to hire and retain teammates. We needed someone reliable and wanted to avoid the issues we had with our previous vendors.

At present, the bright inventions team provides us with resources, including Android, iOS, and backend developers. These resources are fully integrated into our development staff, so they use the tools we use, including AWS. The backend development tasks are done using Kotlin. A couple of their developers work on the backend and support our Android developer. 

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with around five teammates from bright inventions, including Mateusz (Partner & Head of Delivery) — he’s my main point of contact. I’ve also worked with Tomasz (iOS Developer), who’s our first backend developer. 

How did you come to work with bright inventions?

My network highly recommended them. Interestingly, bright inventions initially said they were extremely busy when I described my needs. However, they eventually assigned someone to help us. That was the start of the engagement.

The partnership started in September 2022, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The bright inventions team is a lifesaver when it comes to onboarding additional resources. When somebody from our internal staff jumps ship, bright inventions makes things possible. They give us developers who can work on our tasks even if they have to pull resources from another project. On top of that, the teammates they assign are always high-quality. 

Overall, whenever we have issues with our developers, we can call bright inventions to work with us. We’ve had quite a successful partnership with them, and it’s positively impacted our business. Our technical needs are attended to, and I can focus on the business. 

How did bright inventions perform from a project management standpoint?

The bright inventions developers are integrated into our team, and they always have tasks to do — this has worked out well for us.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Mateusz is a technical teammate who now performs customer-facing tasks, but he does not oversell or promise anything. That’s his biggest differentiating factor in the market. Others promise the world but don’t deliver in the end. 

By contrast, Mateusz is precise in telling me what he can and can’t do in six months. This is the best way to build trust with me. I can trust him to deliver something in six months, and that’s truly awesome. 

Meanwhile, our interactions with Tomasz have worked out well. When our backend developers leave for some reason, he’s there on the backend, leading the process. It’s our first time having an external teammate serve as a lead in our staff. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Compared to everyone else, bright inventions doesn’t promise things they can’t deliver. They tell us what they can and can’t do. When I ask for an iOS or Android developer, they take their time to get a good one instead of assigning someone who has the bare minimum. The best thing about them is that I can count on their actions. They have skilled teammates who’ve gone through a vetting process. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They can help us better understand their capabilities to support our needs. This part of the engagement isn’t quite transparent from a customer perspective. We want to know what else they have for us and what kind of teammates they’re willing to assign to us in the future.

To be fair, they’ve improved a lot on the things we’ve given feedback about — for instance, Mateusz has improved his customer-facing skills. He’s been so technical when talking to us, but we’ve asked him to focus on improving his follow-ups and sales talks. Now, he’s become truly helpful and does everything we need better. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Work with bright inventions more than other suppliers. If they tell you they don’t have the resources you need, don’t automatically move on to the next vendor. Try to still work with bright inventions until they have someone who can join your team. Having someone from their team working with you is truly worth it. You can call them up whenever you need extra support. 

Other companies can deliver support quickly, but their quality is questionable. Meanwhile, bright inventions always deliver high-quality resources, but it takes time. As a result, you have to be patient when working with them.

I’m the executive director of Montr, a Dutch company. We’re located in The Hague, Netherlands; we offer SaaS solutions.

We needed to develop an application from scratch.

What was the scope of their involvement?

One of the solutions we’ve worked on with bright inventions is an inspection application. It’s a tool for employees, companies, or government organizations to do inspections on roads, like fraud or medical investigations. Our software applications report these.

Initially, we provided them with documentation. They started with the MVP, and we’ve done several iterations to improve the product. The platform is a progressive web application with Docker and an Azure backend.

We’ve been in contact with 5–6 teammates over the years.

How did you come to work with bright inventions?

I found them by coincidence. We already had an ongoing collaboration with another company in Gdansk, Poland. I did my own online research for a company in that city because we already had good experiences there and found bright inventions.

We began working together in January 2018. With a heavy heart, we’ll close our partnership in May 2024 because our company is growing, so there are other team and organizational development requirements. However, they still feel a high level of responsibility.

The impact on our business has been excellent. bright inventions has built a reliable product with a strong foundation for scaling, which is something you don’t always see in a software project. Sometimes companies just write the code, and when you want to start your product, you find out the foundation isn’t strong enough. However, our product has been strong from day one.

Overall, bright inventions’ work is high quality.

How did bright inventions perform from a project management standpoint?

When it comes to deadlines, the project manager is really involved. They’ve never missed a deadline we’ve agreed upon. Sometimes software development isn’t straightforward, but bright inventions is always on time. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of their team is impressive; the developers and senior management team are highly proficient. The team is efficient, high-skilled, and knowledgeable. Sometimes situations don’t work out as planned, but the senior management team will step in to solve the issue. 

Moreover, they’re highly responsible and involved in the work. When there’s an issue, they’re always available and ready to step in, even for small things. The team feels a responsibility to deliver an optimal service.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have any points for improvement. It’s been a pleasure working with them; I’d recommend bright inventions to any other company.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you have an excellent description of the work that needs to be done. I also suggest that you work toward a more structural working relationship. You will benefit more from a long-term collaboration, not a project-based one.

We found bright inventions through a referral while looking for a partner who can offer both, frontend & backend capabilities, understand our business logic and shares a similar understanding of quality, service & delivery.

Starting with a php-backend, bright inventions helped us to upgrade our backend to node.js, improve our AWS-infrastructure to reduce our cost-structure while increasing our volume & flexibility, and bring our native, mobile applications, both iOS & Android, on another level.

During all of that, bright inventions serves both as a development partner and a sparing partner in challenging and choosing the right approach & setup. Besides our B2C mobile applications, they are building our B2B web-applications to manage our partners and our internal admin panel to operate our business.

There is one team-lead, and a flexible team of up to 2 mobile developers (one for each platform) and 3 to 4 backend developer. On request bright inventions bring in UI/UX designer and DevOps.

Bright inventions and the whole team is always with full heart at the project, understands our logic and intention behind and respects our requests and demands. The quality of delivered stories / features is in general very high / fast and the understanding of bright inventions is to work as a partner-team to get the best solution ready. We highly appreciate the cooperation and the great business progress Relevo did would not be possible without the dedicated work of bright inventions.

We are working with a project manager who is managing all requests and the team and the overall communication style is always friendly, fast and solution-oriented. We work on a tool-set with Slack & Jira and the delivery-timeliness are met in most of the cases, unless there are some urgent, last-minute changes to be made. There is a great cultural fit and the cooperation is highly respected.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The excitement the whole development team is putting into our work is vivid and the communication goes beyond only work related topics. To find a development partner matching the skillset and the cultural / communicational level of bright inventions is tough to imaging.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The quality of the work is really great, matching the timeline & Q&A are minor areas with room for improvement, but we are jointly working on getting better and the understanding and respect is given.

We’re very satisfied with the product that Bright Inventions delivered. Both versions of the app were developed according to our needs. We’re planning further cooperation with their team to add new features and services.

They kept us in the loop at all times and provided updates and progress reports on a weekly basis. They were also very accessible, and interactions between our designers and their developers were productive. They made us feel like we were one cohesive team, even going so far as to build a workstation at their office for our lead backend developer.

Our goal was to deliver a mobile app which helped users to manage their medical cabinet at home by scanning the pharmaceutical ID on the medicine's packaging and fetching related data from an attached database. Users then could manually add further details such as household members, prescribing doctors, and symptoms/dosage of the medication.

The founders got in touch by email and sent their portfolio. Since they had worked for large companies before, we were positive that they could match our standards.

We created a concept with wireframes as well as the app’s design in Photoshop. Bright Inventions received these documents, and after a kick-off meeting, went straight to work. We installed weekly calls for clarifying open questions and status updates. They developed the frontend for iOS and Android as well as the backend of the system for handling the external medical database and push notifications.

There were three to four people involved from Bright Inventions’ side over the course of the project, depending upon which part of the system was currently in development.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

For us as an agency, the project was a good showcase for future clients in the health industry. Working with Bright Inventions is always a pleasure. The people involved are friendly and to the point. They’re also pragmatic, constructive, and punctual.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We worked with Jira, which helped to keep an overview from all sides and was especially useful when considering the distance between us. Other tools used include Slack, Skype, iMessage, and Trello.

Sometimes, they didn’t have meeting rooms available for us, but they have moved to a new location so this has improved.

We were an eHealth startup that created an app for physiotherapists and clinics. The app was designed to digitally assist patients and aid their recovery in a faster, more reliable way.

We established a business plan and needed an external partner to complete the programming.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bright Inventions developed our native iOS and Android apps from scratch. We spent two days at their office introducing our model. They built a minimally viable product that we showcased to customers. It received positive feedback, so we continued to work on a full product.

One of the tool’s functionalities was a recording process for exercise routines. Therapists could use it to send comments and other data to their patients, who could review those inputs and manage their exercises from home.

The platform has two versions: one for therapists and one for patients. The therapy version has more features, whereas the patient version is limited to exercise reviews and feedback.

What is the team composition?

They assigned a project manager and separate iOS and Android teams for our project—five or six people in total. The manager ensured that both versions worked well and complied with our requirements.

How did you come to work with Bright Inventions?

One of our investors had worked with them in the past and introduced us. We reached out to Bright Inventions and described our challenges.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost of their work was around €110,000 [$136,000 USD].

What is the status of this engagement?

Our first meeting was in December 2016. We started working with Bright Inventions in January 2017. The first development phase ended in July. A German software company became interested in purchasing our app, and Bright Inventions helped us with the documentation and legal process. Although the contract was complete, they still offered to help.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They delivered on time and on budget, which was one of our biggest criteria. From a qualitative standpoint, we were very satisfied. Our customers were also impressed with the speed and reliability of the app.

The platform was ultimately acquired by another company, so the code and overall work were definitely of a high quality.

How did Bright Inventions perform from a project management standpoint?

My business partner and the CTO of the company was the main point of contact for their team. He also tightly managed the process between our company and the developers. The project manager from their side acted as a single point of contact for us.

We had different levels of communication, mainly using Skype and management tools like Jira. Our five-person team also went to visit Bright Inventions in person.

We worked in two-week sprints, updating our vision and goals for their team at the end of each one. They delivered the MVP version on time and on budget.

Through open communication, we leveraged their experience in app development. Rather than developing the entire product, we worked in an iterative, lean startup manner. We were constantly improving the prototype towards our goal.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed by their young team’s experience level. They are a young team that works closely with the customer, and we had a similar approach. We learned more about the app and our customers with each step, and they implemented those findings into the next sprints. We became better and better throughout the collaboration. We would have paid much more in Germany for the same quality.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve had a great collaboration in terms of both production and communication. I have nothing negative to mention.

I’m the founder and CEO of a business that provides a holistic retail management system to small and medium-sized chains around the world. We also provide services for shoppers in those establishments as well as to commercial real estate and large brands.

We needed additional development capacity. I was frustrated with the caliber that I was dealing with, so I wanted a new outsourced team.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We first tasked Bright Inventions with a pilot, which they completed quickly and well. After that, nearly all of our development efforts became their responsibility. They took control of engineering, QA, and all other technical aspects of the company, as well as design and usability.

Our products are divided into three different toolboxes: shoppers, retail, and large brands. For the first, we built autonomous shopping capabilities that allow shoppers to purchase in and out of brick-and-mortar stores. These tools are for the end user (the shopper), and they come as native apps; we built an engine that can facilitate both Android and iOS native apps.

The second toolbox is a single point in the cloud that concentrates on all the different parts of a retail business. It’s a web service combined with a native point of sale product. Lastly, we built a special system for commercial real estate and large brands to monitor and manage their cohort of retailers. It allows them to see, in real time, what’s happening in a certain market or at a certain shopping center. The client can use it to optimize their rev share, and it contains other tools to enable better communication. Bright Inventions helped with all of these projects.

How did you come to work with Bright Inventions?

I was looking for international tech teams, and a colleague referred me to a different company. I began searching a directory that company was on, and Bright Inventions was also on it. I sent an email to many of the companies on that list and interviewed a few of them. Bright Inventions seemed to be a good match in terms of attitude and transparency, and they communicated well. They were familiar with what I wanted to do, so after our pilot, we met in-person, and I hired them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any quantitative metrics, but Bright Inventions is a great partner and feels like part of our team. We trust them and their work so much that they have the liberty to make a lot of different decisions that aren’t typically allotted to contractors. They’re essentially responsible for certain pieces of our business; that’s how much we rely on them.

How did Bright Inventions perform from a project management standpoint?

They're extremely committed and responsive. We have a fairly small team with customers all over the world, so we can’t always invest a lot of time into Bright Inventions’ work, but they take ownership and always deliver.

We use Jira, Slack, Trello, and really any kind of tool that will help us get our work done. We have quite a bit of information that needs to be coordinated and multiple pieces of software, so we have to have a coherent process and clear guidelines for managing that.

What did you find most impressive about them?
