I'm the director of a charity organization.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with The Yard Creative?
My son raised a considerable amount of money for charity, so we decided to launch a charitable foundation to encourage creativity. We planned to launch the foundation with a national campaign, which several famous people supported. We needed help with the foundation's branding, the campaign, and the design of the foundation's website.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We initially mapped out the scope of work. We started with a meeting with The Yard Creative, attended by my wife, my son, and me. We had a brainstorming session where the team asked us questions about our intentions to get a clear feel for what we were trying to achieve, who our audience was, what the feel of the brand was, and what our focus was. We spent 4 to 5 hours workshopping that with visuals and questions.
From there, The Yard Creative mapped out what they had heard from us and presented it back to us. The team initially came up with a first pass of suggestions for the branding approach for both the foundation and the campaign. They presented three ideas for each, and we quickly identified one that we felt was strong.
The team then went back and did a second pass. We were close to finalizing the designs after that. Having established the brands, fonts, and color palettes, the team moved on to the website design using Figma. We provided the copy and the visuals, and they mapped out the wireframe, fonts, and the relationship between fonts and imagery across the 8 to 9 pages we wanted to create.

We initially met about five teammates from The Yard Creative, including a principal designer, a junior designer who acted as an account handler, and the managing director.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The Yard Creative was efficient. They listened carefully to what we had to say and did a good job distilling our ideas into a visual presentation. They captured what we were thinking.
How did The Yard Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
The Yard Creative responded fast, was organized, and stuck to the agreed schedule. Everything was done on time and on budget. We communicated via phone calls and emails.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were very pleasant to deal with.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Use the initial brainstorming meeting to be as open and honest as possible about what you want. The Yard Creative is good at listening to your ideas, but it's up to you to embrace the spirit of the working process. Trust them, but don't be afraid to give your feedback.
