We interviewed several local companies and discussed their skills and abilities in the technologies used by our system. The primary factors we used to make our decision included skill alignment, responsiveness, estimated timeline and cost.

We met with the XeoDev team to describe what we were looking for, provided them access to the code base, and detailed descriptions for the changes that we wanted to make to the system. Once we selected XeoDev they began work on the project and delivered the changes for testing within three week. After a week of testing they successfully launched the changes into our production environment.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

In the three months that we have worked with XeoDev they have delivered three different projects for us. All of them were delivered on time and within budget. They did a great job of seeking clarification of all of the technical details prior to beginning work on the project and then delivered exactly what was asked for. They have been fantastic to work with.

Working directly with the CEO has been spectacular. He fully understands the technology and quickly grasps the details of what we ask for. They requested that we use Trello for all of the details for the project and it has proven to be a great tool for all aspects of communicating with him throughout the life cycle of the projects.

XeoDev is a very professional organization. They did what they said they would within the estimated timeframe. They do what they say they will do within the estimated timeframe.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I only have great things to say about XeoDev. I am not aware of any areas for improvement at this time.

I’m the chief technology officer at a health and wellness software company. Our products help hospitals and large organizations conduct employee and member health screenings.

What challenge were you trying to address with XeoDev?

One of our clients wanted our web-based platform to be available in a mobile app. Our internal development team had no bandwidth to handle this request, so we brought them in.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built iOS and Android solutions. After meeting with Ray (Co-Founder & CEO) and David (Co-Founder & CTO), we defined requirements and had their developers start working with our internal team to build the apps. The key feature we needed them to implement was interconnectivity to the Apple and Android health app data. The app had to interface with fitness tracking systems like those in the Apple Watch so that we could gather data as people were exercising.

I primarily worked with Ray and David, allowing them to coordinate activities with their internal team. My senior developer worked closely with David and their developers as well.

They were among 35–40 firms I reached out to when I started my search. I appreciated that they were located in the same area as my company and that they communicated effectively. They clearly understood my goals for the project and could convey technical ideas in a non-confusing manner.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March 2019–January 2020. They delivered a working product in October 2019 and then spent the months after that fixing any bugs we found. We developed a good relationship over the course of the engagement, so we’ve been in contact since the end of our work together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since one of our clients specifically requested this app, we knew we’d have 20,000 users up-front to test its effectiveness. We haven’t had many support tickets logged, and people are definitely using the app. Their work has kept this customer happy.

How did XeoDev perform from a project management standpoint?

David was very on the ball in this area. Their team did a good job making sure all our processes were documented and tracked. I’ve incorporated some of their practices on this project into my internal processes since our engagement ended. We used Trello and Google Drive, which made it easy to track our progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They did a great job of translating my ideas into tangible app features.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Apple HealthKit was new to them, and their unfamiliarity with it led to some avoidable bugs that they had to sort out. There weren’t many bugs, though, and the API was relatively new at the time of the project.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be prepared to spend time documenting processes and requirements up-front. You may be tempted to push for an early start to the development phase of your project, but thinking through everything early on will ensure that they deliver a product that you’re happy with without needing several rounds of feedback.

I'm the CEO of Pictoria Studios, a web development and digital marketing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with XeoDev?

We were working with a medical business that needed to update their Medicare compliance, so our team brought in XeoDev as a partner. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The problem started with a ransomware attack unleashed by a former employee of the medical company. David and Ramy (Founders & CEOs) worked to get rid of it quickly. After seeing how the client was storing their data on-site, they transferred them to a cloud-based system on AWS. Essentially, XeoDev built an AWS-formatted database and overhauled the end client’s entire system. 

This project was harder than building something from scratch. In fact, XeoDev spent several months picking through the mess left by the end client’s previous employee; valuable data was found there. We also did a fair amount of testing and switched over to the new system during New Year’s Day when the end client had downtime. 

Moreover, around 95% of the work was done off-site. However, XeoDev did come to the office to install a VPN so they could work remotely in a secure environment as required by HEPA. David was also present when the Medicare compliance officer audited the client's system.

David and Ramy were our main points of contact. Apart from them, 5–6 other developers also worked on the project. 

How did you come to work with XeoDev?

David was recommended to me because he’d worked on one of Disney’s multi-billion dollar projects before. He also had over 20 years of experience in Microsoft. I talked to him, and it was apparent that I was dealing with a top-level person, which was few and far in between in terms of software partners. As a result, we decided to collaborate with XeoDev. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent somewhere in the ballpark of $50,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership lasted from July–December 2016.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The system was extremely fast and worked well. We also identified security holes, so we made it more secure. At the same time, it brought our end client into compliance with Medicare. That was good because they would have been liable for severe penalties if the database was set up incorrectly. We also discovered some violations, which we corrected to be compliant with regulations.

Overall, everybody from the employees to the management team of the end client was excited about the new system. The old system was a festering wound for so long — an essentially broken system — and XeoDev turned it into a modern security system. Moreover, it gave their staff additional capabilities for remote work. 

How did XeoDev perform from a project management standpoint?

XeoDev was quick to address issues. David and Ramy were great at explaining things in layman’s terms so that non-technical people could understand what they were doing. They were clear and concise in their explanations, which was a highly valuable skill that helped push the project along. I had seen other developers mess up their business relationships by only writing checks without a clear explanation. By contrast, XeoDev was great at giving customers all appropriate options. 

To communicate, we used Trello. We’d put notes on the Trello board, and David would respond right away. We’d create a task there, and it would be done by the time we came to work the next morning. Overall, this project management tool cut down a lot of chain emails and status inquiries from people. We could always go to the project board and see the tasks right there. In fact, it was so simple that we were able to train our clients on it. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

XeoDev did flat-rate pricing, giving us an estimate upfront instead of opting for an open-ended hourly commitment. That was important for me because it meant they understood the scope of the project and were realistic about it. 

For comparison, I’d worked with other people in the past who’d learn how to do something while we were paying them. By contrast, David had done this kind of project a couple of times before, so he knew what was involved and what it would take to deliver the results we wanted.

Are there any areas they could improve?

From a digital marketing perspective, XeoDev could have learned more about the type of work that I did. They had good software development skills and their build was perfect, but they were lacking on the marketing and business side. If a customer came to them with specific parameters or problems, they’d be able to solve them. However, if one came to them with an app, they probably wouldn’t be able to provide a business model. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Do it. I’ve had many bad experiences working with other partners who bite more than they can chew, so working with XeoDev has been a nice experience.

There are a lot of factors to coding an app that I wasn’t aware of. XeoDev walked me through all the things I needed to accomplish to make the app fully functional.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had to lay down a lot of foundations behind the PHP coding. We had to make everything gel together to give the user experience the right feel. We worked with AWS, Cloudflare, Stripe. It’s currently for Android, but we plan on working on an iOS version later next year.

What was the scope of their involvement?

XeoDev handles our web development efforts. They helped me put a plan together, choose various options that were the best fit, and then built the platform. It’s an online marketplace that allows power stations to market and communicate with each other around the basis of surplus inventory.

Essentially, it’s like a classified advertisements website but dedicated to the power generation industry and has secure access that doesn’t allow other entities to use it. The platform was customized and built from the ground up using Amazon Cloud.

I’m in frequent contact with both of the owners.

I looked online for a freelancer. After interviewing several entities, I felt the most comfortable going forward with XeoDev. We had a very clear plan laid out before ever signing a contract. What’s more, they’re a local company, which was very important to me.

The site has launched, and it’s now up to me to collect the client base and ad revenue. Throughout the project, XeoDev allowed me to see the progress, test the features, and make adjustments. We worked with this iterative methodology throughout the development process and it was a fantastic metric for success.

They’re extremely responsive and can make decisions on the spot when needed. Their team was organized, communicative, and planned well. We use Trello for communication as well as meeting for in-person meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

XeoDev did a good of explaining how, why, and when to expect things in terms that were easy for me to understand. As someone who isn’t a developer or tech-savvy, I don’t know all the terminology but it didn’t matter.

No, not really but there’s always room to improve communication with those who aren’t familiar with technical terms.

Ask questions and let them tell you if there’s anything you’re missing. Present a clear, concise business model to achieve the best outcome and be specific. They’re experienced and will help you. I encourage continuous engagement.

I’m the CEO and founder of a video interview company. 

We collaborate with our clients to come up with four questions that will prescreen candidates before they come onsite. We do all of the work for the client. All the client does is provide us with names, email addresses, and phone numbers for the candidates. 

About a week later, they get a link to a secure platform, which then provides all of the candidates and their interview highlight reels along with collaboration and writing tools for them to all look together. They can then decide whether or not to actually bring the candidates on site.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I have no real technical background, my strengths are in business management. I explained what I wanted to them and they translated it into a technical solution. They helped me better articulate what I needed, and provided feedback and ideas as well. The product capabilities include the ability to send invites to candidates, record interviews, and send links to clients.

Ray and David were my key contacts. I spoke to David the most. There were more people behind the scenes, but I never spoke to them directly. It was nice to have one main contact.

We started working together in October 2019, and the project concluded in February 2020. They helped fix a few issues since then, but we’re not formally working together at the moment.

We met or exceeded each of the goals we laid out at the beginning of the project. I didn’t know what to expect coming in and this was outside my realm. However, XeoDev made my idea come to life.

I don’t have any areas they can improve. It was a good experience. A tutorial on how to use Trello could’ve been helpful, but maybe that was more on me.

Be transparent about your strengths and weaknesses so they can help you. This way, they can explain certain aspects of the project to you so there are no misunderstandings.

Both the business and technological solutions that XEO Dev helped architect, road-map and then they ultimately executed & delivered for us have revolutionized our position in our unique space with some of the most advanced experiences for our end users and internal teams alike. The final results gave us a competitive advantage that was equivalent to an advancement of easily 5 years ahead of anything our competition could contend with.

Effectively, XEO Dev drove 95% of the project management and required limited high level interaction with our organization at various & strategic milestones. Their master understanding of not only the projects at hand and the various technologies required to execute our solutions, but also their clear understanding our the unique nature of our business allowed for extremely limited friction during every phase of development.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The flexible and open-minded mindset exhibited by the team ensured that we had the best possible solutions. They were delivered with zero surprises. Their detailed pre-planning and business development prior to the start of each project was such a pinnacle component on the then seamless execution of the subsequent builds.

Their strict adherence to the old adage, "measure twice, cut once" is an asset that assuredly contributed to the fluid execution of each milestone straight through to final deliverable. Unprecedented planning and road-mapping!

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our client wanted to replace their paper records with electronic medical records. XeoDev used PHP and Java to develop a medical application for us. The backend is running on a website and the frontend is running on multiple tablets. The tablets sync with the backend, so if you don't have access to a tablet, you can go online and update the records. There is also an electronic signature feature. XeoDev helped us test the app and clear out all the bugs.

I worked with about four members of their team, including a project manager.

We found them online. We did some small web development projects together and we liked the quality of their work, so the partnership grew.

Our clients love the app. They don't have to worry about losing records and following different requirements for paperwork. They can also go back several years and look at old records.

How did XeoDev perform from a project management standpoint? 

XeoDev did an excellent job keeping the project on track and updating us on the progress. Often, they delivered ahead of our deadlines. We mostly used phone, video conferences, and Skype to communicate. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

XeoDev has all the necessary skills to deliver large-scale and small-scale projects in a timely fashion. They're very capable and knowledgeable, so we could rely on them.

Overall, they've done a great job.

Know your requirements upfront and explain to them what you need. They will deliver it–no matter how complicated the project it.

What challenge were you trying to address with XeoDev?

I came to realize that our firm wanted a software solution that didn't exist yet. We needed a professional to create it for us from the ground up. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

After we came to XeoDev with our idea, they took charge of the entire process of creating it.  Our concept centered on how a new methodology for legal document management. During our initial discussions, we explained how certain functions should take place. The team discussed using technology Java and building the software on a MySQL server. 

After I proposed our concept to David (Founder and CEO, XeoDev), he took it to a completely different level.  They not only fully understand our vision, but also found an actionable way to create it. 

For our solution, XeoDev created a SaaS web application and selected AWS for hosting. Our software is designed to manage and organize documents based on their visual appearance as opposed to file identity information. 

Even though technology isn't my area of expertise, they helped me learn a lot throughout the process. When we realized I was going in the wrong direction, he helped me get the software and my mindset aligned with our goal to become more efficient.

David was my primary main point of contact. He assigned other resources to our project as well, but I don't know what their roles were. I would guess that the CEO did almost all of the work.

We worked together about six years ago in 2013.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The software XeoDev delivered exceeds what I ever imagined it could do. It works exactly as we intended it to. Using the product has increased our productivity considerably. We can accomplish projects that usually require an extensive timeframe within just 2–3 hours. The SaaS cuts down on the time required for certain document management processes by about 50%–70%.

I don't believe a system like ours had ever existed before XeoDev programmed it. Rather than just writing the software I requested, they thoughtfully considered how to further streamline the process I was trying to improve.

How did XeoDev perform from a project management standpoint?

XeoDev performed phenomenally from a project management standpoint. They responded to our questions and feedback appropriately and completed all their work on time and within the budget. 
 
Our main forms of communication were through phone and email. We met in person on many occasions and also used Trello to manage the project. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

On top of an underlying basis of full competency, XeoDev's creativity stood out to me the most. Knowledgeable and innovative, they went above and beyond simply following directions to improve the final product. 

The CEO was highly involved and interested throughout the whole process. He is amazingly insightful and thoughtful. I appreciate that he took the time to figure out what I truly wanted to accomplish. XeoDev completely outperformed our expectations.
