Wolfpack was brought on to support a large legacy system that was originally built in 2012 as we planned to sunset the platform while continuing to maintain it for existing clients/users. Key deliverables were continued monthly support to tackle the backlog of small improvements and bug fixes while helping support and analyze potential larger maintenance steps such as core system upgrades to support the sunset timeline.

Outcomes were difficult to define due to the absence of a fixed project timeline. However, success was measured by maintaining consistent platform uptime, ensuring a positive user and client experience, promptly addressing security issues, sustaining a reliable CI/CD pipeline, and preserving adequate test coverage levels.

Projects were handled promptly and delivered on time, requiring minimal input from our side. Timelines consistently aligned with initial estimates. The only limitation stemmed from the contract, which allowed jobs initiated at the end of a month’s allocation to roll into the following month.

I found it incredibly easy to work alongside the team as if they were just part of our organization and were very open to collaborating throughout the process from planning to execution.

Due to the nature of how our SDLC works we required planning ahead of time for when work was going to be done/released which we were able to work through together but likely should have been something discussed during the contracting.

Wolfpack Digital was chosen as a vendor to deliver a fully functioning platform for personality assessments (Backend and Frontend). We provided support to them with a dedicated Product Manager, a dedicated UX/UI designer and a dedicated business specialist. They were supposed to provide the development and project manager/Scrum master and QA.

We are a very experienced company and provided them with very clear specifications on what our expectations and requirements.

The price quoted paid for this product was extraodinarily high, but we agreed to proceed based on the assurances that it would be delivered in time with extraordinary quality, as speed and quality is more important to us than budget.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were promised a fully functional, fully QA'd platform to assess personality types according to our specifications. Wolfpack was supposed to provide a turnkey solution for the web development, project management and QA, and we provided them with product management and UX. They failed to deliver most of the epics and user stories that were requested from them.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Stay away from this company. They will demand payment without finishing their development and bugfixing, and hold your website hostage if you don't comply.

Are there any areas for improvement or something WOLFPACK DIGITAL SRL could have done differently?

We are an experienced SaaS company with a track record of over 14 years developing products. Since our internal development bandwith is stretched, we engaged wolfpack to develop one of our products. Things started out seemingly smooth, but what was delivered was very far from the definition of a product, or a minimum viable product.

It was far away from our agreed definition of "done". We received, 2 weeks after the initial agreed date for the delivery, a barely functioning demo that was full of heavy bugs and was obviously not QA'd, despite of having paid for 120 hours of QA. The product was unusable from a user perspective and accordingly we were unable to launch it.

Wolfpack initially showed some wiligness to rectify the issues, but it was soon evident that their lack of expertise, project management capacities and lack QA processes would result into everyone going in circles. This required our internal team to jump into the project to identify the full scope of the issues.

We had to assign an experienced developer, project manager and QA from our inhouse resources to help them fix the issues and reorganizing priorities so the project would not be further delayed. As progress was not done with the necessary speed, Wolfpack started to claim that the bug fixes were in fact "feature requests", and demanded payment despite holding a retainer.

When we (rightfully) refused to pay for what should be fixed as part of their commitment to the project, they not only refused to continue working, but cut our access to their production environment, effectively holding the project as a "hostage".

I have not seen such a situation in my 14 years of experience developing products with multiple of agencies. Unfortunately now we have no viable product, and we have no other option than to pursue our rights in a Romanian Court to try to recover our loss. I would suggest anyone who is thinking of engaging them to think twice, so as to not fall into the same situation.

It’s unfortunate that our collaboration has reached this point, especially with a significant unpaid balance from your end for services we’ve provided. Our team depends on timely payments to continue their hard work, as outlined in our mutually agreed-upon contract.

Moreover, respectful and constructive communication is vital for any cross-team collaboration. The ongoing threat of negative reviews creates an imbalanced and unfair dynamic, which doesn’t foster success. Aggressive language directed at our team demotivates and disrupts their ability to focus, leading to inefficiencies rather than improvements. Despite our efforts to clarify these issues, a mutual agreement was not reached.

As for our team’s dedication, they have gone above and beyond, with experienced developers being allocated on your project and responding to requests even outside of business hours. Additionally, your requests for scope changes and third-party integrations extended the timeline, which is expected in an agile development environment.

We believe a win-win approach to conflict resolution could have been achieved through mutual understanding. We remain open to dialogue and hope for a fair resolution while wishing both sides better experiences moving forward.

This is my first time interacting with our platform, so when I scan the physical product’s NFC chip, i’m taken to a Profile onboarding flow in my mobile browser. I set up my profile, including my username, which then is recorded in the platform’s database and as a URL parameter.
• Sync my physical product’s NFC chip to my profile page, so anyone can easily scan the chip, and bring up my profile on their mobile device, make it easy to share information about myself. In my Profile, I can see the physical products that I’ve paired to my account, and I select the physical product I want to redirect to my profile URL upon subsequent scans (anyone can scan to bring up the profile URL on their device), and click ‘Pair’.

Partnering on a project from start to finish, Wolf Pack Digital was engaged from the start by supporting the pitching process. They supported the pitching of certain gamification elements to the end client, by providing research on AR/VR, gamification tactics, estimating, timeline planning, etc. Wolf Pack Digital's attention to detail during the development phase and their project/relationship management are stellar. 

They delivered a mobile app, on time and budget, for IOS and android. It was developed to spec against our design and they supported the onsite activation. We are already working on another App for a different brand that utilizes social gamification tactics to drive content engagement. Points systems, rewards, community newsfeeds, leaderboards are among some of the tactics used to drive content engagement and knowledge retention. 

I have plans to bring them in on a few other projects as well. I believe the key to great work and innovation is building partnerships. That is why we call Wolf Pack Digital our partner, and not a vendor.

I wish there was an easy to access 'total hours spent' project tracker. They are adding that to their project tracker after I asked for it. :) Occasionally I felt like things went a little slower due to us not having a full time design resource, but it was cheaper, and we were slow on things on our end so it worked out.

I wanted a prototype on my phone earlier, but I didn't know I wanted it earlier until I had it, so not really Wolfpacks fault. :) Maybe in the future ask the client if they want a super rough prototype in a few weeks? but of course hindsight is 20/20

We built a prototype of our application on shared spreadsheets and had worked out most of the key processes that were needed, and we reached out to Wolfpack Digital to translate what we had built into a web application.

We knew we needed a development team that not only could meet our business process requirements, but also had the capacity to make a beautiful and intuitive UI and UX. I spoke with their team and met one of their developers, shared our business processes, and over a few meetings, I gained a confidence that this team could meet all of our requirements.

We used PostgresSQL, Vue.Js, and hosted on AWS. This was developed on a staging server and we were updated with each new release. Wolfpack Digital took and incorporated all of our feedback. They maintained a patience while many processes and interfaces required several rounds of development, feedback, development, feedback, etc.

I believe we had 4 developers at our peak. We also had a dedicated designer and project manager, which was very helpful.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our primary concern was that our development team would actually get the project across the finish line and launch. We have heard many stories where projects were abandoned midway through. If that happened to us, it would have been completely devastating.

I was assured at the outset that Wolfpack Digital would see this project through, no matter what. There were challenging and frustrating times for sure, which is probably true for all projects, and I am happy to report, that Woflpack never wavered in their commitment to me to make sure this project was completed.

Wolfpack Digital made use of video conferencing, design software that we could comment on, and access to the staging site so we could also do our own QA, (in addition to their QA team). We had sometimes 2 meetings a week. They were always on time and always had something to deliver.

They didn't give up, no matter how hard or frustrating the process was. They also really care about the quality of their work and they have a pride in their work that shines through.

I think everyone wants their project done faster, and cheaper. But getting a functioning and well designed project is what really counts.

Novum Bank Limited was incorporated and licenced to operate as a credit institution. The bank licence provides a broad range of banking services. The bank has two lines of products, card/store value and micro-lending. I am the product owner for the credit cards project, being in charge of the development and delivery of the product.

For what projects/services did your company hire Wolfpack Digital, and what were your goals?

We started the collaboration with Wolfpack Digital for the native mobile application on iOS and Android. The goals were to launch the MVP of the mobile app for the credit card product on Q II of 2022 and to continue with the development and release of the rest of functionalities.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have done a market research to find out the best companies that offer mobile app development and we chose this vendor based on their past projects and their experience in finance products.

We had several meetings to discuss the scope of the project based on the requirements and wireframes provided by us. Wolfpack team started with the design and after it has been approved by the bank they continued with the app development which started with iOS and followed by Android.

There was a close collaboration between the mobile team and the backend team from Novum, including weekly meetings for discussion technical implementation and demo meeting. The MVP was launched according to the planning and the work continued for the rest of the functionalities as push notifications, device enrollment, analytics, etc.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

A project manager has been assigned to our project who has coordinated everything (the scope of the project, the communication, etc) in a very efficient way. There was a designer who created all the screens and took care of the user experience. For the mobile app development we had worked at the beginning with two senior developers (one for iOS and one for Android) and after that other two junior developers have been also assigned. An account manager has been also assigned.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have launched the product and it is being used by our customers. The development is still ongoing for new functionalities which require a lot of work and a good collaboration between the teams.

The communication has been very effective, including weekly calls, direct conversations on Slack and emails. The Wolfpack team was really involved in achieving the goals and provided all the necessary technical support. In all the timelines have been reached and everything that has been requested was delivered.

They have understood the project needs very fast and always came with the best solutions. Also the management is very good.
