We looked at a couple of different options for us. There are a couple of no-code and low-code builders out there that we considered early on, but they just didn’t meet our needs. That’s when we decided to look at a custom shop to help us build out our application. We looked at probably half a dozen different developer teams and The AT&T Software LLC team had some of the best reviews and more competitive prices for what we were trying to achieve.

The AT&T Software LLC built the entire mobile platform, both front-and-backend, for us from the ground up. They completed the coding and the application was completely customized. The application is for both iOS and Android devices and then they gave us the backend for the administration of the application. The iOS version is completely finished and the Android version is on the Play Store, but there were a couple of bugs to go back and fix. It’s in review with Google now, so it should be done shortly. We have an ongoing maintenance service contract with them for at least the next year.

Rishi (Project Manager) is our main point of contact, but there are probably between 6–10 people.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Without The AT&T Software LLC, we never would have been able to get our application out, especially with the high quality that they offer. The UI of the application is fantastic and I think it’s above and beyond what we had initially envisioned for the MVP.

They use Activecollab for project management and we use WhatsApp to communicate informally. For more formal communication, we communicate through active collaboration.

I’m very impressed with their ability to solve problems. We had some features that were relatively unique and they were able to achieve that on both iOS and Android devices and make them both work seamlessly. They never once couldn’t do something.

We didn’t get the app out as quickly as we would have liked but that was sort of due to us and our own experience. There were some delays.

What challenge were you trying to address with AT&T Software LLC?
I wanted to find someone reliable that could sit down with me to listen to my requirements and help me develop my website.
The site needed to be a directory where business owners could put up their profiles and have testimonials, information about their business, and content, and they could create customizable coupon offerings any time.
On this site, customers could come and download as many coupons as they want to have them on their mobile devices or print them.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
AT&T Software LLC is helping me create my WordPress website with multiple functionalities. For the coupon system, they had to work on custom coding. With this functionality, business owners can change the coupon’s color, add a barcode, add custom information, and create a QR code within the coupon. There’s also a lot of other custom coding involved to make the site run as we want.
One of our concerns was the site’s capability of sustaining millions of users. The CEO told me that they’ll do testing and adjust what’s necessary to be sure that the site works correctly. They’ve given me options and solutions along the way.
We’re at the tail end of developing the site. Next, we’re going to get into social media and digital marketing. We’re also looking into developing Android and iOS apps within the next few months.

How did you come to work with AT&T Software LLC?
I went through eight development companies and six websites over the last seven months. I realized that the people that didn’t take the time to sit and talk to me weren’t going to produce anything, so I kept looking for other providers.
I found AT&T Software on a vendor reviews site. I had an interview process with them that went really well. The CEO sat down with me to talk, clearly got the direction that I was going, and understood exactly what I wanted.
How much have you invested with them?
My original quote was for around $3,500. AT&T Software is really fair. They gave me a quote and have stuck to it. If I need additional work like SEO or marketing that is outside the scope of work of developing the site, they give me a quote on it at a fair price.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around the beginning of March 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The people that have seen our site love it. They think it’s completely different from what we had, and it is phenomenal. It works great, looks great, and is appealing — it’s all we needed.
The CEO created the vision of what I had in my mind about how the site should look and function. I’m really grateful to them — I can’t ask for more.
Before our engagement, I was feeling disappointed and exhausted from going through so many vendors and still have our site not working. Now, I can see the light, and I’m excited about this project again.

The CEO is a very good communicator, and we have a lot of communication because I’m very meticulous about who I want my website to function and look like.

I have a clear vision of what I want, and sometimes, I’m just nit-picking on certain details. The CEO is very patient about that. I can’t think of anything AT&T Software could improve on. I’m pleased with their work, and the project has gone as well as it could have.

Have strong communication with AT&T Software because you only get what you put into it. If you’re not communicating, don’t expect them to understand what you really want.
Additionally, have a clear vision of your project beforehand and stick to it. If necessary, draw mock-ups and have a series of slide presentations with each of the screens to communicate exactly what you want. A lot of people go into projects not knowing what they want.

They gave me ways to develop the app that would make it easy for the drivers. They developed our mobile app for both Android and iOS. It’s a plugin that’s installed on our e-commerce marketplace.
Once the app is integrated with the marketplace, the driver can download the app. When the customer orders a product, all the drivers of that area receive a notification on their app. They accept the delivery and pick from the vendors. Then, they go to the customer and deliver the product. Once the product is delivered, they’ll receive that their product was delivered in their account.

I wanted the project to end sooner but there was scope-creep. It was challenging to integrate the extra scope, but it worked out in the end.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
As of the moment, there’s none because I haven’t done any marketing on the project and it’s not even in full work yet. Although, I personally use the tests and they’ve done a really good job on it. With concerns to the backend, as a person who’s not a coder, it’s really easy to use. Generally, they’re good and honest people.
How did AT&T Software perform from a project management standpoint?
The communication is really good and the deadlines are always met. It’s more on my end as I always want to get information on time. Nonetheless, things are completed when they said it would.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very communicative and talented in WordPress development and coding. I tried doing this project with multiple people in the past, and they are the only ones who can actually do the job.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could improve on their response time. I mean they’re good, and it could just be me, because I’m always doing a hundred different things so I take a while to respond as well.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice would be to prepare everything that you need upfront, be super clear, tell them your expectations, and they’ll get it done. Just be as clear as possible.

We hired AT&T Software to work on development tasks, such as backend coding, database work, and things like that.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
The main deliverable is a platform. AT&T Software does most of the work that I don’t have time for and things that I’m not capable of doing coding-wise. A big part of the platform is a commenting structure. There’s a trading log project, and there will be future projects, too.
I’m under an obligation not to give too much information on the project since it hasn’t launched yet. However, the platform's purpose is related to our goal of providing transparent information about markets, stock picks, and other information at the bare minimum cost.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact is the CEO.
How did you come to work with AT&T Software LLC?
I had a friend who worked with AT&T before. I got his contact information, and we had a couple of meetings. After some back-and-forth conversations, I decided to hire them.

We use no metrics, and the feedback is more along the lines of functionality. The product has not launched yet, but I think it will be successful.

He’s very responsive in terms of communication and everything. We use Zoom to do conferences and WhatsApp to message back and forth.
What did you find most impressive about them?
AT&T Software is our third developer for this project, and I’m very impressed with how they’re able to go about it. It's not easy. We’ve brought in two developers before, but they were not qualified to complete the project. At first, I wasn’t even sure if AT&T Software was going to complete it, but they haven’t let me down.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t. The work has been good, and I have no complaints. Every project is different. Our project is complicated, and I think we underestimated the timescale of it. There’s a lot of functions going on, and you can’t simply speed up the process at all.
