I’m the CEO of Unique Venues, an online director of unique meeting and event venues in the U.S. and Canada. We connect meeting and event planners with unique spaces.
What challenge were you trying to address with WebiMax?
Since most professional meeting and event planners find and select venues online, we needed to make sure we were organically present in every major market in keyword searches.
What was the scope of their involvement?
WebiMax helped us develop a real integrated digital content marketing plan that was very multi-faceted. We built up our blog content and made sure we were doing press releases. We were developing infographics and being guest writers on other blogs.
The team gave us a really comprehensive approach to building our organic presence and helped us to develop paid ad campaign content as a secondary approach. They helped us also gain our presence on social media platforms as well.
We manage our social platforms but they helped us develop a content plan that we then implemented. They also assisted with some of the writing of the content and provided a contracted amount of content every month that we used on our social.
Finally, WebiMax helped us to improve our social presence just like really developing a better online presence through our social channels.
What is the team composition?
We contracted with Ed (Director of Business Development). Even Ken (CEO) showed concern which I find interesting because they’re not a small company compared to us. If we ever needed something, he would jump in and help us out too.
There was always a client manager who was our point of contact as well as someone assigned to us for consistency purposes. In some cases, they worked directly on the deliverables for our contract and other times were using others within WebiMax but managing those people.
How did you come to work with WebiMax?
We did a very thorough search. It was a three-month process for us. We read reviews for different companies and scoured their websites before sending an RFP.
We interviewed 10 companies and had five of them do presentations. What I really like about WebiMax’s approach is that Ed didn’t just get us to sign onto the contract and renew our contracts. He has always been available to us.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $350,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2014 and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
WebiMax was fast out of the gate to help us. We started seeing a serious decline in our traffic which was one of the other reasons that led us to go on a search and get rid of our last company.
Within six months, they were able to get us back to where we had been prior to the decline. We identified, through score carding, the marketplaces where we felt we had an opportunity to grow or where we needed to have first-page presence organically.
In our top 25 markets, in our keyword searches, we are on the first page organically of all searches. Our leads were growing on average significantly. Pre-COVID, our searches increased by about 20% year over year. That would correlate with the lead growth as well. It was because of a higher, greater presence.
How did WebiMax perform from a project management standpoint?
I felt they were really responsive to ideas and concerns. Nothing is ever perfect. There were times we weren’t necessarily getting the results we needed and they’d work to pivot with us and that was fantastic. We used email and received very thorough reports from them through Basecamp.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I can’t think of a time where we brought up a concern where they didn’t solve the issue for us. That means a lot to me. Sometimes companies have a very scripted way of working with each and every client and they’re not individualized to the needs of a client.
What I liked about WebiMax is I felt like they treated us uniquely. They listened to me when I said we have to be different because we’re this way. I feel they honored and respected that.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nobody is perfect. I feel they always accomplished what was set out to be accomplished. They always got the job done. Sometimes I felt it could have been a little bit more timely.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They’re really relationship-oriented as a company. What drives success for WebiMax is the actual relationship they have with the client. You have to be open to shipbuilding with them as opposed to them being a contractor and just getting the work done. They look at it as a partnership.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
Cruise America RV Rental and Sales is the largest North American RV rental company. We have 130 locations in Canada and the US, and we cater primarily to the international market. However, the business has been fully domestic in 2020 and 2021. We rent motorhomes for camping and all other sorts of purposes.
I’m the national customer care manager for the company. I oversee traveler assistance, the online reputation management department, the customer relations department, and anything and everything related to customer experience.
What challenge were you trying to address with WebiMax?
We needed software that would allow us to survey customers and respond to them on one platform. We’re present on over 400 websites that aggregate reviews and allow us to interact with customers, including Google, Square, and so on. It was time-consuming for employees to log into these portals one at a time and address reviews.
We have an in-house IT department, but it was less costly and more effective for us to partner with someone than build the software ourselves.
What was the scope of their involvement?
WebiMax helps us aggregate customer feedback. They have a technology that allows us to aggregate all reviews on one platform and push responses to the correct website, which saves us a lot of time.
For a company of our size, customers typically post organically when they’re not happy, but they won’t tell us that they’ve had a great trip unless we ask them. This is what WebiMax’s drip campaign is for. They tailored a campaign solely for us on their platform, and they’ve changed a few features for us.
We provide them with a data table of our clients, including email addresses and so on, and they push emails and texts, which can include QR codes. They also provide competition analysis, so we can know what our competitors are doing on the same platform.
What is the team composition?
We’ve chatted a few times with Ken (Founder & CEO). Stan (Business Development Manager) set up our account, and Ed (Director of Business Development) is our primary contact there. We’re working with a few other individuals — mainly account managers — in their organization.
How did you come to work with WebiMax?
We spent time with a lot of other companies to see what they had to offer, and we picked WebiMax because of their relatively small size and customer focus. WebiMax also offered a lot of automation, which we thought was neat.
I did online research to educate myself on the process of review aggregation. I discovered multiple ways of requesting Google reviews, such as by using CRMs like HubSpot that could do the push for us. There are also companies that offer the use of their platforms for a monthly fee, but we’d have to do pushes and take care of everything else.
Other platforms we looked at would own our content; if we left, the reviews wouldn’t be ours, and we wouldn’t be able to interact with anything new that got posted on the platform. Also, other platforms only allow a certain number of responses per day, which would’ve been impractical for a company of our size — we get a lot of reviews, even organically. WebiMax didn’t pose those types of restrictions. Also, any review we get through the WebiMax platform is ours to own forever. We can leave the partnership with a 30-day notice, so no harm done.
How much have you invested with them?
WebiMax offers custom-made services, and there’s no contract, which is great. We've paid $4,000 a month at times; in other months, we paid $1,000. I think we’re paying $1,650 at the moment.
The cost depends on what we want to do. Online reputation is like marketing; it’s always a moving target. The total cost so far has been $100,000–$125,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with WebiMax in April 2019. The campaign is growing, and we’ve augmented our partnership in January 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our average online score on Google was previously 3.2, and it’s now 3.9. Our review count has skyrocketed. For our Phoenix location, we had 130 Google reviews, with a star rating of 3.6. As of today, we have 509 reviews and a 4.4 average rating — we’re up by almost a full star.
The important factor is the number of reviews, because that directly influences the purchasing behavior of the customer. An overwhelming number of decisions are made based on peer review, and it’s all online now. People determine a company’s trustworthiness based on their review count and star rating, so what WebiMax has done for us is huge.
How did WebiMax perform from a project management standpoint?
We have regular calls, weekly meets, and monthly updates. They’re not corporate robots; they’re very personable. When we have a business call with them, we get a sense of fellowship. There’s good chemistry between our two companies.
We communicate through text, email, and phone. They’re always available, even on holidays; I can even talk to them at 9 p.m. on Sundays.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Compared to the other companies we looked at, WebiMax is a smaller entity and fits our business better. We’re a mid-sized company, and so is WebiMax.
They’ve expressed a desire to use our product, which is always a plus. Doing business with a company that’s not using the partner’s product isn’t ideal. The flexibility of their agreement is also worth mentioning. We can walk away within 30 days if things change.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There are some handicaps because of their size. The platform is fantastic, but WebiMax’s competitors have more capital. WebiMax’s platform is a bit more user-friendly, and, for the cost, this partnership is optimal.
We’ve looked elsewhere now and then, because we have to keep costs in mind and see what the next best thing is, but WebiMax is very flexible with us, even on pricing. They understood our situation during the pandemic, and they helped us out in terms of cost for a few months, in return for longevity on the agreement. It was a handshake agreement.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Each company is different, and each need is different. I understand that WebiMax is more of an SEO and PPC type of company, and there are a lot of companies that provide those services. We handle SEO and PPC in-house.
Clients should see if their needs are compatible with WebiMax’s online reputation services. I’d recommend doing their homework.

I’m the chief design officer of a custom window covering and treatment company. We service a 35-mile radius in and around Washington, DC. Customers can call to schedule in-home consultations with one of our designers. Then, we custom-make the blinds or shades and install them.
What challenge were you trying to address with WebiMax?
We needed help with small, local business marketing. Our target audience is people in the Washington, DC area who need window coverings.
What was the scope of their involvement?
WebiMax helps with SEO. They also do Google Ads. The team has created a strategy that outlines how much we’re going to invest in advertising to get the results we want. They focus on lead generation and targeting a specific audience. They also create content.
What is the team composition?
We work with four people. One person just does the SEO; he’s very detailed. Another person does the advertising and creates landing pages. John (Business Development Manager) oversees the whole project. Finally, another person helps us with the CRM and provides support.
How did you come to work with WebiMax?
We weren’t happy with the marketing company that we had, so I did research on Google and started reading reviews. I interviewed three different companies, and on my first call with WebiMax, I just felt really confident in them.
They sounded like they knew what they were doing, and they explained their services really well. I’m not very familiar with some marketing terms, but they were very patient and helped me understand what they’d actually be doing. They had a proposal within a day or two. Everything just felt very professional, and I knew what to expect.

We’ve spent $15,000–$18,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in January 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We just started working with them two weeks ago, but we’re really happy. We previously worked with a different marketing company, and we only got six leads through Google or social media over a three-month period. Additionally, most of those leads were nonqualified.
Within the first week of working with WebiMax, we received six qualified leads. They’re qualified leads because we’ve scheduled consultations or sold our services to all six of them. We were shocked that WebiMax delivered results as soon as we turned on marketing. We paid the same amount of money to our previous marketing company, if not a bit more, and they didn't deliver.
WebiMax helped us determine that we shouldn’t use Facebook as a marketing tool because it wasn’t delivering the quality leads we wanted. It was initially a bit daunting to move away from using Facebook, but it makes a lot of sense now, and we’re a lot happier. We’re not spending our time with nonqualified leads. Receiving more qualified leads tells me that WebiMax’s services are working.
How did WebiMax perform from a project management standpoint?
We have meetings on a weekly or as-needed basis to clarify questions, go over how things are going, or review our budget and strategy. We also communicate via email or phone call — they’re very involved.
WebiMax provides access to a web portal, on which we can see how our ads are performing and how much we’re spending. We also have access to Google My Business. We weren't privy to any of the analytics or accounts with our previous provider, so I couldn’t see what was happening.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their transparency and communication distinguish them. Anyone can do advertising or provide SEO solutions, but if they can’t communicate, it’s difficult to see the value in those services. WebiMax is great at delivering what they tell you they will deliver.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It’s only been a couple of weeks, so I don’t have anything that I feel they could improve on yet.
Any advice for potential customers?
Be transparent about what your business does and communicate that to WebiMax. We’ve given them a lot of information about what we do so that they can better understand us. Once they can see the value in your business, they can maximize their advertising efforts, from targeting certain audiences to creating specific types of content.

I’m a manager of regional propane company just outside Philadelphia.
What challenge were you trying to address with WebiMax?
WebiMax was brought on to help with our website’s SEO. Prior to them, we were working with another company and initially saw some okay results. Then after a few years, those results were declining.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They’re strictly for SEO portion of our web presence. They did keyword research, managed metatags and metadata, and created a backlink strategy. They also had to do a lot of clean up for what the previous channel had done. For example, we had some invalid backlinks from our previous engagement. Here and there, they helped on little projects like updating our web pages.
They’ve worked hand in hand with our development company to make sure the site is optimized properly.
We’ve tried advertising products as well.

We’ve always had contact with a project manager, and at times, other members of the team were brought on to make sure we were on the same page.

We rank nationally in a few good terms. We also rank regionally.
We’re in a tough industry because our products are very priced-drive. WebiMax had helped us get phone calls into the office so we can have conversations with customers and convince them to do business with us.
Our territory has grown over the years, in part to their help on the website. As a result, we’ve expanded our reach.
The ads we tried didn’t attract the best clients, but that wasn’t WebiMax’s fault. I think that mostly had to do with the industry we’re in so we didn’t get a return on our investment. We’ve also tried PPC with other firms and it didn’t work then either.
How did WebiMax perform from a project management standpoint?
They do the job well. We’re pretty critical here, so there’s always room for improvement. If you were to ask me on a scale of 1–10, I’d give them a nine.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’ve taken our website, which had really stalled, and were able to turn it around. They offer various products and a trial period, and they’re very upfront with us. When we tried PPC with them, they were transparent that it probably wasn’t a good fit, rather than pressuring us to continue testing.

No. Any growing concerns we’ve had, we’ve been able to have a conversation with them and they’ve addressed it.

Work with them and put the effort tin on your side. They do a good job, but you will know your business better than they do.

We were trying to rank for specific keywords that our customers use to search.
What was the scope of their involvement?
It was a lot of link building and optimizing the content on our website to make sure the site is SEO friendly, has the right keywords, and is easy for Google to read. They also guide us on best practices for blogging and thing we can do to help ourselves rank higher.
They’re not strictly SEO, so we have asked for their opinion on PPC and helping us with some of those ideas, as well as web design and social media.
