At the end of the project, we received a detailed CRM audit from Kitty with actions that needed to be completed by the team. This was really helpful because it was so clear what needed to be done and how that should be executed.

Because it was a project, we met on an ad hoc basis, but during our calls, the team asked lots of questions about what our CRM system is, and they were keen to understand the logic behind how it was set up. This was really helpful, especially because it made the final CRM audit from Kitty so detailed.

I’m a department head at a rail transportation company. We manage railway infrastructure and property projects focused on railways.

We needed a new website to tell our story and provide information about our services. Our company had undergone some restructuring, and we had a relatively new brand, so we didn’t have our own website. We wanted to stand out as a different option in a traditional industry.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We Are Kitty designed and developed our website from scratch using WordPress. They designed the site according to our brand guidelines. Our requirements included an innovative and fresh design that adhered to those corporate guidelines. 

Internally, we were under pressure to turn the project around quickly when we weren’t ready to launch the full website, so We Are Kitty suggested a holding page as an interim measure. They designed and developed this holding page with a similar look and feel to the new website. Once We Are Kitty was ready to launch the full site, that domain became our full website. 

Additionally, their SEO team ensured that the site was optimized and advised us on best practices. We Are Kitty gave us recommendations about hosting platforms.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We Are Kitty did a fantastic job interpreting our brand guidelines and pushing the boundaries to achieve our innovative design goal while keeping the corporate image. Our brand team is very strict, and they immediately signed off on We Are Kitty’s design, which was great. 

The site won an award for web design and build in the transportation category, which was a great outcome for us and for We Are Kitty. Moreover, the holding page helped us keep our executive team happy because we had an online presence before the website’s development was finished. 

The feedback from our international hubs has been very positive due to the site’s ease of navigation. Now, we get inquiries to the site as users fill out our form, so we know the site is working. The website has become a really good reference we can point our customers to because users can see we’re doing something different. We didn’t have a benchmark going in because it was a completely new site, so we don’t have quantitative metrics. 

How did We Are Kitty perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very flexible and worked with changing deadlines. The team was always ready with suggestions on how to approve things and happy to take our direction, especially on things that were non-negotiable for us. They could have finished the website sooner, but there were delays on our side.

We Are Kitty was always available, responsive, and happy to get involved in updating anyone I needed them to. For example, they helped me communicate technical aspects to justify the design when I needed to submit it for branding approval. They were very supportive and helped us get the right messages across internally. Overall, we had a great working relationship with We Are Kitty and very positive progress. 

As for communication tools, I prefer using email to keep track of communication, so We Are Kitty emailed us weekly reports. We also had a minimum of one call a week through Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Sometimes, we had additional calls as the project neared completion. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve worked on website builds with other companies, and they’re challenging projects because many stakeholders are involved. Overall, I was really happy with We Are Kitty’s service; they were very professional and kept us updated. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wouldn’t change anything about the way We Are Kitty worked. If anything, they had a small team, and although this didn’t impact our project, getting more designers and project managers could help them grow. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be as open as possible in your communication and about your challenges. I was transparent with We Are Kitty about our strict approval process, which helped them tailor their work to ensure we could make our stakeholders happy.

Work with them as a partner, not an agency — they’re very professional. I shared confidential information with them, and even though they signed an NDA, having that close relationship with the We Are Kitty team helped because they could support me better.

We Are Kitty has been helping us with paid media activity, SEO, keyword research, and website content services — we’ve been expanding the scope of work as our partnership continues. To jumpstart the project, we gave them a brief of our brand guidelines, our value within the marketplace, and what we needed in terms of cost per acquisition and innovative campaigns.

They focus the strategies we make collaboratively on delivering quality and cost-effective FTDs (First Time Deposits)  that can bring high-level ROI. Regarding the SEO portion of the project, we aim to have the best practices relative to the market and localized strategic approaches because we’re in 24 countries with four distinct languages. Each country has a different public, and they’re optimizing their campaigns accordingly. For the content supply side, they’re working with us to have the best content team to support us with our daily activities.

WordPress is the ideal CMS for us as it is easy for the team to use, is great for SEO and reliable.

We work in the sports industry, which is ever-changing, and our team needs to act quickly. We Are Kitty has developed a unique, high-quality tool that has saved our content team considerable time.

I’m the head of public fundraising for Starlight Children’s Foundation. We’re a children’s charity that provides play and distraction activities to seriously ill children in hospitals across the UK. I’m responsible for marketing to the needs of the organization and encouraging the public to take part in specific types of community or challenge events.

We’re typically an organization that would derive a lot of our income through a direct mail appeal. However, it became really evident that the digital function of our fundraising needed a lot of work, so we needed to ramp up our presence on digital platforms.

We Are Kitty helped us become a conduit of insight and storytelling so the public could know more about how they can help the situation. They’ve been instrumental in putting stories together and creating fundraising events through our social media channels. 

The work that they do is mostly focused on strategic planning, and an example of what they do is utilize and maximize our stories by publishing them to the right channel. This gives context to the needs, and it becomes an opportunity for users to click and make a positive impact.

Moreover, We Are Kitty upscales and trains our team so we can develop and implement necessary skills in-house.

We Are Kitty is actually owned by a friend of mine who went to the same university I did. We had a conversation with them about delivering pro-bono work from the service delivery side around storytelling and using Google Voice — so there was already a sense of familiarity between our organizations.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We saw a 300% increase in our income on the back of the initial campaign we worked with them, which is huge. Because of that, we were able to develop and diversify our children’s play kits with isolation packs. These packs enable a child to be taken through a specific type of treatment or procedure. 

This is important because it diminishes the chances of a child catching COVID-19, so we’re able to ramp up and deliver our services three times the amount we would typically deliver.

We Are Kitty serves more of an advisory role, so the effort is more collaborative. Our partnership feels very fluid and organic, and I think it’s because they really understand our organization. Furthermore, their expertise really complements our needs, so they’re able to guide us throughout our marketing campaigns from a creative perspective.

What did you find most impressive about them?

From a personal perspective, we like that they believe in what we’re trying to achieve. We Are Kitty is passionate about helping seriously ill children in hospitals so culturally, there’s a sense of our values aligning.

I don’t want to try and make them sound perfect, but regarding this situation we found ourselves in, I don’t think they could’ve done anything differently. They react when we need them, and they always deliver.

A lot of organizations bring in third-party developers and expect them to already know what they need to do. My advice is to go in and realize what you want to achieve so you can provide clarity to the project. Make sure you understand your targets and why they support you so once you have the right information, you’ll be able to tell the correct type of story for your goals.

I’m the founder and director of Big Grin Distillery, a company based in Burford, Oxfordshire. We’ve started the business because of the lockdown. We Are Kitty has aligned themselves with our needs, and they’ve assigned a developer that has been able to deliver our site quickly so that we can utilize it during Christmas sales. The team's bold and creative designs have allowed them to produce an attractive site that shows off who we want to be as a brand. They’ve also been able to create what we had envisioned in under four weeks — which is pretty unbelievable.

With their support, we’ve had over 1,500 visitors and a 30% increase in sales within the first month after launch. There has also been a 2.5% conversion in the first two months, which is 39% higher than the UK average. For SEO, our company’s name has been quite widely used. As a result, we’ve managed to get on top of all search results within a couple of weeks. Overall, We Are Kitty has been a perfect partner for us, and they’ve established a nice and clean user journey that allowed us to connect with our target audience.

Excalibur Healthcare Services Limited began operating early last year. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we realized that we needed to get medical devices and protection out to the public. As a result, we created XP21 as a subsidiary to provide the public with high levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety protection.

We needed an e-commerce platform that could handle B2C transactions. Our main goal was to have a professional website designed as quickly as possible.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a few documents prepared at the beginning of the partnership, but We Are Kitty mainly did all the discovery for us. We also had big design sessions, which allowed us to adapt the branding of the parent company into our new business. 

We Are Kitty designed the frontend of our BigCommerce site, and they helped us developed an effective customer journey. After that, they designed the backend and integrated tools such as Salesforce. Additionally, they helped us integrate a payment system called Stripe.

After they created our site, the team explained how to set everything up and how we could utilize the platform. They also helped us create content and post images on the site’s frontend, and they continue to support our site.

We’re collaborating with an account manager, project manager, technical developer, designer, and business lead.

We reached out to some people within our own company and spoke about what we wanted to do. We Are Kitty’s name was raised then. After that, we got in touch and they made their brilliant pitch. They said that they could create our website as quickly as possible and for a really stripped-back price compared to what we were seeing from other companies. Ultimately, we went with them.

Our ongoing work began in May 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since we wanted to have our platform up and running quickly, we didn’t ask for any specific features. However, We Are Kitty has brought their own imagination to speedily develop our platform. On top of that, they’ve been helpful in recommending features for the site.

In the end, they’ve delivered a well-made site within six weeks. They’ve also ensured that we can be part of the emerging PPE market. Within a few months of launching, we’ve made just under £500,000 (approximately $680,000 USD) on the website and we couldn’t have done that without their work. Since our company has grown a lot, we're going to bring all tech efforts in-house. However, we still plan to reach out to them if we need their help

Since we work remotely, we communicate via email, phone, and Zoom. We Are Kitty has great communication skills, and they’ve been very transparent throughout the engagement. They take their time to go through things with us, and we can reach them whenever we need them. I’m not the most technical person, so overseeing this project has been a bit daunting, but We Are Kitty has ensured that I feel confident in every step that I take.

I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Clients & candidates alike are extremely impressed with the new brand and new site and this has manifested itself in only 2 months in a sharp increase in enquiries and ultimately placement conversions.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Everyone was extremely capable and critically for us Kitty were able to produce an amazing looking site that was fully SEO optimised which not all stand alone web designers can achieve as unlike Kitty they don't have an accompanying digital marketing agency.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Not at all.
