The National Network for Children is an umbrella non-for-profit uniting 150 civic organizations working with and for children and families across the country. Promoting and protecting the rights of the child are the key principles that unite us.

We believe that all policies and practices that directly or indirectly affects children should be developed, implemented and monitored, taking into account the principle of the best interests of children and the active involvement of children and young people themselves. I am the Communications and Campaigns Director at the Secretariat of the National Network for Children

For what projects/services did your company hire Inveitix?

Violence against children is a phenomenon that exists in every country, community, ethnic or religious group, irrespective of the social status of the child or the family. It happens everywhere: at home, at the kindergarten, out in the street, among friends, in child care facilities, at law enforcement institutions, etc.

Children become victims to different forms of violence and abuse: physical, psychological, sexual, bullying, online, neglect, trafficking, sexual and labor exploitation, or arranged child marriages. That is why we wanted a platform so we can create more awareness and combat the violence against children in Bulgaria.

What were your goals for this project?

Development and promotion of policies for children and families; Promotion of informational and awareness campaigns aiming to change society's attitudes towards the rights of the child to live in a world without violence; Development and implementation of a model for child and youth participation; National Network for Children's public image enhancement and development of the organizational capacity and external communications.

We have worked with Inveitix the year before on a different project. We were satisfied by their work and that is why we decided to work with them again.

The EndViolence.nmd.bg platform was created to gather and make available various resources related to the topic of violence prevention and assistance to children affected by violence and their families in different areas and situations of their lives.

The online platform brings together children, parents, teachers and schools, social workers, psychologists, non-governmental organizations, governmental structures and institutions - anyone who is interested or in need of help on the topic. Inveitix developed the website using WordPress. They made custom implementations such as plugins and other functionalities.

We hired one software developer and the project management was on their side.

This project helped us spread our mission and create awareness for the violence against children.

Inveitix provided initial training about using and administrating the website but this can be improved as a process.

The Applied Research and Communications Fund (ARC Fund) is a renowned Bulgarian NGO established in 1991. Since 2005, it has been coordinating the Safer Internet Centre (SIC) in Bulgaria operating a safer internet Hotline and a consulting Helpline for children.

It already provides digital and media literacy trainings and tools for children, parents, and teachers. I am project officer at the organization, doing both research and trainings related to its mission.

For what projects/services did your company hire Inveitix?

We hired Invetix for creating a comprehensive mobile application tool for training 7-to-15-old children about the major online risks and their respective preventative measures in an interactive and a gamified way that has a direct link to the Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre's helpline.

What were your goals for this project?

The goals of the project were to raise awareness about the major online risks among 7-15-year old children and empower them to use effective preventative measures for mitigating those risks.

At the same time, we want to encourage children to actively seek support from the consultants of the Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre and from trusted adults, such as parents and teachers in an effective and a fun way.

How did you select this vendor?

Invetix is unique in Bulgaria in that it both has competative expertise in developing mobile applications and it consists of employees that have experience and are motivated to work with children.

This project required a profound understanding of the target group (7-15 year old children), so that the mobile app was both educational and engaging. Inverix was the natural choice.

We achieved our objectives in four steps:

1. Development of the first of its kind mobile application for safe internet use in Bulgaria.
2. Provision of a comprehansive gamified tool for recognizing the major online risks and their corresponding preventative measures.
3. Involvement of peer-to-peer child trainers and teacher facilitators from 2 Bulgarian schools in in the dissemination of positive online content in a supportive and cooperative way.
4. Direct connection between children and expert consultants about online safety.

Three PHP developers and two online safety experts.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since launch the Safenet App has become one of the Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre's major tools for training children about online safety.

It has also proven to be extremely effective peer-to-peer training tool, as it has been used in 10 schools for training more than 200 children about the major online risks and the ways to combat them.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The employees from Invetix were very comprehansive of the concept and the app specification and created a product that perfectly matched our expectations. They were also very responsive and in the majority of cases quickly fixed bugs and improved the app functionalities based on feedback.

The only time we had a gap in the communication was when we requested a clear process for accessing the user data for the mobile app and are still struggling to find one.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Two things impressed me equally:

• Their deep comprehension of the business (in this case project) needs.
• They are passionate about working on socially beneficial projects, especially when they address children.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As already mentioned, we would like to recieve clear instructions on accessing end evaluating the user data of the app both in iOS and in Google in order to evaluate its impact.

How did Vola Software address the challenges that arose?

The only time we had a gap in the communication was when we requested a clear process for accessing the user data for the mobile app and are still struggling to find one. However, after receiving their review, Vola Software came back to us and now this problem is fixed.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

We use the app Vola Software developed heavily in our Cyberscout peer-to-peer child training programme about online safety. Since the app creation we have trained well over 300 10-12 year old children across Bulgaria, who in turn have reached over 2000 of their peers. They children actively use the app in their peer-to-peer training activities and their feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

In what specific areas can they improve?

As already mentioned, we initially had gaps in communication about how to track user data, but the problem has been fixed after Vola Software received their initial review. One area of improvement would have been an earlier reaction to the problem.

The development of a working prototype that could be showcased to the governments of Armenia and Georgia

How did you select this vendor?

We had heard of them through news outlets and they were recommended by experts with knowledge of the subject matter. Given the unique position of the World Bank, our preference was to hire a company in a developing country which would have been able to execute and was also cost-effective.

At the request of the Georgian and Armenian governments, we started the development of a pilot prototype for peer-to-peer index insurance platform which utilizes satellite data to trigger the execution of the insurance contracts.

All of the software development was done by Inveitix. This included the front-end development, the back-end development and database management as well as the integration with the various APIs and data providers.

In addition, the project included a blockchain component where parts of the contract were stored on a blockchain.

They create my company`s web page www.studio4.marketing using laravel framework connected with admin`s panel, where I can upload, delete all databse with properties and manage all client`s enquiries. For me was not so easy to understand all process and steps of creating web page, more important was to see visible results in the end of this project. Real estate web pages are specific in a way that affects directly to client`s attention as well as business income. In real estate it is better not having company`s web page instead of having not userfriendly one.

The team lead is Emilian Kadiisky and I had communicate with web developer Emil Sergeev. Both of them were very helpful to me and understanding client`s needs. I really appreciate their professional work and definitely would recommend them.

For one year many people visit the page, for local business the results are very good (excluding paid promotions).

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I think it was very good organized, all of the team followed schedule and each part of the page was created by different person, all of them were good managed by the team lead. We had shared folder where I can upload any of my visions, ideas, questions about certain case during the project.

The communication is always open, it is very good to know exaclty where is your project in time line. Feels good to know that someone is standing on his words.

The only thing is that it might be good for their team to have a designer, to precise final look of pages they create.
