First, Visuality conducted user research and came up with user journeys during the prototyping phase. The team then used Twilio's API to develop an MVP for a video communications tool in Ruby on Rails.
Visuality has done great work thus far, delivering a high-quality, functional communications solution. They manage the project well, keeping the internal team abreast of any changes or obstacles, and their communication is good. They are also committed to delivering good value for money.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of Zing Groups. We’re creating a new video calling product.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Visuality?
We’ve been working with them on business planning, conceptual analyses, and user journeys. We wanted Visuality to create an MVP and to do some continuous development work.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
During our first engagement, Visuality did a lot of research, and we discussed a couple of options for the project. We then had a prototyping and user journeys exercise, and they made an estimate for the features we specified.
Once that was done, we kicked the project off formally and created our first stage. Since then, we’ve gone on to ongoing development.
We made a visual design for the prototype ourselves, and Visuality was mostly in charge of all frontend and backend development. Functionalities include user registration and video calling. We’re using Twilio’s API to make that possible.
Users can switch rapidly between private and group conversations within the same event, and they can also play simple games with others. Visuality has also provided project management services.
The app is based on Ruby on Rails and other technologies on the backend, and JavaScript on the frontend. It connects to Twilio’s communications API, so the Twilio platform is doing a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of the actual video feed.
We haven’t launched the product formally, but we’ll be doing it shortly. We’re preparing our marketing. As part of that, we’re still doing some development to work out edge cases and add features that trial users asked for.
What is the team composition?
They have a dedicated project manager who organizes the team. We had one frontend and two backend fulltime developers initially, and we reduced that to one frontend and one backend developer now.
There’s an additional frontend developer, who’s not fulltime on the project. They’re quite flexible in terms of team composition. We’ve also worked with their business development director and CEO.
How much have you invested with them?
The cost so far is around £40,000 (approximately $52,200 USD). It’ll probably continue at a rate of £8,000–£10,000 (approximately $10,000–$13,000 USD) per month.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Visuality in April 2020, around the time when the company was started. We completed an MVP 6–8 weeks ago, and we’re making some refinements and additions to it.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
From my perspective and that of users who have tested the product, it’s impressive that we’ve been able to create an end-to-end conferencing solution. There was quite a lot of research that went in to start with, and quite a lot of time invested in making sure that we were building it in a scalable way.
We’re able to easily make changes, and the actual solution is very high quality. There are some edge cases, as with any new product, but we’re generally very satisfied with the quality and with the speed at which we can make changes and add features. It’s been well-thought-through from a technical perspective.
How did Visuality perform from a project management standpoint?
I’ve been quite heavily involved in the process, and I’m happy with the project management. They keep us updated on any prospective changes or issues, and the communication, in general, is very good.
We use Jira as a technical management tool, and I have good visibility into it. I can create issues within it directly, and I can see what’s going on with a particular sprint at any point in time, along with what the backlog is and what we’re releasing for user acceptance testing.
It probably took us a few weeks to optimize this at the start of the project, because there was quite a lot of research and behind-the-scenes work to do.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I haven’t had much experience using other developers, but I have a very good feeling working with Visuality. I was pleased with the quality of the first project we did and with the general collaborative approach.
They are a relatively small firm, but they’ve got enough people to scale up a team. I have good confidence that the people they’re going to put on to a project are going to do things the right way.
They’re probably not the cheapest, but knowing that we’re going to have a good ongoing relationship and that they’re going to do high-quality work is the most important element for us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could be more proactive in making UI/UX and development suggestions. We’ve used someone else for visual design, and we haven’t engaged their team too much on that front. There are a few inefficiencies creeping in after the MVP stage, which is probably due to us not having the right UX expertise.
Visuality could potentially be a bit more proactive in making some of those suggestions based on the experience they have on other projects. Other than that, I’ve been pretty happy with everything they’ve done.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Clients should definitely ask for Visuality’s advice. They’re a full-stack development agency, and they also have designers and a marketing and analytics team. They have a lot of knowledge and expertise within their organization.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am founder and CEO of a company providing platform being a one stop solution for tennis players, coaches and tennis clubs enabling booking of courts, trainings and inviting for sparring on mobile app without making a single phone call.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Visuality, and what were your goals?
To analyse and evaluate existing code, develop it, improve it, make it work better, add many new functionalities.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Someone recommended Visuality (a firm cooperating with them). The important thing was the way they presented them selves, how fast they understood our needs and challenges we were and still are facing.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
First they have revised our code. Then gave us advise how to develop it and improve it bearing in mind our goals and major functionalities we wanted to add. They have divided work on parts - each belonging to following sprints. The way of work - scrum - in their way is very useful.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Product manager is our major point of contact. Also 2 full stack developers and chief of stuff as a supervisor to resolve bigger problems. Also we have worked with their designer.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We haven't got them yet. However due to their work our platform - wich is being launched - is working despite many complicated features it has and most of all huge problems and difficulties it used to have before we have started to cooperate.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Once per two weeks we have sprint. After each such a meeting - grooming call/meeting to confirm the agenda for next sprint. Before sprints - demo. - to show the results of works.
Besides - on daily basis -communication on Slack and constant contact on Redmine to determine exact tasks and their assignement to right persons. From time to time contact with CEO assuring that our aims, goals etc. are well reflected and all have the same vision - from both sides - Visuality and ours.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They have a great culture of work and professionalism. Scrum is not an empty word but real and effective way of work. Their team is focused not only on coding and executing client's demands but also in search of solutions and resolving problems and obstacles always considering specific area of activity and market on which client runs its activity.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I have no remarks.

Visuality provided UI/UX designs for an antique furniture retailer. After a research phase, the team created designs and user flows for the client's e-commerce site.
The engagement led to a significant increase in the site's conversion rate and decreased bounce rate. Visuality establishes an effective workflow through regular communication. The team crafts an enjoyable working experience.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m a CEO of Yestersen, a company that is specialized in searching, buying, refurbishing and reselling unique antiques. Clients can browse through thousands of unique vintage furniture, accessories, lighting, utilities, fragrances and many more.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Visuality?
We hired Visuality to create a complete UI/UX of the e-shop that we have.
What were your goals for this project?
The main goal was making sure that we have a hi-end custom website with an impeccable design that would allow us to reach the high conversion. We wanted a minimalist, clean UI, and UX. We also wanted to observe users’ behavior patterns and adjust the interface so it covers all the needs. We didn’t want to be just another generic e-shop.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We sent a couple of inquiries to companies in Poland and Ukraine. Visuality’s response time was the quickest. Soon after we started talking, they provided the research and implementation plan. I chose Visuality also because I liked their designers as they were focused and communicative and had an impressive portfolio.
Describe the project in detail.
The biggest challenge was creating and engaging interface that would fit the taste of the target group. We asked Visuality to research and measure what is important for the target client. They delivered the research together with the proposal and implementation plan together with a precise estimation done in a similar way like the quote you get for the software development.
We signed a time&materials contract in order to be able to modify or add the next elements to design throughout the duration of our cooperation. They were delivering the screens and elements in batches that we were commenting on, accepting or requesting changes. This cooperation model was convenient and we were quickly observing results.
After implementing the UI/UX on our site, we started to gather analytics and monitor users’ behavior, which was later interpreted by Visuality’s marketing team. Thanks to their insights and the direct feedback from early adaptors we were able to detect which areas of the site needed to be adjusted.
We asked Visuality to modify the existing interface and user flow and implemented the changes. We now continue cooperation and Visuality adjusts the general design or delivers smaller batches of work when requested.
What was the team composition?
Initially, we communicated with a business developer who gave us an overview of Visuality. When he learned about our requirements he introduced us to their lead designer that started to gather precise requirements. Later we worked mainly with that designer, occasionally with his colleague.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Throughout our cooperation, we learned that our conversion increased significantly and that the bounce rate diminished. Thanks to the combination with a good marketing strategy, we reach our target users efficiently and introduced Yestersen in foreign markets (Spain).
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was very effective, especially in the beginning when we had to pass a lot of knowledge onto Visuality’s designers. They were learning quickly and suggesting the next steps themselves. We were mainly contacting through Slack and conference calls, but we met a couple of times at their office when both sides felt that it would be more efficient.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They do things by the book, but at the same time they are natural and one simply enjoys working with them. I saw a lot of companies talking all the time about the quality of service and work they do, but with Visuality, I could finally witness the quality, not only hear about it.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Maybe they could be a little bit cheaper, but I knew their rates were on the higher end before I signed the contract, so there was no surprise when I was receiving the invoices.

Visuality supports the development of a learning management system (LMS) for a third-party client. This involved optimizing an existing LMS to fix bugs, add new features, and adjust the UX/UI.
Thanks to the vendor's services, the students are enjoying a reliable, intuitive learning platform. Online materials are better organized, and it's easier to connect with tutors. There are fewer complaints or requests for refunds. Visuality maintains a highly organized task management style.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m a CEO of a software company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Visuality?
We’ve hired Visuality to continue building a custom learning platform (LMS) for our client. Our project capacity was full, but the client insisted on working with us so we decided to hire a high-quality company to help us deliver. Client was well aware that other company was involved but they trusted us completely in organizing the whole operation.
What were your goals for this project?
Client had a running project related to online learning, however the majority of his business was done offline through classes and individual lessons. When COVID-19 struck and made standard classes impossible, the client had to move all his business to LMS which was not ready for high capacity, lacked in content and was too buggy. The goal was to optimize the performance, add new features that lacked and adjust the UX/UI.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We knew Visuality before and worked on several applications together. They always delivered what we asked for, wrote high-quality code and were communicative so we’ve decided to share this project with them too. We chose them also because they are currently running a similar project related to e-learning.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
Client from the United States that we’ve met at a conference, reached out to us early March 2020 and asked us if you could urgently work on his unfinished product. It is an online learning platform dedicated to college and university students that need additional help in preparing for exams or high school graduates preparing for college entrance exams. The client depended mainly on private courses and counseling, group classes and online lessons were about 30% of their business. Due to coronavirus pandemic, early March students started to resign from standard lessons and move to online courses, and finally within a few weeks, the onsite courses were completely suspended due to the lockdown imposed by the state officials. The platform was not ready to withstand such a number of students, there were multiple courses missing from the online offer. Students also started to complain about the performance, bugs, and not intuitive navigation. Some students resigned and terminated their contracts, however, there was a spike in the incoming new students. The client seeing the opportunity to maintain his business in good condition and acquire new customers, decided to develop his online tool more, but seeking a lower cost of development spoke to offshore companies, mainly in Poland. We knew each other so we were chosen as a contractor, however at the time we began another demanding project and we had no developers left. We reached out to Visuality who had a couple of developers exiting a previous project. We organized online workshops together, went through all the cases with the client. Visuality’s project manager did a great job by quickly gathering client’s requirements, prepare the user stories and provided a realistic estimate. The client made a positive decision and the team started very quickly within a couple of days. They started from optimizing the performance, writing tests, removing bugs. Then they started to finish and introduce new features to improve students’ experience. Thanks to their knowledge of WebRTC and other live streaming protocols, they were able to maintain a stable connection in the time of heavy demand for conference calls tools. They also audited the UI/UX of the platform and presented a new refreshed and more intuitive interface made the onboarding process easier. This is still work in progress and there is a lot more to do.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The students now have a stable learning platform, their contact with tutors is easier thanks to higher quality of the video connection. Online materials are better organized, students can track their progress, track time they spent, and take online tests in a more convenient way. From the business perspective, students are complaining less about the platform, there are fewer refunds and the client was able to “survive” the pandemic with better results. As many businesses he is considering moving completely to online, however, is aware of a big competition on the US market.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
It was very effective and flawless. We heard no complaints from the client (we were the official contracting party responsible for Visuality’s work), we also had no issues with Visuality.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I think it is how quickly they’ve adapted to the situation and even when their own company was going through lockdown they were able to organize the work in such a good way that from my and client’s perspective it didn’t affect the quality of the code they delivered. They seem to understand not only the technical aspects but also the business.I also want to say that Visuality’s project managers are true rockstars!
Are there any areas for improvement?
I know it was sometimes hard to go through meetings with the client due to big time zone differences, but after initial problems, they were able to come with a system that worked for all the parties. From my perspective as a person who hired them, I think they should prepare more detailed offers because the client felt that it was lacking in information and comments.

Visuality designed and developed the UI/UX for a geo-mapping platform that helps users find fishing spots and plan trips. They created the landing page, map page, log in, user flow, and user profiles.
Since the platform launched, feedback has been positive and the website continues to gain new users. Visuality contributed to a smooth workflow by keeping communication channels open. They delivered everything on time and responded to their partners almost immediately.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO of The Hedge Lab - a software development company developing web-based solutions and systems.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Visuality?
We hired Visuality with the development of UI/UX designs with respect to a web platform to help fishing enthusiasts find the best fishing spots and plan their trip (find places to stay, shop and eat).
What were your goals for this project?
The goals of the project were to develop a web-based soltuion from scratch, based on a predetermined set of requirements which we received from our client.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We did an online survey and came across a number of prospective contractors whose work we found to be quite appealing and inline with what we had in mind. After brief communications talks with them regarding scope, pricing and implementation model, Visuality came on the top.
Describe the project in detail.
Once we selected Visuality for our UX/UI development we sent detailed specifications on what the project included, together with our immediate priorities, for the purpose of getting a final price per unit (stage) as well as to determine overall duration. We agreed that work would be done on a unit per unit base where prior to each of the stages specifications, duration and price would be specifically confirmed by both parties. The UI of the entire system is designed entirely by Visuality (main - map page; login/signup flow; user profile pages; location profile pages).
What was the team composition?
We worked exclusively with Mr. Łukasz Jackiewicz for the entire duration of the project.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The platform is up and running constantly gaining new users with overwhelmingly positive response on behalf of fishing enthusiasts.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication flow was instantaneous - with timely replies and no interruptions. Work was done as per specifications and on time. Any concerns or comments of ours were discussed and reflected immediately. Quality is excellent.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
This was our second project with Visuality which was completed remotely with both parties situated in different countries, speaking different native languages and no physical interaction. As in the previous case we were impressed that with Visuality none of the above presented a difficulty or an obstacle to overcome.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There very little to desire from Visuality in terms of improvement. So our only comment in this sense is - keep up the good work.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-owner and CPO of a London-based startup that developed a B2B web application.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Visuality?
We hired Visuality to build our web platform from scratch.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
After giving their team our plan, Visuality developed our web platform from scratch. We did the design from our side, and they provided full-stack development using Ruby on Rails.
What is the team composition?
We worked with two backend developers, one frontend developer, and a project manager.
How did you come to work with Visuality?
I reached out to several development companies, speaking to them individually about our challenge. Someone recommended Visuality, and we chose them based on our talks and other recommendations.
How much have you invested with them?
Each month, we spent €18,000 (approximately $20,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Visuality in May 2018, and it is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The platform launched to our users in September 2018. Their team continues adding features and providing maintenance. Visuality delivered what we expected. Their team was able to turn our requirements into actual code, managing to do it in a precise way. They’ve added value by turning our vision into a functional web application. Their team has also given input that goes beyond code. They’ve discussed how we could approach the development of our product and the system architecture.
How did Visuality perform from a project management standpoint?
The project manager does an excellent job. He’s one of the best team members we’ve collaborated with. We use Jira, and a majority of the deadlines have been met.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I appreciate that Visuality is a boutique agency. Because they’re not a big agency, I can easily contact their CTO or CEO if there is an issue. Their team works professionally. The project manager has done a fantastic job since the beginning.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there’s nothing I can think of for them to improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It’s never a bad idea to plan ahead of time. Clients need to know the specifics of what they want to develop. It’s also great to roadmap in advance to make sure they have the right team for not just now, but the future.

SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Visuality was able to replicate our software written in Flash and update it to JavaScript and HTML 5. They provided some design elements as well as both front- and backend development for the web application. The project lasted two months until we decided internally to discontinue that part of the business.
What is the team composition?
Our initial contact was with a business development manager. We then worked with a project manager, a designer, and two developers, one for the frontend and one for the backend.
How did you come to work with Visuality?
I found them through internet research, including via Clutch which helped me select them. I wanted a small agency that would have a personal touch since that’s the kind of firm we are. Visuality was very friendly from the outset. I went out to visit their team which gave me a good vibe. We started with a small piece of work to test them and then brought them on for the full project.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from July–August 2018.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We decided not to follow through on this project because our business objectives changed. We haven’t been able to reach our original goals, but that has nothing to do with Visuality’s work. The software that they developed for us was very good.
How did Visuality perform from a project management standpoint?
We used Jira to track the project and worked on sprints. We had weekly calls to review the previous sprint and plan the next one. They gave me demos of what they’d developed at each stage.
Their communication was excellent. I always knew exactly what was happening. Any issues that arose were communicated and dealt with quickly and effectively. The project manager did a good job of keeping me informed, checking in when the team needed decisions to be made, and generally coordinating and focusing the team.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The quality of their communication established a strong client relationship. This was facilitated mostly by the project manager, but it was helpful to chat with the developers directly as well. They were always quick to understand what I needed, propose solutions, and put them into action. The quality of their technical development work was also very high.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We ran slightly over budget though not by a significant amount. That wasn’t a complete surprise given some small changes in scope throughout the project. A few things took a little bit longer than anticipated on the technical development and debugging. I would suggest that they perhaps add a buffer to the budget for overruns like that.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It takes time to manage the client relationship element of a project. Take the time to review communications, schedule calls, etc. Allow time to think about possible changes in scope as the project advances to achieve your business goals. Most of this is regular project management. Maybe also go visit their team at their offices.

Visuality developed a native app that incorporates online payment capability for booking tours and an admin panel for operators. They continue to support and host the app.
The app that Visuality built was well-received, resulting in improvements to the tour businesses. Expertise and meticulousness are hallmarks of their work. Their team not only enhanced the project creatively, but also demonstrates a vested interest in long-term outcomes and customer business needs.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m one of the co-founders of Magello, which helps tour operators book tours instantly and without a hassle. We saw an opportunity to make their life easier by focusing on growing their business instead of day to day operations related to bookings.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Visuality?
We needed to hire a high-quality team of external engineers to build our app. We wanted to make sure that the system was reliable to manage thousands of bookings every day.
What were your goals for this project?
The basic goal was to create a simple, easy to use platform for the end users of our clients.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We did extensive research and identified Visuality as a potential partner. We met face-to-face with their team and gathered referrals from their current clients to make sure they were the right fit. We were convinced by the quality of their engineering and project management work.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
Visuality helped us to create the app from scratch. They conducted a workshop to shape the idea of our product, and we created the documentation together. After completing the design of the app, they used the Scrum process in two-week sprints to develop the UX. We got a new iteration of the product at the end of each sprint. That allowed us to test it with our early adopters. They gathered feedback in order to implement necessary changes in later phases.
They built the admin panel that was used by tour operators. Visuality also gave the system the ability to integrate with various platforms to manage payments submitted by the end user. Once the app was completed, Visuality also implemented additional features. They continue to host the app and take care of the system’s health. They also helped us to create marketing and sales materials.
What was the team composition?
They provided a team of three engineers including a team leader. We also worked with a project manager. We also used their UX/UI designers to create the design of the app.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
We haven’t seen any errors or disruptions in service at all since final deployment. That stability is highly appreciated by our clients and their customers. The simplicity of the app also helped shorten the onboarding time. Each client using Magello saw a huge boost in their business because they’re able to rely on the app for bookings.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Visuality met all of our requirements. They understood the idea quickly and were able to add business value to our ideas. They’re intuitive and fast, which allows them to do a lot of operations without delay. They use Jira for project management and Slack for day-to-day communication with our team. They’re always available when needed. We also had bi-weekly sprint review and planning meetings that allowed us to change the priorities whenever needed.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They delivered high-quality code, which was confirmed by an external developer as required by our investors. It’s also impressive that no errors appeared during—or since—production.
Are there any areas for improvement?
The software could have been delivered a bit sooner, but it's hard to say as we also implemented a lot of changes. Nevertheless, any delays were always reasonable and we could have honest and open communication about any problems.

Visuality provides ongoing website maintenance and implements new features to improve business operations. Upgrades include a more secure payment process and an expanded data collection system.
Visuality’s team has been thoroughly communicative and professional throughout the engagement, resulting in several new features that have added functionality to the site. They have taken ownership of the site’s inner workings and are dedicated to the business’ success.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the owner of RacesOnline. We have a web-based result and registration platform for running races, cycling events, triathlons, and the like. We offer services to race participants and race directors.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Visuality?
We needed a company that we could rely on to take on feature development and system maintenance.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Throughout our engagement, they have provided maintenance of our existing website and updated it with new features. Our system is programmed with Ruby on Rails, and they utilize GitHub, Airbrake, SendGrid, and Capistrano.
What is the team composition?
We have a project manager as well as three or four developers depending on their workload.
How did you come to work with Visuality?
We spoke with three or four firms and asked them to do a code review. We then took a call with each one, and of all the companies that made it to that stage, Visuality stood out in the amount of time and thought they put into the review. That’s why we hired them.
How much have you invested with them?
We pay $10,000 per month for their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in November 2017 and have ongoing projects.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The newest features of our website include an updated payment gateway to make it more secure, an expanded result system to include cycling as well as running races, and they are currently working on a new fundraising platform. All of their work has been high-quality.
How did Visuality perform from a project management standpoint?
Because they’re overseas, they are overly communicative and the time difference has never been an issue. We communicate via Slack, and that’s worked well. We also have video calls. I don’t speak with their CTO much, but he’s very involved behind the scenes, making sure the project is on track. We also have a dedicated project manager who knows our system well and has been very responsive.
What did you find most impressive about them?
For a group that is not a part of my in-house team, they really seem to care about the business and the system. I haven’t found that with other contractors. But Visuality clearly cared about it. There are a lot of good contractors, but to have Visuality take this on as their own, that’s really meaningful.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. They have done an outstanding job.
Any advice for potential customers?
I went to Poland about two or three months into our engagement and I found it helpful to sit down and brainstorm with them in person. I hope to make it an annual trip.

Visuality designed and built a Progressive Web App using React, Ruby on Rails, and MySQL for database management. Features included GPS integration, time tracking, and an interactive calendar for scheduling.
Attentive project management included substantive advice on features that allowed the client to make informed decisions and create the best app possible. The team fostered a very comfortable and optimistic working relationship, and user feedback on the app has been overwhelmingly positive.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the project manager at Fieldd Service Software, a startup based in Austin, TX. Fieldd is an all-in-one scheduling app for field service companies like maid services, carpet cleaning, etc.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Visuality?
We had been working with a large development group and missed the benefits of working with a smaller firm. We decided to find a new group that would be more passionate about our product and function as a part of our team.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Visuality built a new Progressive Web App (PWA) for us based on our preexisting app using Ruby on Rails and React. They also used MySQL for database management. The app is built for both field agents and their supervisors, and its core functionality focuses on viewing/setting a schedule. Phone numbers are linked, and addresses are set to open Google Maps. Field agents can attach notes, files, and videos to specific appointments, and supervisors have oversight on the business calendar.
Visuality also made style changes on the frontend and built a new time tracking feature for the platform. The PWA has already launched, but they’re continuing to create and implement new features.
What is the team composition?
We worked with the CEO and CTO throughout the project, and they brought on two developers, one frontend and one backend. We also worked with several others while waiting for our dedicated backend.
How did you come to work with Visuality?
We found them online after doing some research and connected with them on LinkedIn. From there we had several calls and started work right away.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $80,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July of 2017, and the project is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I don’t have metrics to share on hand, but user feedback has been very positive. The app is simple and fast, and it’s saved our customers a great deal of time.
How did Visuality perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been excellent. We used Trello for roadmaps in the beginning of the project and later switched to Jira for task management. We primarily use Slack for daily communication.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Despite the distance between our two companies, they felt like friends and family for us. They take tremendous pride in their work and really seemed to care about our project. There’s real passion in what they do, which is very important when you’re building an app from scratch. They encouraged us to think critically about what we included in the app and provided feedback that helped us make informed decisions.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We would have been a bit more organized had they used Pivotal from the start. Also, despite working within an Agile framework, they don’t provide estimations that we were used to with other development groups. This is partially just due to their size.
Advice for potential customers?
I would suggest that their clients travel to Poland for their product kickoff. We were there for three days, and it felt like we got a month’s worth of work done during that time.
