Trigent Software developed a mobile app for a transportation brokerage firm. The app interfaces with the client’s internal database to allow their customers to track inventory and request deliveries.
The client’s customers have been happy with the ease of use and user-friendly interface of the solution. Despite facing a severe time zone difference, Trigent Software was able to meet all communication and project management expectations, and the team continues to impress with routine maintenance.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the chief information officer for a broker for customers looking for last-mile delivery services in the United States. We service hotels and other facilities as they remodel or engage in other business. Our team handles inventory control and arranges for business to collaborate with warehouse partners.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?
They developed a mobile app to serve as a companion to our existing inventory system on the web. The app would make us more accessible to customers day-to-day.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
With the app, customers would be able to look at their inventory in all their facilities across the country, place requests for deliveries, analyze paperwork, and more. Their team developed the software that interfaces with our internal database on a real-time basis. The app is cloud-based, so customers can access their information at any time.
If a customer was building a hotel, for instance, they would place an order through the app for beds and other materials. Then, the items would be shipped to a warehousing location near the site. As they do construction, they can request what has been stored incrementally as they build.
The app allows them to place that order and transfer the information to our internal system. Then, we coordinate the logistics of delivery and provide the service they’re looking for. We’ve launched the app, but they still do maintenance and enhancements and customers dictate.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with 3–4 individuals on the project.
How did you come to work with Trigent Software?
I found them while searching for a partner online. We also received references endorsing them, and they were priced fairly. That encouraged us to select them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $20,000–$30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around the late winter of 2019 and are still collaborating.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We base our success on customer feedback, and they’ve been happy with the ease of use and navigability of the solution so far. Customers are mobile, so they appreciate the accessibility of a mobile app over a web solution.
How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve met all my expectations. Some of their support staff is located in India, so there’s a 12-hour time zone difference between us and there can be small language barriers. We’ve worked through those challenges, and project management has been effective. We communicate primarily through email and Zoom.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were able to effectively interpret my vision and translate it into a final product. Their price points were also very impressive for the quality of work we received.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have anything negative to say about them. I’m happy with their services.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Clearly describe and detail your expectations. We worked together to make our apps work and marry them into our system. Collaboration and clarity of expectations were key.

Trigent Software is providing ongoing software development for the product suite of a software and business services company, using JavaScript and ReactJS to improve the code and design of existing products.
The development work executed by Trigent Software on the project has met all project stakeholder expectations, helping them to accelerate their development progress and receiving positive feedback from users as features roll out. Their team is capable of delivering while working independently.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the general manager of a software services and business services consulting company for organizations in the public sector. We are a small, veteran-owned company based in Fairfax, Virginia.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?
Our main goals with the project were to reduce the development costs of our software product while also improving the velocity of updates and incorporating a fresh perspective from a new design and development team.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our product is a SaaS cloud-based product that is used for managing the inventory of publicly owned property. We first built it back in 2012 using JavaScript as well as ReactJS for the mobile version, and there has been a pretty significant backlog of issues that developed over that time. Trigent Software is helping us to implement an agile development process to clear out some of that backlog and continue moving our product forward.
We started by going through and identifying and prioritizing any issues that needed to be fixed, putting them into a proper cadence of sprint activities as we went. After that, we really thoroughly reviewed the overall product design and came up with a set of recommendations for improvements that could be made on the UI.
Once we had all of those requirements and planned milestones in place, they set out working through all of those, and have given us the flexibility to tackle projects with the velocity that we see fit by either increasing or decreasing the development resources that we are drawing on from their bench at any given time.
What is the team composition?
There are maybe seven members of their team who are working on our project on average, including a project manager who serves as our main point of contact to help coordinate the rest of the team. From there we have a chief architect, a front- and backend developer, an AWS infrastructure developer, a mobile developer, a security developer, and a QA tester.
How did you come to work with Trigent Software?
I originally found their team through Clutch. We were looking for a team that had full-stack experience, had worked with AWS, had scalability in their team, and was a reliable and well-established partner. Trigent’s profile made it clear that they met all of those criteria, so we submitted an RFP for them and a few other companies, and eventually decided to go with them.
How much have you invested with them?
Our total investment with them has been about $100,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project officially got started in January 2020 and has been ongoing since then.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have a regular schedule of sprints, so the accountability measures on those are mostly based on the cadence of the activity, getting everything done on time, and meeting the specific objectives for each sprint that we do. They’ve done a great job keeping up with us on all of those.
On a more anecdotal level, we have developed a really great level of comfort in our dynamic working with their team, which makes things much easier to manage because it never feels like a challenge to get them to do things that we need to be done. We’re starting to see feedback from customers roll in as we launch more and more upgrades to the product, and everything we’ve heard so far has been very positive.
How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Their team is always responsive and flexible in terms of scheduling. They take responsibility for getting stuff done when they’re supposed to and have even started to be able to anticipate some of our needs, which we’ve really appreciated.
Not only that, but they make recommendations in consideration of our interests and those of our clients, which shows they are thinking critically about their work with us. They use Zoom and Google Meet to stay in touch with us on a regular basis, as well as Jira for project tracking and Confluence as a document repository and for project management.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’ve been very impressed with the customer relationship aspect of the project in terms of how we’re being managed. Their team has been incredibly professional and really demonstrated a sensitivity to what we’re trying to accomplish and how they can eliminate as many problems for us as quickly as possible.
In terms of their technical abilities as well, they’ve really showcased the ability to take on a particular task, understand what’s involved, and figure out how to resolve it without needing a great deal of direction on our end. That makes my life as a general manager a lot easier.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think I have any complaints about their performance so far. We had a very abrupt transition period when we brought them on, which was much more on us than on them, but they managed it very well anyway and I don’t think the customers noticed anything, so it really wasn’t a problem at all.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Articulating your deliverables and expectations right up front is the main thing you can do to set yourself up for success because they are very responsive to that sort of direct communication style. As far as the rest of it goes, they really do a good job of handling the entirety of the process, so you really don’t have anything to worry about.

Trigent Software provides comprehensive development support to the internal ERP and website of an industrial chemicals manufacturer, working in PHP and Laravel and implementing Google Analytics to build SEO.
The software work delivered by Trigent Software has been transformative for the internal management of the client’s processes, allowing them to sustain much more rapid growth than they had originally anticipated due to external circumstances. The team excels at communication and project management.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are an industrial chemical manufacturing company for the B2B space, and I am the CIO. I oversee all of the information technology and data flow for the company, from the ERP all the way to the public-facing website.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?
For the last 10 years, we had an in-house developer who worked on all of the internal software that enables what we do. That developer moved on, and rather than hiring another full-time developer, we looked for a partner that could help us meet the same need.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We have an internal portal for our team to look up information, place orders, and gather marketing materials, and they have worked to essentially bring more value into that system. That has included adding components to the software, handling user requests, and even overhauling and deploying our new website which allows us to better utilize Google Analytics for our SEO.
The development framework is a very standard PHP Laravel system, so we had an initial discovery meeting where I explained the technology and our expectations to them, and they took over a little at a time from there. We started with a couple of smaller projects to gauge their knowledge and ability, and they have stayed on to help with various needs and feature updates throughout the lifecycle of the company.
What is the team composition?
I primarily interact with their project manager, who helps a lot in bridging the gap between us and the development team. We started out with two developers and a QA tester, and have since grown to four developers from there.
How did you come to work with Trigent Software?
We initially brought on a partner team that didn’t work out quite as well, and one of their sales managers reached out to me on LinkedIn through a mutual connection to see if I had any general IT needs. It just so happened that when I got on a discovery call with them, we realized that they could serve in that development role as well.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve spent about $50,000, but by the end of this engagement in particular are planning to have spent somewhere around $170,000 in total.
What is the status of this engagement?
The partnership started in November 2019 and we are continuing to work together.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Because of the pandemic, our company was positioned to grow a lot faster than we anticipated by supplying a lot of sanitizing chemicals to companies in the US who need it. That made it even more critical for us to have a scalable system in place to support that growth, and Trigent has been an incredible partner in helping us to get that system in place.
I’ve gotten a couple of stakeholders involved for specific marketing, design, and sales management tasks, and our conversations have all focused on the level of work Trigent has provided and how much we’ve been able to turn our technology around. They developed an understanding of our system extremely quickly and brought technical expertise and creativity to making it even better.
How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Their management of the project was fantastic. A lot of the time, the struggle with offshore development teams is just in communicating the business need appropriately so that the developers really take it in and turn it around. Their project manager was absolutely key in our ability to do that successfully.
Trigent provided all of the tools for managing the project, including Jira for all of the ticketing and tracking progress, as well as Skype for quick messaging back and forth with the developers and the team.
We have two scheduled meetings weekly for the whole team to regroup on progress and plans, and one with just me and the project manager in the middle of the week where we establish more of the general roadmap for the company and discuss feedback from the team.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The project management aspect of the project is definitely what puts them head and shoulders above the rest. I’ve worked with several development teams both here and at previous companies and having someone who can actually translate your business requirements into technology is an incredibly important and rare piece.
No matter what I explain to them, I am able to give them my recommendation and the reasons why we need it, and know that they will either develop it perfectly or come back to me and recommend something that will get us even more value on the business end. Because of their expertise, I make more informed decisions that position us to deliver the best value to our customers.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’ve run into occasional communication issues with the developers when we’re in rapid development stages and need to communicate with them directly. There is probably some room for improvement in being more comfortable admitting that they don’t understand something when you explain it the first time so that you can make sure you get it right. I don’t doubt that it will improve with time as we develop more confidence in the relationship.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Communicate your requirements very clearly and go back over everything a few times. It can be easy to overlook the value of the project manager piece, but having them on the team will save you an incredible amount of time and money in the long-run.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the COO of a GPS-tracking solutions company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenges were you trying to address with Trigent Software?
We needed SaaS development services to develop a solution for GPS vehicle tracking.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They developed a database that runs on Linux. The platform works with camera providers that have APIs that feed into our database.
They helped us from the beginning, including outlining our requirements for the project. Their team built everything from the ground up. They act as our primary development team and continue to provide support.
What is the team composition?
We’re currently working with a team of six people, but we’ve worked with up to 12. We’ve had the same project manager the entire team. The team composition has been pretty consistent too; there isn’t much turnover.
How did you come to work with Trigent Software?
We interviewed 3–5 companies. I think we may have received a referral or otherwise just found them on Google. We felt comfortable with their initial bid, so we decided to move forward.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve invested over $330,000. We spent about $100,000 per year.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in February 2017, and the work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re constantly trying to tweak and improve our processes. They’ve been flexible in working with us and fixing bugs as they come up. We use a ticketing system to track the technical issues that we have with the platform.
We’re getting good value for our money, and they’re a trustworthy partner. Our experience has been positive because they’re ethical and knowledgable of the industry.
The work they’ve done is the backbone of our business. If we didn’t have them, we wouldn’t be in business.
How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We use Teams to help us with file sharing and collaboration. They also have company email addresses with us to give them more seamless access. We have regular phone calls on Mondays and Wednesdays. Communication is key when working with an offshore vendor.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The consistency of project leadership is most impressive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Sometimes, when we need additional team members, it takes longer to onboard them than anticipated. However, it can be hard to find good talent, so that’s understandable.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Treat them as a partner, not just an offshore vendor.

Trigent Software was hired to build a real-time API pricing tool for a transportation and logistics company’s client. The team used JSON to build the software.
The tool Trigent Software built sets the client apart from the majority of their competitors and is currently being scaled up to be used for additional customers. Throughout the project, the team was knowledgeable, organized, and reliable, using their expertise to deliver a successful solution.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the president and founder of Surge Transporation, a third-party logistics and transportation brokerage.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?
We wanted to partner with a tech company that could help us build the capability to provide real-time API pricing to one of our customers.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
One of our larger companies gave us specs on how to write into their system for API calls. We introduced those to Trigent Software and asked them to build our system. In addition to that, I had to select some rating engines to build the integration with.
We also had to build our algorithm for what we want to do with the pricing information we’re aggregating from the other engines. There was a combination of servers we had to select for hosting.
As far as technologies, the team’s using JSON, and we’re doing some XML conversions into JSON.
What is the team composition?
I primarily have two points of contact. When we started the project, we worked with about five or six people in the architectural stages. Now that we’re live, there are a few people working on maintenance, and two people doing EDI. Altogether, it’s been about 10–12 people coming in and out as needed.
How did you come to work with Trigent Software?
One of their reps reached out to me on LinkedIn in July 2019. I had a call with them, and I could tell what they were offering was more advanced than what we needed, so we agreed that we wouldn’t be able to utilize their expertise.
When the opportunity presented itself, I reached out to Trigent Software right away.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $65,000–$70,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since October 2019. It’s an ongoing process that I believe is turning into a long-term partnership.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The pricing engine Trigent Software created works very well. It’s a huge deal for our company to be able to participate in this digital marketplace environment that’s transforming the landscape of transportation, logistics, and supply-chain. It’s a real game changer for us. Out of 18,000 competitors, we’re one of 40 or 50 with this capability.
Originally, we partnered with Trigent Software to build one tool for one customer. Now, we’re rolling it out to multiple customers. It’s turning into a much larger project than what was in the initial scope of work.
How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?
My level of satisfaction with the project is a 10. We use Jira for project management, and had daily and weekly phone calls with the team.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their expertise and their capability to build a solution from scratch is noteworthy. The team really understands how to extract information to create something from nothing. I was really impressed with how much time they spent understanding what we needed and the speed with which they were able to deliver and get us to market.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing comes to mind. I’m very satisfied.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I wholeheartedly endorse working with Trigent Software.

An investment firm hired Trigent Software to automate a manual workflow. They used Sharepoint to automate forms and workflows.
The impact is significant despite the limited implementation so far, streamlining the process, adding transparency, saving time, and minimizing errors. They were very efficient at project management, accessible, and became a true partner.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am my firm's Project Manager, so I provide oversight on priority projects, especially with efforts to automate and streamline manual processes.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Trigent Software?
We hired Trigent to help us review a manual workflow and automate via Sharepoint using forms and workflow functionalities.
What were your goals for this project?
Automate a component of the onboarding process for new employees.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
Our CTO conducted a search, and asked for recommendations from his peers. We then met with a couple of potential vendors and ended up choosing Trigent for their expertise and affordable rates.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
Once we hired them they provided full services from development to project management and quality assurance, so it was seamless to carry out this project with them. We mostly just provided requirements and met every week to discuss progress but they effectively ran the project themselves, always easily accessible for questions, even despite of the time difference. We aimed to stay with mostly out of the box Sharepoint functionality, but some items were custom and they had great problem solving/creativity and command of the additional tool needed for the custom work.
What was the team composition?
1. Project Manager, Business Analyst, Technical Architect 2. Sharepoint Developer 3. User Interface 4. QA
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
We are at the beginning stages, but the impact is significant as we basically automated a process that was previously reliant on manual inputs and paper forms, and led to delays and confusion on status. We now have a streamlined process that allows the stakeholders to know where things are, and provides transparency to all as the status changes.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Trigent provided a resource for this, and it was a very effective set-up. The project manager kept track of all threads and would produce quick powerpoints for our weekly meetings, and efficiently follow-up on all items to ensure things were moving along.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Thought partnership and accessibility.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Better due diligence at the onset for requirements prior to providing the first quote. We had an item we were not aligned well on, and that impacted the cost once we delved further at the beginning of the project. It wasn't too problematic of an increase, so it was fine.

I’m the VP of support and services at a PIM software company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?
Another portion of their team works for us through our development team, but for this project specifically, we were looking for offshore, low-cost programming support.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
In addition to working on simple bug fixes, Trigent Software helped us build and design an iOS and Android mobile app. The team is now working on adding features to the app.
What is the team composition?
We work with 4–5 people but we have one main point of contact who serves as our project manager.
How did you come to work with Trigent Software?
When I assumed responsibility of the project, our company had already been working with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $25,000–$30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with them in August 2019 and our engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They've delivered everything on time, with very few regressions, if any. We’re quite pleased and the users are happy with the app. We’re still going through the end of our early adapter process, but so far, so good.
How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Our main point of contact is fantastic. He’s always up-to-date, informed, and prepared, so our meetings are nice and short. Our organization uses Jira, Slack, and Confluence, so Trigent Software uses them too.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m very comfortable with their team. They’re very professional, businesslike, and data-driven. So, I’m happy to be working with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We had a small bump when there was a little bit of scope creep. But that was as much our fault as it was theirs. We figured it out and we’ve been good ever since.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Ask questions and make sure you’re very clear about what you’re looking for from a scope perspective.

To replace an outdated system, Trigent Software has developed a new software solution in SharePoint. They've incorporated existing features, migrated legacy records, and created new templates to capture data.
The new system features a number of helpful enhancements, though there are still some minor bugs to work through. In the beginning, there was some miscommunication between the teams, but more deliberate screenshots and clear documentation on both sides helped bridge the gap.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
We are an employee benefits consulting and brokerage firm. My role is a co-owner executive.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Trigent Software?
We had an outdated system that needed to be programmed into a newer software program that could be supported by our Corporate IT area.
The project involved the incorporation of existing features that we had and liked as well as some enhancements that we wanted to see with the new program. Existing records from our old system were also migrated over to the new software system.
What were your goals for this project?
Get the software into a new platform that our IT could support; enhance the features of the system and provide the ability for our own team to add some unique information that we might need to capture on a client-by-client basis without the need for additional programming.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We vetted four different vendors including our own Corporate programming team. Trigent offered the most affordable and flexible proposal out of all the proposals submitted.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
The developed a custom software program in Share Point after a full review of our current system and input from our team as to functionality that we already had along with the new enhancements that we wanted to gain with the new program.
A project overview was created as a first step followed by several calls to work through the questions and a thorough review of what we desired the final system to include. We asked for the ability to import and export into Excel the data from the system.
Templates were created to allow for us to add additional fields or information that we wanted to maintain both on a client-by-client basis but also an employee-by-employee basis.
What was the team composition?
The Trigent team varied throughout the project. There were 5-6 members on some early calls and then it dropped to 3-4 over time. There was a project manager on initially, but that changed after the first month or two. We had one primary contact that was involved throughout and several programmers that would join our review calls.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The new system has allowed us to add some very helpful enhancements that we were not receiving under the old system. The system is still a work in progress as we are using the system and finding some unexpected results and/or a bug here or there.
I am extremely satisfied with where we are at this point. It has taken much longer than we had anticipated, but a big part of this is due to the fact that we were not initially intending to migrate old data into the new system, but it became apparent we had to do this simply due to the platform that the old system was built and the fact that it could crash at any time and we would be stuck.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Most calls had either a review of the system and features that they had done for the week as well a document that captured the points that were going to be discussed on the call. Responsiveness to our questions or concerns as we began to use the system was very good.
Aggressive deadlines were given throughout the project and they were not always met. I think the terminology that we used didn't always get interpreted correctly, but we realized this fairly early on. We then started to provide more examples and screen shots in order to be sure we were on the same page.
We also struggled at time with understanding what they were saying simply due to the accents. We got better with this over time and we found that having a document that outlined the items we were reviewing helped us to follow along a little better.
Trigent definitely worked around our time difference. They had calls that would have been late evening even on Fridays sometimes. We were very pleased with their willingness to accommodate our time.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They developed an entirely custom program that is both functional and reasonably priced.
Are there any areas for improvement?
If we had it to do over again, we should have had more screen shots and a better understanding from our end as to the data migration piece. All in all, however, I am very pleased with the engagement.

Trigent Software provides software development and platform support for a group insurance procurement company. They provide maintenance services and work on updates and regulation changes on three platforms.
The speed and efficiency that Trigent Software provides far exceeds any previous stateside vendor. They take time to understand the need, even when algorithms or processes are complex. They ensure both considerable cost savings and strong, multi-faceted programming.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are a technology company with a flagship software. We are actively involved in group insurance procurement, enrollment, and billing. We have our own source code that utilizes API technology to provide quotes for rates for multiple products. I'm the owner.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent Software?
Historically, users ask for quotes and go through a three- to five-week process. Through complicated software, we've broken that process down to about 90 minutes. A lot of data passes through the software, and it takes care of the entire process. Another company started work on the project, but it became too large and too varied. Cost became a factor, so we decided to move offshore.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They do our programming, testing, and DevOps, and our relationship continues to grow. We have two active sites with different carriers in all 50 states. We're constantly working with them on updates, and some of the statements of work are very large. We go in and change rates or support new state regulations. They do site maintenance for us, and we work with them very closely on all those changes. Not only have they improved what we had originally, they've also built a lot of new technology and a couple of platforms for us.
What is the team composition?
They have an office in Massachusetts, and we've worked with a few people from there. They also sent team members from Bangalore to work with us. We work with about 12 people who contribute ideas to the platform, led by a project manager in India and some contacts stateside.
How did you come to work with Trigent Software?
We found them through a web search. We knew what we wanted, and we vetted several companies through phone interviews. We had a good feeling about them, and we met with their U.S. team in person. They had a complete, detail-oriented proposal, and we decided to hire them.
How much have you invested with them?
I'd guess we've spent around $350,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We've worked with them for a little over a year, beginning in July 2018. The collaboration is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The speed of their programming is impressive. We can send them a lot of tickets, and they finish everything quickly. We're able to work much faster with them than with any previous provider. They are very accurate, and they ask a lot of questions. They won't proceed with a project until they completely understand what we hope to accomplish. There are a lot of algorithms involved, but take time to comprehend our needs. Cost savings is considerable, and they work with us on major projects in the industry.
How did Trigent Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Our president has a daily meeting with them. We never face any issues with time difference. We ask a lot of them, and they really go out of their way to satisfy us.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Integrity is very important to me. If Trigent say they'll do something, they do it. If something is beyond their understanding, they work hard to ask questions until they can complete the work. They have good programmers, and their deliverables are excellent.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The concept of credit is different in India, and we did have to spend time with them explaining our usage and allowance of credit with our clients. That's just a cultural thing we needed to explain, and they picked it up very quickly.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Reach out to their leadership team and meet with them face to face. They spent two days with us, and we got to know them. They're much more multi-faceted than they appear, and they allocate people quickly to our projects, no matter how diverse.

Trigent provides ongoing IT support for a variety of apps. They also create new functionality and support the development of new cloud-based solutions.
Efficiency improved 40% in one photo-based app since Trigent was first engaged. Their team keeps the project moving through constant communication, providing critical status updates throughout the engagement. They accept constructive input well, but also bring creative ideas of their own to the table at a reasonable value.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of app development for a real estate investment trust. I look at the development of all IT-related solutions and software.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Trigent?
We needed additional resources to support existing IT processes as well as new IT development requirements.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Trigent deals with the development of new requirements for our existing IT-based solutions and applications. They work in C#, .NET, agile-based technologies, and the Microsoft stack. We have a stack of existing applications that they support. They also create new functionalities, assisting me in developing and designing new solutions. I’ve been working with them on a brand new development using cloud-based technology.
How did you come to work with Trigent?
I was brought into this role a little over a year ago, and they were hired before my time. They were a replacement for another company that we were using for IT support. It didn’t work out, so Trigent was brought in based on a peer recommendation.
How much have you invested with them?
I think a rough estimate of cost would be $120,000 to date.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project began around 2015, and the work is still ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their work is pretty good in general. For example, they achieved a 40% improvement in efficiency in one of our in-house apps that captures pictures. The previous version had a fairly poor design that stored images in a database. Trigent enhanced the app by pushing the pictures to the cloud. They’ve also done quite well in working on new cloud technology and agile functionality.
How did Trigent perform from a project management standpoint?
We practice scrum methodology. There were a couple of bumps in the beginning, but they quickly got those ironed out. They're doing quite well now. I spend close to 50% of my time with the Trigent team every week.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their rates are very competitive. I also appreciate their hunger for knowledge. Trigent is great at following directions and adapting to what they’re told. They come up with good solutions and recommendations. They don’t hold back, which is quite welcome.
Are there any areas they could improve?
To be honest, I can't think of anything right now.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They offer good flexibility in terms of staffing needs depending on your workflow. Last year we looked at our plans and realized we didn’t need much of their time, and they were able to dial down the support. We had a huge amount of work at the beginning of this year, so we really appreciate being able to increase the team size on demand.
