What challenge were you trying to address with Together?

We needed help launching a new website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They managed the entire website launch, including design, content, and full implementation. We were launching the site with a brand relaunch, so they designed 25% of the site and needed to re-do all of that imagery to reflect the new brand. It only impacted the deadline by a week and they didn’t charge us more for re-doing everything.

We have one product that serves two sides of the market in completely different ways, which is very difficult to communicate on a website. We needed to separate that UX and Together provided a ton of guidance and best practices on how we could accomplish that.

We worked with five people from their team, including a content writer, a dev resource, a design resource, and their founder.

How did you come to work with Together?

My director of digital did a large scoping process where he evaluated several agencies. We narrowed it down to 3–4 agencies and we liked their designs better than the others. They were also the most cost-effective for what they were willing to do.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2020, and our work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ll be measuring success by traffic and inbound conversions. We just launched, so there’s not a ton of metrics yet. We’ve received really positive feedback. A lot of people mentioned the new site was easy to navigate and modern. It also has great typeface, accent colors, and excellent CTAs.

How did Together perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great. In the past, we’ve been nickel-and-dimed throughout the project when the scope changed, but that wasn’t the case with Together.  They did a great job of managing the schedule. We had a shared Slack channel, weekly calls, and our director of digital was in communication with them throughout the process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their perspective on messaging was great; they came in with a fresh view and wrote all the copy. We loved the copy. Their design and UX was also wonderful. The team is really talented in terms of understanding best practices and implementing them. They’re very accommodating, helpful, and communicative throughout the process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

That week-long delay was communicated later than we would have liked. They should make sure they understand their own timelines. If there are delays, they should let clients know upfront.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to hire them and let them lead. Step back and let them be the experts.

What challenge were you trying to address with Together?

We were looking to build a brand with a business-to-consumer (B2C) feel and flow for our B2B company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a discovery meeting to establish our needs and goals. We provided some documentation regarding UBP, brand guidelines, and company and product vision statements. Together then developed and designed a custom-built WordPress website using PHP. They did the styling and branding to convey our message.

They integrated our website with our CRM and helped with the integration of our message-based onboarding flow. They worked on our pitch deck, did some automation, created a blog page and a style guide, and provided input on the copy and messaging to clients.

We worked together from May–July 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We are still pre-launch. Their help on our pitch deck has aided in the acquiring of investor meetings. We’ve also had positive feedback on the site and the branding; it conveys the message we were hoping it would.

How did Together perform from a project management standpoint?

They were clear about upcoming milestones and communicated well. We used Slack. They were responsive and flexible to all the changes we requested. They delivered what they promised and did so on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were focused, listened well, and asked the right questions to help us achieve our goals. The team did a good job of keeping the project focused, moving towards the prioritized goals.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Together could’ve used a technology stack that was easier for a non-technical person to manage.

They are brilliant and will help you reach your goals in a way that will satisfy you.

Please describe your company and your position there.

My company is a data automation company. We do data automation for CPG retailers to help our clients understand their data better so they can make informed decision to grow their businesses. I work as a senior UX/UI designer in this company, helping to create a smooth user experience and also user interface for our platform products.

My company had just merged with its sister company, also in data automation, but for high street retail. Naturally, we want to rebrand the company as one company.

We had a new name for the newly merged company, but we also need a new set of branding for it. Since we don't have the capacity to do it in-house, we decided to hire Together to help us with the branding development.

To have one unified identity and branding for the newly merged company.

We found Together after a Google search and liked the fact that they work heavily in the tech sector so they know the industry pretty well. Their portfolio shows a strong result in developing brands for tech startups. We shortlisted 2 agencies but based on the criteria above, we decided to select Together.

We worked with Cameron, the founder and strategy director for the first rounds of meetings, to get the goals and requirements aligned. Cameron also needs detailed information about our company so they can understand what we do better.

He also helps to create a strategy for branding. After that Will, the creative director, works very closely with us through Slack in every step and updates of the projects. Reiss, the designer and Tom, the copywriter are also involved directly in the communication.

All communications were done through Slack so everybody from both sides was always updated.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have just launched the new branding internally with a very big reception from everyone across 5 countries. The new identity really reflects what the new company stands for and believe in–and everyone agreed with it. We can't wait to announce it globally to our clients in two weeks time.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was very effective. All communication was done through a Slack channel. Cameron, Will, Reiss and Tom were inside and my company's co-founders were inside as well. We can pop up any questions or updates there.

We also did a weekly check-in with Google meet to see the progress and it would be a time for Will to present the proposals.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They really understand the tech industry, and most importantly, they understand what we are doing and trying to achieve. I, myself, need a few months to understand what my company is really doing.

But they can nail it in a very short time due to their experience and exposure to some other tech companies that doing similar things with us. Another plus point was they are willing to do some extra icons for free :)

Are there any areas for improvement?

There's nothing I can think of now. The way they handled the project from start to finish is very professional.

I’m the co-founder of an employee well-being platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Together?

We were trying to create our app from scratch. So I worked with Together to align on branding and vision of how the platform would look.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a kickoff with them to explain our vision for the business and how it would look from their side, designing the app. Then we had weekly check-ins in which they presented each draft. The app operates on iOS and Android.

The platform has a social element to it. It creates communities of colleagues through groups and company events. It also includes a media library with content surrounding mental health.

How did you come to work with Together?

My co-founder previously worked with the co-founder of Together.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project was completed in three weeks in June 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Now the app is in development and will be released in the next month or so. I couldn’t have been happier in terms of delivery of the project and outcome. We plan to do all of our future work with them.

How did Together perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated through a Slack channel with them and our weekly calls. We also commented on Sigma, the software for the screens. It was excellent. They were very responsive, always on time, and well-prepared for calls. They delivered everything we expected.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re world-class creatives. They’re exceptional when it comes to design. I was also very pleased with their process management.

We have no critiques.

I’m the content marketing manager at Zencargo, a digital freight forwarder and supply chain solutions business.

What challenge were you trying to address with Together?

Within the industry we’re in, there are big businesses that own lots of ships and have been around for a long time. We wanted to be able to build a distinct look, feel, and message for our brand to stand out in the market. 

This is tricky because it’s quite a conservative market, so we needed a partner to help us execute our vision. At the time, the marketing team was just the head of marketing and me, so we also hired Together for bandwidth.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Together helped us to do all of the design and development work for a WordPress website, and they worked from scratch. The team also implemented a new backend design system, Laravel. They built a modular system that allowed us to add in different images and incorporate different blocks.

They did this while also helping to guide the messaging. We relied on them to keep the project forward, and we often came back with a lot of revisions and feedback. The team put our vague thoughts into visual form.

We’d been looking for a lower-cost project with a design agency. Together was recommended to us, and we realized that they were very experienced and professional, and they offered best-in-class, technology-focused websites. So, we decided that they would be worth the extra investment.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from September 2019–January 2020. In the future, we plan to engage with them in new projects.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website was very user-friendly, and the volume of our leads has increased by about 20%. Existing and prospective investors were impressed with the look of the website. 

It’s also been a good asset in terms of building credibility early in the sales cycle. It’s a product that our customers and prospects are proud of. 

How did Together perform from a project management standpoint?

The team’s project management was very strong. Together met all of their deadlines. There was an occasion where third-parties asked for extra designs, and the team made a visible effort to bring the project back on track and to be communicative about where we could speed things up.

We communicated via emails and phone calls, and we also shared a few spreadsheets. At the start of the project, they delivered a stack of Google Docs using templates, and I filled in the copy and headlines for those pages.

Throughout the process, there was a lot of back and forth to improve those pages. Cameron served as the middle person between us and our clients, and Will translated our ideas into designs. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They raised the quality of any idea I brought to the table. Together set a bar for the standards we were looking for, and they made sure that all elements were up to that level. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing is that we had a slight overrun on the project because we had some slow-downs on our end. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Go in with a strong idea of what you want. We wasted a lot of time because we weren’t clear about what we wanted. The clearer your idea, the better they will do.

I’m the director of a consumer electronics services firm.

What challenge were you trying to address with Together?

We wanted to launch a new company website and a new customer portal.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Together developed a standard website with explanations of the services, an about us section, information for the customers about how the claim process works, and an FAQ page. They worked with React to do the WordPress CMS. The second deliverable was a customer portal which is a login section of the website. 

You have to actually be a customer to access that part of the website. We didn’t provide any wireframes or mockups ahead of time. The team added functionality that allows customers to track their parcels and the collections and deliveries. 

They’ll be able to log in to see the status of the repo and when it will be completed. There are a few other things like the inspection reports, what was done to the device, and some video tutorials. Thirdly, they did a general rebranding exercise. 

Together slightly changed the logo we had and used the new logo to produce a number of assets. They created letterheads, business cards, email filters, and consistent branding and theme to move throughout all company stationery communications.

We worked regularly with four teammates. 

How did you come to work with Together?

We did a Google search for web developers and found Together amongst 3–4 other companies. We chose them based on their portfolio of previous work.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent £40,000 pounds (approximately $49,000 USD).

We worked together from October 2019–April 2020.

We were pleased with both the experience of dealing with them and the quality of work they produced. They hit the brief that we set.

How did Together perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication was good, and the project was delivered on time. We had a number of meetings via Google, and we also had a shared Slack channel for instant messaging.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I’d have them improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Expect to do a bit of work upfront. The first couple of weeks are a bit more intense. We had a call with them every couple of days. Be ready for the frontend of the process to be a bit heavier but afterward, Together goes away and leaves you alone while they do the development.

We wanted to generate a new marketing website. We had a website, but it was less authoritative, so we wanted an update.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built us a new website from scratch. This included coming up with an entirely new concept for the design. Their developer built the site in WordPress. 

They also helped localize our site in France since we were beginning to expand there, and we wanted to ensure we had a strong presence.

We have three main points of contact: Ryan (Senior Web Developer), Will (Creative Director), and Cameron (Founder). There were a few other developers and designers that helped along the way. 

How did you come to work with Together?

We received a recommendation from a previous client.

We worked together from June-December 2019. However, they’ve continued to provide maintenance support.

The quality of their development work was very high. It’s not always easy for third-party vendors to understand our company and products. However, they did a great job working with our in-house team to understand what was needed. Their design added a lot of depth and context to our work.

We use a designated Slack channel which worked very well. We don’t typically have to follow up with them because they are responsive and take action. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with their ability to understand the product that we sell. They also have a strong knowledge of selling products for startups. The team was personable and easy to talk to, which made the project run smoothly. 

Are there any areas they could improve? 

No, nothing stands out. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would say that although they’ll work with you, it’s crucial that they understand what you’re selling and what they’re helping you build. This way when they’re working independently, there isn’t any miscommunication.

What challenge were you trying to address with Together?

Our website was very dated from a design perspective. The WordPress backend was also very dated: The site was slow and not user-friendly. The conversion rate was also quite low.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We brought Together on to redesign the website and modernize the Wordpress backend. They also helped fix the usability issues with the ultimate goal of increasing conversion rate. In essence, they rebuilt the entire website, including all the features and functionalities.

They did all the designs from the first wireframe to the final product. The site took our existing branding and infused it with a new design. It’s essentially a new visual identity for the website.

What is the team composition?

We had a main point of contact. As needed, we’d interface with their designers and development team.

How did you come to work with Together?

We liked their aesthetic and they had a competitive price point. I wasn’t involved with the selection process, but our development team was impressed with their development skills.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project began in May 2019. After the redesign was deployed in September, we’ve kept them on retainer and are starting new projects together.

We’ve seen conversions on the site go up by 100% since the project launched. Our team has gotten positive feedback from internal users and customers about the improved look and feel of the website.

How did Together perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s great working with them—everything runs smoothly. We have a shared Slack channel. They are very communicative and always available. In terms of project management, they provided a timeline at the beginning. That timeline was adjusted as needed. They take feedback very well and can implement those things very quickly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a knack for taking something complicated and making it simple and beautiful. I can give them high-level thoughts and they can translate that into a beautiful directive; they don’t need that much direction.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing really. We decided to extend our contract with them because we’re so excited.

Having a strong point of contact to interface with their project manager or account manager is important, but that goes with any type of agency-style engagement.

ClassTag is an online platform that connects parents and teachers, enabling easy parent-teacher communication. I was Head of Marketing at ClassTag, leading the marketing function and team there.

For what projects/services did your company hire Together?

I hired Together to redesign our marketing site: homepage, product page, about page and a few others, as well as to implement the design in Wordpress.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to elevate the brand look and feel, with a fresh new site that we felt put us in the top tier of Edtech companies. We wanted the site to be beautiful, simple to understand and navigate and load quickly. We also wanted it to be easy for multiple stakeholders to find what they're looking for and sign up to use ClassTag.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I was searching for great web and design agencies in the US and the UK. I found Together and really liked the look and feel of their portfolio, and it seemed like a great match for the aesthetic we wanted. Very modern and clean. I had several conversations with Cameron, the founder and we were able to agree a deal that was on budget and within our schedule. He and his partner Will really seemed to get what we were trying to achieve and I felt like working together would be easy and fun.

The project involved:

• planning out a new website structure to reflect the latest brand identity
• Writing the copy for the pages (I undertook this - but Together helped a lot with templates for each page)
• Wireframing and agreeing a first design
• Finalising the design
• Building and implementing the site in Wordpress
• Speed optimization and finishing touches

What was the team composition?

Myself and the founders of ClassTag worked and communicated with Cameron and Will over a shared Slack channel. It worked well and we were able to communicate efficiently.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The page speed ratings were very fast, and the site was very functional, even with very large amounts of traffic (millions). The site is beautiful and hit all of our briefing requirements.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was effective, we managed to finish the entire project just before our deadline in time for a big campaign. It was always going to be tight but we delivered just in time. Cameron and Will really made an effort to get us over the line, which we appreciated.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The way that Together as a brand is reflected in how you work. It was a very collaborative experience, with direct, open lines of communication. When we really needed to hustle to get the website live in time for our deadline, they worked as partners to make sure it happened.

Are there any areas for improvement?

More design options / more diverse possibilities in the ideation stage of the design.

I’m the head of marketing communications at Shepper. We provide smart asset checks to businesses in numerous different industries including property, retail, and financial services. By combining an app and local people, we can check business assets quickly and cost-effectively.

What challenge were you trying to address with Together?

In September 2019, we rebranded our business. We needed a new website. The old platform was a couple of pages that featured our old branding and didn’t have a CMS.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired Together to build our website, growing our platform from two to 20-pages. Their team implemented the latest plug-ins into the backend to support SEO efforts.

Aside from building the site, their team also designed the platform. They helped us structure and execute content including photography. When we started the project, Together had templates of headings, customer testimonials, and support.

Together provided expertise on B2B messaging as their team understood our business challenges. They guided copywriting and created assets.

As we launched the new website our products changed. Together was able to create a product shop mock-up for us.

What is the team composition?

We were in contact with four people in total. In the beginning, we worked with Cameron (Founder, Together) and Will (Creative Director, Together). Cameron was our account manager and brought marketing as well as B2B strategy experience to the project. Will was our designer and an additional person built the website. Reiss (Digital Designer, Together) performed the exploratory work for all our images.

How did you come to work with Together?

My colleague found a comparison website for web agencies on Google, where he came across Together. We looked for an agency with slick design skills that also understood the challenges of a startup in terms of providing a flexible website that would allow us to grow and change as needed. It was important that their team understood the B2B tech industry and could produce a website that didn’t look like any other company’s site.

We looked at their work and were impressed; it was clean and simple. When we met them, the interaction was really dynamic. Together had experience working for B2B businesses, which was valuable.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Together was agile and passionate about what they do. They will work till 2 a.m. to get the product across the finish line. Their team was cognizant of our deadline. They went over and above to meet it and were prepared to make sacrifices to maintain the quality of work.

Their team was really bright.  Will was exceptional. He had a strong eye for visuals and understood what makes a good website clearly. There are different web design trends, but we liked Together because their sites were slick and modern—a key feature of our platform. When we deliberated design routes, Will wasn’t stuck to what he believed was right, which can be difficult when working with an agency.

Cameron’s understanding of B2B marketing and the tech space was valuable. He helped us map out different aspects of the website, providing templates when we started the project. Their team had the layout of each page such as testimonials and calls to action. They explained the structure and backed up their thoughts with benefits and solutions. That knowledge made the design really slick.

How did Together perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a dedicated Slack channel for managing the project, which was one of the reasons the process was speedy. Everyone on the team was able to jump in. Rather than going back and forth via email, we spoke to each other quickly.

For the copy, Together used Google Docs. We were able to collaborate on them easily. They also used either InVision or a similar tool, where we could add feedback on the site’s design. That was a good alternative to written documents.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a positive attitude and are passionate about what they do. They wanted the website to be good and went the extra mile for us. Often, web agencies get caught up in potential extra costs. Together didn’t do that. Their team wanted to get the project right.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could let the client know when their team was running behind or when a decision will impact the timeline. On a project with different stakeholders involved, it can get stressful. Together remained cool and calm throughout the engagement. While their positivity was a strength, it was difficult at times because it could affect our deadlines. They should make the client more aware of the consequences that flipping a date will have.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

We didn’t have the copy ready in advance, which would’ve made the process much easier. There would’ve been fewer design challenges if we had the copy as soon as possible. Make sure the copy is as final as it can be as Together can provide suggestions, applying their design and marketing skills, as well as strategies fast because they have all the information they need to come up with suggestions and conclusions.
