From that pipeline, we apply an eight-stage selection process covering domain review, motivation and conditions fit, technical assessment scored across knowledge, problem-solving, communication, and speed, and international readiness evaluation. The full process spans 700 hours of assessment and training. Fewer than 1 in 20 applicants make it through. By the time an engineer joins your team, they have already been evaluated against the standards US technology companies work at. The hard questions are answered before the engagement starts.

We built our delivery model specifically around the US East Coast working day. Every engagement includes a guaranteed 5-hour overlap window — 8am to 1pm Eastern time — during which our engineers are available for standups, live code reviews, and real-time blocker resolution. Outside the overlap window, every end-of-day handoff is documented to a standard your engineers can read in under five minutes. Sprint reviews happen weekly with all stakeholders present. You always know where the work stands. Every engagement also includes a dedicated Tenacious project manager who is accountable for the engagement running smoothly. You are not managing the team. We are. Our engineers work from a physical office in Addis Ababa — not a remote-only setup — with colleagues, infrastructure, backup power, and backup internet built in. Ethiopian public holidays are communicated at the start of every engagement with sprint continuity plans already in place.

Most engagements follow three steps. First, a quick scoping call — typically 30 minutes — where we learn how your team works, what you are building, and what good looks like to you. We ask specific questions about your stack, your sprint structure, your cloud platform, and your current team size. Second, we match against our existing talent pool and deliver a curated shortlist within 24 to 48 hours. You can conduct your own technical interview if you want to — we prepare our engineers with full context on your stack before that call. Third, your engineer joins the team. Tools and calendar are aligned. They are contributing within 14 business days. Every outsourcing engagement starts with a one-week no-cost trial. If the fit is not right within the first two weeks, we replace the engineer at no extra charge.

He co-founded 10 Academy in 2017 and Tenacious in 2021. Dr. Yabebal Fantaye holds a PhD in Cosmology from the International School for Advanced Studies in Italy. He is a WEF Young Scientist and Next Einstein Forum Fellow. At a London-based AI firm, he built a data science team from zero, drove an 18% margin improvement worth over $2 million, and saved 2,500 person-hours annually through AI automation. He co-founded 10 Academy alongside Arun. Both founders are directly involved in every engagement. You are not assigned to an account manager.

Every Tenacious engagement is backed by a minimum of $1 million in insurance coverage. All costs are consolidated into a single monthly invoice with no hidden fees. There are no locked-in contracts before you have completed the no-cost trial period. On the operational side, every engagement includes a dedicated project manager, weekly syncs with transparent reporting on progress and blockers, built-in quality control reviews and audits throughout the engagement, and a replacement guarantee — if an engineer is not working out, we replace them swiftly at no extra charge. Our engineers work from a physical office in Addis Ababa with backup power and backup internet infrastructure, meaning connectivity issues on our side do not become delivery issues on yours.
