The Techtic team was very responsive to our initial call for support and were willing to put several developers on the account to support quick timelines. We like that we can ramp up or ramp down the dev needs depending on our internal needs.

I provide all ai files and wireframes, and the team takes and implements for functionality. At times, the team will request counsel from the internal UX team to support on hard-to-navigate requests to ensure best practices and UI.

We typically interact with the sales manager, who also provides updates on project updates, as well as the project manager.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The team's implementation of our new design resulted in an intial (6 month) increase of close to 3x higher Conversion Rates. Since then, CRs have decreased but the team is helping us to implement our ideas to update to increase CRO, including developing new page layouts, updating PDPs, and content updates.

We communicate mostly through email for project briefs, will hop on a video call as necessary to explain content or complex ideas, and then via Slack for any of-the-moment feedback needs.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team is quick and agile. Typically, they are able to move forward several projects at once, which is critical for small businesses trying to scale.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Additional counsel would be appreciated. Since our team does all the design and layout, we would like to see more proactive insight from the Techtic team on best practices or areas for improvement to increase our CROs.

We wanted to streamline the online ordering process of our company.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Techtic Solutions Inc created a website for us where our customers can go online and place orders directly from our platform. The first part of the project was to get the website up and running with an online picture-framing module. That module is dedicated solely to our business and provides an interactive interface for customers to upload their images and frame them online.

Regarding technologies, they developed the site in WordPress, but they did the coding for the online picture-framing module using PHP, among other programming languages.

Currently, we’re still using them for constant updates and upgrades to the website.

They’ve been able to deliver according to my requirements, and I consider that a success.

Regarding project management, they’re great at communicating through emails and Skype; they’re always on call whenever I ask for a catch-up or a booking and keep us updated on the process and milestones we set. In terms of meeting deadlines, they’re very good and meet my expectations while adapting to the project’s constant changes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very honest and work with us as a business partner because they want our business to succeed, which will eventually help them to grow as well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’ve been meeting my requirements, so I don’t think there’s anything they could improve on.

Specify your requirements and be communicative — the more details you provide, the easier it will be for both parties to meet your expectations.

Techtic Solutions has been up to the challenge; they’ve been on top of things from the beginning. The team listens to our needs and has stuck to our requests regarding design. Their version of the website isn’t up yet, so we don’t have quantitative metrics.

Techtic Solutions has significantly improved our website’s design; the site is more responsive and appealing to users. Since they’ve just completed the project, we don’t have enough data to measure conversions, but we’ve been pleased with the improvements.

Techtic Solutions performed well from a project management perspective; they consistently met deadlines and worked within our budget. We communicated via email and Zoom.

Techtic Solutions was a responsible partner who asked the right questions. Even from our initial call, it was clear that they had solid website development expertise. Ultimately, they offered high-quality services for a reasonable price, which we appreciated.

Techtic Solutions could’ve been more proactive with design suggestions.

I advise carrying out your own visual design work and engaging Techtic Solutions for the implementation piece. I wouldn’t rely on them for the design aspects.

I'm the owner and creator of Amy Delson Jewelry. I sell uncommon handmade pieces incorporating gems, talismans, new and vintage elements.

I want to improve the conversion rate of my e-commerce jewelry site. I engaged Techtic to do an overall analysis and then make suggestions and fulfill them to improve the overall user experience and SEO of my site.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I spoke to several developers and it was no comparison because Techtic has so much depth to their team. Their customer service and communication is beyond any other, with quick reply and interactive ways to transfer ideas effectively.

Our project is ongoing. It was initiated by some productive initial meetings and we were right to work. Homepage redesign, product page improvements, digital marketing and SEO improvements are all underway.

I was impressed because I was given the opportunity to speak with and meet the CEO of the company directly. I have a wonderful account coordinator, and an SEO team of which I have met a key leading person. I am also in communication with the coding and development team, and my point person in that department.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I have actionable steps that I am working on and can implement as I add and revise products. As someone with too much on their plate it is helpful to know I have a team behind me who is responsive and is as passionate about my jewelry and site as I am.

We are a productive unit working together. I appreciate our weekly Monday morning web conference meetings and the ongoing communication we have. Between email, Whatsapp, Figma, shared timesheets and weekly reports, they are on top of details and communicate progress well.

I'm impressed by their talent depth, authentic concern for clients, and positive communication and management style.

I can't think of any at this time.

We needed experienced web app developers to continue the development of our application, since we didn’t have time to do it ourselves.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I’d already built the template for the app, and they worked off of that foundation. At its core, the product is a directory that lists businesses on a map within someone’s local area. People can also set notifications for appointments they have and available appointments. They’ve offered to do SEO for me as well, but we’re just doing web development for now.

I work with three people: a sales resource and general manager, a developer, and a QA manager.

I found them through a LinkedIn connection. Techtic reached out to me, and after a few discussions, we were convinced of their cost and abilities.

The cost is around $25,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since March 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve done a great job of following through on their assigned tasks and creating the correct interfaces. When we don’t spell out exactly what we’re looking for, however, we find that there isn’t QA being done, and bugs will slip through. This has gotten a bit better as we’ve moved forward together. The majority of their development time now is spent on fixing bugs, versus developing new features. In terms of the functioning of the site, I’m satisfied with Techtic’s deliverables.

How did Techtic Solutions Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

We have to do more of the project management on our side to keep the project going. It’s a bit missing from their side. Asana is our preferred tool; they put their tasks into there, and we also use Google Docs and Slack. Google Meet also helps with our communication  

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a huge talent pool to pull from, which is very unique.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’re on opposite sides of the world, so time zone differences are a challenge, especially with the other services I might hire them for. If I wanted to work with them on SEO, I would need them to be on calls.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You’ll have to be a full project manager for them, as there hasn’t been much project management from their side. There were times when I had to step in and help their developer create solutions. It feels very much like they’re similar to any other employee.

We hired Techtic to do web development on a few projects. Our goal was to have efficient development services and to foster an ongoing business relationship with the company for development work.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I was personally contacted by the Techtic team and decided to work with them because there were managers in place within the company to oversee the work. This was important to me to ensure things were being done with accountability.

We had a kickoff meeting atthe start of the project and continued communication via email and my project management tool. I began to feel disconnected and requested additional meetings to discuss the work being done, and they did accommodate my requests.

A project manager and developer worked with me and communicated with me directly. I believe there might have also been others working behind the scenes.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

In refrence to timing, the work was done in a timely manner. There are times when I would put a task in and it would be completed the next business day.

It seeme that they will communicate via email or slack unless meetings are requested. It is not standard that cameras are left on-I feel personally that in a meeting cameras shoud be on, but this was not the case unless you request it during a meeting. However, the project manager was very nice and did communicate regular updates via email and slack. They also use Whats App, but I do not use this app so they were kind enough to communicate with me in my preferred communication methods.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have good rates and get the work done quickly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Perhaps I could have specified that I'd like things like global styles and templates in some areas, but I assumed this was standard practice, to do as much globally and with CSS and default preseta before making inline changes. However I did not specify this in my communication with them, so moving forward I will be sure to do that.

How did Techtic Solutions Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

Techtic Solutions Inc’s project management was good. However, we experienced some difficulties with communication. They were from India, and I was from Latin America, and we were both trying to speak English. Nonetheless, we managed despite that. We communicated through emails and video conferences. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Techtic Solutions Inc’s app development expertise was impressive. They did the project in a short amount of time, and they were reliable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have improved their communication with clearer and more organized emails. That said, the partnership was generally good.

I’m the CEO of Flux Branding, a branding and design agency. We do a lot of digital web development and other types of campaigns.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techtic Solutions Inc?

We've had a number of different in-house technical teams in the past, but we had a lot of different needs and we couldn’t afford to maintain an adequate bench of different disciplines when we're doing digital development. 

We needed a company that could provide us with different types of resources on a variable need basis.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We use Techtic Solutions Inc for our technical development needs, specifically when we need to develop digital applications that are more than just standard web development. My internal team handles simple web development, such as brochureware sites, but we use Techtic Solutions Inc when we’re doing anything that requires advanced functionality.

We build a lot of WordPress sites, so Techtic Solutions Inc develops a lot of custom WordPress plug-ins and other integrations into other systems for us. They also work on advanced custom fields (ACF), which is a platform that we use extensively within WordPress, and regularly help us develop custom web apps on Node.js and Angular.

Aside from that, they do a little bit of design work for us as well. Because we're essentially a design studio, we're extremely focused on the user interface. Most of the user interface comes from us, and Techtic Solutions Inc is tasked with implementing them and handling all the technical work. In many cases, this involves creating variations of the user interface that we've given them.

What is the team composition?

We work with an account manager, a project manager, and a business analyst from Techtic Solutions Inc. We also work with three developers and a few other people that handle the QA.

How did you come to work with Techtic Solutions Inc?

We have been working with Techtic on and off for about 10 years. Our partnership began with them just doing web maintenance for us, which involved fixing issues and optimizing the site. Over time, their business has grown and so have ours, but we’ve managed to maintain and even broaden the scope of our partnership.

We started working together in January 2012, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Techtic Solutions Inc provides a tremendous amount of latitude, and our clients have been really impressed that we can respond to their needs in so many different ways. We have so much technical horsepower for a creative company. I don’t think we would be the company we are today if it wasn’t for Techtic Solutions Inc.

In addition to that, one project that we developed together for a client has now become a digital platform that we've launched for other clients as well. Techtic Solutions Inc has been a major partner on that — they have a dedicated team that is only working on that particular digital project.

How did Techtic Solutions Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

Techtic Solutions Inc’s project management is very good. We have strong project management ourselves, so it's important that we take the lead on project management. So far, they've been very responsive to our lead.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Techtic Solutions Inc’s technical knowledge and competence are impressive. They’ve been able to provide creative solutions to problems. They’re also personable and incredibly easy to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes, we do have to go through a couple of rounds of iteration in order to get a certain product in the way that we wanted it. I think this may have resulted from how we communicated in the early stages of the project. All of our overseas teams work in different ways, culturally speaking, so finding that cultural fit for us took a while.

Even though we’ve had challenges in our relationship, we’ve always found a way to get through them. At the end of the day, we have a 10-year relationship, and I definitely consider them a strong partner. I don't think that we would be able to do what we do if we didn't have our relationship with Techtic Solutions Inc.

AQF is a financial services company that’s looking to improve financial investment standards internationally for general businesses. We give our customers a platform to invest small sums of money based on our advice. We’re a newly formed company as part of a joint venture with a number of parties that have experience with financial advisory, technical solutions, and service delivery.

As the CTO, I deal with anything related to software development, project management, and the UI. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Techtic Solutions Inc?

My brother and I came up with the idea for the application that we were building. We needed a software company that we could trust and create a relationship with to help create the app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Techtic Solutions Inc developed our web app using our project specs, going over our base ideas and what we were looking for in terms of outcomes. Our goal was to get a definable product that met the requirements of customers who were looking to invest. We gave the team a lot of products and worked with them to figure out how to best align our target customer with the end solution.

Since then, they’ve provided full-stack development support for our team. They’ve written code and have also provided engineering assistance to get our product uploaded into our development and live platforms, using products like Linode. Finally, they’ve ensured that the product itself is mobile-friendly.

What is the team composition? 

There have been about 10 people at different times. We’ve had about 3–4 developers, a couple of QA specialists, and a project manager. There’s a service person, too. Most of our interaction has been with the management side of things and the individual developers.

How did you come to work with Techtic Solutions Inc?

We stumbled across Techtic Solutions Inc on LinkedIn and had numerous meetings with their development team to make sure that their processes and ideas aligned with our own. They were very flexible and open to anything that we could throw at them.

I also liked how they were set up with a larger development team in India while still having an office in New York. Our partners had offices there, as well, so we had a bit more assurance that we could gain contacts. They were really positive and understood our vision. In the end, we were confident in moving forward with their team.

How much have you invested with them?

Currently, we’ve spent around $30,000. We’re trying to get to a point where we’re in the market and can start having customers. The expectation is that Techtic Solutions Inc will continue to be our partner for this product as more development goes their way.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since the first quarter of 2019. They built the first part of the application about two years ago, and we’ve worked on the second half over the past year.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve been nothing but helpful in all of our interactions. We haven’t had many bugs, and if there are any, they understand to prioritize them by the following meeting. Most of the changes we’ve made to the product have focused on aligning certain elements to our end goal.

How did Techtic Solutions Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management side has always been on track. They’ve met all deadlines, with the exception of a few slippages. However, those have been due to slight changes in scope rather than their team. 

We work in an agile method, hosting weekly calls throughout the project to look at what we’ve done over the previous week, set our priorities for the following week, and discuss any changes we need to make. Generally, the development leads complete those tasks by the following meeting.

Beyond that, they use Jira to manage their internal work and emails for anything pressing that I need to do.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their knowledge of various technical options helps them stand out. For example, we’ve been looking into authentication and payment services that customers would already be using (e.g., DocuSign, PayPal) rather than investing in our own bespoke product. Techtic Solutions Inc’s insight on those products has been excellent because they’ve used them before. 

This also allows them to suggest the simplest ways to move our project forward. We’ll say what we roughly want, and they’ll give us a number of options on how we might deliver that. In that sense, it’s really been a developing partnership.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Having a standard report each week might be good, but that’s more to show my partners in the organization.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re going to work with an outsourced team, your objectives need to be clear. Make sure they understand what your overall end goal is. As long as you’re confident that you can keep the communication line clear and positive, then you’ll be fine.
