Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a web development agency. We created our own CMS 20 years ago, and we’ve constantly redefined it since then. We deploy it on a client-by-client basis. I’m a director in the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with TatvaSoft?

We had in-house engineers when we first created the solution 18–20 years ago. We were constantly doing cutting-edge stuff, so the local engineers we were using would gain experience and then get poached. We’d have to start all over again, training people from the start. 

I started looking for outsourcing companies around 10 years ago, and I engaged TatvaSoft. The solution we were developing was developer-agnostic, so we started working from the get-go, and we’ve never looked back. That has absolved us from worrying about people getting poached.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our CMS is akin to having a Lego system. We fabricated its functionalities and boundaries, within which we help clients develop whatever system they need. That could be an e-commerce or internal payment system for a company. We make deployments for the pharmaceutical industry, and we implement the CMS to work as a web channel for SAP. TatvaSoft’s team implements features as per our requirements.

We utilize a host of web technologies, including Laravel PHP. We also use Java, and we have a MySQL database.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with around seven people from TatvaSoft. I speak to their management if I need more resources, but my day-to-day communication is with the software engineers.

How did you come to work with TatvaSoft?

I looked at a couple of companies and evaluated their past work. I’m in the same industry, so I could raise questions when someone talked about their work. Most people weren’t able to tell me what parts of a project they’d worked on exactly. TatvaSoft had a straightforward approach, and there were no cryptic elements in their descriptions.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost so far is $150,000, or a bit more.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with TatvaSoft around July 2010, and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

One of the metrics we care about the most is being able to achieve clients’ objectives. We have a prebuilt tool that TatvaSoft works on to create versions of it for different clients. It can differ a lot from one client to another in terms of how it’s applied. We’ve been successful every time; otherwise, we wouldn’t have continued working with TatvaSoft.

How did TatvaSoft perform from a project management standpoint?

We do project management on our side. If we have a five-month project, we’ll divide it into 1–2–week sprints, which TatvaSoft will manage. They do pretty well on that, and they deliver everything we ask them to.

We use our in-house project management tools. The present team at TatvaSoft has been with me for two years, so we know each other very well, and they’re pretty much adapted to our tools. I do know that they have their own in-house tools as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Prior to onboarding TatvaSoft, we brought in developers as we needed them, on a project-by-project basis. What I realized after switching over to TatvaSoft is that it’s actually great to have a developer turn up for work every day. It means that we have continuity around improving our tools. Before, we only worried about jobs, and we brought in developers for specific purposes. We tended to not entertain the betterment of the application that much. Now, we’re able to do so, and it’s proven to be a good bet for our side in the long run.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s always room for improvement, but we communicate on a daily basis with them about whatever needs to be done. If I need to change something or something new comes up, I’ll communicate instantly with TatvaSoft. I can’t think of any improvements right now.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Anyone looking to outsource needs to have the right person to interconnect with the resource.

The company has been very good to work with over the last 13 years. I have only had three different programmers to work with over that time so turnover of staff has been low (a good thing). Without this software our business could not have grown.

Project management was sound although I must admit that I do the majority of the supervision of the programmers (I check with that person almost every day).

They are very competitive from a price and productivity perspective.

I would have liked the 3D animation upgrades to have been done better, which would have probably meant a change in the 3D kernel.

I’m the managing director of a software development company in Germany. We develop our own ERP and POS systems for jewelers and watchmakers.

What challenge were you trying to address with TatvaSoft?

We have two main developers here in Germany, but we needed a bigger, outsourced team because we are in the middle of rolling out a completely new version of our software. We’re on more of the landscape side of Germany, and it is hard to find developers who will work in this region.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

TatvaSoft is the second company we have worked with from India. When they started working with us, we wanted to meet them in-person, so we flew them over to work with our developers more closely for three months. 

They supply an enormous team. We develop using Microsoft technologies, such as the .NET framework and the MS SQL Server. We also use Ionic 2 and 3 for the development of our mobile app. Developing native iOS and Android apps has been one opportunity that we only got when we outsourced the development.

What is the team composition?

Right now, we have 10 developers and one project manager. The testing is done by our team here.

How did you come to work with TatvaSoft?

When we got the full picture of the other company we were working with before and saw they'd never provide the result we wanted, we started Googling. If I remember correctly, I wrote to six companies in India, and TatvaSoft was the first to answer. 

How much have you invested in them?

We are at nearly $300,000. It is quite a large investment.

We began with them in January 2019. We are still working with them and plan to continue working with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We feel that we are much faster. With two developers, reprogramming our software wouldn’t have worked. With TatvaSoft, we are rolling things out, and we now have more than 200 customers using our full new version. When there is a bug or if something isn’t going really well, there is no question of fixing it; they will just do it, and this is the philosophy we want. The developers and the support background they offer are just super. Whenever we have an idea, they make it happen.

How did TatvaSoft perform from a project management standpoint?

It has been super nice. I only contact the project manager when I see something is not going well, and that is maybe twice a year. It is always a super fast response from our point of contact.

My colleague and I have day-to-day communication with the developers directly. We have daily meetings with them. We usually use GoToMeeting to communicate with them. Each week, we put new goals in Excel that they need to reach. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

It is a pleasure to work with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When we need to hire new people, we ask for experienced developers because we don’t want to have to spend a lot of time explaining things. Of the 15 people we have worked with, there were two who weren’t that experienced and didn’t understand what they needed to do. This hasn't happened often, but sometimes, their resources are less experienced. Of course, they are also trying to get some experience, but then they should be more in the background. The more experienced people should be on top, as they understand the requirements and the needs, and they can help those with less experience. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have open communication with them. If we see that something is not going the way we want it to, we just call them or send them an email and tell them honestly what we are thinking. We can see from the reaction we get that they really take it seriously, and they try to solve the situation directly.

Tatvasoft has expereinced and certified Magento team which was best fit for complex advancement. We were been discussing with expereinced resource who analysed our systen and we hired him for further enhacement work.

Initially we hired a magento expert who helped with our existing webshop for redesigning functionality, integrating or developing new plugins, extensions.

What was the team composition?

At start there was a Project manager and an Analyst involved for 1st week, and after system undersanding there was a senior Megento developer and designer added in the team.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We have been receiving positive reviews from our partners, customers. We also had visits and conversions increased.We have a stable, modern platform that’s easily managible and scalable now.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Assigned developer was sending daily report over email and changes were visible on staging to check from my end. Project manager was timely taking feedback from me and look after the progress with developer. At the time where they had to replace developer, they managed knowledge transfer without any hinderance and they evaluated the deliveries as welll. I am very pleased with their approach to maintain tranparancy, quality service and incident reporting beforehand for any obstecals or findings.

We are very impressed with their proficiency and integrity. As well as the quality of service with flexibility to provide us additional support on demand.

I’m the managing director of Med Travel Corporate. We are an SME (small–medium-sized enterprise) that deals with medical tourism. We bring in patients, primarily from Eastern European countries, for medical treatment.

What challenge were you trying to address with TatvaSoft?

We needed a web application to help manage patient records, billing, and more in one platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

TatvaSoft built a custom web application with a Microsoft SQL Server. They did front- and backend development and design. The web app helps manage the recording of medical data, patient billing, doctor billing for marketing, and more. When patients come for health screenings, the app allows us to track and record all of their information, including their activity during their visit. Once they completed the app, they made modifications and worked on two other projects.

What is the team composition?

Jigar (Project Manager) was the project lead. There was a distant development manager overseeing a team of four people. 

How did you come to work with TatvaSoft?

We reached out to several companies and accepted bids for the project. We really liked the CMMI Level 3 certification from Microsoft that this team had, as well as the demos they showed of projects they’d completed previously. They were professional and seemed to really know what they were talking about.

How much have you invested with them?

My company spent $65,000

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from May 2016–March 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

From the start, they delivered in every aspect. The team was coordinated. The project manager really knew his stuff and communicated very well throughout, allowing the project to run smoothly and continuously. We’re very pleased with the web application. 

How did TatvaSoft perform from a project management standpoint?

They managed the project in a transparent, cost-effective manner. We communicated in real-time via Skype, allowing for immediate feedback. I had access to the entire team, not just the project manager. They also sent weekly reports and updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

A key thing to me was the constant feedback and open communication. TatvaSoft delivered excellently in this area. They are a very reliable partner, and I would be happy to work with them again in the future.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One thing that would be an advantage to them is more business knowledge. They understood all of the IT requirements, but sometimes the solutions they implemented didn’t make sense from a business perspective and had to be redone.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Plan and outline in detail to help them get the full understanding of your requirements and expectations. A selling point for working with them is their constant communication and the availability of their whole team.
