Influencer Scalability Study
What's the scalability of Influencer Marketing as a performance media and how increasing budgets impact CAC?

These are our main findings:
- With more budget, the CAC stabilized.
- The CAC not only did not increase with higher budgets but slightly decreased.
- It's hard to saturate influencers, especially when working in big markets and a wide range of content verticals.

I am Offline Marketing Manager at Blinkist. Blinkist is an App that takes the key insights from over 3,000 nonfiction bestsellers in over 27 categories and gathers them together in 15-minute Blinks—text and audio explainers that help you understand more about the core ideas.
For what projects/services did your company hire TATAM Digital?
We were looking to explore the social media marketing and add the channel into our Performance Marketing. We needed to focus in the market research, advertising opportunities and understand the Channel itself to draw a long term strategy.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to test the channel at first and scale it gradually meanwhile achieving a sustainable return on investment.
How did you select TATAM Digital?
We have done our research in finding a social media agency and pitch few agencies. Within 4 agencies who present us their solution to our request, we selected Tatam for a limited period of time as a test period.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
After we selected this agency, we communicated our objectives, Brand values and our expectations. We then had several meetings to integrate our process, build a short term strategy, tracking possibilities and reporting to find the best practice.
What was the team composition?
Different teams were involved from Performance, Brand and Content to work in this project. The vendor has given us reasonable number of their employees to work in this project and their team grow with the project.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
It took us few months to achieve our goals (mainly ROI) and we found the best strategy for Blinkist. We could also scale the channel as per our plan.
In addition we also have found the solid base for evaluating Influencers and measuring their impact in our media plan.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The whole communication was transparent and direct. We had several changing in the workflow in order to find the best process specially at every scaling stage.
The vendor is always flexible and ready to find the solution.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I was happy to find the vendor very good listeners with analytical mindset that tries to come up with possible solutions. They understands our needs and try to match their services and support to our expectation and go beyond.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We communicate any areas of improvement through our monthly reviews and always find a new process.

TATAM helped us identify relevant influencers in the segments we were interested in. They handled outreach, pitching, scheduling, reviewing, and payments. They also helped us create proposed talking guides and contracts with influencers.
What was the team composition?
I've worked closely with the founders, as well as some managers and account managers on the team.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We were able to get our initial user base from the work we did with TATAM. This allowed us to learn a lot about what kind of users got the most value from our product.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Effective. We had a shared spreadsheet and Slack channel, and they were good about following-up.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We love how much the founders of TATAM cared about us and our product. They came to visit us, and that meant a lot to us! They were also always open to feedback and adjustments.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Sometimes it felt like we were being handed off too frequently to new account managers, and there wasn't a lot of consistency in the leads identified. We brought up this concern to TATAM and after this, we were able to secure an experienced AM who produced consistently vetted, great opportunities.

We were looking for a partner to developt campaigns across Influencers channels, but with the challenge of finding one with a model that allowed us to compare those channels against networks as Facebook Ads, Google ads, etc. WE ended up working together with several clients, from different industries, Health Apps, Gaming Apps, Business looking for Leads, Financials Online Platforms.

Our main goal was being able to achieve results measurable over hard to measure networks. Like Attribution of App Purchases inside an App after someone watch an Influencer Campaign, or the Real Reach & Impact of a Youtube Video made by an influencer on their own channel(where we are not able to measure).

They focused on everything related Influencers Campaigns, from Planning(finding the best ones according to business target), to Excecution, with the remarcable side of developing great reportings to understand the real results and being able to optimice month after month.

I've worked mainly with the directors of TATAM, but also our teams were involved with their teams in daily operation.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We growth several business, improving their results over the Branding aspect of their campaigns where they barely measure anything, suddenly their were able to understand which Influencer was the ideal one for them based on real results, which ended up resulting in a better budget allocation achieving better results in term of Costs per Acquisition.

They both work greatly together from the begging, it's easier when both teams speak the same "performance" language since we all ended up going after the same KPIs.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Both their profound knowledge about influencers all around the globe and different networks (really hard to find), and the models they used to understand their results, adapted to micro and macro influencers were impressive.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I believe that technology and more data will improve their models, it's like and algorithm thats learning and getting better each day, they should keep doing that.
