The discovery phase lasted several weeks and included interviews with key audience members and stakeholders from our business to learn about their perspectives and experiences with college athletic recruiting. The interviews included coaches, athletic directors, student-athletes, aspiring student-athletes, former collegiate student-athletes, and parents of those athletes. Taillight was thorough in gathering information and market intelligence to support their strategic work.

After the discovery phase, Taillight worked on our brand strategy and positioning and then designed and developed our brand identity.

Taillight’s work exceeded our expectations. The team was professional and talented, and their experience has been impressive. I didn't receive a referral to work with Taillight and selected them based on my conversations with the team. I was really impressed by our initial conversations with Taillight about their competencies, experience, and contributions.

Taillight was always on schedule. We communicated via Google Meet and email. Taillight's budget was comfortable for our startup, and they were very accommodating with my budget parameters for this level of expertise they've brought to the project.

We are in the process of launching a flagship offering that we wanted to emphasize as something special and different. To that end, we wanted to create a unique brand name that would help us to elevate this offering above our typical ones. 

We engaged Taillight to help us create that name. Their work started with multiple interviews of key team members involved in this particular initiative in order to outline our criteria for name creation, including preferences, and styles to explore. 

Taillight then created hundreds of candidates, conducted some preliminary legal checks, and presented the best options to the full team, ultimately leading to the selection of a final name.

Although this offering hasn’t publicly launched yet, there has been widespread acceptance and adoption of the name throughout the organization, which, especially for a company of this size, is a great indicator of success.

The scope of work began with comprehensive brand positioning, followed by visual identity work. The brand positioning phase included a robust discovery process where Taillight immersed themselves in understanding our competitive landscape. They conducted thorough stakeholder interviews to gain insights into the industry, client needs, competitive differentiation, and what makes our brand unique. 
This deep dive informed the several ‘big idea’ concepts they presented which all, in some way, spoke exactly to who we are and we settled with the concept that we felt most closely resonated with the brand we’re building. Taillight then assisted with refining the language around the positioning and brand pillars they created which created a robust foundation for the subsequent visual identity work. 

They kicked this phase off with another discovery call where they then put together a design brief that beautifully captured who we are, our brand positioning and all our design preferences. Key deliverables included creating a new logo with eight unique concepts and over 10 refined variations, developing a typography system and color palette, and designing a streamlined style sheet for consistent brand deployment. 
Taillight also created a PowerPoint template tailored for keynotes, client pitches, and internal presentations. As a complimentary bonus, they animated our logo, adding a dynamic element that enriched our digital and multimedia presence. This extensive and meticulously executed scope of work significantly transformed our brand identity and market presence.
