I'm the owner of 4Ever Roses. We supply flowers, specifically roses, to convenience stores and gas stations. We deliver to 800 locations across five states and are compensated for the roses sold.

What challenge were you trying to address with Softqube Technologies?

We used paper invoices to track our stock, what had been sold, and the money we collected from serviced locations. Once I received the invoices from my drivers, I had to input all the information into our tracking program to ensure the invoices and money collected from the locations were correct. Everything was done manually, and I needed to automize the process.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Softqube Technologies streamlined our invoicing process by developing a simple Android application we can use on a tablet. However, before they started the project, I met with their team to discuss how my business was run. Once the app's first iteration was done, we ran testing before launch. 

With the app, all our drivers have to do is input the relevant information when they drop off and pick up roses at serviced locations, and a bill is automatically printed. Since our customers get the invoice immediately, they can pay immediately. Our drivers can then see the running total of how much money they've collected from our locations via the app. There is also a function that gives drivers directions to the next location they have to be at.

We needed help with developing a custom software piece for our daily operations that met all our requirements. Among the functionalities required were a check-in and check-out functionality, a CRM system for sales, and more.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Softqube has developed a custom software system for us from scratch. We started off our project with a meeting for them to understand our business requirements. At that meeting, we also talked about the features we wanted. Based on our requirements, they created a project plan.

This software helps us operate our entire business, from back-office operations, sales, and housekeeping services management to checkouts and inventory management. It also has a customer-facing mobile app.

One of our software’s main functions for our back-office operations is a property management system. Customers use the mobile app to access their monthly bill payments, and they can rate or leave comments about our services during their stay.

Softqube used .NET and AWS as the technology stack for development. They were also in charge of the platform’s UI/UX design, as well as the design for the mobile app. Although the product has already been launched, we’re currently working on phase three of this project.

We meet with Softqube on a scheduled meeting basis to ensure things are getting done. They’re very good at meeting their deadlines, although we’ve had a couple of delays due to some changes we’ve requested. We use Trello to manage the project.

Softqube excels at customer support; they provide support very quickly.

When we first launched the product, we found some issues. It would be good if Softqube took more time to sort bugs and do a more thorough QA so that when the next version is released, testing could be much easier for us.

Be very clear on what you want, understand your requirements, and share them with Softqube. Additionally, get the flows very clear and log the timelines accordingly.

Softqube helped us build our proprietary revenue management platform. The hotel industry is fragmented and contains many different brands, making it challenging to access data. Our concept is to streamline data into one place. Our concept is streamlining data into one place because data inside the hotel industry is very fragmented and hard to access.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Softqube helped us develop a platform that aggregates data across many different hotel and property management and revenue management systems. They helped us with both back- and frontend work. The technologies they used were Microsoft SQL, .NET, C#, and the platform was hosted on AWS.

We work primarily with about 3–4 developers at any given time. Three of them have been with us since the very beginning; they have really low turnover. We have some developers that really understand the product.

Softqube was originally building websites for us. Early on in 2013, we had this idea to build a major platform, so I asked Hari (Managing Director)  if they had the skill set to develop a web-based platform. They were the first ones to take our ideas and spreadsheets to bring them into the cloud.

We have worked with Softqube for more than five years. Work on this project started in April 2014. We still work with them but in a more limited capacity. We’ve grown enough to take the products in-house.

The main metric is the fact that we started the platform with five hotels in 2014, and we now have over 650 hotels on the platform. They have been instrumental in building and supporting that platform.

We communicate with them primarily through Monday.com, a project management board, and we use GitHub for the code repository.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We have a really great relationship with Hari. He is very approachable and caring. If we ever have an issue with the current development, he makes himself available and gets on calls with the teams. He even travels to our office annually, so he is really great and trustworthy. The team seems to care about the product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

This isn’t necessarily their fault, but the time zone and communication are sometimes difficult — we’re in the US, and they’re in India. However, we overlap for a few hours in the morning, which helps. Other than that, they should just stay current with the latest technologies and continue finding new solutions to problems. 

Any advice for potential customers?

I recommend that you come up with good project management software, and you really need to engage with them on a daily basis to get what you want. Stay in touch with them to keep the product moving forward.

Global Carting Services company’s main lines of business are operating food & beverage outlets, Retail and whole seller as well as manufacturing food products. With a network of over 50 outlets, Global Carting Services are considered as one of the most successful food & beverage operators in the United Arab of Emirates.

Each Branch receives Tips from their customers based on the Quality and Services. Based on the Tip received, Global Carting Services adds Incentive which is based on Quality, Sales, Customer Satisfaction and Cost.

The Incentive is added for each Branch at end of the Month. This incentive is added by the Brand Manager for the Branches of the Brand or Operation Manager for all the Branches for each Brand.

Their quality and customer service are outstanding. There are mistakes and issues in any project, but it’s important how it gets handled after the fact. They were right on top of any issues, taking care of them. Our customer was quite impressed, and the relationship is ongoing because of it.

They were efficient. They use Jira and Basecamp. They also adopted a flow from Asana, which was particularly helpful in keeping the overall project on track and measuring progress along the way. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their customer service is phenomenal. There were some components on Silverlight and .NET where there was a debate between different charting tools. In three days, they presented three different demo projects to show the aesthetics, interaction, and speed of each demo to help simplify the decision and meet the customer’s needs.

I don’t really have any complaints. However, due to them being offshore, communication requires a little patience.

For any offshore vendor, I suggest not to make it a one-step process. Give a small proof of concept to work on, and see how they perform. I do recommend trying this company; they bring good value for the money.

They also created a management system that involved three components including a mobile app and a web portal. So far, we’ve done five projects together. The scope starts with requirement gathering, which we’ve collaborated to do. Then, we proceed with analysis and plan the entire development.
