I’m the co-founder of a hotel revenue management software and service company working with over 600 hotels in the US.

What challenge were you trying to address with Softqube Technologies Pvt Ltd?

Softqube helped us build our proprietary revenue management platform. The hotel industry is fragmented and contains many different brands, making it challenging to access data. Our concept is to streamline data into one place. Our concept is streamlining data into one place because data inside the hotel industry is very fragmented and hard to access.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Softqube helped us develop a platform that aggregates data across many different hotel and property management and revenue management systems. They helped us with both back- and frontend work. The technologies they used were Microsoft SQL, .NET, C#, and the platform was hosted on AWS.

What is the team composition?

We work primarily with about 3–4 developers at any given time. Three of them have been with us since the very beginning; they have really low turnover. We have some developers that really understand the product.

How did you come to work with Softqube Technologies Pvt Ltd?

Softqube was originally building websites for us. Early on in 2013, we had this idea to build a major platform, so I asked Hari (Managing Director)  if they had the skill set to develop a web-based platform. They were the first ones to take our ideas and spreadsheets to bring them into the cloud.

We invest around $70,000–$120,000 per year.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have worked with Softqube for more than five years. Work on this project started in April 2014. We still work with them but in a more limited capacity. We’ve grown enough to take the products in-house.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The main metric is the fact that we started the platform with five hotels in 2014, and we now have over 650 hotels on the platform. They have been instrumental in building and supporting that platform.

We communicate with them primarily through Monday.com, a project management board, and we use GitHub for the code repository.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We have a really great relationship with Hari. He is very approachable and caring. If we ever have an issue with the current development, he makes himself available and gets on calls with the teams. He even travels to our office annually, so he is really great and trustworthy. The team seems to care about the product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

This isn’t necessarily their fault, but the time zone and communication are sometimes difficult — we’re in the US, and they’re in India. However, we overlap for a few hours in the morning, which helps. Other than that, they should just stay current with the latest technologies and continue finding new solutions to problems. 

Any advice for potential customers?

I recommend that you come up with good project management software, and you really need to engage with them on a daily basis to get what you want. Stay in touch with them to keep the product moving forward.

Global Carting Services company’s main lines of business are operating food & beverage outlets, Retail and whole seller as well as manufacturing food products. With a network of over 50 outlets, Global Carting Services are considered as one of the most successful food & beverage operators in the United Arab of Emirates.

Each Branch receives Tips from their customers based on the Quality and Services. Based on the Tip received, Global Carting Services adds Incentive which is based on Quality, Sales, Customer Satisfaction and Cost.

The Incentive is added for each Branch at end of the Month. This incentive is added by the Brand Manager for the Branches of the Brand or Operation Manager for all the Branches for each Brand.

After which the Tips and Incentive are distributed in 70% and 30% between the staff of each Branch. Global Carting Services is maintaining the Tip and Incentive activity in Excel, which they are planning to automate this process.

The Project was delivered on Time and as per the requirement. Also there were changes, which has been by Softqube on time.

Their quality and customer service are outstanding. There are mistakes and issues in any project, but it’s important how it gets handled after the fact. They were right on top of any issues, taking care of them. Our customer was quite impressed, and the relationship is ongoing because of it.

They were efficient. They use Jira and Basecamp. They also adopted a flow from Asana, which was particularly helpful in keeping the overall project on track and measuring progress along the way. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their customer service is phenomenal. There were some components on Silverlight and .NET where there was a debate between different charting tools. In three days, they presented three different demo projects to show the aesthetics, interaction, and speed of each demo to help simplify the decision and meet the customer’s needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t really have any complaints. However, due to them being offshore, communication requires a little patience.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

For any offshore vendor, I suggest not to make it a one-step process. Give a small proof of concept to work on, and see how they perform. I do recommend trying this company; they bring good value for the money.

I’m the executive officer of Outeku. We’re an IT consulting company. Mainly, we work with the government and state-owned enterprises. We also engage with a few private companies.

We’re based in Namibia where it’s a challenge to find good developers and programmers. I needed people who could develop products such as systems at an affordable price.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Softqube Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has completed two mobile app projects. One was built for android and the other was developed for both Android and iOS. They also created a management system that involved three components including a mobile app and a web portal. Recently, we launched a mobile app on a monitoring and evolution system that we developed for our business.

So far, we’ve done five projects together. The scope starts with requirement gathering, which we’ve collaborated to do. Then, we proceed with analysis and plan the entire development. Then, their team designs the solutions. Mainly, they’ve created diagrams and database schemas. Their team then moves to code. We’ll then test the solution, implement, and go live. I’ve worked with them on projects that have covered the whole process.

Usually, I’ll be assigned a team based on project requirements, so I’ve worked with three different teams. The team I’ve worked with the longest includes seven people.

Their team has learned my type of business. In the beginning, we had to spend a lot of time together. Lately, I’ve given them much less instruction and they get the work done.

We use Teamwork and their team uses development tools where they keep their work. Every morning we have a meeting via Skype. We’ve also used WhatsApp to connect. Whenever I’ve reported an error, they’ve responded to it urgently.

Their team makes me believe I’m their only client. I’m happy with their work. When I don’t have my specifications polished, their team will fill in the gaps. That’s owing to their extensive experience. I’m not always an easy person to work with, but they always find a way to make me happy.

Before you engage their services, know exactly what you want because they work on tight schedules. Their team provides resources on specific tasks and doesn’t like repeating tasks. Develop a good business case. Most of the time, I will drive the architect of the solution. If you only give vague ideas, the engagement might not work as well.

I’m a partner at Sunsoft Eduware Solutions LLP, an online learning company. We are into innovative, educational software. When our company started, the Cloud wasn’t available and we started with offline software.

We hired them to develop a system where teachers could communicate with parents who wanted to be more involved in their child’s day-to-day studies and help with homework.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We brought our requirements to their team and had several meetings to come up with more ideas. They brought new thoughts to make the system even more user-friendly. Then, they developed our web-based system and mobile app and tested it. 

The web portal allows teachers, admin, and staff to log in to the system to access all the rules provided by the school. The parents have access to the same information on the mobile app. There are over 300 institutions associated with our product, so their team continues to make customizations and maintains it.
