Lossless data migration from Magento to Shopify
Allies of Skin is an acclaimed beauty brand with a strong presence both in retail and online sales channels. Allies challenge the science of skincare, providing its clients with cruelty-free, clinically proven, researched, and tested products.
The main stages of work included:
- discovery – we audited the Magento 2 technology, an existing infrastructure, and estimated the costs of a potential move to the new technology; we also provided a detailed development plan
- migration & development – our team worked simultaneously on Magento migration and Shopify theme development
- integrations – an additional team was focused on adapting the existing integration to the new ecosystem, taking into consideration the different variables and technological limitations

Main challenges
Migration from Magento 2 to Shopify Plus – our team performed lossless and sophisticated migration from Magento 2 to Shopify, which included companion apps and integrations (users, products, reviews, loyalty points, and more).
Subscriptions – the customers of Allies can now purchase products in subscription packages and choose the delivery frequency; the back-office interface is supported by a Shopify app that makes it easy to change frequencies, customer groups, and plans.
Multi-international split – for the new website launch, we created several instances of their store that targeted different countries and currencies. The split of stores was done together with the data division from the Magento 2 database (the data was distributed based on the specific variables, e.g. country of purchase).
Promotions, discounts, and free gifts – we’ve been continuously supporting Allies with the dev work and the design support in the marketing area (customized and unique promotions, free gifts, marketing banners, and more).

Development and growth of Shopify Plus store
Vegamour is an all-natural hair wellness brand that has garnered an impressive reputation. Selling internationally, Vegamour formulas are vegan, cruelty-free, and proven by science. Apart from hair wellness products, the offer includes serums, brow enhancers, conditioners, shampoos, and more.
We’ve been working closely with Vegamour for the past couple of years, providing development power and experts in the Shopify Plus field. Our team has consisted of dedicated Shopify developers, QA testers, and consultants, who were led by an experienced manager.
The main stages of our work included:
- discovery – we audited the existing e-commerce, suggesting the areas of improvement and ways we can help the customer reach their goals
- development – we organized a dedicated team that was focused on e-commerce, attended daily meetings, and continuously completed incoming tasks; the team was responsible for a major revamp and implementing the new design of the website

The future of self-care
Audit, theme development, and launch of a new store
Ombre produces gut health tests and provides its customers with food and probiotic recommendations that support mental health, immunity, and digestion. Moreover, Ombre manufactures and sells focus and metabolism-boosting supplements. The customers can order gut health tests that can be performed in the privacy of their homes. Detailed results are rendered in a companion store app.
The project team consisted of Shopify experts, developers, and a dedicated manager. The main stages of work included:
- introduction – we gathered what was necessary for the development process, compiled a brief of the desired functionality, and audited the current theme and the store’s performance
- development – our team of Shopify experts operated on the store’s duplicate, working on the theme from ground level; we readjusted visuals to the new branding and developed the required views in a way that supported easy content editing
- optimization – on the parallel side, the development team worked on the optimization of the website and audited the existing modules and external integrations
- launch – we prepared the store for a safe, lossless launch, making certain the customers would find the new website a joyful and user-friendly experience
Our work with Ombre revolved around the optimization of the store, the visual redesign, and theme-building from scratch. We have rebuilt the existing store from the ground level, focusing on the performance and smart content architecture that would be easy to modify for non-technical staff.

Optimized and customized WooCommerce experience
Eleo Pavillon offers tailor-made garden pavilions and fence systems, paying special attention to the quality, stability, and durability of sold products. We’ve been working on the implementation of the new website, with an emphasis on a pavilion configurator allowing Eleo’s clients to quickly and effectively build a customized product.
The main stages of work included:
- discovery – we closely examined the project brief and expected functionality and took part in the process of choosing the right tools and technology
- development – our team performed all that was necessary to develop the store according to the project brief and the visuals provided
- launch – we made certain that the data from the previous solution was matched and the redirects were operating; our team was prepared for the launch day and monitored the store status
- maintenance – post-launch, we’ve been focusing on extending the shop’s functionality, optimizing its performance, and helping it reach new levels
The project was based on WooCommerce which made it easier in the long term to edit, change and manage the content, whilst providing all that’s necessary for the e-commerce and sales part.

Eleo Zaun is a growth-oriented company, combining the traditional art of blacksmithing with exceptional design and the highest manufacturing quality. Eleo produces fences, gates, and railings, tailored to the customers’ needs.

We’ve been working with Eleo on multiple projects, spanning different technologies and teams. Launching an online channel for a beauty brand
Balsamic is a professional beauty brand for massage rooms, physiotherapy centers, and wellness/SPA zones. The brand offers proven products for body and face treatments. Their online store sells products for both masseurs, physiotherapy students, and experienced practitioners.
We’ve been working closely with Balsamique over the course of the last three years, developing an e-commerce platform and providing marketing services. We’ve delivered a functional, reliable store with a design matching the brand’s guidelines.
The project team consisted of graphic designers, developers, and a manager, as well as marketing specialists.

Our webpage was based on WordPress it was outdated and unserviced with low sales performance and weak security. We decided to look for a Shopify developer to create a well functioning ecommerce platform that will be easy to navigate by professional massage therapists and businesses alike. The new Polish Balsamique ecommerce had to be sleek with fast navigation options while being visually appealing and in-line with the brand philosophy.

The store was moved to a new, more efficient platform, which allows better brand development and more efficient marketing activities. We have seen significant and positive impact of the project with growing customer acquisition and store performance.

Excellent oversight from PM, very well structured approach with set deliverables and right experts in right positions. We have worked based on a store brief for the design phase with quick turn around which helped us focus very quickly on technical aspects and proper setup of marketing activities and positioning.
We opted for gradual transition from old store to new keeping both open, which allowed customers to transition at their pace, this proved to be an excellent approach. We used online meetings and emails for the development phase and now use our company SLACK for marketing work.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They were knowledgeable and upfront about what they could or could not do. We had negative experiences in the past with companies promising services they could not deliver. On the design side SINTRA's approach is based primarily on functionality while being open to customer visual design requirements.
Designers tend to feel very emotional about their projects which creates at times a point of attrition between client and designer, with SINTRA we felt very comfortable with the approach and clear communication.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We suggest to switch to a more structured communication tool for the development part as well. Especially when running more than 1 project simultaneously.

After having good experiences with Sintra in a different project we were more than happy to include them in our pitch. The decision to go ahead with Sintra was based on their flexible and customer-orientated approach and good communication throughout our first project and because of their expertise in Magento development, UX, Knowhow, and flexibility when it comes to individual solutions.

For the first project, we required a migration from Magento 1 to Magento 2. We wanted to increase the amount of content and introduce more functionalities which M1 did not offer. We wanted our content to be easy to be modified and manageable, therefore Sintra suggested a combination of M2 and WordPress.
For the second project, our website required a rework of the whole page. We wanted to implement new functionalities, like customer-specific configurations, and additionally increase the amount of content. Also, there was a need to have all the domains connected in order to be able to modify the content more easily and integrate it simultaneously on all domains.
