The Faucet Image Analysis project aims to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system that automates the placement and visualization of kitchen faucets within customer-provided photos. This project will enhance the productivity of interior designers and provide an intuitive design experience for end users. The AI system will analyze images to suggest optimal faucet placements, facilitating both professional and DIY kitchen design tasks.

Deliverable: a system that predicts a JSON containing the camera’s position, orientation, and focal length from which the faucet’s image was captured, as well as two additional parameters: secondary faucet and side sprayer. The final solution is delivered as two ComfyUI nodes that perform image-based predictions using machine learning models. One deployed on SageMaker and one deployed locally.

We needed AI consultancy. We needed someone who understood how models worked, how to deploy and test them, and how to set up and create comparisons. We wanted to understand how we could replace existing solutions with newer models and what metrics we should look for.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The final deliverable primarily involved setting up an experiment and comparing different ASR models, such as Google ASR and Whisper. Shelpuk AI Technology Consulting conducted experiments on the Google Cloud Platform to understand which models best suited our hardware requirements.

For us, it was important to know which model was best suited for our hardware for better development. We wanted to see if we could run a model locally. Shelpuk AI Technology Consulting provided a report of the experiments and instructions on how to deploy and repeat them. We explored different models that would enhance the perception system for a robotic agent. This included computer vision, where we could understand what capabilities we could offer, such as recognizing objects and environments. We wanted to know what we could run locally versus what we could run in the cloud and compare their performances.

I specifically interacted with Sergii, who was doing all the coding. He had a team of four teammates to whom he delegated coding and experiments. Another person was responsible for creating the reports and presentations.
