Manual and Automation testing for Web platform
Client: SmartSuite is a work management platform for collaboration between teams and members.
Challenge: SmartSuite team required additional resources to test their platform after the development cycle to launch the product that meets quality requirements.
Services offered

Solution: UTOR team was represented by seven QA engineers (both manual and automation) and a project manager. To verify functionality, engineers created test cases for new features and provided critical functional testing. To verify that new features do not break the system, engineers provided sanity/regression testing.
The team created and improved test documentation which was transferred and stored on the client's Confluence.
To speed up the testing process our specialists developed an automation testing strategy, implemented technologies such as Typescript + Cypress with the BDD approach, and the Cucumber framework, and optimized existing automation test cases.
Results: In total, the UTOR team created 4000 test cases and tested about 100 user stories and tasks. The number of both critical and blocker defects was reduced and quality specifications were met. As a result, the SmartSuite team admitted the reducing users' complaints and finished the last development cycle on time.

Client: Eataly is an e-commerce Italian marketplace for shopping a high-quality food.

Challenge: Eataly team launched re-platforming with new technologies and faced defects in production and slow releases. To resolve such problems, they decided to set up the QA process, create the required documentation, integrate automation tests in the CI pipeline, improve user experience, and speed up releases.

We did an extensive search and when I met with the UTOR leadership team, I knew we had found the right partner for us. They had the knowledge and experience we needed to improve our QA processes. We were impressed with both the leadership team and the resources that they allocated to this project. And, they are just people.

The SmartSuite platform brings together all the essential elements that teams need to manage any workflow or project in their business. We had spend over $12,000,000 and and almost three years on the development of the platform.
As we werre ending the development 3 year development cycle we needed addtional resources that could help us ensure that platform was error free and ready to take to market.
They help us created and test over 4,000 test cases, that each contained multiple test steps. UTOR provided us with both manual and automated testing experts that were absorbed into our exiting QA team. They worked side by side with our team and attended all daily and weekly calls.

We worked with full-time Automation QAs, 3 full-time manual QAs, 3 part-time manual QAs, and 1 PM. For automation testing, the UTOR team implemented technologies such as Typescript + Cypress with BDD approach. For BDD, the team implemented Cucumber framework. All engineers on the project had Senior level skills and experience.

To sum up, UTOR tested about 100 users' stories and tasks, as a result, a number of bugs with priority Blocker and Critical reduced, and decreased users' complaints. The team did their best to meet quality specifications for successful product promotion.

We were on a strict schedule and demanded a lot from the UTOR. We managed the work they did our own product the work (stories) were were organized by Sprint and linked to Features. Each member had a daily list of tasks to compete. In addition to the daily stand ups, we used Slack for communications.

UTOR provided us with high-level QA testing services at an affordable price point. They were eager to make our product better by using their to verify test steps and report bugs as needed. But, what we enjoyed most was the people they provide. Just great people to work with - that care about doing a good job. I highly recommend them.

I’m CTO of a software development company which has its own product. It’s a digital signage and promotional platform designed to help convenience stores thrive via informing customers about deals and specials in the fastest way.

For setting up the proper QA process on our product.
What were your goals for this project?
The goal was to build a proper pre-release regression flow. So we needed somebody to develop a framework to automate regression testing. Also we needed creating the testing documentation.
How did you select this vendor?
We decided to move forward with UTOR because of their empathic approach and customer care as well as skills of their QA Engineers.
Describe the project in detail.
We faced a challenge - cause of rapidly grooving of our Advertising product users caught bugs. So we felt the lack of the robust QA process inside our development flow. After discussion with UTOR team we agreed the plan which included: 1. Creating regression test plan (Checklist); 2. Finding as many bugs as possible manually; 3. Developing Automation E2E Framework from scratch to automate regression testing (Stack: NodeJS, Webdriver.io, WebStorm, Postman).

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Everything we agreed with the UTOR team at the start was made in life by their high-skilled QA Engineers. 1. The regression test plan was created by QA Analyst. So we have initial QA documentation on our product. Good beginning the way to proper QA process. 2. Bug Report was made by QA Analyst and bugs were fixed by our dev team. It allowed our users to avoid catching bugs and made them happier. 3. Automation E2E Framework was developed. We have the scalable Automation solution for exactly what we need. So our releases will be faster and we can scale the solution when the product grows.
