Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m a marketing professional at an agency that provides marketing for professional services firms and a variety of brands.
For what projects/services did your company hire OpenMoves, and what were your goals?
We hired OpenMoves to help our clients with pay per click campaigns and SEO. We needed their expertise in performance marketing. Our primary goals were to improve the return on investment our clients made with us by driving leads, selling products and nurturing relationships.
How did you select OpenMoves and what were the deciding factors?
OpenMoves came highly recommended. When we researched their case studies, reviews and client base they felt like the right fit. We were also very impressed with the free audit they provided. The level of detail and quality of recommendations was far above other quotes and proposals we got.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.
They have worked with a variety of our clients. Their focused has been on PPC campaigns with some SEO. They get into the weeds with each client to develop the right strategy and are relentless about achieving the target cost per acquisition. They are highly proficient in segmenting, targeting and amazing with bidding strategies.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
They bring on a team of 3-4 experts for each job. PPC is lead by Alex and SEO lead by Brian. They are both great managers and strategists who lead their respective team members.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We set high, yet achievable goals. They have delivered on every project. They are also very honest about projects or campaigns that they feel won’t be a good fit for PPC. They won’t recommend PPC unless they find evidence that it won't be successful.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
I mention some of this above. Communication is their strong suit. Some of clients meet with them once a week or once a month depending on size. They have great reporting and a very good creative team to help with paid social campaigns. They use the leading communication tools.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Delivering results, expert team, good communication
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not much. They are our trusted, go-to team for PPC and SEO.

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of GURHAN NY. We sell fine jewelry.
What challenge were you trying to address with OpenMoves?
We didn’t have an internal capability for digital marketing. We knew that e-commerce was an extremely important part of our future strategy, but we weren't sure about bringing someone on staff.
We wouldn't have known how to manage those people because we didn't have that knowledge within our executive tier, so we decided to outsource a digital marketing agency to help us conduct that function.
What was the scope of their involvement?
OpenMoves does our paid advertising, which includes social media advertising and Google advertising, as well as retargeting advertising using Criteo. They also manage all of our online selling through Google, Facebook, and Pinterest.
In addition to the PPC, we've also retained them for SEO. They have done technical SEO and have helped us to improve our web site and all of our tagging. They frequently audit the site to make sure that there aren't broken links and that everything's working properly.
The team also helps us choose content topics for blogs and press releases to maximize traffic based on keywords that seem to work for us. They do all of this in coordination with their PPC side so that there is a seamless strategy.
Additionally, the team does our social media for us, which includes Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The team supports us in that regard with strategic thinking and execution of the various posts that we need to make.
Lastly, they also manage our email marketing. All four of those functions, they intertwine and they work together as a team with each other as well as with us so that we can have a coordinated, seamless approach.
What is the team composition?
We work with three teammates on the PPC side, two on the email side, two on social media, and two on SEO. In addition to that, we also interact with the owners.
How did you come to work with OpenMoves?
We asked around and did some research online. OpenMoves was recommended to us, and we interviewed them along with other potential candidates. We liked their focus on the analytics and the results, and we also felt that they were an impressive team.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them in February 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Initially, we had assumed that we would keep them on for 3–9 months until we learned how to do it ourselves. We expected that we would hire someone to take it over.
However, we were so happy with what OpenMoves was doing, and it felt like they were part of our internal team anyway, that we decided to keep them on. The quality of service is very high. They’re attentive and consistently available to us, and they have great ideas.
How did OpenMoves perform from a project management standpoint?
We meet with each of the groups twice a month, but they're available on call at any time if we need to give them a buzz to bounce ideas or have questions that need to be answered. We also have a monthly full team meeting.
The owners are very actively involved in the project, and they attend our monthly meetings. The team is available and responsive, and we communicate via email and opportunistic calls. We don’t have any issues with deadlines. We keep our marketing plan in Airtable and we share that with them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We genuinely feel that they are interested in and care about our success. They celebrate successes with us, and they share the pain if something's not going so great. It feels like OpenMoves really is invested in us and is truly part of our own team.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, nothing comes to mind. The only issue was that we initially didn’t know how to work with them because we needed to learn. They understood that and were patient. As we’ve become more informed and smarter about the scope of their responsibilities and what they do, we’ve learned how to work better with them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure you understand the full scope of what OpenMoves can offer and how all of the different pieces can come together in an overall strategy rather than just cherry-picking the different offerings.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the owner of Gravitas Marketing Strategies. My firm is a consultancy with myriad clients. I run strategy, creative and quarterback programs on behalf of my clients, utilizing specialized partners to execute.
For what projects/services did your company hire OpenMoves?
Open Moves is one of my premier go to partners for all things digital. So we have worked on multiple projects and clients together.
What were your goals for this project?
For all clients my goals are lead generation, simply stated. Open Moves makes me look great for a) recommending them as a partner; and b) delivering.
How did you select OpenMoves?
For a number of important reasons: They are extremely collaborative which is imperative for my business. Their reporting is flawless so we never have to worry about disrupting client expectations. Their level of knowledge is beyond compare which with so much misinformation about digital out there and such a rapidly shifting landscape is very, very valuable. I would recommend them to anyone.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
SEO, SEM, Content, Social, Paid Social, Geotargeting, Retargeting, Geofencing, Display.
What was the team composition?
I work with everyone in the organization from Amir and David who are the partners to Alex who is their General Manager, and depending on the pieces of the digital puzzle applicable to specific clients, most of the 30 people who make up the Open Moves team
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
What I love about Open Moves is that they take the testing aspect of digital to the max, so we are always testing, refining, testing, refining. We are still working together on the vast majority of the clients I have brought them into. Since their mandate is lead gen, I'd say we are doing pretty well.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Smooth collaboration in terms of initial strategic ideas and how they translate into creative, and then looking at the different iterations of that creative to see what is working, and gathering clues on how to adjust the variables to make it work better.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Reporting is flawless. Clients get every single piece of information they need to make decisions on spend, direction, you name it.
Are there any areas for improvement?
It would be great if OM dug in deep in the strategic aspect of the businesses they handle. But on the other side, they know EXACTLY what they are good at and depend on their relationships with clients and consultants like me to serve up the base business strategy (not to be confused with digital strategy that they have down pat) so that they can do what they do best.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, our team have been analyzing the different ways we can continue to provide the latest science and education to our healthcare heroes, while adapting to this new reality we live in.
After consulting with Open Moves, an approved vendor, we together came up with an idea for a virtual platform where we could take our live programs and transform them into digital, online experiences.
Since then, we have been able to launch (2) successful programs and are looking forward to expanding.
How did you select OpenMoves and what were the deciding factors?

I was most impressed by Open Moves ability to guide us as we faced the challenge of delivering high-quality education to our clinicians virtually, along with lending ideas to help give our platform a creative edge.
It was truly a team effort to launch this in only 5 short weeks, and could not have been possible without the support and expertise from the Open Moves team.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I was extremely satisfied with the work, communication and support.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Kiosk Group, Inc. is a privately-held, Maryland-based company that many leading companies, organizations, and government agencies trust and rely upon for interactive tablet kiosks. We create both hardware and software, including Kiosk Pro, which is the best-selling kiosk app for iOS. I manage software development and our presence on the web.
For what projects/services did your company hire OpenMoves?
We brought in OpenMoves to help us review our presence on the web, with an emphasis on improving our search engine optimization and managing our pay-per-click ad spend.
What were your goals for this project?
Expanding overall company visibility and increasing traffic and e-commerce conversions on our website were the goals of the project.
How did you select this vendor?
The vendor was selected based on the previous experience of our CEO/president in a role at a different company.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
The initial discovery included the team at OpenMoves working with us to learn about our company, goals, target audience, and existing web presence and ad campaigns. Based on the results of that discovery, OpenMoves recommended consolidating several websites that had previously been hosted on separate domains and helped us coordinate that effort.
They also took over primary responsibility for managing our pay-per-click ad campaigns, which had previously been managed in-house and have expanded those from AdWords only to now include Facebook.
What was the team composition?
We've worked directly with David who is one of the partners and the CFO there, as well as specific individuals responsible for SEO, Google Ads, and Facebook campaigns.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
While we are still in the process of consolidating sites, our results so far have been promising with a significant increase in traffic to our primary website. Certain members of our team initially struggled to see the value of the Facebook campaign OpenMoves recommended, but they were patient and persistent in convincing them. The resulting campaign has been successful in creating a new lower-cost stream for leads.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Our team meets with four to six members of the OpenMoves team once a month to review results and plan changes. They also provide a monthly summary of web traffic, ad spend, and conversions, which is helpful. All members of the OpenMoves team that we've worked with are clear and prompt in responding to any questions or new ideas that come up in the interim between meetings.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
OpenMoves has repeatedly shown a commitment to understanding our company's fairly specific niche and helping us find solutions that benefit our business. Beyond that, I'm always impressed by the level of enthusiasm their team shows for new ideas.
Are there any areas for improvement?
At times, OpenMoves has brought ideas to the table that are either not possible given our current Shopify platform or that are beyond the skill and/or time constraints of our current development team. In the end, I think it's probably better to dream big and then figure out what can actually be executed than the reverse.

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for Ameinu Our People, which is a Zionist-progressive Jewish organization based in New York. We have different sections and programs, and we have a sister organization called Project Rozana, which does humanitarian work in The Middle East, specifically in Palestine.
We support the Kibbutz Program Center, which registers volunteers for programs in Israel. We have the Third Narrative, which is an initiative of scholars and academics that promote the two-state solution for Israel and Palestine. I’m the national program director for Ameinu, in charge of promoting programs and day-to-day operations.
What challenge were you trying to address with OpenMoves?
My organization started working with them just before I arrived, and we’re mainly using their solution for email blasts.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’re integrating the OpenMoves platform with our Salesforce, and it’s working smoothly. We’re able to upload our contact information and sync with OpenMoves for different campaigns and address books. That makes it easy for us to know whom we want to target.
For example, we can send a blast to donors that gave less than $500 between December 2019 and March 2020, get that report on Salesforce, update the address book, and send it to OpenMoves. The layout for creating emails is simple enough to use for people without a lot of technical knowledge. OpenMoves does provide templates, which only require adding text and images, and they’re always willing to help.
We’ve also used OpenMoves to promote Google Ads. Their staff sends us monthly reports, and they’re always available. As a nonprofit, we were eligible for a Google Ads grant, and OpenMoves walked us through that process. They worked with our web designer in the UK on ways to improve our outreach through SEO.
What is the team composition?
I work with a few people from OpenMoves and they have designated members for each operation. I’ve worked with Amy (Strategic Support Manager) on everything email-related for the past three years.
They have someone who helps us with Google Ads, and there’s another member that handles technical issues with the website and anything software-related.
How did you come to work with OpenMoves?
The decision to hire them was made by someone else in my organization, so I’m not sure how they were chosen.
How much have you invested with them?
We get monthly invoices, and each one is a bit different. There’s a set cost for sending 10,000 or fewer emails per month, and another amount for sending 50,000. We spend $500–$600 per month on average. We spend a bit less in slower months, and $700–$800 during the busy season.
We’ve spent $10,000–$20,000 with them, so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working here in July 2017, but I believe OpenMoves started working with us a few months earlier in April 2017.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re a small, niche organization, with most of our donors coming from the progressive wing of the Jewish community. We know whom to look for when targeting our donors, and in which communities, so we use Google Ads as a backup and to get extra donations.
We’re very happy with OpenMoves, and our webmaster is also impressed by their work. This was my first time working on this kind of project, so I don’t have a lot to compare them to, but our webmaster is pleased with the quality of OpenMoves’ services.
Though our biggest donations don’t come as a result of Google Ads, we do get smaller donations because of it. We show up for keywords if people search for things related to our nonprofit, and even if they only donate $10, it’s great for us.
How did OpenMoves perform from a project management standpoint?
We do have deadlines, but we’re a small organization, and most of what we do goes pretty smoothly, especially when it comes to the email aspect. Once we installed the OpenMoves software, and once our staff learned how to integrate it with Salesforce, there wasn’t a lot that we needed to do. When I was coming up to speed in the beginning, Amy was very attentive and accommodating. She’d get on a Zoom or Skype call with me, and she answered emails very fast.
As an example, one of our websites’ certificates expired last week, so I emailed OpenMoves about it, and the website was back online within the hour. That’s the kind of interaction I have with them. I never have to wait for them to deliver or remind them about a deadline. I just send them an email, and the problem’s usually solved by the end of the day.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s the level of customer service that stands out. We’re working with a few other providers, and OpenMoves is just very responsive in comparison. Whenever we have a problem, we can email or call them, and they’ll solve it. Though we’re a small nonprofit, they give us the same amount of attention and care as a big client.
I’ve been working with them for three years now and I do like to know the people I’m working with. It’s nice that we’ve gotten to know each other a little bit, even though we’ve never actually met. It’s good to work with a provider that has this kind of personal touch. If I ever have an issue, I know I can give someone at OpenMoves a call and get their help. I’ve been waiting for a call from another provider for a few days, and this isn’t something that’s happened with OpenMoves.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Though the interface for building emails could be a little friendlier, they’re always willing to help and I never have to struggle.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Clients should know what their goals are so that OpenMoves can really tailor its products based on those needs. This way, we can make sure that we’re not overpaying and that we’re not getting a service that we don’t need. For us, the integration with Salesforce was a big deal because we had our entire database there, and it also was a new system for us at the time. We adopted Salesforce and OpenMoves as one package.

Paid Advertising & Strategy for Chocolatier
"They are an extension of our team and are focused on our goals and driving value."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the senior director of e-commerce and digital of Vosges Haut-Chocolat.
What challenge were you trying to address with OpenMoves?
We hired them to help streamline our paid media approach. We wanted to grow that area of our business by generating a strong return on ad investment, driving more engagement, and learning more about our customers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They drive our paid media strategy on Google, Bing, Criteo, Facebook and Instagram. We do all of the creative in-house but they drive the strategy and work on audience segmentation. They also divide our campaigns, especially on the Google side, between branded and non-branded. Leaning heavier into areas that were working, they strongly support our strategy, reporting, and analytics needs.
What is the team composition?
Three people work with us. There is an account manager, a person dedicated to paid search, and a person assigned to paid social.
How did you come to work with OpenMoves?
I found them by searching and reading other reviews. We interviewed them along with some other agencies and they were the best fit in terms of their team structure, approach, and experience.
How much have you invested with them?
We spend close to $70,00 per year on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since July 2018 and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve seen a really strong return on our ad spend, which is one of the key metrics we track. We always see a minimum of a 3x return, and there are times when it would even go up to 10x. Their work is very strong and they’re delivering results that are making our media campaigns efficient and keeping our costs relatively low.
How did OpenMoves perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve done really well here. We have calls twice a month as regular status calls. We talk about strategy, what’s working or not working, the budget for that month, and our upcoming plans. They tell us what would work well for our new campaigns and the structure. They report once a month, as well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re just extremely responsive and flexible. They are an extension of our team and are focused on our goals and driving value. They care about our high-level revenue goals and want to understand where we’re headed.
From a very high-level, strategic standpoint, they’re really strong and trickle that down into how we spend our ad budget. They have true specialists in each area, which I really like. I like that there are people dedicated specifically to paid search or paid social and they can be experts within it.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t really think of anything big. They could give us more larger-scale industry knowledge and share things they’re seeing in the industry. Knowledge sharing would be good, but it’s not a real weakness because they’re good at telling us high-level things in the market.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be clear about your goals and be revenue-focused. Make sure they’re aware of how you track your revenue, what your goals are, and they’ll really have skin in the game to help you achieve that.

As our customers have so many touchpoints across the search and social media landscape, I hope the team could bring in more industry-level insight on emerging trends that we could incorporate into our strategic planning.
