Mr President - Custom Squarespace Development
Armed with awesome designs, we set about crafting the bespoke website within the standard Squarespace ecosystem using a template as the base. To ensure that the new Mr. President website was just as easy to use as a standard Squarespace template, we customised the native content blocks to achieve all of the required functionality. We build a number of neat features including a collection filter system on the 'Latest' page, various galleries and carousels with custom layouts & controls and auto-playing video content.

Fresh Merch - Shopify Plus Design & Development
Fresh Merch is a bespoke merchandising production company uniquely designed for content creators.
We built a custom Shopify Plus site that features a number of bespoke solutions to some unique challenges including multi-branded UX/UI.

As well as the custom theme, we developed a number of bespoke features such as the ‘measuring guide’ pop up and multi-profile (humans and dogs!) custom account functionality.

Dryrobe - Shopify Plus Development
Working closely with the team at dryrobe we carried out a UX review and mapped out a number of data-driven improvements across both UK and US storefronts.
We also designed & built a custom ‘SizeFinder’ app to help customers understand dryrobe’s unique sizing and reduce the number of size-related returns.

Half Hitch Gin® - Squarespace Design & Development
Building on initial design concepts delivered by the team at JKRGlobal, we mapped out the functionality and layout requirements before developing the new website using taking one of Squarespace’s templates (Fulton) as the core framework.
As well as rebuilding the template, implementing on-site SEO and setting up the online store - we custom coded a number of bespoke functions including a full bleed cocktail gallery, an ‘age-gate’ landing page and page aggregated social media feed(s).

Please describe your company and your position there.
Hunter & Gather is an Optimal Health & Wellness brand based in the UK , selling both D2C & D2B. I am the Co-Founder.
For what projects/services did your company hire Noughts & Ones, and what were your goals?
We were undergoing a re-brand where we were relaunching products with a coherent design, which led to wanting the update the website both from a visual and usability perspective. We wanted a visually pleasing website that was functional for you needs to include:
- Subscription builder
- Mega Menu Learn section
- Integration with recharge & Loyalty Lion
How did you select Noughts & Ones and what were the deciding factors?
We chose Nought's & Ones for their experience with the platforms we wanted to use, plus their ability to listen to what we wanted and to come back with more ideas. We also liked their collaboration ongoing approach to the relationship and strategic planning.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had a great phone chat with Tom, who then spent time creating a proposal of works, which we were pleased with. We progressed with an initial project of relaunching the website in a tight deadline, which the team did a great job on.
There was a few weeks of understanding and really flushing out what we wanted and how this would work, before they then created wire frames and visual boards for sign off. After go live of the website, there was a cool down period for any actions required and then ongoing checkins and strategy sessions thereafter as part of a monthly retainer.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Project Manager - Caragh Founder - Tom Developer - Giulia Developer - Adam
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
After launching the site we are continuing to see improvements to the conversion rate, especially via mobile. As we launched new products at the same time it is hard to understand whether the metrics are solely related to the website, however, we have also seen our average order value increase as well as overall sales revenue on the site.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
They utilise Asana, which is great for project planning and keeping things all in one place. They are very good at holding regular check-ins and communication. This is what set's them apart.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their ability to keep up with checks in and strategy sessions and time management is great. The time they take to understand your business and create bespoke work is also great.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I think over time they will learn more about areas that could impact the functionality of 3rd party integrations, as we had a few teething issues with regards to recharge and loyalty lion. It would also be useful to have a "checklist" of things to check are functioning such as newsletter sign up etc. As this was disconnected without us knowing on the site switch over and was only picked up 4 weeks after.

Jamstack Design & Development for Shopify Directory Platform

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of Kollektify. We’re an agency that works with Shopify app companies. We’re building a directory website called Mindful Commerce that lists technology companies that are green, eco-friendly, and mission-led.
What challenge were you trying to address with Noughts & Ones?
Our company doesn’t have the skills that Noughts & Ones' team does to build a website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They’re building and designing our directory website using Jamstack. Other technologies include Netlify and Contently. They’re currently in the development stage.
What is the team composition?
I work with Caragh (Project Manager), Adam (Designer & Frontend Developer), and another website developer.
How did you come to work with Noughts & Ones?
I found out about Noughts & Ones and met Tom (Creative Director) through the Partner League, which is a Slack channel. I chose them because I get along with Tom, and I also like that they align with our values.
The biggest challenge for us was making a low-impact website, and that’s what they focus on. They also understand Shopify, and the people that we’re listing on our directory are in the e-commerce space.
How much have you invested with them?
We’re service-swapping, meaning my agency is giving them services in exchange for their services. However, there is still money that I’m spending on the service swap. The project is equivalent to £10,000 (approximately $13,300 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in October 2020. The site will launch in December as an MVP, and then we’ll continue to work with them as we go along.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
No, not yet. When the site is live, hopefully, I’ll be pleasantly surprised by it.
How did Noughts & Ones perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management is very good. Caragh is clearly on it; we speak nearly every day through Asana and email. It’s very well-organized, which I’ve been super impressed by.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They listened well to what we needed. I don’t know how the designer understood what I was asking for because I was a bit confused myself. He then submitted a brilliant design, and I was super impressed — it’s lovely.
I’m also impressed by Caragh and her project management. I just feel really confident that they’re getting on with it, and I don’t have to chase them for an update, which is really nice.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not yet. I’d say they’re pretty perfect.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be clear on what they need to do, and talk to Caragh; she’s good at understanding what you need. We don’t really speak to the designers or developers throughout — we just spoke to them at the beginning.

Shopify Website Development for Consumer Goods Company
"Nothing seemed too difficult for Noughts & Ones to do."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the head of digital and e-commerce for a consumer goods startup. We celebrate eco-friendly surface cleaners and other cleaning products.
What challenge were you trying to address with Noughts & Ones?
We were looking at redesigning our Shopify website. We wanted to rebrand and retheme from our old website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Noughts & Ones essentially rebranded the whole user experience. They did everything from the look and feel to the functionality and the imagery. We also offered a subscription platform which we did through ReCharge.
We looked at pop-ups and email marketing as well as a new review platform. They mainly helped us with the subscription side of things which was working with our order management system, Veeqo. It was a warehousing system.
What is the team composition?
I worked with the founder, a developer, and a project manager. There was also a head of design supporting us at the beginning.
How did you come to work with Noughts & Ones?
Noughts & Ones reached out to us directly after we’d advertised that we were looking for a Shopify development agency. They pitched us and it seemed the work they’d done previously was really good. They were also a small business and we wanted to support other small businesses. The ideas they had matched well with what we were looking for.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent £15,000 (approximately $19,800 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2019 and the work is ongoing. We signed a retainer with them and will be working with them on and off for the next six months.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our conversion rates have increased since working with them.
How did Noughts & Ones perform from a project management standpoint?
The communication is good. Noughts & Ones is very clear on certain deadlines. They shared any challenges or issues that they were having and gave us notice of that.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re always available, and they came up with cool ideas. Nothing seemed too difficult for Noughts & Ones to do. They were always willing to try any challenges that we threw their way.
The team was also very flexible in terms of changing our ideas and stance on various pieces of the project that they’re working on.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When we were working with them on the initial project, they didn’t have a project manager. However, they just brought one in recently, which has massively improved the workflow.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure that you share your key objectives of what you’re trying to achieve. The founder was really helpful in terms of getting our strategy right with the website. Be as open and honest with them as possible.

Please describe your company and your position there.
WaterAid is a charity organisation with a mission to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere by 2030. I work in WaterAid’s Digital Product Team as a Project Manager.
For what projects/services did your company hire Noughts & Ones, and what were your goals?
We were looking for a way to showcase the artwork shortlisted in the Art of Change campaign, and give supporters the ability to submit their vote, share the message across social media and also give a donation if they can.
How did you select Noughts & Ones and what were the deciding factors?
Noughts & Ones were brought on board to provide the design and development for the microsite in collaboration with If Not Now who were leading the campaign.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The Art of Change microsite showcases a shortlisted selection of artwork so that supporters can vote for their favourite and in doing so support the cause.
This artwork was submitted in response to an open call for art which would encourage world leaders to double their investment in water and hygiene to tackle COVID-19. The microsite uses a Sanity CMS for our artwork upload with a firebase database that facilitates the voting functionality.
The microsite offers share functionality via integrations with the main channels and connects with our main site for donations. The project was actioned against a short timeframe, and so Noughts & Ones facilitated cross-over between the design and development stages to save time.
They also worked in close collaboration with us during the testing phase to turn around issues quickly and efficiently in order to deliver on time.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with Tom, the CEO, and their front-end developer, Adam.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We have over 11,000 votes to date.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
Communication was great, we were always kept well informed. The timings were clear and the agreed scope was delivered by the deadline.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Adam’s commitment and ability to turn around the remaining feedback in the last few days before launch.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
There were a couple of minor issues post-launch which could have been addressed quicker, but we appreciate that by that point Adam was dedicated to a new project.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of Zested. It’s a recipe box delivery service.
What challenge were you trying to address with Noughts & Ones?
I needed help with the checkout part of building an ecommerce website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I explained the challenges we were facing, and they provided mockups, and solutions, to help streamline the checkout process. They helped identify the right apps for the process, as well, using Shopify apps and code.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Adam (Frontend Developer), Tom (CEO) most of the time. There were other people I interacted with occasionally.
How did you come to work with Noughts & Ones?
I found them organically. I reached out to several agencies. I appreciated that they understood we were working with a limited budget, and I felt confident they could deliver what I wanted.
How much have you invested with them?
£9,000 (approximately $11,000).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from April 2020 – July 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The website hasn’t launched yet. We have tested it, and all seems good. It looks great, and checks all the boxes of what I wanted. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but is functional for our customers, so I’m quite happy with their work.
How did Noughts & Ones perform from a project management standpoint?
They were clear about deliverables and were receptive to feedback during the process. There was some confusion toward the end of the project, but it didn't cause us any major problems. For the most part, we communicated via Slack.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They showed genuine interest in what we were doing and contributed great ideas. They didn’t try to scrape by with bare minimum effort. I was happy with their ability to identify the problems we needed to address, and provide appropriate solutions.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I would’ve liked for them to hand off the website as soon as it was built so I could have a cooling down period to learn and work through it, and perhaps make changes. Most people want a fully finished website, as an end product, but I wanted a bit more autonomy with it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Stay in close contact throughout the project. Transparency is important. Deal with issues immediately, and be honest about your opinion on their work.

Shopify Web Dev for Specialist Wine Merchant

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and co-founder of Novel Wines, a specialist retailer and wine merchant. We important different wines mainly from Central and Eastern Europe, with the idea of encouraging people to drink wine from lesser-known regions.
What challenge were you trying to address with Noughts & Ones?
I built my website from scratch using Shopify, but I’m limited in my knowledge. I needed a developer to build a new website. Our conversion rate was fairly low at about 1.4% and I needed to reach my conversion goals of 2.5%.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Noughts & Ones changed the UX of the website and the layout of 280 product pages. They also made some of the Shopify app integrations a little more seamless so that the pages could load faster on mobile. The team worked in stages and did test runs on each one.
What is the team composition?
I chatted with Tom (Founding Director), but Adam (Senior Frontend Developer) did most of the work.
How did you come to work with Noughts & Ones?
Noughts & Ones were recommended by a friend. I’d also seen some of the work they’d done, so I decided to give them go.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent £5,000 (approximately $6,300 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together for three weeks, from November–December 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our conversion rate is regularly at about 2.3%, which is great. Additionally, the work they did to smooth out the experience for the user really helped. At the end of the engagement, I was very satisfied.
How did Noughts & Ones perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management was great. We had a face-to-face brief to begin with and Tom sent us a schedule. Adam was great. When we discovered minute issues a month after going live, he would always jump back in and fix them at no extra charge, which was brilliant.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Noughts & Ones knew Shopify. I had no idea how to code liquid, so even though I could do the majority of the changes, any changes I did make were clunky. The team was able to jump straight into the liquid so that it worked seamlessly in the Shopify template.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not that I can think of. Their work has always been quick and impressive.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be completely open and have a face-to-face conversation with Tom. He will take everything you say you want to achieve and put it down into practical elements that they can implement.

What challenge were you trying to address with Noughts & Ones?
We needed a new website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We already had a website in place, but we were looking to revamp it. It didn’t need to offer new functionality, but we were hoping for a more streamlined, user-friendly interface through design templates. From there, they built the website out for us. We provided the copy and imagery, but they undertook the technical implementation.
What is the team composition?
We had a project manager and a few other resources working on the project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We did an internal feedback survey, and it received almost entirely positive reviews. It makes us stand out against our competitors while being fresh and easy to use.
How did Noughts & Ones perform from a project management standpoint?
They have the patience of saints, putting up with plenty of chopping and changing from us. Every time we wanted to change something, they accommodated us and provided great customer service throughout.

There were a few mistakes that could’ve been addressed before they were presented to us.
