I’m the creative designer at Musik Lemon, a content-sharing platform that supports musicians as they grow their fan bases. We also promote cultural diversity through music-related content, social media, and outstanding service.

We needed resources to develop our website and an app for iOS and Android.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a stylish mobile-friendly tool that encouraged dynamic interactions between musicians and listeners.

How did you select this vendor?

We found them online. While we were initially hesitant to work with foreign developers, we spoke with their representatives who assured us that they could meet our expectations. After assessing their skills with smaller assignments, we proceeded to hire them.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

They developed the website, which included a backend control panel that allowed us to operate the platform. They then built our app, which syncs with our site and allows musicians to curate their profiles, upload music and images, create playlists, post events, and message other users.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

They built the site and app according to our design and functionality specs. We’ve appreciated their capacity to deliver any project, regardless of the scale or challenge.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We communicate primarily through Skype, email, and phone, and I always have consistent contact with both team members to ensure that we’re on the same page. They’re organized and clear on tasks and time lines. In terms of our budget, they’re relatively cost-effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Manektech is a great company to work with. Not only are they honest, transparent, and reliable, they’re willing to take on big challenges. I’ve never doubted their ability to work and, as of today, have hired them to complete all of my projects for the past five years.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

They may benefit from questioning the product design more when developing the projects.

Snap and Study is an application for iOS and Android. We use OCR technology to capture text and convert it to audio so you can study on the go. Users can take a picture of PowerPoints or books and have it read back to them through a car stereo or anywhere they want. It also comes with flash card features and an audio recorder to record lectures and classes. I’m the owner.

What challenge were you trying to address with ManekTech?

We needed help getting the app developed. We needed to make sure it was possible to make a seamless app that captures text and converts it to word all in one spot.

What was the scope of their involvement?

When I approached ManekTech, I just had the idea for the app. I had a video call with them and we talked about if the app could be profitable and if they think it’s a feasible thing to do. They had me send them information about how I wanted the app to work, as well as the color scheme and design. They started with that, and then on the process of how the app would work. OCR was be a big part of the app but I don’t know what technologies they used to develop it. They are helping me to get into the app stores and also helping me get it on AdMob so that it will be profitable. They have been very helpful by giving me information on how to do things since this was the first app I’ve ever developed.

How did you come to work with ManekTech?

I met them through a past client of theirs who had them work on some websites. He said they were great. I met with a few other companies before ManekTech, but nothing worked out.

How much have you invested with ManekTech?

I will spend a total of $12,000 on the app.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working on the app in January 2017, and it should be completed in the next month.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We’re fixing minor bugs now. Depending on whether the app is on Android or Apple, the camera is having trouble focusing. We want to clear up the camera so that it reads super clear every time and gets the picture the first time. I’ve had a few people test the app, but no one has tested the best model yet. ManekTech provides great work. I was worried about working with them since they were so far away. I never got to meet them and our communication is all done over email, but they’ve done great work. The time difference makes it challenging because, when I get up in the morning, I can only send a few emails until their day is over. But, they’re always in communication with me even with the time difference.

How did ManekTech perform from a project management standpoint?

If I email them any changes, they get back to me within 24 hours with it already changed and finished. They have very quick service. We use Gmail and Skype to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about ManekTech?

I really appreciate their communication. They are straight to the point. They tell you what needs to be done and they do it.

Are there any areas ManekTech could improve?

Not that I can think of. I’ll definitely be using them in the future. I have another idea I’d like to have developed.

What challenge were you trying to address with ManekTech?

Our goal is simple—to be able to meet our clients’ requirement and expectations for software development within budget and schedule. We have a very small development team locally, so we need to outsource some of our work to a partner.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have outsourced many of our development projects to ManekTech. The projects they take on for us are web-based and often include .NET technology. One example is a WEB analytics website. It generates analytics reports for users.

ManekTech undertakes the development and maintenance of much of our work at a reasonable cost. They are able to commission the final project within budget and schedule. ManekTech undertakes the project in its entirety. After we gather user requirements and budget details from our clients, we send the information to ManekTech. They evaluate the schedule, type of technology, and tools required for the work. Thereafter, ManekTech develops the product and provides project updates as and when required. The product will go through unit testing, user acceptance testing, and rework. All of these are done before a project is finally commissioned. The ManekTech team is involved from head to toe, from project evaluation, costing, planning, scheduling, development to implementation.

How did you come to work with ManekTech?

We searched Google and found ManekTech. We first tested the ManekTech service 4 years ago. Their ability to complete the project on time and on schedule made us choose them.

We have spent between $50,000 and $100,000 on our work with ManekTech.

What is the status of this engagement?

This is an ongoing engagement to maintain and enhance the projects. Our major projects’ start date was March 2013 and the end date was June 2015. Ongoing maintenance started in June 2015.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The projects we have assigned to them have been completed successfully. Our major project with ManekTech is being used by between 100 and 150 users. Users like the product; it gives them a very comprehensive grasp of market analytics. It is intuitive and fast-loading. We’ve achieved our business goals through engaging ManekTech.

How did ManekTech perform from a project management standpoint?

ManekTech undertakes the project management portion of our projects. They ensure user requirements are understood and clarified before starting the programming. Our communication with them is via Skype calls, text, and video calls. Deadlines are strictly adhered to.

What did you find most impressive about ManekTech?

As already mentioned, ManekTech stands out because they are able to understand user requirement, including the need to stick to deadlines and stay on budget.

Are there any areas ManekTech could improve?

I am pretty satisfied with ManekTech and what they have done for us in the past 4 years.

‎Sofvue is a software development company specializing in complex application systems, primarily for the business-to-business [B2B] and business-to-consumer [B2C] real estate industry, as well as large wholesalers. We develop enterprise application systems on the .NET framework. Most of our projects are multi-sprint and multiyear, our biggest one having in excess of 40 sprints over the span of 5 years. Our smallest one has had 3-5 sprints over the span of 90 days.

I am the president of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with ManekTech?

We had a number of different objectives to meet, the first one being to develop a programming team which would be responsible for converting high-fidelity wireframes into functioning software. At one point, we had internal programmers, but our structure revolves around using onshore and offshore partners.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have used ManekTech for 30-40 projects so far. Our main technology is the .NET framework, but we've also used Java, JavaScript, C++, and C#. We use DevExpress as an SDK on some of our work. Our master-scope documentation, software requirements, and wireframes are published on an online application.

ManekTech has worked with us on 7,000 to 8,000 wireframes and converted these into a functioning software. We oftentimes have large projects with feature sets that vary dramatically. We've worked on solutions for real estate, healthcare, dentistry, high-end fabrication, and so on.

We have used between 1 and 10 programmers from ManekTech writing our source code and assisting our company with user acceptance testing, as well as getting applications ready for launch, establishing release dates, and going live. I work hand-in-hand with ManekTech's principal in selecting our programmers. We are assigned project leads, but we've also worked with the technical resources directly.

How did you come to work with ManekTech?

We had been using some other Indian outsourcing companies, but I had become unhappy with their services. I don't remember how we found ManekTech specifically, but it was through online research. I interviewed at least 12 companies, and selected a few of them for a small job, and gave the survivors of that project another small task. I quickly realized that ManekTech's team was the best match for us.

We started working with ManekTech in 2011, right when their company was formed.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Every one of our projects with ManekTech have been a success. We wouldn't have kept them on otherwise. They've exceeded all of our expectations, always going well beyond our requirements. ManekTech's principal is a phenomenal communicator and is one of the most intelligent developers I've worked with. As a result of that, he is able to pick very good resources and has constantly provided outstanding service for us.

We have published numerous testimonials on our website, showcasing what we've done for our clients, many of whom ManekTech has provided work for. Clients don't typically call us to say how much they like our company, but we have maintained relationships with some of these companies for 10 years.

How did ManekTech perform from a project management standpoint?

ManekTech has never missed a deadline. We operate under the component-based software engineering model. No house in the US would be built without an exact set of floorplans, and we follow the same model for our work. As a result, we're never late, there's never a cost overrun, scope creep, or scope bloat. I am in the position to ask ManekTech's team for clear estimates for the number of resources and hours a project will take. The numbers they return back to us have never been wrong.

What did you find most impressive about ManekTech?

ManekTech's principal is the company's main asset. He's an intelligent business person and a phenomenal communicator. I can't say the same for many people I've used over my career. Working with a smart and technically-savvy person will resolve all other issues.

Are there any areas ManekTech could improve?

I've asked ManekTech to move to Arizona, but they won't do it.

I am the founder and chief executive officer of Blue Eon Solutions. Our flagship product is called Who's Next, a software I wrote for colleges and universities. We discovered that many schools were still signing students up on paper. Who's Next solves this problem by allowing recruiters to put students in a queue and track what each student is coming in for. Within high schools, our main target will be lead counselors. For colleges, our target market is made up of all student services, including consultation, financial aid, and records. We also have mechanisms for faculty advisors who only deal with a subset of students.

What challenge were you trying to address with ManekTech?

I recently decided to transform the software into a cloud-based application, which would allow us to service high schools at a global scale. Installing our software on individual machines took too much time, but having everything in the cloud made it easier to update and manage.

I am the lead developer of the company, but I'm more accustomed to client-server applications. I needed more expertise for creating a web-based solution, so I hired ManekTech for help writing our source code.

What was the scope of their involvement?

My software has been on the market for 15 years, so I know what it requires. ManekTech has been in the process of duplicating the current application into a web-based version. ManekTech has helped me figure out what the best route to take is at certain points.

ManekTech's programming team is writing our ASP.NET application. Once the project is complete in January, ManekTech will be tasked with writing mobile versions for phones and tablets. ManekTech has provided a web designer who makes sure that our site is responsive on all web browsers.

For the project, I am working with 2 full-time programmers from ManekTech's team. We also work with a tester and a designer who come to our project on an as-needed basis.

How did you come to work with ManekTech?

A few years ago, we were working with a collaborator who had used ManekTech in the past. We started another project which required web development, so we brought ManekTech on board for it. I was very happy with their services, so I decided to work with ManekTech again for my current company.

How much have you invested with ManekTech?

Initially, we were using a single developer from ManekTech, for whom we paid around $2,000 per month. That’s a total of $10,000 over 5 months. After adding another developer, the total has gone to around $37,000 or $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I made the decision to make the software migration in January 2016. We started working with ManekTech in March and we plan to relaunch our product in January 2017. I see us having a long-term relationship for the improvement of my software.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

ManekTech is a very talented group, design-wise. I don't have a good eye for this area, but I can identify functionalities which I like on other sites. ManekTech has been adept at figuring out what I'm asking for and implementing it within my platform. 

Because the software hasn't been launched yet, the only metric I can cite is ManekTech's development cycle. They have hit every milestone I set before them, going above and beyond and even coming in on weekends in order to meet deadlines. This has shown me ManekTech's dedication.

How did ManekTech perform from a project management standpoint?

ManekTech's project manager has overseen all of our work and was included in our entire communication, including emails and Skype conferences. He chimes in whenever it's necessary, but I've noticed that he's given programmers free rein to develop whatever I, as the client, want.

ManekTech has provided responses very quickly whenever we needed it, but we've never had to micromanage the team. Our main communication tool is Skype, but ManekTech also has an internal system called MT Works that allows me to add and manage tasks. I can identify an issue, screenshot it, and have the programmers see and understand exactly what I want.

What did you find most impressive about ManekTech?

Even though ManekTech has grown as a company, they've still been able to address all my needs. When I needed another programmer or a designer, they were brought in without an issue. Also, ManekTech's people are really good at what they do. They're hardworking, punctual, and they do the job. I also like the fact that they've shared pictures of the multiple celebrations they hold in India, which makes it feel as if ManekTech is a very close group.

Are there any areas ManekTech could improve?

Even though I'd worked with ManekTech in the past, I was worried about their English skills. It turned out that ManekTech's team speaks very good English.

The client is currently using an MS Access database to hold 30 years of customer data and plumbing job details in order to record collection of payments and create / send invoices. This system will also assist with reporting data entry of back office staff, as field staff and monitor the work that is being done by employees.The new web system will also assist with a financial view of invoices sent, outstanding or overdue. This system is to support business growth and expansion

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Early in the project, i had daily meetings with the developer. This was useful to run through each requirement and ensure we both understood the rquirements or any limitations (Mack). We then had 2 or 3 other developers which appeared to have less experience and we had a lot of rework due to miscommunication. 

We are now working with jagret and we are impressed with his work and ability to understand requirements. Key deliverables include, but not limited to: Ability to add / edit customer, job details, payments, invoices, audit and maintenance and reporting

Mack was amazing. It was great to meet online and discuss requirements. Mack would advise what was to be delivered each week and would deliver. Jagret is also amazing. Although we are not meeting online, we seem to be communicating well through skype and asana. Jagret and I are learning how we will monitor progress, but at the moment, looks like through skype and asana conversations - which is fine as Jagret is very responsve. Also i am working more with Kayden now and he is awesome. Keeping me up to date with progress, holidays etc. 

I feel very comfortable that the team i am working with at the moment, is responsive and doing everything to support me. One area to consider is how to set expectations with the customer. On various occassions, someone would advise that they would let me know an estimate or if something could be done or what work is to be completed. I found myself following up. I would say, set the expectation that it will be 48 hours not 24 hours turn around time (as an example).Under promise and over deliver. This was not a huge issue, but it did happen a few times.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Responsiveness Friendliness (both Alex and Kayden were very lovely to speak to me separately to wish me condolences when my father passed) I would definitely say that they are down to earth and they care about their customer. Alot of other vendors are transactional. I am a person that likes to connect and i feel very supported by the team. It is nice to deal with people who care The senior developers provided good solutions to my problems

Are there any areas for improvement or something ManekTech could have done differently?

As previously mentioned: - under promise / over deliver - The contract process and securing developers - was probably not as well don (between both of us)...happy to talk about this observation in more detail if you would like Otherwise, i have been very happy with the overall process and development.
