A clothing retailer hired Magneto IT Solutions to develop their e-commerce site using Magento so they could launch their products and brand. Magneto IT Solutions' team utilized templates to craft the site.
Since the client's continued requests for Magneto IT Solutions to resolve the errors from the first iteration of the project went unaddressed, the partnership devolved. The client was left without a website and had to delay their product launch. Magneto IT Solutions failed to perform as promised. This review is an update by the client company. The original content is located below the new review.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Buddha Bhaang LLC is a start-up business focused on developing and selling hemp cones and branded apparel products. I am the owner and manager.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Magneto IT Solutions?
Building an e-commerce website to be able to launch products and brand.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Full website development
How has the team composition changed?
Magneto has become unresponsive and person that sold me on Magneto and the project is no longer there (or on leave).
How did you come to work with Magneto IT Solutions?
Found them online based on reviews and “best” lists.
How much have you invested with them?
$4125
What is the status of this engagement?
Dead end. Magneto failed to complete the website and to resolve a template design mistake it made. Magento tried to charge me extra to have them fix the template limitation, which was contrary to their original proposal and project scope, and then all communications broke down.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
How has your relationship with the vendor evolved?
Initially, I agreed to pay half of the overage charged by Magneto but wanted assurances that the site would get fixed, completed, and developed as previously agreed and per my specs. When Magneto failed to responds, I gave them a week to get back to me with a path forward. Magneto did not so I posted accurate and truthful reviews about my experience online.
Thereafter, Nitesh (owner of Magneto) contacted me and said he would be willing to give me a partial refund (less than half) if I agreed to take down the posts. At the time I wanted more of a refund so we did not come to an agreement. After I found another developer to complete the project, I informed Nitesh that I would accept a $2500 refund and would be willing to take down the posts. Nitesh agreed and I took down all the posts I could. Clutch, however, said I could not unilaterally remove my review but could update it.
I informed Nitesh of this and told him I would provide an update to say that we resolved the dispute and there is no longer an issue. Nitesh did not respond and did not provide ANY refund. Thereafter, I have Nitesh several days to provide the refund otherwise I was going to renew my reviews and update my Clutch review accordingly. Nitesh did not respond and has not provided a refund despite promising to do so.
Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.
It has severely impaired by business and delayed product launch. I do not have a website despite paying Magneto $4000. I plan to take legal action to get my money back.
How was project management handled?
Terribly. Magneto did the least amount of work and was not proactive in listening to my needs and performing as promised. Awful experience.
Are there any areas of improvement?
This was a complete bait & switch scam. I was sold on the promise of a sophisticated, e-commerce website with all the bells and whistles and received a stagnant, incomplete, incompatible, and unusable website.

Project summary
A clothing retail company hired Magneto IT Solutions to create their e-commerce website. The vendor initially promised a flexible, reliable, and customer-focused service.
Feedback summary
The project had been going well until they hit a roadblock. Magneto IT Solutions wouldn't follow suggestions and refused to meet halfway, then required the client to pay extra to rework the initial design. They refused to provide a refund and didn't respond to emails and follow-ups.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the owner of a newly formed company that would sell branded hemp cones and clothing items online via an e-commerce website.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Magneto IT Solutions, and what were your goals?
I hired Magneto to build a custom tailored e-commerce website to showcase and sell my branded products.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I found Magneto online and it was ranked among the top e-commerce website developers. I had several conversations with Magneto representatives, read online reviews, and reviewed Magneto's literature and website. I selected Magneto because of the promises and representations they made about their experience, customer focus, reliability, and flexibility.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
I hired Magneto IT solutions to build an e-commerce website for an emerging brand and a handful of products. At the onset, I was assured that Magneto had extensive experience crafting e-commerce websites of all sizes, would facilitate the design and completion of the website to meet my needs and specifications, and would build a website with all the performance characteristics and attributes agreed upon (and memorialized in a comprehensive proposal attached to our contract).
Based on their representations, online reviews, and assurances, I decided to hire Magneto. Things started off great, they performed to expectations and we were making progress on the website. Then we hit a roadblock. The product pages for my clothing items displayed only one picture, which I questioned because normally one would expect to see multiple pictures of a product on the product purchase page, especially a clothing item that has two sides (front and back) -- and Magneto's proposal specifically said that the Product Details page will show "multiple images per product."
Instead of addressing the issue and fixing it, Magneto tried to blame me by saying I approved the design -- yes, I approved the design outline based on aesthetics, look and feel, and placeholders, but had no idea there would be functional limitations such as the display of only one image on each product page, which I would never have agreed to. After blaming me, Magneto told me it would cost an additional $2,000 to rework the design and change the Shopify template. I pushed back but agreed to split the difference and pay $1,000 just to get the site completed and online. Magneto at first refused but then agreed to the split.
After agreeing to the split, Magneto stopped responding to my emails and went completely dark. Magneto has not done any more work on my website and left me completely hanging and stranded. They have not responded to my many emails, follow-ups, and requests for a resolution. They have ignored me and have refused to give me a refund so I can finish the website with a new developer. This has been the most disappointing experience with a web developer that claims to go above and beyond for customers, deliver quality products, and be accountable and reliable. If this happened to me I'm sure it has happened to others and will happen again. I plan to file a lawsuit against Magento for fraudulent inducement, consumer fraud, and breach of contract.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked with the VP of Development, Ryan Nord, as well as the Project Leads, Sunny and Nitesh, and several web developers/engineers.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Magneto failed to deliver what was promised and agreed upon. Magneto charged me for building a custom e-commerce website that met my specific needs, but gave me something I could not use and tried to charge me extra to address their mistakes and mishaps.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Communications were okay until Magneto stopped responding to my emails and requests for resolution. Magneto has refused to give me a refund so I can finish the website with a different developer. Magneto has ignored me and my concerns.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
At first I was very impressed, but as the project went on I felt very let down and disappointed. The level of skill, quality, and attention to detail that was promised just was not there. And when we hit a roadblock due to Magneto recommending a design template that did not conform to the proposal I agreed to, Magneto failed to take responsibility and tried to blame me and charge me more money to fix the problem. And even after I agreed to pay more money (because I wanted to the site finished), Magneto did not complete the site and completely ignored me.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Yes, they could have been decent people and scrupulous business people and done the right thing by fixing their mistake and completing my website as promised and agreed.
