Live Animations delivered a full-cycle creative and technical solution for the game within our mobile app. The project included both conceptual and production work, as well as technical integration and support.

Scope of work included:
 • Concept development: creation of a gamified promo mechanic tailored to our loyalty program and mobile app environment.
 • 3D character design and animation: development of a custom animated character that engaged users emotionally and visually.
 • Interactive game mechanic: design and integration of a prize-based gameplay within the app, including logic for randomized rewards and user interaction.
 • Brand and partner integration: visual and contextual integration of our retail brand and Henkel, the campaign’s sponsor.
 • Technical support & QA: coordination with our development team to ensure seamless integration, bug testing, and stable performance across devices.

Additionally, the campaign attracted significant partner attention, with Henkel joining as a sponsor of the prize fund — further validating the promotional concept.

The project management is proactive and highly responsive. Live Animations assigned a dedicated project manager who kept us updated at every stage — from concept approval to technical integration. All key deliverables were submitted on time or ahead of schedule, including animation drafts, game logic, and integration assets. When last-minute changes arose (such as branding alignment or UX tweaks), the team was quick to react and always solution-oriented.

Via linkedIn I found my way trough their website. Looking at their portfolio, it was obvious we needed to contact Live Animations for this new challenge.

Live Animations started with the creation of a new range of characters and some locations in 2D. After this step they translated this designs in a hole new 3D animation that comes alive when scanning some special pages in the stickeralbum. The stickers on this pages activated extra content in the 3D animation as well. On top of this, Live Animations also created some gamification for these different locations.

We worked closely together with the CEO, the Head of Business development and the project manager.

The app created a new experience for the end consumers. The quality of the designs, the modeling, the animation and rendering in the 3D environment are from a really good quality.

We had a series of calls for discussing all the details and objectives of our project. Developers presented the first beta version shortly. All our updates were done quickly and correctly. We tested several versions of the app before creating the final product.

Mostly we were in touch with project manager. In addition, negotiations were also conducted with the director of PR.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We just finished the project and it is just posted in the app stores. However we made tests with our focus group of 5 people and most estimates are satisfactory. This allows to make a suggestion that the app will be successful.

The project manager was easy to communicate. And I want to highlight the speed of feedbacks. We communicated through calls and emails and both ways were managed fast and proficient.

I especially want to highlight the responsible approach to the project, teamwork and creativity. Also, what amazed me was the speed of communication and coordination of work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Our experience in working with them was quite satisfactory. There is nothing I can suggest to improve their work.

I’m from a French retail company. We have supermarkets in Ukraine, Russia, Hungary, Portugal, Italy, and Poland.

What challenge were you trying to address with Live Animations?

Around Christmastime, we had a sales proposition wherein our clients who have a purchase of more than $10 could get a small present. We hired Live Animations to create a small game for this proposition.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Live Animations created an app for us that could run on any mobile phone platform in the Ukrainian markets. They worked with our logistics team and also came up with the application’s graphics.

We were in contact with the director of the company.

How did you come to work with Live Animations?

We knew Live Animations because they’ve done a similar project for other supermarket companies. We were comfortable with them because they knew what they were doing and could work with a short deadline.  

How much have you invested with them?

We paid around $170,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted between October–December 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

For a whole month, our app was on the top 100th spot on the App Store and Google Play Store. The team had a strong knowledge of the product being developed. It was the first time I had experienced working with a company like Live Animations, but we thought they were perfect because they helped so much and taught us what they were doing. 

How did Live Animations perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via phone and Viber. We were able to reach out to Live Animations for any issues and corrections that needed to be done on the app. The team did everything according to how we wanted it and we worked well together. Our company will most likely engage Live animations again next year.

It was incredible how quickly they were able to finish the work.

I think their technology could use some improvements.

You need to create at least an initial design, even if it’s not good, as this will help Live Animations.

The services are now being used in a couple of locations and have been successful.

Almost all of our communications happened using email.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The speed of work and how they managed to do things in a limited time is impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I reminded them of a change in the payment they needed to consider when the nature of deliverable changed a bit (reduction of costs) and I hoped they would do it themselves without me telling them about this.

I hoped they were able to delivery the video recording function of the app with a better quality. In fact, we have a screen recording instead of a vide recording on our app.

The company BILLA is a part of the REWE Group, founded in 1927 in Cologne (Germany). The main areas of activity of the REWE Group are retail and wholesale of food and tourism. The first BILLA supermarket in Ukraine was opened in 2000. Now the chain has 35 supermarkets, most of which are located in Kiev, and are also represented in Irpen, Vyshgorod, Boryspil and one in Zhytomyr.

Kids loyalty campaign "Billa singing farm". According to BILLA's strategy, the company annually holds a kids loyalty campaign and attracts partners from various fields. For this project, it was necessary to develop a digital product - a mobile application. Life Animations was involved for this project as digital developer.

What were your goals for this project?

Target: to create a unique product in the Ukrainian retail market, to increase brand awareness, as well as the truffic of customers and to increase sales.

How did you select Live Animations?

The supplier Live Animations was recommended to us by the third partner UGEARS. As a result, we got a truly unique and interesting mobile application Singing Farm, a quality product that works without interruptions.

We can evaluate the result in comparison with a similar loyalty campaign that took place last year in BILLA company. The results of this project Singing Farm are twice as good as in the previous year (double the number of stitches sold).

Our work was very well-coordinated, productive and fast.

The most impressive was the coordination, speed and non-standard ideas of the Life Animations team.

And this problem is especially acute in the field of mobile devices and accessories for them: when there are hundreds of covers and protective films for each iPhone model on the market, try to stand out among other offers!

And we decided to create additional value for our products in the form of packaging revitalization using the AR mobile application.

We did not want to be just another brand of accessories, our task was to provide a new fresh look at an ordinary product, present the brand as innovative, and also give emotions to customers of the product.

Of course, in order to achieve such goals with a brand that has just entered the market teeming with competitors, something truly impressive is needed. This was the WOW effect of AR.

The idea came spontaneously, I saw the speech of Andrei, the owner of the company at the event, admired his achievements, persona, experience and the company Live Animations. Literally immediately decided to use this innovative marketing tool for their products.

Having bought a phone case from our trademark and downloading the free application, the buyer can point the smartphone’s camera at the package of the case and see a scene in which the case saves a defenseless phone from rain from hot lava after a volcano erupts on a tropical island.

And having bought a portable speaker, he will be able to see how this speaker pops upright in the middle of the sea, and the dolphins swimming nearby arrange funny dances to her music.

We have connected all AR content with marine themes in the style of the brand so that customers get a complete immersion in the world of the brand. As a result, we have a product that gives our customers products additional value, conveys its key features and distinguishes among hundreds of analogs.

A sales manager and a project manager worked directly with us. A total of about 15 employees created the project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The needs buyer to offer more than just the appearance, packaging, and function of the product. To make it pleasant for a person to use the product so that he wants to share his pleasant impressions of using the product with others. And most importantly - give people an emotion of joy that they cannot find in standard products.

This project, we did not want to remain the next brand of just accessories, our goal has become to provide a new fresh look at an everyday product, to present the brand as innovative, and also to give emotions to the buyers of the product.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Work on the project progressed very rapidly. We got the result on time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We ourselves produce creative products for protecting mobile devices, securities glass, electronics (port. Speakers, Bluetooth products, a series of power banks). But working with Live Animations showed us how their team can think, propose, and implement projects in a non-standard way.

Their team participated and helped us at all stages of the work: from the initial idea and script to the delivery and placement of the Mobile AR application. As a result, we received a cool product in a very short time.

Our products have an emphasis on eduction. First, the user himself assembles our 3-D wooden model, and then with the help of AR he can better understand the world of mechanics of this product, and easy insight into the seemingly complicated mechanical processes.

In general, the goal was to facilitate understanding of the work and principles of mechanical processes for ordinary users with help augmented reality. Things we think are “complex” might be made simple and understandable.

We received specific answers to emerging questions as quickly as possible, all corrections were made as quickly as possible with all the nuances, solutions were often offered to obtain a positive result, and competent explanations were made why this is best done. We have just begun cooperation and there are no comments so far. Perhaps after the start and analytics of the project, recommendations for improvement will appear. So far, everything has worked out.
